My Civic is cool, even when it runs hot!

2003 Honda Civic DX

My 2003 Honda Civic has so far been a wonderful little car to drive. It is very peppy to only have a small 4-cylinder engine. The 5-speed automatic transmission makes a difference. I can climb hills in third gear with ease where most cars this size will be struggling. It's very good on gas, particularly when the tank is full. The DX package is fairly sparse on bells and whistles. Just the standard stuff like power locks and windows, A/C, and CD player. Mine has cloth seats which are surprisingly supportive and fairly adjustable. There's not a lot of room in the back seat for passengers but I haul an infant car seat with no problems without pushing the front passenger seat into the dashboard. As for problems there has only been standard issues that arise from driving a car nearly 178,000 miles. The original water pump is FINALLY failing so it needs replacing. One thing I like in particular is this car's tolerance for punishment. The failing pump causes some overheating when the car is idling but cranking up the A/C levels it out and will actually drop the temperature in the engine compartment back down to acceptable levels. As long as the car is in motion the engine stays cool. Overall, a nice little ride for day to day driving or a first car.

Best family car ever with its setting and its gas saving

2003 Honda Civic DX

This Honda civic is one of the best cars I have ridden or driven in years with its great gas saving and its great settings for my family I would but another one if this one ever breaks down or crashes. Literally it saved me up to hundreds of dollars on gas because our old car or my wallet breaker as I like to call it would basically wreck my expenses and was a waste of gas and its parts would be hard to find and replace and that car is worse than my mortgage. Anyway our Honda civic has great sitting goes up to great mileage but it's the paint that wears off easily.

Honda civic is the car for me. Great gas mileage! No major repairs!

2003 Honda Civic DX

First car i've ever made payments on; so it looks better and newer than any car I have had before. It runs well and gets great gas mileage. I haven't experienced any mechanical problems with it, The car I had prior to it was also a Honda civic; the year 1999. It ran well too but, I bought it outright and it had a huge dent and an overheating problem. The 2003 is wonderful. All I had to buy was a radiator cap! I love the way it drives, takes curves well and hugs the road in the rain. If I were to buy a brand new car, I would pick one of the Honda civic series.

Sage green Honda Civic with beat up bumpers

2003 Honda Civic DX

Being that my car is a bit older the air doesn't work properly, and the paint has started to peel. I purchased the car off an elderly woman a year ago, and at the time it only had 40,000 miles on it. Aside from the exterior and the air it is running perfectly. I intend to drive it until it dies. A real plus is that it is pretty cheap to fill up. I have never paid more than $30 to fill up the tank. It may not be much to look at, but my next car will hopefully be a Honda as well.

My First Car: Luca the 2003 Honda Civic

2003 Honda Civic DX

My Honda Civic is my first car so I feel very comfortable driving a vehicle that is quite small. Overall, I have no problems with it and I would say it is the perfect car for first time drivers. In my opinion, it is very spacious and I feel that it drives smoothly. The only issue is that it can be difficult to drive uphill, as it is a pretty old car. Also, but not as important, I would have liked a built in AUX.

2003 Honda Civic Comfort Review

2003 Honda Civic DX

I bought my car at 15 (currently 23) and have absolutely loved it up until Fall of 2018. However, since then there are constant issues. Including a broken driver's side door, constant overheating (even after fixing the radiator + several other issues). The car is just old and not as comfortable or reliable as some of my friends' newer card. I have no way to play music from my phone which is also an inconvenience.

It is an old car and has one wheel out the door.

2003 Honda Civic DX

The brakes concern me even after replacement. The car is not as spacious as it could be, the design is poor, I wish there was more space between the two seats up front as well as for the console to store more. It does not do well on hills and feels generally unsafe in any inclement weather. This may be due to the sheer age of the car but I think there is much room for improvement

Honda's are the best on the Market

2003 Honda Civic DX

The Honda Civic is an extremely reliable car. At 100,000 miles, I have practically had no problems the entire time. My family owns mostly Honda's, and overall they are definitely the best quality car on the market. The civic I have has a 4 cylinder engine so it sometimes struggles speeding up as it's going uphill, but other than that it has no problems at all.

The Honda civic had tremendous handling and maneuverability

2003 Honda Civic DX

The car runs very well, and I was able to buy it used for only 4000$. In the two years that I owned it, I never had any issues with either the engine or the functionality of the car. It ended up breaking down while returning from Thanksgiving in the mountains, although that was likely from my negligence in keeping the oil level full.

Great except for the locks

2003 Honda Civic DX

My car works extremely well for the most part. It's a stick shift, I don't need to refill the gas very often, and I even have a sunroof. The biggest issues with the car in the doors. They will occasionally lock themselves, at which point I'll have to get in through the back. However, for my day to day usual use, this car is perfect!

Reliable Family Car Perfect for living in a busy populated area.

2003 Honda Civic DX

This car is extremely reliable. It is great for living and working in a major city. It drives well. The seats can be uncomfortable at times but there are lever adjustments for that. It is a smaller car so if you are driving for longer road trips it is not the best but for everyday use it has always been proven reliable.

The little Honda that can

2003 Honda Civic DX

It is a wonderful transportation car that gets you where you need to be. It is an older car with around 160k miles. The cooling system isn't the best, but it is just fine. The Honda is 2 wheel drive so it wouldn't be good for trips in the snow. We have had this car for about 3 years. And it's seen it all!

Honda Civic with No door Handle.

2003 Honda Civic DX

The door handle is missing. The car jerks. If you leave the air on too long the car won't start sometimes. There is an old radio in the back. The trunk is tore up. There is no USB port. The tires are worn out so there's no grip on the road. There's a transmission problem. Doesn't do well in traffic.

My small, compact Honda Civic has been great for both me and my husband!

2003 Honda Civic DX

My Honda Civic has been great for me and my husband! I have been driving it for almost five years now, since high school, and even though it is from the year 2003 it still drives great. The size of the car is compact and low to the ground, perfect for just two people.

Honda Civic - economical on gas and uses no oil. Comfortable seats.

2003 Honda Civic DX

The Honda is a very reliable car and I feel confident when driving it. It's rather plan, no frills and 4 door, automatic. Great gas mileage, cruise control, great radio and CD player. Plenty of legroom and drives very well. Uses no oil to speak of runs great.

Honda civics and why they can be good

2003 Honda Civic DX

Car is great minor problem here and there but all around a good car. Had it for a couple months and it stopped running but when it was it. Was a reliable car to get back an forth on the gas mileage ig great 20+ mpg city and about 30 mpg highway. Hope this is helpful

I love my Honda civic 2003. Great commuter. My next car will be a Honda as well

2003 Honda Civic DX

I absolutely love my Honda. Amazing gas mileage. Easy maintenance. To be honest I have had very minimal issues with it. . I have owned it for 10 years. I have drove it cross country twice use it as a daily driver. It has 236 thousand miles on it. I love it

I am the original owner and have kept it up to date.

2003 Honda Civic DX

My vehicle runs well for it is age. I have the most basic car available. It is blue and available to sit 5 people. Has a CD and a tape player. The tires have been recently replaced. The oil does need to get changed soon. But that shouldn't take too long.

- Dharti my

Longevity is what makes my car special.

2003 Honda Civic DX

My car is getting old, and a bit less reliable, but for 16 years, it's been extremely reliable. It really didn't need much in the way of repairs for the first 12-14 years. I am extremely happy with Honda, and am unlikely to purchase any other brand.
