Fun facts of the GMC Yukon
It's very spacious and runs very well. Love the interior of the truck. Eight people can fit in it safely and has a good amount of room in the back. The back seats can be taken out and add more trunk space. The front seats can be heated which is really convenient for the winter time.

GMC Yukon - Unparalleled Versatility (carries five passengers and all their gear, or seven passengers)
It is an SUV (technically a light-duty truck) and is quite comfortable to drive, with plenty of space in the back for groceries or other items. The only drawback I can think of right now is that the front seats do not recline far enough, making long trips uncomfortable.

Comfortable, reliable, room, great engine for get up and go. Minimal repairs, just usual upkeep of car. 170,000 miles and still going strong
Reliable, comfortable, great for hauling kids to sporting events, lots of room for them and their equipment. Great ride, comfortable for long drives. Great driving performance. Stops on a dime, lots of power (get up and go!)

Great Vehicle for a family truck
I love everything about my GMC. It will hold 7 people with us about to have twins the vehicle has plenty of room.

The pros of having a GMC Yukon.
This vehicle has room for a family of four to fit comfortably. My daughter plays softball so it does hold all the gear that we need for short trips. The only thing I would change is to have a suburban or xl to have more room for longer trips. I bought this vehicle used 6 years ago and I have had to replace the transmission. It has 220, 000 miles on it. I have done routine maintenance and it still runs good. I like the dual temperature upfront so the driver and passenger can be comfortable at the same time. I also like that it has temperature control for the back sets. My kids can set their own temperature. I would also like the garment hooks not only in the very back but in the second row of seats. This vehicle does have drink holders in the back which is helpful. I would like a cup holders in the door too.

Safe, roomy and comfortable vehicle
I love my Yukon. They are very roomy comfortable cars. I have taken naps in the back seat in between shifts. I have transported children for sporting events. It has always been a very reliable, safe SUV. The car has so much room. It handles nicely off road and has also been out in the sand dunes.

Love my 2005 Yukon!
Exterior and interior excellent condition, mechanics fine absolutely no problem. 2nd owner at 90,000 miles now 197,000 miles. Only sign of age, driver passenger seat starting to split on door side. Extremely comfortable ride, easy to drive, great visibility.

New tires; repaired a/c; two-tone. Drives well.
My vehicle performs well. Just had a/c work done. I am leery about putting it on the road for extended travel due to it is advanced age.

It not a reliable truck i think yukon is a cheap truck
Its bad on gas.the driver seat broke in the first week of buying it.has a lot of electric problems

Some uncomfortable features of Yukon denali.
All brake lights have went out, which According to mechanic it is a brake switch that goes out a lot on these. Also a flaw in the design is that the back seats will fold down to be able to carry large items, but the back seats do not lay down or back at all. With our family of 6, this makes it very uncomfortable when traveling on family trips. The only way to relax or sleep is to lay flat in the floor or sleep sitting straight up.

2005 GMC Yukon XL drives good
Bought our Yukon used with lots a miles (about 230k miles) and the transmission blew. Also the air conditioning doesn't work very well because of the pump. It drives great but also a pump in the back is clogged also. Great starter vehicle or if we had a newer one it would be great but they aren't good on gas

Extremely reliable over all.
Very reliable but the seats are not very comfortable and when it's hot they can get gross and sweaty.
accountCircle Andi J
I love the size and carrying capacity of my yukon. I can seat 9 people which is important to me plus I have plenty of cargo room. I don't like the gas mileage.
It's old and there are a lot of things that no longer work on my car.

My vehicle needs to be replaced due to maintenance and rust issues
The vehicle has High miles, it has multiple rust issues, like the frame, rocker panels rear quarters and front fenders, and multiple maintenance issues.

It is good in the snow and ice. It can fit 7 people pretty comfortably. It needs a lot of maintenance.
I like that it is big enough to fit my larger family. I do not like that it has electrical issues occasionally. The battery also seems to need to be replaced far too often.

My only complaint about this vehicle.
No problems with the vehicle. I have the fully loaded luxury edition. It is comfortable and drives nice. The only complaint is the all wheel drive. It makes the vehicle not drive straight. You have to constantly adjust the steering wheel to make the vehicle drive in a straight line down a straight road.

Pros from Owners

likeFilled Gabriella P.

Practical, seats 6, so spacious, TV and DVD player, family vehicle, reliable, affordable, low maintenance, not computerized, easy to work on, takes low-grade gas, bucket seats, leather seats, CD player.

likeFilled Jennifer R.

It can tow our 26 foot camper really well. It has lots of room for the kids. The color is black and it's great color. It has a tow package. TV for the kids to watch. Satellite radio available option! Leather seats with heat option which is great for cold weather.

likeFilled Rachel M.

Plenty of space for car seats and passengers, has ac vents in the back which is a must for Texas heat. Comes with heated seats, sunroof, and 3rd row seating. Perfect for someone with children or expecting. Great for going on vacation and gets 15 miles to the gallon. I love this vehicle, it fits my little family perfectly.

Cons from Owners

dislikeFilled Gabriella P.

Not great on gas, a lot of mileage, 15-year- old car, no longer has a warranty, needs more maintenance than a newer vehicle, no Bluetooth speaker, no aux adapter, no technical advancements, no navigational system, no backup camera, no backup sensors, hard to park.

dislikeFilled Jennifer R.

The gas mileage is definitely not as good. Probably wish it was LT and little longer. The TV needs to be updated. I like captain seats but now we are expanded family so bench seat would be nice for all the kids to sit up closer to the front.

dislikeFilled Rachel M.

The only bad thing I can say about this vehicle is the blind spots, I personally was not used to driving such a large vehicle at first and was not used to having to turn all the way around to check the blind spots. Although, with time I did get used to this.

Is The 2005 GMC Yukon A Good Value?

I am not sure how much it is now, we bought it used. But it is a good value. I would definitely buy it again.
Suzanne M.
It really depends on the package you get and how many miles are on the vehicle. When I purchased my vehicle, I paid $14,000, which was a more than better value than others I had seen.
Lela W.
It cost me 5800 dollars, I am not sure what it was new but a used one in good condition is a great deal.
Troye L.
The 2005 GMC Yukon sle cost about 3,500 I would think. It is a very good value I believe because it's a very reliable car for that price.
Sarah D.
I bought it new as a left over in 2007, it only had 100 miles on the odometer. The price at the time was very friendly to the pockets and affordable. I would agree, it is a good value.
Daniel J.
I paid 18,000 for the GMC Yukon in 2014 I think it was a fair price for the vehicle. I am very happy with it.
Richard P.
My 2005 GMC Yukon Denali cost $22,000. It was relatively a good buy based on the other used vehicles available at the time.
