Nice car for everyday use! Gas saver!
It is a great car. Cannot race in it but the gas savings is amazing. I do not like that it auto shuts the air when stopped at traffic. Other than that no complaints. It is a hatchback so there’s lot of space in the back and you can fold the back seats and make even more room for items. I have moved a bed in this. Had several recalls that Honda fixed.

Solid transportation at a reasonable cost.
Honda quality equipment. Good gas mileage. Hybrid. Only standard maintenance to date. Average comfort - rides low. Added aftermarket Sirius radio with no problem. Average cooling and heating. Systems. Reliable transportation. Good storage space. Can seat 5.

Going down hill in VT I did 60 mpg on mount Washington NH as well.
I enjoy the comfort of my insight. My insight is a hybrid so it is very quiet and gas mileage is good for long distances. It has a nine gallon tank that can go as far or farther that a 15 gallon tank. If I were to get this car new I would have gotten a few more amenities.

That it gets good gas mileage and is dependable and that's important with global warming.
Hybrid, gas mileage though Prius seems to get better mileage

2013 Honda Insight Engine Problems
I loved my car until the oil consumption issues. Oil got up into the pistons and caused catastrophic damage. Had to have the engine replaced twice. Honda was not helpful the first time. Do not recommend.

Excellent vehicle with few problems.
The Honda insight has been a great vehicle. It has saved me money on gas, and it is easy to maintain. It makes great gas mileage, and makes it easy to haul large packages with the hatchback. I am also able to haul several passengers at one time. The only issue I have is that the check tire pressure light comes on from time to time because of low tire pressure.

It's a Hybrid! You'll love it!
I love my Honda Insight for many reasons. For one it's a hatchback and it's so easy to lay the seats down and put them up if you're transporting something big and you car pull often. I rarely do either, so I keep the two seats down and one up all the time. Which leads me to the another reason why I love my Honda Insight. The dual windows in the back! So unique and I love it! The only thing I would change -and I could have, if I had been patient and found one in my price range- a sunroof. The more sunlight the better! It's a hybrid! I get wonderful gas mileage! The breaks charge the battery, so I never have to charge it! It has an eco mode! So when it's not 100 degrees outside (because it does get warm inside) the engine will cut off whenever you're coming to a stop and saves a ton of gas! I could talk all day long about how I love my Honda Insight!

Great Gas Mileage needs a few more frills.
The gas mileage is solid, about 36 mpg in town and can get 45-50 mpg hwy. Seating is a little cramped, but not terrible. Lots of usable space in the hatch. Lack of available cruise control a real bummer. Some problems with the upholstery puckering. Overall, a solid care in the Honda tradition, no mechanical problems.

Great fuel efficient commuter.
I really enjoy my Honda insight! The drive is smooth and is a great fuel efficient commuter car. It is fun to see my efficiency score at the end of my commute. One downsize is the leg room. I wouldn't recommend the insight for taller people as it is not very comfortable for long distance.

Love my 2013 Honda insight.
Very reliable car. Major engine problems at 70,000 miles. Honda paid to repair it and provided a replacement during repair although it was no longer under warranty. Has a tire issue, low tire pressure warning comes on. Was a valve problem with spare tire. Still have original brakes at 130,000 miles. Have replaced tires 3 times. When new got 48 mpg, now gets 39 mpg. Seats fold down and has decent storage room for such a small car. Difficult to clean under and between seats.

The production version of Honda's insight hybrid is headed for a fanfare-free.
The 2013 insight comes with automatic climate control and a two-speaker CD audio system with an auxiliary input jack. Available features include Bluetooth, a USB port, cruise control, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, an upgraded audio system, voice-controlled navigation and a rearview camera.

Many features to improve driving experience.
My car has no problems to date. It performs perfect.ly still and is very reliable. I have had no issues, and I drive quite a bit. It is comfortable due to a majority of the seat being cloth and not getting too hot. It is very spacious for a small car, and the cargo space is impressive. Cruise control, AUX capabilities, and the Bluetooth feature make it easy to use.

Honda insight - good for low cost drivers.
None that I can think of. The vehicle runs super well and has a great feel. Maintenance is minimal and does not cost much. The only thing is I keep losing hub caps but those are pretty cheap. The hybrid nature of the car allows me to spend much less on gas and I feel good for helping the environment. I is also compact so it is easy to park. Long distance driving is fun because the gas goes for a while.

It is made cheap and no a whole lot of features to select from.
Like the great gas mileage, spacious interior, and sounds system. Do not like the acceleration, but that makes sense with a hybrid.
accountCircle Jenn G on July 15, 2020
It's a hybrid it runs on gas and battery it has a smaller gas tank and the gas lasts longer than other cars with a bigger gas tank
The tire sensor keep going off no gas light no button to open the trunk

I love my Honda insight even though there are some issues.
It is fast, it is compact yet I feel safe. Problems: the plastic trim around the car easily comes off if you hit a curb. I have had some technical automotive issues; and if my battery dies I always have to reset my radio. My engine light and all other lights are always on even though there's nothing wrong.

Honda insight: the good the bad the ugly.
Good comfort and very reliable but is not really fast and cannot accelerate very well. So on the highway sometimes it is difficult especially being on the merging lane. But it is very convenient because with the way I can lay the seats back and fit a lot. Also it is easy to drive in because it has good visibility. But I personally would like something a little better in acceleration. Also the gas mileage is amazing so I cannot complain about that.

It is a hybrid economy car.
When we got it we had to get the motor completely rebuilt because there was a recall on the vehicle because of an oil consumption problem, the car's super slow but it is been dependable since then. It has a hard time getting up hills of any kind and the engine tends to rev up.

Quirky but fun little car.
I have enjoyed my little car. It has some quirks - one thing to note is that the car will 'auto stop' at red lights if it has enough energy, which makes the air conditioner stop as well, and sometimes acceleration is choppy if you do not ease on the gas pedal after being at a complete stop. There have also been 2 or 3 recalls which are very inconvenient.
accountCircle Lauren M on September 21, 2019
Good car, but could be greater.
Something happened to engine that shouldn't happen with a newer car. Very hard to get up to speed on highway. Air conditioner broke within 5 years of having car. I like how it is a hybrid. Great for commuting and saving money on gas as well as saving energy.
accountCircle Sean B on June 26, 2019
That the car gets very good gas mileage. Also that it drives good.
Very good on gas. But very slow. Also not the best looking car.
accountCircle Matthew F on June 5, 2019
I have been able to hold a steady 45-50 mpg
The mpg is amazing. Sadly the acceleration is terrible, and the car turning off takes a while to get used to.
accountCircle Elena P on February 15, 2019
Honda insight: you do not need to compromise to go hybrid.
I love the gas-saving that my insight provides, and the handling is also great, so I do not feel like I had to compromise. The downside is that the door locks are counter-intuitive, so people always try to open them wrong. There's also an issue where the internal car clock continually gets delayed, so I just do not use it anymore.
accountCircle Kevin M on December 20, 2018
Definitely worth the price tag.
Great fuel efficiency. There is a surprising amount of trunk space, especially if you put the back seats down. The interior design is very sleek especially the speedometer/other pieces of the dash displaying using numbers and colors instead of gauges. Wonderful car if you do not mind having a small car. The size is really the only downside, along with the fact that it is not great in the snow.

The one about the oil recall they make you jump through hoops to get it fixed and because it's oil can lead to other problems and they won't fix it
This particular year of insight 2013 has had a lot of recalls more than the others. I hate how the air conditioning doesn't stay on in hybrid mode
