Needs a lot of programing improvement, pls solve dry start problem.
Off alignment after tire replacement with new tires. Also genesis have a dry start problem. Every time engine start dry start noise is always present. Interior leather worn out quickly even with extra care. Also security alarm, abs problem. Exterior chrome trim is not real chrome. About the engine, it's a powerful engine. This vehicle have a lot of space and head room, and even trunk space.

My car is the best I have had so far drives smooth and easy no problems what’s so ever it takes me everywhere I need to go and never has it failed me I am currently working on putting in a turbo kit and turn it into a project I want to make it loud and fast I want to make it look nice sound nice and shift nice and smooth.

An affordable luxury vehicle.
It is a very comfortable and reliable vehicle. I have not had any performance problems. It is a decent luxury looking vehicle. Rides smoothly. It is very spacious inside as well as the trunk. It has seat warmers in the front seats. Definitely my number one car.

Minor problems, great positives. Good gas mileage to go with good horsepower.
Problems: paint discoloration and flaking (white); sunroof jammed open; passenger mirror stripped gear for collapsing. No mechanical issues; great gas mileage (33+ Hwy) with good horsepower (333). Very comfortable ride with good acceleration. Bought used and worth the price.

Amazing and reliable car.
I have had no problems with my car. It has never broken down on me. Only issues I have had with my car is ac problems which was fixed easily. The car runs great, has amazing gas mileage and is nice and sporty. Sound system is impeccable and the car itself is spacious considering how it only has 2 doors.

Car that packs enough power and can look flashy with enough love and care
Great for people that enjoy small vehicles. For a four cylinder vehicle it packs plenty of power and is sporty. If you're looking for luxury you may want to look elsewhere but, if you are looking for a car that you can have some fun with. Gas mileage isn't the greatest as it will average about 23 miles combined highway and street. Overall it is an affordable car that gets the job done and has enough power for those that want their car to do a little extra

2012 genesis is a reliable fun sports car.
120k miles and no problems at all. Take care of it buy getting oil changes and the car has been great. Stick shift is smooth and reliable and have not had any problems with it. Brakes are good. The turbo has not gone out and is still working well. Little bit of turbo lag but still a quick car.

Exceptional luxury without the luxury price tag.
If you want a luxury car and do not want to pay luxury prices, the genesis is the way to go. I have all the features I need and more. I am not fond of the gas mileage, but it is a v8 so I knew that going into the purchase. It handles very well and has the get up and go when needed. It is large enough to seat four adults quite comfortably. The trunk is huge! Overall, I am very happy with the car.

2012 Hyundai genesis coupe!
This luxurious, sporty, and dynamic car is a good car for younger people! The only problems I have had with it is minor electronic malfunctions that can be easily fixed at an affordable cost. The car is very reliable and offers the maximum comfort with soft cushioned seats that are electrically powered. It features a push start turbo engine and even comes with an automatic/manual transmission system.

Genesis is comfortable and performs well.
Genesis has no problems at all. Very reliable only replaced tires and battery as far as maintenance. Performance wise the engine gets great gas mileage and fast acceleration very comfortable seat heaters and feature heavy with electric seat adjustment.

The genesis coupe in action.
It has been a nice care overall. We did have trouble with the motor and had to drop a pretty penny. It drives pretty good and looks sporty. Wheels have been hard to rotate. The newer models I think are made better. I have cloth seats and prefer those over leather. It has a nice size trunk also.

It's a very reliable vehicle. Fast, smooth and luxurious. If I will have to buy another one, I will definitely buy it again. It has 333 horsepower and 276 pd-ft of torque which is plenty of both. 0-60 around 5 sec which is pretty fast. I literally love this car.

My vehicle is reliable. It does really well on gas and the mileage is good. I have had it for 3 years going on 4. I've had a few starter problems but I got it fixed for a reasonable price. The features are great. My favorite feature is the Bluetooth with great speakers. The AC and heat work wonders as well. I also had a fuse problem where my horn wasn't working but like the starter problem, I got it fixed within a reasonable price as well. It's also very spacious, the trunk can hold many items/belongings which is ideal for traveling.

The Genesis is in the same class as a Mercedes or BMW as far as luxury. The bonus is that it is 1/3 of the cost of maintenance as the other luxury vehicles.
Great car.....only thing I don't like is that it has rear wheel drive, and therefore, is terrible in the snow! I believe it was changed to AWD the following year model

Absolutely love driving this car!
I love the inside, nice, clean, fast, and efficient for the small trips that I must take. But the only downside is the size of the vehicle is, it's a little small for people in the backseat, but my family and friends don't seem to mind anyway! I do really enjoy being able to easily pull into parking spaces as well, unlike my last vehicle.

2012 Hyundai genesis 3.8l faulty timing chain tensioner used from factory.
The timing chain tensioner went bad on my 2012 Hyundai genesis 3.8l and from online blogs and forums it seems to go bad on many of the Hyundai genesis from this particular run of this model. Hyundai will not cover this under the warranty as I was told by the dealer that the rattling noise from the engine that is caused by a faulty timing chain tensioner needs to be at least 5 seconds or longer to be considered an issue. The timing chain tensioners seem to fail around 60,000 miles.

I love my Hyundai genesis coupe. I've never had any major problems that I haven't myself caused. The minor issues are just wear and tear from it being 8 years old. Genesis '12 is a great buy for the money!
I have the cooling seat which is wonderful in hot summer. Like how the front seat moves back & forth when starting and turning off the car. Easy to get in and out of. My car has a very smooth and quiet ride with very good pickup for accelerating passed another car. Classy good looks!

Love my 2012 lambada powered r spec never had an issue drives great get 23.5 to 25.5 combined shifts like brand new took it on a trip and got 27.6 going and 27.3 coming back I can live with that did an exhaust mod and cold air intake and a tune using still stock injectors and fuel pump still get mpgs and reliability and 400 hunted ponys to the rear tires on the Dyno doing a 4 the g Sr pull yo 64 hun rpm love it but I don't hotrid mine around I short shift around town hwy 75 to 80 seems to be it's sweet spot wouldn't trade it for nothing

This is the fastest car I have ever had. It accelerates quick.
The car itself is GREAT. The only issue that I have with the vehicle is the aftermarket coilovers that were added to it, making it impossible for me to get around without bottoming out. The car is quick, fun to drive, smooth and overall great. The touch screen radio is still working perfectly, the speakers that come in the car are really good, I didn't have to do anything to the speakers. Even though it is a coup, there is still a lot of room in the front, it looks spacious as you are driving, however, the back is pretty small of course. I would recommend this car.

My affection toward cars.
I was a die hard in the wool Lincoln town car fan, my last couple being a 2004 & 2010. Then they sent us searching elsewhere by discontinuing the town car. I was forced to shop elsewhere. It was my 13 year old son who introduced me to the genesis. A single test drive in a 2012 genesis 4. 6 sedan and half way through I was asking if they had 2! My banker called it the corvette killer! I have actually had a Corvette, and that is a whole different world - let alone car. That is in no way a slight to my Genny! She is a beast, both a technology wizard, but with the old fashioned gumption to back it up!

Very reliable car. Fast for a sedan. One issue I read a lot about is the clicking when starting your car. It is loud and like others not sure what it is but time will tell a lot of forums say it is not a bad thing just a annoying thing. Comfort level is 10/10. Mine is fully loaded so I got all the bells a whistles and there's no other way to have it.

Hyundai genesis rattles when starting.
The vehicle makes a rattling sound on start up, but it goes away then runs like a champ. If it wasn't for the rattling sound I would absolutely love this car. The dealer would not cover the rattling sound under warranty. Sad as the car is very good other than that.

I love the black color and the smart features
I love the car it rides smooth and is a great luxury car for room with kids or anyone in general. It uses little gas and gets great gas mileage..I never have a problem affording the gas price. I like the back up camera, Stereo system is great. It has heated seats, which are great for winter. The mirrors go in automatically when lock and the steering wheel adjusts in and out every time it is turned off and on.

My Hyundai genesis is awesome. Its s hand me down from my sister. The car check engine light has been on. They say it's a problem with the gas line, I still need to fix it after a year. The car had never broke down on me, I feel it's reliable. Its very comfortable and roomy. Everyone thinks its a Mercedes Benz or a high end luxury car. They never think it's a Hyundai. I love my car and hope it last a long time.

My experience with the 2012 Hyundai genesis coupe 3.8 track.
I have really enjoyed my 2012 Hyundai genesis coupe 3.8 track edition. I have had the car since 2014 and not had any major mechanical problems. I drive a standard 6 speed and really love the cars performance. For the size and horsepower (306 hp) of the engine, the gas mileage is fair at 17 mpg city and 27 mpg highway. I run my car with only stock parts and have not added any aftermarket performance parts. Some things to look out for on this car are more cosmetic than mechanical. The steering wheels on these early model genesis coupes are notorious for the shedding. Meaning that the material used in the design of the steering wheel starts to peel off easily and kind makes a mess on your hands. I purchased an inexpensive steering wheel wrap fixed the issue for under $10.00. The other thing to consider when purchasing this car is that clear coat on the spoiler, rear view mirrors, and door handles will start to peel. The body of the car itself will not peel, but the external accessories may. I am not saying that all cars will do this, but mine certainly has. Perhaps a different grade of clear coat was applied to these parts in the factory during assembly. The car comes equipped with brembo brakes, which is a high performance brake system. The ceramic pads last a long time. I changed my front brakes pads for the first time after 70,000 miles! I recommend getting the windows tinted in the genesis coupe. I live in a very hot environment and the sun finally started to split the leather seats from too much heat and sun exposure. Other than that, I have really liked the car and recommend it to anyone who likes a unique sporty coupe.

My car is extremely comfortable. It has individual controls for heating and cooling, including for the back seat. The driver's seat even has cooling options. It is a smooth ride and has a built in navigation system and backup camera.

I like that it is a low cost luxury car.
It has great mileage, great performance. The only problem is the battery. I'll try to start the car and it’ll cut off. When I press the battery box it’ll cut back on with no problem. The mechanic said the battery is alright but the same problem keeps occurring.

Reliable and cost effective. Might not the best fanciest car, but economical.
I've had problems pumping the gas. For whatever reason, there are some pumps at gas stations where the pumping will automatically keep stopping. You then have to manually hold the pump to fill your tank.
