60-70 MPG Ultra-Low Emissions 5-Speed Manual for sporty engauged fun driving.
It gets 60-80 MPG and is an Ultra Low Emission Vehicle giving it an excellent green rating. It is lightweight and nimble in handling and has enough power with the battery boost to hold speed on quite any hill. It also has a five speed manual transmission which makes it fun and engaging to drive. Downside would be the limit of the NiCad batteries and no purely electric mode, although under 20 mph the engine shuts off automatically when the transmission is in neural and then restarts via the electric motor when a gear is again chosen. So no fuel or emissions at stops, or waiting.

The mileage, even at 18+ years old, is more than 55 miles per gallon.
I like the mileage that a hybrid provides. I like the performance on the road. I would like to have a quieter car, and one that carries more than two people. However, we have had the car for 18+ years and it is fine for a retired couple with limited needs.
