2009 Honda Fit- Pretty dang good
2009 Honda Fit Sport Electric
Generally, I really enjoy my car. It was perfect when I was single and did not have a child. It has been extremely reliable, other than the motor of the windshield wiper fluid dispenser (?) going out within the first 6 months. I have otherwise not had any issues with the car. While driving the car, my only complaint is that, while on a bend there is a large blind spot due to the thickness of the strip between the windshield and drivers side window. There was a bend by my old home that I had to take very carefully because if someone were crossing the street from the left, they would constantly be in the blindspot until they were in front of you. I had to ensure I was watching out my window rather than my windshield while on turns like that. Otherwise, the car has held up very well over the past 10 years. I don't recall having to do any work on it at all other than regular maintenance (which I have been poor about doing regularly and the car forgives me for it).
The only reason that I may be upgrading in the future is the back seat is a little snug for car seats. With one child, it's not a big deal because I can push the passenger seat all the way forward. When I have to put a second carseat in, I am unsure of how it will fit because I cannot push the driver's side seat all the way forward and still be able to comfortably drive. Also, not that my husband routinely has to drive, but my husband is 6'5' and barely fits in the driver's seat without 'eating his knees'. It is not a reason to upgrade my car at this time but it is something to consider when purchasing my next car that would prevent me from choosing a Honda Fit again.
Overall, I love my car. It just does not necessarily a family car narrative, which I haven't seen it advertised as such anyway. I feel it's pretty perfect for their target audience.
