Alex Showalter
Jul 12, 2023

The 2018 Infiniti QX60 lasts around 200,000 miles with some minor smoke and safety system issues reported. At $21,999 to $28,450, it’s a good value for a comfortable luxury SUV with reasonable running costs as it ages.

Passenger room is great throughout the cabin, the V6 engine offers decent power for its size and the suspension is very smooth at highway speeds.
dislikeFilled The Bad
The base stereo system is out of date, advanced safety features are only offered as optional upgrades and repair costs can get expensive if anything breaks.

Is the 2018 Infiniti QX60 a Good Used SUV?

  • Overall Rating 8/10 – 2018 is a good year for the Infiniti QX60, although it’s not a leader in any category. Owner reviews praise the smooth suspension, upscale interior, along with the available safety technology.
  • Interior, Comfort & Cargo 8/10 – Interior materials are nice, but not as luxurious as some competitors, the seats are comfortable, cargo space is also decent for its size.

  • Safety 8/10 – The 2018 QX60 is safe, earning a perfect 5-star rating in government crash tests. It comes standard with a rearview camera, while adaptive cruise control, along with lane keep assist are available as optional upgrades.
  • Gas Mileage 7/10 – Fuel economy is okay at up to 22 MPG, giving 429 miles of range from the 19.5 gallon tank. Gas costs are $9 cheaper than average, at $269 per month.
  • Value 8/10 – The 2018 Infiniti QX60 is less expensive than other luxury SUVs, although depreciation is also faster than some competitors.

The driving performance of the SUV is fantastic, while getting great gas mileage
The ride is very smooth, the performance is better than most Crossover suvs,

Very smooth and comfortable ride. Great family car for 5 - 7 person family.
Very nice style and trim, smooth ride, comfortable leather seating. Heated seats with climate control for heating on cold nights and ac on hot days. Auto start feature from one click on your car key remote. Great steering control and brake system. Roomie middle and back third row seating and spacious trunk.

My favorite car with the nicest interior.
I had always admired the look of this car. Once I got in and experienced the luxurious interior I knew I had to have it. I have had other luxury or semi luxury cars but this is by far the nicest car I have ever owned. It drives well, it has all the options and it is spacious and roomy without being oversized and hard to maneuver.

Best car for a family, fits all needs.
There's a lot of space and it has everything you would want in a car. The driving is smooth with no feeling even when going fast. The gas lasts a long time. I mostly love this car because of the three extra seats in the back and I also really enjoy how big the trunk of the car is as well.

Infiniti SUV detail review.
The features on this vehicle are outdated. Otherwise it is a comfortable ride. The trunk space is a bit small when 3rd row is up. If the features on this vehicle were upgraded such as dashboard, car play, it would be a great vehicle. Another downside, the ac does not really reach the 3rd row.

Great parking assist that I find invaluable.
I have had no problems with my infiniti vehicle. It is so comfortable, drives smoothly and has many safety features that I love. The parking assist is great and is priceless for parallel parking.

Cozy and comfortable for all.
I love the infiniti QX60. It's is so comfortable and spacious for our family. It's accommodates our every need in a vehicle. We're able to drive it within the city limits and get good gas mileage and it's is a smooth ride when we drive on vacations. The third row is convenient when we have guests in town.

Mercedes c300 is the perfect car for you.
No problems. Completely reliable. Very fast car and easy to handle. Super comfortable. Can go a long way in the car and will be perfectly secure. Only negative is that you cannot rotate the tires. It is got cruise control, cell phone screen mirroring, paddle shifters, back up camera, driver side mirror and rear side mirror have self tinting for night driving. Also when you open the door, a Mercedes emblem shines on the ground.

Not very reliable car as the entertainment center display blacked out in 60000miles

Ok vehicle I wouldn't purchase another one
Shaking when driving service roads or sitting idle sometimes no light comes on unable to detect what the problem is. I have told the dealership about the issue but nothing can be done without the check engine light being on. I had to also put it in the shop after 9 or ten months
accountCircle Shaz K
It is a nice looking but not satisfying.
There is random noise. Brakes grinding. The tire pressure is never balanced. The cup holder is too small. The navigation system is impossible and never gives correct traffic congestion and that is with the paid subscription. If I didn't buy this vehicle I would have gotten a Honda.

I’ve had to infinities in the last five years
As far as I’m concerned they’re way overpriced for what they are you could save quite a bit of money and buy the same thing if you bought a pathfinder to replace the QX 60 which is what we have nowI went to trade it in 14 months after we bought it inthey would barely giveme nothing. I don’t trust the braking system either two weeks ago my wife was going down the highway in something blew out of behind a back of a truck. She believed she was a Cousy only thing I can figure out is it Must a hit the sensor and the brakes locked up completely on the highway she did a complete turnaround and was facing the other way luckily there was no traffic coming or following her but she was very lucky to get out of that deal alive.

A great family roadtripper.
The car has a great design, very thoughtfully crafted, details inside make the ride comfortable for long road trips. In addition, the salon is very spacious and a perfect fit for a family, you can fit 3 large suitcases, even a children's bike. My favorite part is the wheel is heated during the winter.

Infiniti good on the outside, needs some comfort improvements on the inside
The Infiniti QX60 has a major blind spot when using the side mirror on the passenger side. I do not find the ride to be all that comfortable, neither the seats nor the driver of the vehicle. It looks nice from the outside, so in that respect I think the exterior design is nice.

Tires/Missing Features
Overall this is an decent car. There are a couple of features that are missing and the Toyo OEM tires are terrible. For a car in this price range and class it should have cooled seats as well as lane assist on all versions. The tires should last longer than 25,000 miles. I realize that this is a "luxury" SUV, but having to replace tires at 25,000 miles is ridiculous.

What Do Critics Say About the Infiniti QX60?

  • Consumer Reports says the 2018 Infiniti QX60 offers a plush and roomy interior, with good owner satisfaction scores as it ages.
  • Edmunds rates the QX60 at 3.5/5, enjoying the smooth suspension at highway speeds, but doesn’t like the poor off-road capabilities.
  • Kelley Blue Book users give the QX60 a 4.1/5, praising the passenger room in all three rows, but owners don’t like the lack of power compared to other SUVs.

What Common Problems Does the 2018 Infiniti QX60 Have?

Common problems found on the 2018 Infiniti QX60 include minor smoke from the exhaust, safety system issues, along with paint fade issues. Overall, most of the problems are relatively minor, leading to average repair costs as the QX60 ages.

Minor smoke from the exhaust is the most widespread complaint on the 2018 Infiniti QX60, showing up at around 45,000 miles. Usually the problem is caused by oil getting into the intake, then being burnt through the engine. Replacing one gasket usually fixes the problem, and can be done for around $150, depending on local labor rates.

Safety system issues have also been reported by 2018 QX60 owners in the first 10,000 miles. Usually, the problem is caused by sensors not working properly. In some cases, simply resetting the safety system from the screen and buttons can fix it. There are other cases where you may need to replace some sensors on the bumpers, which cost around $250.

Paint fade issues are another problem mentioned by 2018 QX60 owners at around 55,000 miles. The hood and roof are large flat surfaces which sometimes fade when they are left in direct sunlight unprotected. The only way to really fix paint fade is by repainting the affected areas, at a cost of around $1,000 per panel.

There is one recall on the 2018 QX60, which is better than some other SUVs on the market from the same year. The recall covers brake fluid which can leak into the ABS pump, increasing the risk of a fire. Infiniti will replace the ABS actuator for free on affected models.

How Long Will the 2018 Infiniti QX60 Last?

A well-maintained 2018 Infiniti QX60 can last around 200,000 miles, which is shorter than the long-lasting Lexus RX. Regular annual maintenance costs are reasonable for a luxury SUV, according to data provided by Repair Pal, at $640 per year.

As a used 2018 QX60 reaches 100,000 miles, and depending on the vehicle history, owners should be prepared to replace the transmission mounts for $320, starter motor costing $675, along with the exhaust manifold gasket which costs $900.

accountCircle Pat K

It always been a very reliable car. We have not experienced any problems with it. Always starts and runs smoothly.

How Is the Technology?

Entertainment technology is good with a standard 7-inch central touchscreen display. Optional upgrades include a larger 8-inch touchscreen, dual-screen rear-seat entertainment system, along with a more powerful Bose stereo system.

Standard safety technology is a bit worse than other luxury SUVs, only offering a rearview camera.

Optional driver assistance features include:

  • 360-degree parking camera
  • Blind spot monitoring
  • Forward collision warning with brake assist
  • Lane departure warning
  • Automatic high-beam headlights
  • Front and rear parking sensors
  • Rear cross traffic alert
  • Adaptive cruise control
  • Lane keep assist

Is the 2018 Infiniti QX60 a Good Value?

Yes, the 2018 Infiniti QX60 is a decent value for an entry-level luxury midsize SUV since it’s reasonably reliable. The blue book fair purchase price ranges from $21,999 to $28,450, making it less than a BMW X5 or Audi Q7. When new, the price range was $43,300 to $45,100. Depreciation is worse than some other SUVs, losing about 15% of its current value per year.

What Engines Come In the Infiniti QX60?

The 2018 Infiniti QX60 comes with a single engine option, which is a 3.5-liter V6. This engine generates an impressive 295 horsepower, providing ample power while getting up to 22 MPG. It comes standard with a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). Performance is okay, taking 7.1 seconds to go from 0-60 MPH, and it can tow up to 5,000 pounds when properly equipped.

What Colors Does the Infiniti QX60 Come In?

How Comfortable Is the Infiniti QX60?

The 2018 Infiniti QX60 is well-regarded for its comfort-focused design. With its spacious and high-quality cabin, the vehicle provides an exceptionally comfortable ride for both drivers and passengers alike. The SUV comes standard with three rows of seating, accommodating up to seven passengers, making it an excellent choice for larger families or those who usually have multiple passengers.

The seats are well-cushioned and supportive, designed to make even long road trips enjoyable. Leather-appointed seats, along with optional heated and ventilated front seats, add to the overall comfort and luxury of the vehicle. Additionally, the second-row seats are not only comfortable but also slide and tilt for easy access to the third row.

Regarding ride comfort, the QX60 shines with its smooth and composed handling. Its suspension is tuned for comfort, absorbing road imperfections with ease and providing a quiet, serene cabin experience. Despite its size, the vehicle offers good maneuverability and a pleasant driving experience, further enhancing comfort.

How Much Storage Space Does the Infiniti QX60 Have?

The 2018 Infiniti QX60 is a midsize luxury SUV that offers substantial storage capacity to accommodate your storage needs. Its interior is versatile and roomy, providing three rows of seating along with considerable cargo space. When all seats are upright, the QX60 offers a competitive 15.8 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third row. This can comfortably house a couple of small suitcases or your weekly grocery haul.

For larger loads, the SUV provides more room when the third-row seats are folded down. In this configuration, cargo space expands significantly to 40.5 cubic feet. This should easily accommodate larger items such as a bicycle, or a good amount of camping equipment.

Furthermore, if you need maximum cargo space, you can fold down both the second and third rows, expanding the cargo area to an impressive 76.5 cubic feet. This substantial capacity would easily accommodate larger pieces of furniture, multiple large suitcases for an extended vacation, or even something as bulky as a kayak. This makes the 2018 Infiniti QX60 a practical choice for those seeking a luxurious vehicle without sacrificing storage capacity.

What Are the Differences Between Years?

The first generation of the Infiniti QX60 was introduced for the 2014 model year.

2015: Reprogrammed transmission designed to simulate shifting from a regular automatic.

2016: New headlights and tail lights for a more modern look, more sound insulation, and Infiniti concierge.

2017: More powerful engine, larger multimedia screen, and a hands-free liftgate offered.

2018: Rear door alert added to all models.

2019: Some models renamed, but other than that no serious changes.

2020: No major changes from earlier years.

2022: Fully redesigned for the second generation after not being offered in 2021 with new interior, exterior, and technology.

How Does the Infiniti QX60 Compare to the Competition?

The 2018 Infiniti QX60 is a nice luxury SUV offering a lot of features while still being a reasonably budget-friendly option compared to some of the German competitors out there.

The Nissan Pathfinder is another midsize SUV which costs about $3,500 less. Both the Infiniti QX60 and Nissan Pathfinder are built on the same platform, while the Infiniti QX60 offers a more luxurious interior and better technology. We recommend the Infiniti QX60 since you get a more up-to-date SUV for the money.

The Acura MDX is a popular luxury competitor which costs about $2,500 more. Passenger room is a bit better in the Acura MDX, while the Infiniti QX60 offers some better standard technology features. We recommend the Acura MDX since it has better predicted reliability ratings as it ages, although both are very similar and worth test driving to see which you prefer.

Sleek interior and exterior- great car for a cool mom!
My car is really nice as far as aesthetic - the outside and inside look really nice and I am very happy with the quality of the interior materials (leather seating, dash and door trim). It is loaded with power and when you need it to go... It definitely goes. I definitely do not like that it requires premium fuel due to the cost. I am ok with but do not love the interface for the screen/radio/etc. It does the job but it does not have some of the bells and whistles that my husband’s truck has (I.E. Alerting you when your favorite songs come on). Overall I am happy with the car.

Infiniti qx60 is easy to drive on and it offers safety.
My car is easy to drive, so convenient, has a lot of space, car seat are comfortable, back camera really helps, and the sound that my car makes when I get close to an object is what it makes amazing and safe. The downside of SUVs are it use a lot of gas. The top down of the car is optional you can have it or not. There are also a big space which is very helpful when you want to straighten your legs.

The most comfortable SUV I have ever driven.
No real issues with my Infiniti. The car is very comfortable on long trips and the design is great - you are high up so you can see everything around you and although it is an SUV, it is not huge. The 3rd row is fine for 2 medium sized adults <200#'s. The safety features are great and all the electronic features are very intuitive to use. Key features you take for granted: remote start, heated steering wheel and seats (work great), and the wipers that adjust to the outside conditions. The gas mileage is not great, but it is what I expected for a 7 seat SUV. We drive a lot to visit my son in college (3 hour trip) and compared to our new Subaru outback, the Infiniti is so much more comfortable and quiet on the road. You hear very little outside noise when driving. The car handles great at high speeds (highway) and in snow. I highly recommend the Infiniti SUV.

So problems: the horn does not work after a while, so get repairs. Performance: very good for long trips, nice and relaxing and fun to the family. Reliability: I'd give it a thumbs up. Comfort and features: cameras all around the car, automatic trunk, can not be driven without the key, 2 rows in the back, and if you want more space, put 1 or both rows of seats in the back for extra space.

Smooth riding infiniti qx60 makes for comfortable ride.
This car has very good visibility and many features that help make a safe drive when on the road. Notification of someone in the lane right next to you on either side is a great help. There is good acceleration and a smooth ride. Those that ride in the back seat say it is very comfortable and easy to see. Like the way the second row of seats can move forward and back. Gas mileage is good. I find the lock system somewhat confusing. When I think all doors are unlocked, they often are not. Then I have to go back and figure out which are and which are not.

Low performance air conditioning
Excellent vehicle except for the air conditioning. We live in sunny south Florida and the AC takes a very long time to cool down the cabin. Dealship service department stated that due to its size, the best thing to do is to roll down all the windows and let outside air circulate in the vehicle to help cool it down. There is usually not enough time to do that. Maybe a larger ac unit would have helped in this size vehicle.

My car performance is excellent. It is very stable and comfortable. It runs very smooth and noiseless. The interior of my car is very roomy and spacious. Most of my passengers just love it and say awesome. The only problem that I face is accelerating, the acceleration is not as agile as the competitors. It takes a little time to run fast.

Whole family is happy with my infiniti qx60.
I love driving this car. It is reliable and comfortable. I cannot believe how fast the pick up is for such a big car. My husband does not usually like driving a large car, but he always comments how nice my qx60 drives. I will most likely get the same type of car next time I buy a car, because it is so comfortable and drives so nicely.

Great engine great performance.
Great performance. Reliable ride very spacious and love the luxurious interior love the strong engine amazing navigation system. The only thing I do not like about it that steering wheel is tight and the 3 row seat does not have enough knee space and is missing the panorama sunroof.

Love the space and it is roomy and reliable!
The qx60 is super reliable. This is the third one I have owned or leased. Been getting them since 2014. It is very comfortable and the features are great. No problems since trading in the 2014 which had some issues. I just do not like the color I picked.

The great Infiniti and its amazing reliability.
Very reliable, safe, and great for big families. Its performance is very great, can drive long distances, great trunk space. Comfortable, and a safe choice. Very family inclusive. I can get to places quickly and have never had a problem, gas intake is good, and is worth its price.

The perks of the Infiniti qx60.
The car is very spacious which is good for tall people and average to large family. Leather interior gets really hot in the summer but makes for easy cleaning. It is made for driving in most terrains. There are many charging areas and back passenger controlled ac.

The driving performance of the SUV is fantastic, while getting great gas mileage
The ride is very smooth, the performance is better than most Crossover suvs,

Beautiful car in every way.
I love my red sport 400 q60 from Infiniti. No issues with it. The sunburst red paint on the exterior is stunning. Red leather seats and interior are also beautiful. Fun to drive. Comfortable. Huge trunk. Lots and lots of extras. Layout of dash and console areas is spectacular!!

Why I love my QX60 , it is my 4th Infiniti purchase
It is easy to drive, it has a cockpit like drivers seat, gets good gas mileage, has great cameras to assist in navigating parking, backing up, etc.

Self start and navigation Infiniti.
Gas mileage is my issue, love the SUV however gas is expensive and not many miles. I love the features such as keyless entry and starting the car from the house. Heated seats and steering wheel are nice to have. Sunroof is nice too. I love the room when family has to ride with third row seating.

Love the remote start. First time with the feature. Great on the hot days.
The infiniti qx60 is a great vehicle. Bought it because it has a roomy third row seat for grandkids—and comfortable too. Overall plenty of room with great sound system. Would like a little better gas mileage. Overall really enjoy driving and riding in the qx60.

The important thing to know is how to utilize all of the cars safety features.
I love the interior and smooth ride. I also like the safety features (ex: light to show my blind spots, back/front cameras and braking sensors). I would like the car to automatically close side mirrors when car is off (the Lincoln has this feature) as well as for the seat to move back when the car is off (the seat only adjusts back when u open the door, again this is a feature the Lincoln has). One other feature I would love to see is a larger sunroof. This has two but the front is the only one that opens and it is very small (in comparison to our Lincoln).

Easy to handle with good acceleration.
Very comfortable ride both front seat and backseat. Find the electronics somewhat difficult to navigate--have to pull out the manual all too frequently. Good gas mileage but smaller tank than I am used to.

Overall the Infiniti qx60 is a stylish, eye catching vehicle.
It is very comfortable to drive. It has seat warmers which is extremely helpful when my back hurts and when it is cold outside. It gives good gas mileage. I have a family of five and it seats everyone comfortably which is awesome whether traveling in-town or out-of-town. The truck is a nice size and it also has hidden storage available by raising a compartment with additional nice size for storing items or groceries. There is also various outlets throughout the front, middle and back seating areas which can be used for charging your phone and/or other electronic devices. This is definitely a huge plus when traveling and my girls love it! Everyone has their own outlet for charging their iPhone, iPad and/or airpods. My vehicle also has a sunroof which I enjoy on those spring days and nights; when it cool outside and not warm enough for air conditioning.

My vehicle is very good and has really cool features.
I really love my vehicle. It has great seats, smooth driving, and is overall very good. It has rear view mirrors which come in handy a lot.

Great parking assist that I find invaluable.
I have had no problems with my infiniti vehicle. It is so comfortable, drives smoothly and has many safety features that I love. The parking assist is great and is priceless for parallel parking.
