It has about a 40 mile electric range.
I love that it has 40 miles of electric range and is spacious. I wish it had better safety features. I like the console and features that are provided. It has great trunk space for the size of the vehicle. I love that it is environmentally friendly and that I can use electric only on my commute to work.

Honda clarity, the height of luxury.
It feels luxurious and eco friendly! I have only had it for 3 months but it is an amazing car. I just use electricity around town and can still drive around on road trips without any concern. I has the acceleration that is needed for getting onto the highway or passing someone while still on ev mode.

Start/stop intermittant, radar will follow cars exiting the freeway and you will slow also even though your in the fast lane.
Intermittent start/stop feature with accompanying high revs from ice engine even when car is fully charged and nothing being used like the heater or a/c or radio, etc. Honda denies this exists. 2) Radar will slow the car down as the car you were following exits and slows from the freeway, the car thinks your still following that car. Several times I have had the car slow from 70 mph to 35 mph when on the freeway and this is hazardous. Honda denies this occurs, (several dealers) will tell you they cannot duplicate this on their "test drive". Its so common that its a honda policy to deny, deny, deny!

Some minor improvements needed but overall a great car.
The versatility is great. Having both gas and electric gives me the peace of mind of knowing that if I cannot find a charging station I can still just fill up the tank (only 7 gallons) and keep on going. The comfort is great and the inside is actually very roomy (even in the back). Some of the controls could be placed better and the touch screen system could also be better but they do not take away too much from the overall experience. Oh, and the windshield wiper fluid delivery system is awful. Bad design.

Good, mid-priced electric plug-in hybrid car.
It does not feel wimpy even though it is on electric power. It does, however, go through battery power too quickly on its way up hills. I like the interior and big trunk, and the sound system is nice too. The air conditioning system gurgles a little too loudly.

Electric vehicle. Gas mileage unbelievable. Luxury vehicle.
I love the gas mileage of this hybrid vehicle. Nothing that I don't like about this vehicle

Worry free ride for any scenario.
This is a really great car. It rides very smoothly, the plug-in electric is probably the best on the market. It has a fantastic gas mileage. The engine is quiet. We have never had any issues and it is a very low maintenance car. We have a big dog and he fits in it well. Highly recommend!

It makes noise when you switch over from electricity to gas.
It is very good, I enjoy not having to pay for gas and charge with electricity instead. I like the added comfort of knowing that I have gas just in case, and that I will not get stuck in the road somewhere. It is very silent when on electricity, which is cool.
accountCircle Al P on December 11, 2020
It is very quiet and minimizes wind noise with it is low drag shape.
Very nice for city use, brisk acceleration from stop. In nice temperatures over 65 degrees it exceeds quoted 47 mile electric range. One feature I wish it had would be lumbar support. I achieve about 45 mpg freeway speeds in hybrid mode. I like the function of the led headlights.

A sleek, smooth, and reliable car.
It is a very reliable and sleek car. I enjoy driving it, and when I brake it is a smooth and gentle brake. The electric driving on it is incredibly soft and gentle, and steering is also very smooth. The navigation and caution signals are very intuitive as well. Overall, it is a really nice car to drive and own.

This is most wonder full vehicle I use. I am so happy with its performance. Its reliability was so good. Its comfort and features is most stylish. I use this vehicle from long time but I did not see any kind of problem. I am big fan of this vehicle..

Car is considered a luxury car.
I really enjoy my car, it has great features as an navigation system, a rear camera, sport mode and many more features. I enjoy the car because it look really modern and cool. The perks of owning the car is how smooth the car travels, the interior is also one of my favorite things, it is one of the reason I ended up getting the car because of the leather seats and how comfortable the car is.

Dual energy source, both electric and gas.
This is a great vehicle for city driving. It is awesome because you basically can go without using any gas, while you are in the city. You charge at home, or in the garage for work, and then you drive around until the next to you’ve parked at that location. However, if you are on the highway or driving long distance, you have the backup support of gasoline so you are not going to get stranded in the middle of the road if there’s traffic.

You need a charger at your house to keep it properly charged.
Saves gas because it works mostly on a battery. I like not having to fill up every week. Excellent car for work purposes.

I love that my vehicle is a plug-in hybrid. It saves me gas when driving to work. The technology is upscale. What I dislike is that it takes over 12 hours to charge the electric vehicle battery with a level 1 outlet.
Having a hybrid saves me a lot of money in the long run.

Plug-in hybrid clarity, the best of both worlds.
It is very comfortable. I enjoy driving it on long trips. I love the plug in hybrid using electric for short trips, but having gas for long trips. The car is able to use both engines to get great power and acceleration. I love the built in navigation and free updates for five years. I wish it was lifetime map updates.

2006 BMW 325xi great gas mileage.
2008 BMW 325xi is a great vehicle. Other then where the starter is. It is located underneath the intake manifold. Very difficult to get at when the starter goes out. But all around great gas mileage is about 2935 miles per gallon and I'll be able drive is another great feature handles very well on the roads highly recommend.

Do not buy this car you will regret it!!!
While on EV the engine turns on randomly and stays on for no reasons + when on HV you will get high revs like being stuck wide open in first gear! Sucks gas like crazy, super scary and most important very dangerous as you also lose speed and power. Fantastic when you are going 75 mph on the freeway. Honda says it’s normal. Stay away, get something else and not a Honda. Extremely disappointing experience especially being treated like c**p. Wish I could put zero star rating.

Love this car
I leased my base Clarity about 10 days ago and immediately had to park it at home and go on a business trip for 6-days! So at all of 166 miles on the odometer, 40 of which were on the car when I got it, I love it! I'm a big guy and it's plenty comfortable. It gets lots of looks (mine is red) and people are a little freaked out when there is no engine noise. Charging is kind of a hassle right now because I'm not signed up at all the outlets around Portland, so I'm relying on the few that are open at odd hours. I 'trickle' charge it at the office using a 110 outlet. It works out. My commute is no gas. I'm excited to see how it does on the open road. I think one of my outlets is non functional but otherwise the car is just amazing.

100% Electric for Local Driving
I find my 2018 Clarity comfortable, and a joy to drive. I do almost all my driving locally and I run 100% electric except for the two long trips I take each year when I go hybrid at 40 mpg. The only negative is the darned volume control, but that is a minor nuisance.

Long electric range and good gas mpg
I have owned my 2018 base Clarity for 27 months and it is the best car I have ever owned. I regularly get over 60 miles on a charge. On road trips using the gas engine I got 47 mpg. I chose the base model because I have an Apple IPhone for navigation and it works great with Apple CarPlay. On a recent trip my highway exit was closed forpaving for the weekend and google maps knew this and directed me around it. The standard navigation would not have been so smart. I now have 11,000 miles on the car and have only needed two oil changes. I have only bought gas once in 2020. This car can save you a bundle even with cheap gas prices.

Very affordable electric car.
The performance is excellent, the car is super comfortable and super quiet. It uses very little gas or electricity. It plugs right into my house with no special requirements. The car is almost 2 years old and has not required any repairs except standard maintenance which is less often than regular fuel cars.

Issues with EV and HV use
We were absolutely thrilled when we got the car in February of 2019. Got about 46 miles on electric only and 119 mpg on average a month. After about 8 month the EV charge went down to about 29 and the average monthly mpg to 48. It felt like it was in HV charging mode but it was set in regular HV mode only. Also had an episode of it revving up with loose of gas power. Had to come to a stop and turn it off, afterwards it was fine again. Took it to Honda, they couldn’t find any problems.

Plug-in hybrid works for city driving and cross country road trips.
We really love our Honda clarity because it is the perfect combination of Electric City driving, with the ability to take road trips on gas. We really enjoy the smarter features of the car like adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, lane departure information, and the android auto app. The car has great acceleration and is fun to drive. We have driven the car from Austin to Indiana, as well as from Austin to Georgia and it was great for both trips. We haven't had any major issues, the only small thing is sometimes android auto acts up.

More than just a electric car
I've had mine for about 10 months and so far I put over 8000 miles and used 22 gal. Of gas. Most of my mileage is in the electric range and on a good weather day I can go about 60 miles on electric. During a snow storm last winter my house power was out for 9 days. I hooked up an inverter to the 12 volt battery and it ran my TV, satellite receiver, internet, cell phone booster, and a led lamp and I still had 40% power left after 9 days. Great car.

Great Value
Honda is giving these things away, so I bought one for my wife. The Good: This car gets great mpgs on long trips. Going from San Diego to San Luis Obispo was extremely pleasant, the ride was superb. And it's so great being in EV mode in an LA traffic jam while all the other hammerheads are burning gas while sitting still. Haha. Also, the interior is fantastic, the radio blasts wonderfully, and the rear seat room is at the level of limo. The Bad: The stupid adaptive cruise control is just stupid. Anyone stupid enough to not be able to + and - and "old fashioned" cruise control should not be driving. What problem was Honda trying to solve with this idiotically frustrating idea? I'm in cruise control, a car safely changes into my lane twenty feet in front of me (i.e. Plenty of room) but my ACC slams my brakes on, creating a hazard to the guy behind me (who could not have appreciated it). Oh, and the driver's seatbelt latch was designed by an idiot. Reach down quickly and start pressing to release your belt... Except you're not pressing on the release button, it's the body of the latch; the button is another inch or two down. The Ugly: This car's styling is so similar to the Accord (which is awesome looking) but something happened around the back wheels that take away from its presentation. But hey, the car looks way better than a Prius, Leaf, or any other green car. Overall, I am extremely pleased with this car. I'm the kind of guy who keeps a car twenty years, and this car will be for calm touring, not spirited charging around corners.

Riddled with issues
Could be a good car if it was not having multiple electronic issues: engine turning on constantly and not shutting off, high revs up to 5200 rpm (impossible to go up a canyon) and sudden loss of speed on freeways, constant issues with EV and HV, radio not working, etc etc... And Honda not doing anything. So disappointed by this company that I used to idolize. Will never buy a Honda ever again! Buyers beware.

Love This Car
I have had my Clarity for one year and two months. In this time I have only used six tanks of fuel. Keep in mind it can be filled for less than $18 bone dry. Very comfortable and stylish. Charges rapidly but I do recommend the 230 volt charger. Very spunky in the sport mode. No regrets and would buy it again!

Not only saves by using the electric battery but also great on gas.
I love my 2018 Honda Clarity Plug-In. Purchased January 1, 2019 and because I generally drive short distances on the highway and in the city (10 to 25 miles one way) and keep it charged regularly, I have used less than $40.00 in gas during the first six months. I can plug it in at a local dealership, walk to the mall or movies and it's fully charged when I return. I live in the Northeast and now that the weather has warmed up, I'm getting better mileage on the battery resulting on a minimal increase in my electric utility bill. I can also charge it at home in 4.5 hours on my 240V electric outlet, vs.the 12 hours it takes with the 120V. It's stylish, rides good and quite roomy.

Plug in hybrid is worth it!
I love this plug in hybrid. It saves me a ton on gas and is fun to drive and operate. It is luxurious yet economical. I cannot remember the last time I put gas in it. I get 50 electric miles per charge. I have a home charger and my work charger. I get to ride in carpool lane too.

The Touring model is a very luxurious car.
I like being able to drive about 50 miles on electric without using any gas. It only takes about $1 for me to charge the car with my electricity costing about 6 cents per KWH. I wish it had a larger battery so that I could go longer on electric.
accountCircle Victor J on June 11, 2019
My favorite portion of the car is the electric charging.
Awesome vehicle, great on gas. My wife and I drove it from California to North Carolina and probably spent about $100 in gas. The charging option is great as well I get 60 miles on a single charge before it switches to gas. I would highly recommend this vehicle to anyone who is looking for a new car.

50 miles range, better battery life in warmer weather, full, charge overnight, seats 5 comfortably, great body style, large trunk, good sound system, heated, seats, comfortable seats, not best navigation system, loud when using engine, still good mileage when using engine, regenerative braking is great.

I got my Clarity 11/2/18, and didn't put any gas in it until 3/28/19. Solar panels on my home let me charge up for free! When I did get gas, it only took about 2 gallons. Fantastic mileage! I’m glad I chose this car over Tesla, I’m able to make short trips on electric and long trips in hybrid and not worrying about charging stations. My other car is Prius prime which I also love. Once you taste plug in vehicles you’ll never go back to gas eater vehicle.

The Honda Clarity offers an environmentally friendly, yet flexible option for those looking to reduce their carbon footprint - without giving up the features of a cool car.
I love my Honda Clarity. It's great to have the option to charge it, which is way more environmentally friendly, but also be able to use gas if I'm in an area with no chargers (for example, at my parents cabin in small-town Wisconsin.) The seats are comfortable, the trunk is spacious, and the bluetooth features work great. My only complaint is that the Apple CarPlay doesn't always work - I may just need to get that checked out at a shop, though.

A car to help our struggling environment
Having a plug in Hybrid is so nice. The ability to drive on electric but have the backup of the gas engine makes driving stress free. We used to own the Chevy Volt and the Honda Clarity is much roomier and comfortable for passengers. The trunk is raised in the back which makes it difficult to carry large items like suitcases. When it's running on the gas engine it can be quite loud, more than a car that's 100% gas.

Decent but not worth the price.
There are constantly issues with system shutting down while driving. The car will not always accelerate. This car is very comfortable and roomie although it has the other issues. The windows are barely tented. Double window on trunk causing you to be able to see more when you are in reverse.

Honda Clarity: Beautiful and eco-friendly!
The Honda Clarity is great! The Clarity drives for about 50 miles on the electric charge, without gas. The car has good gas mileage since the charge has been used. The car is nice looking. It is comfortable with plenty of legroom and cargo room. What I like the most is that it eco-friendly!
