Integrated motor assist car.
It has motor assist. It is very fuel efficient. It is dependable. The battery is more expensive than other vehicles.
accountCircle Angela T
Insight- good reliable car.
It has been a reliable car. I average about 45-48 mpg. No major repair issues at all, just normal maintenance. Good ride, but a bit noisy in cabin. I will most likely get another when the time comes. I passed 200,000 miles and it is still going strong!
accountCircle Mia F
The car is faster than it looks.
It is a nice drive. The car has sports mode which is fun. It is gas efficiency saves me a lot of money. The ac blows nice in the summer and the heat is really good for the winter. The trunk is spacious. Cruise control is nice for the highway out of town.

Honda insight - efficient package, unexpected versatility.
I have put about 180,000 miles on this car and I am the only owner. For a hybrid, it is surprisingly good in snow (with good tires) and I have had this car up mountains, in horse pastures, in the extreme heat, in the extreme cold, and just about everything in between. She has been across the country several times and is the most reliable car I have ever owned.

Great long-lasting vehicle.
This car gets great gas mileage, around 45 mph! The hatch is very spacious. This vehicle is reliable and should last a long time. I have only had one issue with the tail light. Sadly to replace the LEDs in the tail light you have to purchase an entire tail light assembly and that is very expensive. However, in comparison to other cars, Hondas are known to be affordable to maintain.

Honda insight - provider of great ‘sight’ in inclement weather.
Extremely reliable! Excellent car for commuting. The large windshield has amazing visibility especially in inclement weather conditions. Traction is also great in bad weather. There is much more room then it appears especially when folding down the back seats and having great access to the trunk with the hatchback feature.

That it is a Hybrid and that it has great gas mileage
I love the gas mileage that I get from my hybrid and even at 8 yrs old I still get between 40-44 mpg. I wish it had better pickup but was willing to sacrifice that for gas mileage and it still holds true now.
accountCircle Becky D
It is reliable and durable vehicle.
Fuel efficient, hatchback gives ample cargo area, great handling. Seats not as comfortable as they could be especially for long distance.

Negative Owner Reviews

Honda hybrid offers great gas mileage but lacks horsepower and comfort.
It is a hybrid and so far the worst feature has been the lack of acceleration, it takes so long to gain speed. The other issue is a problem on hot days, when idling at a light or stuck in traffic the a/c does not blow cold air. However, gas mileage is great. The seats are not comfy and the view out the rear window is shallow which makes visibility of other cars difficult.

It is a black, hybrid, hatchback.
I personally do not like the look of the car. It saves great on gas but I believe there’s something wrong with my car since I bought it from a used car lot. Just recently my car said my ima system needed to be checked which is the gas saving battery mechanism which will cost about $2k to replace.
accountCircle Alfred E
It has over 100,000 miles and is a piece of c**p. The front bumper is off on the sides of it. It is barely hanging on
It is a hybrid that still has the original hybrid battery

Ecoboost sucks and not worth it.
This car has 150, 000 miles on it, keeps breaking down, does not always connect to my phone to play music. I hate the Eco boost where it turns off while at lights or stop signs and turns off the ac.
accountCircle Katherine D
It is a hybrid, so you can run it on gas or electricity.
The Honda insight is a very reliable car. It is great on gas mileage, and a smooth driving vehicle. I have never had any problems out of it. I would recommend it to someone shopping for a small, gas saving vehicle.
accountCircle Michelle M
Good gas mileage. Good value for a hybrid. Too small for a car seat to be comfortable.
I like that it's a hybrid. I do not like that is so small. I don't need an SUV but it is so low it is hard for me to put my one year old in her car seat without bumping her head.
accountCircle Anthony C
It's acceleration is very slow so watch the RPM as you speed up.
I like that it is fuel efficient. I like that it is quiet making the drive more relaxing. I don't like it's acceleration.
accountCircle John G
A decent car—recommend to some.
Vehicle has gotten loud over time. Does not ride as smooth as other vehicles; might be due to small tires. Overall, a fair inner city vehicle with great gas mileage at a good price. Wouldn't necessarily recommend to those who could afford a larger, more comfortable vehicle.

It saves money on gas and is a smooth car when we travel.
Windows do not roll up and saves gas, it is small car and my hitch back do not open, you my headlights are blurry and it has over $300,000 mileage on the car, radio works and cruise does not work it rides very smooth and I just got a. Oil change in may and it still runs.
accountCircle Nathan P on May 30, 2021
The little hatchback that can.
This is ol' reliable for me. The gas mileage is hard to beat- around 35 mpg. The mph indicator also has a colored ring that changes around it as you drive. This can turn into a fun game while you are driving to get the best mpg. Just be prepared to floor the vehicle whenever you have to get up to highway speeds. My only issue has been that sometimes in the winter when it is so cold you will have to jump the car.

Pros from Owners

likeFilled Priss A.

It is a hybrid so save a lot on gas. It is also not a common car so you will not see a lot of people out there. It also saves you a lot of money. On body care, tires, maintenance and etc. Would recommend.

likeFilled John B.

The pros on this vehicle is it's a hybrid, which means it will save you gas in the long run. The cons is it runs on CVT transmission which means it does have problems when you want to go fast, or go from a stop to go.

likeFilled Elizabeth K.

I love the big trunk space and the hatchback! It feels like a lot of room for a little car. It is small enough to park almost anywhere and the gas mileage is great. Car seats for kids can fit in the backseat fine, and the hatchback is great for the stroller.

Cons from Owners

dislikeFilled Priss A.

It is really low to the ground. It's not very good to drive during bad weather conditions like snow, sleet, hailing and sometimes when it rains. A very sensitive car. More often than not you have to change the windshield wipers.

dislikeFilled John B.

It has transmission problems. Sometimes when you go from stop to run it does sometimes skip or just wants to stall. It also has wind auto frame flaw. When it's windy outside and you are driving at average speed, the car tends to wobble or wants to shift in lanes.

dislikeFilled Elizabeth K.

Being a hybrid, the battery is very expensive for this vehicle. Little maintenance is required, but the battery is very pricey. The air conditioning is not cold when it switches to the energy saving battery mode, which is annoying in the summer, and it does not have great get-up-and-go unless in sport mode.

Is The 2010 Honda Insight A Good Car?

Yes. I love it and will buy another one when this one has had all its worth to me. Great economical car.
Amanda P.
Yes, it is a good vehicle. I like the reliability, the fact that it gets great gas mileage, and that it is a hybrid, making it environmentally responsible as well.
Joan T.
Yes I love the model and make. It is very reliable and good on gas. The only bad part about it is that the wind makes it fly all over the place.
Ashley E.
I would have to say honestly Honda definitely could have done a better job. The big battery seems to start to need more assistance, the back window you really cannot see anything behind you.
Danielle H.
I love this car! It is small but perfect for someone not traveling with children who wants great gas mileage.
Gina S.
Yes. I love the car! It gets me where I need to be and is so reliable! It drives easy and smooth. Very little mechanical issues.
Alexa M.

How Reliable Is The 2010 Honda Insight?

Very reliable. Only done routine maintenance on it and no other issues. Only had to take car in for recall but wasn't experiencing any problems.
Amanda P.
The 2010 Honda insight lx is very reliable. I have experienced no major problems with it. The only minor problem is that it does have a bit of a 'jerk' to it when I start out.
Joan T.
It is pretty reliable. I did not have any problems with it for a while. Now. I have problems with tires and emission testing.
Ashley E.
It does it is kind of hard to explain. It does not like cold weather. Even though you are not supposed to have to let your car warm up in the cold weather. Just get in and go... But it does some weird... Read More

I have had no problems with this car. We keep up with the maintenance. It has almost 200,000 miles on it.
Gina S.
Regular oil maintenance and tired rotated are the only things I have to change on the car. I love low key cars!!
Tracy T.

Is The 2010 Honda Insight A Good Value?

Now in 2019 they can run various prices depending on condition of vehicle. Great value when I bought it new at just under 20,000.
Amanda P.
It cost somewhere in the mid $20,000.00s. I think that is a good value for as long as it has lasted without major repairs.
Joan T.
It costed about 13,000 at the time. It was a good value because it only had about 40,000 miles on it and only 2 previous owners.
Ashley E.
It cost approximately 10,000 $ I would have to say no it is not a good value. Plus the trade in value of the car is not really that cool either.
Danielle H.
It was around $18,000.00. I think it was a good value. The interior is definitely basic and the upholstery has not held up that great.
Gina S.
It is a great car for the price. I bought mine through a car sales lot after it had been in a wreck and fixed minor issues. Extremely affordable.
