It is amazing. It handles really well and everything.
I love my car! I love the way it drives. And I love the look of it! Not so great on gas though, but it is worth it.
accountCircle Justin G
I think that the car uses a reasonable amount of gas per mile
I personally think that the trunk size could be much bigger

Super spacious Jeep Commander
I love the boxy body type of my vehicle. My favorite part is the optional third row of seating. I wish Jeep still had a three row vehicle. I also love the power in the hemi engine. I have had to replace the alternator. My vehicle is also very spacious, there is plenty of headroom and space between driver and passengers.

Power of a V8 Hemi, luxurious interior, highest towing capacity of an SUV
I bought the Jeep Commander for its towing capacity, It has the highest towing capacity of any SUV. It rides much nicer than a truck and I like that I can haul a lot within it when the weather is not great. The back seats fold down VERY easily for extra cargo space. The rear cargo space is perfect sized for my two large dogs, as well. I also like that it has a V8 Hemi engine. It has excellent acceleration on hills, even when hauling. The all-time 4-wheel -drive also means that I don't have to bother putting it into 4-wheel when I need to, it is automatically always there. I love that it will sense and apply traction where needed, so I never have to worry about getting stuck out in snow or mud. If I need to, I can also use shift manually or put it into lower 4-wheel-drive for extra power. The interior is very luxurious, spacious, and well laid out. I really wanted a Jeep Wrangler, but am very pleased that I got the Commander instead. It suits my purposes much better and I've really fallen in love with it.

MY JEEP COMMANDER IS OUTSTANDING!
This is our third Jeep Commander. That speaks volumes about how much we love this vehicle. It has been extremely reliable. I think my favorite feature is the memory seats. The memory is programmed with my settings for seat, pedal, mirrors and radio; and my husband's settings as well. At the push of a button, all the settings are custom for either of us. The rear-view camera is wonderful and the key fob activated rear hatch opening feature is very helpful. The third-row stadium seats are not spacious. The front seats are very spacious and comfortable. The heated front and second row seats are very nice in the winter. The gas mileage is not great, but we knew that when we bought it.

Has 4 by 4 drive. Rommie.
Gas cap triggers the check engine light when it cold outside. When the weather warms up easy to reset the check engine light yourself. Have to drive vehicle 50-100 miles before it disappears. Which it is a pain. Only problem I have with this vehicle.

My favorite form of transportation.
It has everything I need for transportation. I can ride 8 people with comfort. Also allows me to do light hauling. I get pretty good mileage from 14 gallon tank. So far I have had low maintenance. It gives me the ability to have good visual with the mirrors. The speakers work well and I have Sirius radio so I have a selection of good music.

2010 jeep commander: you could do worse.
It was bought used. The older it gets, the more problems we have. Currently, the front drive axles need to be replaced and the seats are very uncomfortable. It gets terrible gas mileage and the air conditioner quit working. That is a problem living in the Texas panhandle.

One interesting detail is that it is very safe.
Jeep is very reliable in terms of safety, drives very well but gas is extremely expensive for it, as it only goes about 15 miles per gallon. My ac has gone out several times as well, but that may be because of the age and wear and tear of the vehicle.

Have vehicle inspected before you buy it.
Terrible gas mileage. It is nice that the seats are heated. I bought it used 2 yrs. Ago & have had to put a bit of money into it. Brakes, rotors & calipers. New heater core., ball joints. Make sure you have a vehicle inspected before you buy it! Buy from a reputable dealer.

Third row of seats (a total of seven), or it is a good amount of cargo space.
The car is still running, despite an owner who is highly irresponsible and lazy. It is a comfortably roomy car.

Hemi is the only way to go.
The 6 cylinder model has absolutely no power and gets the same mpg as the hemi. Stay away from the small engine at all costs. The aerodynamics are also subpar. The wind noise at highway speeds is quite apparent. Any speed above 70mph lowers the mpg significantly.

Good vehicle, drives well, vent blowers have gone out a couple times.
Drives well, minor issues every once in a while related to heat/ac blowers going out but is easily fixed. Otherwise is a good vehicle. Not very noisy to drive, not very bumpy. Has a lot of room for storage. We have had issues with seat belts in the back not working.

Gas guzzler without power, loud engine but roomy with ac

Jeep commando the best.
My jeep commando is an excellent vehicle. It is both highly recommended for off road and on the road driving. The 4 wheel drive is fantastic and handles very well. The engine is not very good on gas mileage-but the power is awesome. It also handles very well in the snow and on the beach in 4 wheel drive.

Best jeep I have ever owned. Lots of room, can travel well with 2 or 7.
I have leather interior, 3 rows, moonroof & sunroof. Love how the 2nd row & 3rd row are stadium seats so they sit higher than the driver. I have over 180,000 miles & never had any major engine issues. I have owned since it had 5 miles on it. I drive a lot as you can tell I have put 3 sets of tires on it during its life.

Pros from Owners

likeFilled Brittany A.

The jeep commander is Large, multi-passenger, safe, and reliable. Have moved several times and did not have to rent a moving van because of large size. Seats are adjustable. This car has served me well.

likeFilled Kathy T.

Never lets me down in the snow. No major repairs because regular maintenance is done. Having a third row of seating makes the cargo space very large. The v6 gives me the power I need to travel up steep mountains and holds me back when returning back down.

Cons from Owners

dislikeFilled Brittany A.

Hard to park, they no longer make the Commander anymore, it is starting to get old and experience a lot of problems, the exterior is made of cheap material and is cracked all along the bottom. Has many scratches just from everyday use.

dislikeFilled Kathy T.

There is to much leg room for passengers in the second and third row. If you put up the third row seats there is no room for storage. The air conditioner has had a leak and has been dyed multiple times but a hole can not be found.
