The second row has to be removed to use the full cargo area, the third row doesn’t have a power folding feature and the suspension is firm.

Awesome, great for a family, would recommend, lots of storage and versatility.
So far it is great. I love being able to have the sliding doors and control of them at the driver seat and on the clicker. I love the hatch opens on its own. I love the leather seats. Biggest complaint is with a baby rear facing in a car seat it gets hot and stuffy on them because there are no air vents that blow on them. It is caused a few bouts of car sickness.

Never thought I would own a van, now love it!
Biggest issues is that blu-ray freezes sometime even after being looked at twice. Otherwise great car! One great feature is that if all seats are out & down you can fit a 4x8 sheet of plywood in it. Seats are very comfortable and car is very spacious!

Honda is a very well built car.
Very nice ride. Very dependable. I have 114000 miles on it and it still drives like brand new. I do the oil changes every 3000. Miles and keep up with the normal wear and tear. I drive 800 miles a week. The main thing with any car is to keep up with the repairs on the car and it will run for a very long time.

Great cargo space and attention to details.
I love the thought that went into the design. The air vents for the back seats being at body level instead of in the ceiling is one of my favorite features. Also love that the 3rd row can have 1 or 2 or all 3 seats up or laying down flat for more cargo space.

The van has great features!
We have had our Honda odyssey now for about two months. We are very happy with it. I like how the middle section of the van has slider seats so you can move them to different spots. We can also add an extra seat in there which is very nice. The trunk of the car is very spacious. The back seats are so easy to put up and down. It comes with a vacuum cleaner which works great! We need to use it after our dog is in the car and it is incredible! So far we love our van! It is really nice!

Overview of the 2020 Honda odyssey.
The car has performed above expectations. It has great accessibility with the middle row seats that can slide. This makes it great for getting to the back seats. The engine has a lot of power and more pick up than many other SUVs that I have driven. The vehicle has been very reliable to drive. It has lane assistance which has saved our vehicular from leaving its lane or going off of the road. The car also has self braking features that has stopped a fender bender a time or 2. The display screen is very large and has a lot of features built into it. I like the carplay feature that puts your playlist from your phone onto the main screen as well as your navigation. This makes it very nice to just be able to plug your phone in and go. The leather seats have held up great with 3 kids riding in the car and the car is very easy to clean. The vehicular is very spacious and we can fit lumber front the hardware store down the middle of the car easily all with 3 kids in the car and no one was in danger of getting hit by a board. Making the switch to a minivan from always driving SUVs was tough but boy am I glad that we did. This minivan has completely changed the way I look at SUVs and minivans.

Overall, great storage for your carry ons and gas.
When I want to go on long distance road trips, the Honda odyssey is the way to go because it has a good size trunk storage, and if you need more, you could attach some stuff on the top racks, and it is just great overall. But it has a big gas tank, so it could be beneficial or it could cost a lot.

Awful electronics and transmission
Don't buy - not sure how this is Honda quality - Too many times to the shop for electronics (4x in 1 year + multiple recalls) and transmission seems to be problematic but it "working as intended" - would not buy.

Much better performance in the future.
All right..Some vehicles have recall problems, and other don't also some have comfort advantages, which I am for mostly because it helps for the features that are still to come. In the future vehicles should be a little more higher on performance for sure and reliability as well. Because I am not going to be a customer unless these things are all ahead of time.

Adjust to button on Honda slow.
The button start and drive is hard to adjust to. I didn't realize it was going to be so difficult to adjust. The gas mileage is not as good as my last odyssey. The auto shut off is so stressful the sound is bad on bass. The backup camera slips a lot.

Reliable Honda odyssey with minor issues.
A problem would be the seats are difficult to move there and back along with the passenger doors occasionally getting stuck. The car however is very reliable and the only problem I have encountered was that while driving in the snow a warning light went off that was a false alarm just because of snow covering a camera.

What Do Critics Say About the Honda Odyssey?

  • Consumer Reports says the 2020 Honda Odyssey offers a lot of features to pamper drivers and passengers, with good owner satisfaction scores as it ages.
  • Edmunds rates the Honda Odyssey at 3.3/5, enjoying the strong V6 engine at highway speeds, but doesn’t like that there’s no 360-degree camera offered.
  • Kelley Blue Book users give the Odyssey a 3.5/5, praising the comfortable suspension, but owners don’t like that the base model doesn’t have advanced safety features.

What Common Problems Does the 2020 Honda Odyssey Have?

Common problems found on the 2020 Honda Odyssey include the stereo system freezing, creaking noises in the steering, and some excessive brake wear. Overall, these problems are similar to other minivans on the market, leading to average repair costs as the Odyssey ages.

The stereo system freezing is the most widespread complaint from 2020 Odyssey models, showing up within the first 1,500 miles. There are software updates available for the stereo system which improves its reliability. Most dealerships will install these updates for free during normal servicing, while some charge around $50.

Creaking noises in the steering have also been reported by some Odyssey owners at around 10,000 miles. Usually, the problem is caused by some steering and suspension components coming loose on rough roads. Inspecting and tightening the parts is usually done for free, but if there’s any damaged components, they can cost $150 to $450 to replace.

Excessive brake wear also shows up on 2020 Honda Odyssey models at around 15,000 miles. The front brakes in particular, tend to wear down quickly due to the weight of the van. Replacing the brake pads costs around $150, and rotors are an additional $250 if they have been worn down.

There are nine recalls on the 2020 Honda Odyssey, which is worse than some other minivans from the same year. The most serious recall covers the power door motor, which may open while moving. Honda will replace the outer power door handle on affected models for free. Most of the other recalls cover software issues, which Honda will also update for free.

How Long Will the 2020 Honda Odyssey Last?

A well-maintained 2020 Honda Odyssey can last around 250,000 miles, which is only shorter than the Toyota Sienna. Regular annual maintenance costs are similar to other minivans, according to data provided by Repair Pal, at $507 per year.

As a used 2020 Honda Odyssey reaches 100,000 miles, and depending on the vehicle history report, owners should be prepared to replace the oil pressure sensor for $250, liftgate lock actuator costing $400, along with the alternator, which costs $650.

accountCircle Lacey L

It is been perfectly reliable. I have not encountered any problems with it. All of the features work great. I love the eco mode to drive and I love the snow button for driving in the snow.

How Is the Technology?

The standard entertainment technology is fairly basic, and comes with a 5-inch display with Bluetooth. Optional upgrades include a larger 8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an upgraded stereo, along with a 10.2-inch overhead display.

Standard safety technology is worse than some competitors, and only has a rearview camera.

Optional driver assistance and active safety features include:

  • Front and rear parking sensors
  • Forward automatic emergency braking
  • Lane keeping assist
  • Lane departure warning
  • Blind spot monitoring with cross traffic alert
  • Forward collision warning
  • Road departure warning
  • Adaptive cruise control

Is the 2020 Honda Odyssey a Good Value?

Yes, the 2020 Honda Odyssey is a great value for a practical minivan that offers some of the latest safety features. The blue book fair purchase price ranges from $26,950 to $44,550, making it more than a Kia Sedona or Dodge Grand Caravan. When new, the price range was $30.790 to $47,420. What Engines Come In the Honda Odyssey?

The Honda Odyssey primarily comes with a 3.5-liter V6 engine across its range. This engine delivers a robust 280 horsepower, providing ample power for a vehicle of its size. It’s paired with a ten-speed automatic transmission. The combined fuel economy for this engine is 22 MPG, balancing performance with efficiency. In terms of acceleration, this 3.5-liter V6 engine allows the Odyssey to go from 0-60 MPH in about 7 seconds.

What Colors Does the Honda Odyssey Come In?

How Comfortable Is the Honda Odyssey?

The Honda Odyssey is renowned for its exceptional comfort, making it a top choice for families and long-distance travelers. Inside, the cabin is a haven of relaxation and convenience, designed with passenger comfort in mind. The seats are plush and supportive, with ample cushioning that provides a cozy feel even on longer journeys. The front seats, often equipped with power adjustments and heating options, allow for easy customization to suit individual preferences.

In the rear, the Odyssey’s “Magic Slide” second-row seats are a standout feature. They not only offer easy access to the third row but also allow for versatile positioning, making sure passengers can find their most comfortable seating arrangement. The third row, too, is surprisingly spacious, offering more legroom than many competitors, making it comfortable even for adults on longer trips.

Ride quality in the Odyssey is smooth and refined. The suspension effectively absorbs bumps and road irregularities, providing a serene ride that can soothe even the fussiest of passengers. Noise insulation is another area where the Odyssey excels, with minimal road and wind noise entering the cabin, creating a quiet and peaceful environment.

Climate control is also a strong point, with multi-zone systems allowing different areas of the van to set their preferred temperature. This feature, along with ample air vents throughout the cabin, ensures that all passengers, regardless of where they are seated, can stay comfortable.

How Much Storage Space Does the Honda Odyssey Have?

The 2020 Honda Odyssey offers a generous amount of storage space, skillfully accommodating the diverse needs of families and travelers. With a total cargo capacity of about 158 cubic feet, the Odyssey stands out in its class for its spacious and flexible storage options. This expansive space is achieved when the second and third rows are folded down, offering a vast, flat area perfect for large items.

For example, this space can comfortably fit bulky items such as multiple large suitcases, camping gear, or even a couple of bicycles. When all seats are in use, the cargo space behind the third row is 32.8 cubic feet, still ample enough to hold grocery bags, several backpacks, or a stroller.

In addition to the primary cargo area, the Odyssey is rife with small interior storage solutions. These include a deep center console in the front, perfect for storing small bags, tablets, or snacks. Door pockets in the front and rear are sizable and can hold water bottles and other small items. The Odyssey also features a unique “Magic Slide” second-row seating, which not only allows easy access to the third row but also includes under-seat storage, ideal for keeping toys, books, or other small essentials.

The glove compartment and a hidden storage well in the cargo area provide additional concealed storage spaces, useful for keeping valuables out of sight. Cup holders are strategically placed throughout the cabin, providing convenience for all passengers. With its thoughtful design and abundance of storage options, the 2020 Honda Odyssey adeptly meets the storage needs of modern families and adventurers alike.

What Are the Differences Between Years?

The fifth generation of the Honda Odyssey was launched for the 2018 model year.

2015: No big changes from earlier years.

2016: SE model introduced at a lower price point and shares some features with the Touring Elite.

2017: Acoustic insulating windshield now offered on the EX-L and SE models.

2018: Fully redesigned for the fifth generation with all new technology and styling.

2019: No big changes from earlier years.

2020: Standard ten-speed automatic transmission on all models.

2021: Small exterior styling changes, Honda Sensing is now standard on all models.

How Does the Honda Odyssey Compare to the Competition?

The 2020 Honda Odyssey is a very nice minivan since it offers great reliability ratings, and some of the latest technology is available as an optional upgrade.

The Toyota Sienna is a popular competitor, which costs about $1,500 more. Standard safety features are better in the Toyota Sienna, while the Honda Odyssey has a more configurable cabin. We recommend the Toyota Sienna since it lasts longer, but both are very good minivans worth testing to see which you prefer.

The Chrysler Pacifica is another minivan which costs $2,500 less. Interior materials are more luxurious in the Chrysler Pacifica, while the Honda Odyssey has better reliability ratings as it ages. We recommend the Honda Odyssey since it will be cheaper to own, making it a better long-term value.

A family friendly vehicle.
Very spacious seating with lots of trunk room, heated front seats keep you warm on the harshest winter days, air control in the back seats, along with multiple electrical ports. The sunroof is beautiful and not too big and not too small, the seats are easily adjusted to maximize space when needed. Drives incredibly smooth, I left my phone on the top of the roof and it didn’t fall off for a few miles.

Best 2020 car selection for a family selection.
I love my vehicle, as it is very spacious and the features are much more updated. I love the way it drives, very smooth. Most important to me; I bought it for my 6 year old who has mild cerebral palsy. It is much more easier for him to climb in and out, compared to the Honda pilot I drove before the odyssey. My three children live and appreciate this vehicle. I have had no issues with this vehicle as yet. Nothing, but good personal review!

Absolutely realizable vehicle! Plentiful of space for the whole family or item/luggage storage. Drives/rides smoother than butter. Has several advanced features to assure safety on the ride. Why you should choose carefully when buying the Honda odyssey.
The 2020 Honda odyssey has had transmission problems with older models. The gas mileage is okay. It is recommended not to buy the 2002 and 2005 Honda odyssey as they are the worst. The best Honda odyssey model is the 2018 one. Honda odyssey also warner a low score of 2/5 for reliability.

It is a safe reliable car that gets me from point a to point b efficiently, the gas mileage is amazing, my mother got me this car for my recent birthday, I absolutely love Honda’s as they are one of the safest cars out there, this is absolutely a car I want to teach my future children to drive in.

2020 Honda odyssey elite review.
Love the entertainment system and touchscreen. Very easy to use. Only complaint about it is I am 5’2” so it is a bit of a stretch for me to reach the touchscreen comfortably while driving. The car drives very well. The heated seats are a nice feature and I can warm the car up from the comfort of my house using the key fob.

Odyssey makes a van fun for families.
The Honda odyssey drives very smooth. The ability to open the 2 sliding doors with the key fob is very convenient, especially with small children. The middle row allows you to just use the captain seats it have a full row. The seats are easy to fold down if needed and the trunk is spacious.

You cannot live without this vehicle!
My odyssey is amazing! It gets great gas mileage and is so comfortable. It fits my entire family plus all their various sports gear. And I can even grab groceries on the way home and still have room! It has a shop vac built in that is super convenient especially on beach days. I would recommend this vehicle to anyone!

Shuts down at traffic lights to conserve gas.
Well built solid vehicle. Lots of safety features which is why we started Hondas 6 yrs ago. This is our 3rd one. Includes all side airbags, lane keeping assist and many other safety things. Next vehicle probably will not be an odyssey because we do not really need such a big vehicle. Good gas mileage as well.

Sporting the mom-vehicle in NC.
I have not had any major issues with my vehicle. We have enjoyed the performance, comfort and features. We went with the high end model so we could have features like cooling seats. I enjoy the safety features, including back-up camera. The only issue I have had is playing Spotify on my iPhone through the car, but I think that may be resolvable.

Honda odyssey - the perfect vehicle for children.
The Honda odyssey is the perfect vehicle for traveling on long trips and for kids. You have no idea how convenient it is to hit a button and have the doors open and have the kids climb by themselves. It is also great for transporting large items. The touring model comes packed with tech like cabin watch to watch the kids while on long trips.

The amazing fully loaded Honda odyssey.
Love the performance of the van. Drives very smoothly. The comfort of the van is amazing whether you are driving or sitting in the last row. The middle model is equipped with all the necessary features for our family at a very reasonable cost. The warranty on the vehicle is awesome too.

Amazing features in a very family friendly car.
Smooth driving. Very luxury feel. Very convenient and perfect for families. The push button for the doors and trunk are amazing! Makes loading kids super easy! Engine sounds smooth. The leather interior feels high quality and smells super clean. The navigation and backup camera are a must!

Great! Would make a few tweaks.
I love most aspects of the vehicle. One of the biggest complaints is there is not a compass to show which direction you are driving. There are many features that are helpful, such as the doors automatically locking as you walk away from the car. It is nice that the center row middle seat comes out and the other seats slide, but I think I would prefer the seats that fold into the floor.

Family of 5: odyssey for the win.
I bought my van new off the lot. We have had it since July and have had no problems with it at all. It drives very smoothly and is perfect for my family of five. The trunk space sold me! My entire family can pack for a trip and everything fits in the trunk without lowering a seat. It gets great gas mileage too!

Honda odyssey lover for life.
Drives really smooth and is very comfortable. Car didn't alert me to a car behind me and I hit it. Love the automatic side doors and trunk. Lots of great storage! I wish the van had the turn screen that appears when you put right blinker on. It would really help with the blind spots.

Great van for families with multiple children!
I am very impressed with the overall comfort of the vehicle. It drives very smoothly and has been easy to learn how to use. The car seat configuration makes it a great vehicle families with multiple small children. It has a sunroof, leather seats, heated seats, everything you would want to drive around comfortably and happily.
