Its roomy has a weather service on it and changes in each town you go through, automatically turns radio down as you drive and controls are on the steering wheel handy. Don't have to get out to put in 4 wheel drive .

2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee Review: Great Buy
I bought my Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited second hand from a good friend. The truck is great, especially for the tough NY winters. The 4 wheel drive is a blessing in the snow! I enjoy my current Grand Cherokee and I look forward to upgrading and getting a newer model in the future. The only downside with this model is while the powerful V8 engine is handy, it consumes a lot of gas and it consumes it very fast. Everything else is great.

Rain, snow or shine it is reliable to get you through any weather.
I love the interior and the sound system. I also like that it gets through tough weather easily (snow, rain, etc.) I don't like that some things are made cheaply. The handles have become super loose and/ or broken.

My Jeep grand Cherokee is an extremely rugged and reliable vehicle.
It has electrical issues with the brakes, at first I thought it was a light bulb that went out but it wasn't the rear lights will work but once I press on the breaks the lights will go out. It is great in the snow and extremely reliable have never not been able to drive safely through a snowstorm. Large amount of room inside for my family and dog to go to places. Good on gas and dependable vehicle.

It may not be anything special but it serves its purpose.
I bought it used and as is. It was all I could afford. Has a sunroof that leaks every time it rains, power steering fluid leak, and I've replaced the water pump twice in one year. It gets me from point A to B.

Jeep. Are Jeep is very good in the snow not so good on gas.
A problem with our Jeep is that it is not very good on gas what's good about it is it is a truck and it is very good for hauling things and you do not have to worry about them getting wet. I live in Wisconsin so we need four wheel drive and that is a good thing with my Jeep grand Cherokee.

I love my Jeep Grand Cherokee. (I have 2) They are the perfect size for me and they are great anytime of the year. In Winter they are 4wd and also has a moonroof for warmer weather. But they new Jeeps, aren't made as good as they were when my 1997 GC was built. I don't know if I would buy a brand new one today. The cost is WAY OVERPRICED to me.
Older Jeep Grand Cherokees were the bomb! Todays Jeeps.....ehhhhh.... Overpriced for what you get. Just sayin'

It only gets about 18mpg on the highway and about 15 mpg in town.
I do not like the gas mileage. It has a very comfortable ride and is easy to drive. When repairs are needed, the parts are affordable and it is easy for my husband to repair.

Even after driving it for years I am still discovering some exciting things.
My car is a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee. It is a four wheel drive vehicle so I'm able to take it many places. My vehicle performance is excellent! It is a very comfortable car. It is large and it makes me feel safe while driving. The aspect of my car that I like the least is the gas mileage. It only gets about 15 MPG.

The loaded heated seats that adjust to your back.
I love the agility this SUV has, it rides comfortably it is a great running vehicle. For the age of my Jeep I get plenty of compliments on how good it looks. The thing I do not like is when a window motor goes out the window just drops, have replaced all of them.

Spacious, Roomy, and it looks clean. Older model jeep through.
Love the look and style of this Jeep, However the combined fuel economy is lower as compared to those of a newer vehicle. Combined the mileage is 17 mpg. Also the ride and smoothness of it driving is lacking to say the least. I have had multiple issues with my lights dying after I just had the, switched, my ignition keeps shorting out as well. I have had this car a while, however the older it gets and the more miles I keep adding to it the worse the problems seem to be regardless of how much I fix on it.

02 Jeep grand Cherokee is great on gas.
My Jeep has a 4. 0 6 cylinder motor. It is really good on gas, I only have to fill up once every 2 weeks driving 60 miles a day back and forth to work. The only issue I have has is Jeep s are notorious for rust and I blew a brake line that rusted to the point of failure.

You must know exactly the problems on the car before trying to repair.
The fact that the vehicle has to find distinct auto parts from various sources for repair. It's hard to find parts for repair. Once there is one problem it becomes a minor headache.

I haven't had any major issues with the Jeep. It is been very well maintained which has helped to avoid the issues. It uses a little more gas than I would like but it is a reliable vehicle and gets us where we need to go. Comfortable enough to fit my 2 teens and toddler in the back seat.

I love my jeep, it is very reliable with . Minimal maintenance. I have done some work to. It new transfer case, radiator and transmission but it is 17 yrs old do not too bad I love the leather heated seats and the ride is great!! All in all it is great, it starts even in 2 degree temps this past winter.

The safety of this vehicle.
The main problem I have is gas mileage. It is a gas guzzler. My car is comfortable and very safe because of its heavy duty bumpers. It has a/c which is not working at the time. A/M, F/M radio with a CD player. Stereo sound is awesome!! I have had very few problems with my Jeep and I am very happy about that.

Reliable, effective and gets you from a to b.
It's not uncommon for the car to have trouble starting and the air conditioning is not that strong. The tail lights have gone out on both sides multiple times and the windows sometimes lose functionality. It's not too comfortable and the radio sometimes just straight up doesn't work and the seatbelts don't lock. But it drives well, transports a good load, has a nice amount of space and has good speakers.

I have not experienced any major issues with my Jeep grand Cherokee. Just the minor wear and tear and general maintenance. The only drawback I would even care to mention is it does not get very good miles per gallon. However it does very well in the winter which, to me, is more important.

2002 Jeep Cherokee - It's nice
Had problems with an axle and a leak in the radiator. Only other problem I have had with it is the core packets. But it has over 100,000 miles on it too. But otherwise my jeep has been awesome. I do wish it did not stay in 4 wheel drive all the time. But for the price, it is an awesome vehicle. It has a sunroof, leather seats. It's big enough for my whole family. It drives well. Goes good in the snow. Has all the whistles and bells.

Problems but still a good investment.
Like the vehicle but the first year my heart gave out. Have rust issues and a tire needs replaced. All this in about 3 years. It runs good though. I have no problems in the winter. It gets ok gas mileage for a 16 year old Jeep. I would get another but newer. I am planning on getting a brand new car in the future and thinking about getting another Jeep grand Cherokee.

Hot idling and bad air conditioning
Air conditioning has had continuous problems. It does not have many vents and does not cool the overall inside of the vehicle as well as other vehicles I've been in. The vehicle runs hot when idling, and when the air is turned on. I've heard this is an issue with many Cherokees. For it to be a jeep, I've recently had to replace the shocks on front and the back as well as the tie rod, which seems odd, I figured this vehicle would be built for that, not needing parts that go with its nature to be repaired.

Jeep Grand Cherokee is reliable and comfortable.
Love the ride, been very reliable. Only issues are with airbags and windows. Although a recall should have fixed it, the airbag light comes on regularly. All window electronics have failed over time.

It is a Jeep , so it has the death wobble. I didn't know anything about it until one day I was noticing my steering wheel, I couldn't keep it straight. I suggest you buy something other than Jeep . It does fit 6 people. It has electrical problems. Sometimes the blinkers work and sometimes they do not. The back window has issues.

I have the 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4.0 litre inline 6 Cylinder, I don't have leather, , nor a sunroof ,nor heated seats,I have chrome grill, and every other option the 4.7 litre has,Why do I have every option that this model isn't suppose to have??? I put a 4 inch long arm rough country suspension lift with 33 inch height by 12.5 inch wide tire on 17 inch jeep rims and I can drive comfortably on the highway and very comfortable off roading,Its a solid Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo All Wheel Drive Abd I Enjoy Ig Very Much .No Complaints About My Jeep,Just Love How Strong It Really Is And Durable At 234000 KMS I'm Good For Many More Years Of Comfortable Driving On And Off Roading. It's a Jeep thing. Body roll is real.
My history of my Jeep is a big part of why its had the problems it's had. It's hard crank, sensor, cam, idle air control valve, tps, 3 fuel pumps couple starters and it has the 4.7l witch is prone to valve guide seals that will leak causing it to burn oil. With all vehicles regular maintenance with quality parts yes it does matter and not cheap parts will go along way for years of reliable performance.

It has a lot of space. The back seats go down flat. The 4 wheel drive works great. It's good on gas. Mine has a sunroof. It also has a towing hitch. I also like that all the back windows are tinted. The spare tire is the same size as the tires on it. It has the luggage rack on top. I wish it had radio speakers all the way in the back. There are other features you can add.

Comfortable with room to carry large items or a dog.
I enjoy driving this vehicle. It handles nicely. I feel safe when there is ice and snow on the street, because I can put it in four wheel drive. I can oversee other cars because it has a little height. The seat is comfortable. There is plenty of room in the back to carry purchases or even a large dog. Seats goes down if you need to carry lumber or other larger items.

Reliability long life
One problem with these cars is the flimsy heater blend doors. Most of them 1999-2004 the blend doors broke, and either the best of a.c. Does not work properly. Big pain in the ads to fix....

Low gas mileage brake trouble and seems to compact for a grand Cherokee.
Not great gas mileage, have problems with brakes freezing up and burning out. Had an older make of Jeep a long time ago and really liked it, not so sure about this one. Also seems that there is not a lot of interior room. Would think again before buying another Jeep.

Great all around vehicle. We took a trip to Michigan from Minnesota. It was reliable and comfortable.
Good cargo space. Towing capability. Four wheel drive is great for Minnesota winters. Sun roof is nice bonus. Power everything. Love having radio and CD controls on steering wheel. Only negative is that it doesn't have the best MPG.

This car is very old and has some problems. I do love the way the jeep drives though. Very fun. My vehicle is not four wheel drive which means I will have to buy something four wheel or AWD before the next winter. The size of the car is perfect for my family, it's not too large (like so many SUVs) and not too small either.

You just cannot beat a jeep!
I have only had this jeep for a few months. It is an upgrade from my last jeep grand Cherokee. She rides very comfortably. Seats are cloth which is always better in the summer so you do not burn your skin and the winter so you do not freeze. I like the fact that it is very simple regarding features. I will say that I would give this vehicle a 5 if it did not have electric seats. Electric seats always pose the potential for breaking down. Love the rear window wiper. Also love the fact that you can open just the rear window without opening the entire back of the jeep. Handel's great in snow and ice, but remember your vehicle performs better with newer tires.

The 4x4 is always nice to have, never been stuck that's for sure. Worse part has to be gas mileage and that's not even to bed still get 18ish I think

An interesting detail would be I put a lift on it.
I like my vehicle in the sense that it has lasted me almost 17 years. I have had to replace the transmission on it (last summer) and it currently has 205,000 miles on it. Been in the shop multiple times for regular maintenance issues.

It's dependable, safe, great for trips and off-roading, which we do a lot of. High miles do not stop Jeeps. It is one of the best vehicles to purchase.
I love that it is roomy and has a lot of space. I like that it is an all terrain vehicle so it's great for any type of weather or season. There is nothing about Jeeps that I do not like besides the look of the newer models. Jeeps have a specific look and they are starting to lose their signature design.

I have a 2002 jeep grand Cherokee. It has 165,00 miles on it. And it still runs.
My jeep will go anywhere. It is awesome in the snow. We take it out in the woods and go mud bogging in it. We drive it through creeks and over trees. We never get stuck. The four wheel drive will get you out anywhere you are at. It is got 165,000 miles on it and still runs great.

2002 has some problems, but are still nice.
We bought ours used, and unfortunately from someone who ended up not being very reliable. We've had a lot of problems with it: the wiring that controls the automatic windows has gone out, so the only window that works is the driver's side in the front. There's a problem with the fan for the heater, so the driver's side vents only blow cold air, and the liftgate in the back will not stay up by itself all the time, so you either have to keep something to prop it up, or just hope it does not fall on your head when you are trying to load or unload stuff. It is all stuff that is fixable, of course, and once those things are fixed, it'll be a great car. It is reliable, it runs well, and it gets great gas mileage. But, if you are considering getting an older grand Cherokee, make sure it is older than 2002, because those do not have all the problems with the wiring and heater going out.

I have no complaints, I am the 2nd owner. I purchased the car 5 yrs. Ago with 113k. Miles. It now has 192k. Miles and has nothing but routine maintenance. The body has no-rust (unheard of for Ohio.) It's a daily driver and performs flawlessly everyday. Any conditions, Sun, rain, snow, mud, sand, highway..... It makes no difference we are ready to go!

Needed to rebuild engine at 160,000 miles. Oil flow problem, undetermined. Everything else works just fine. Normal wear issues. Love the size, all wheel drive. Gas mileage low at 18 mph, but I use it to carry my sled dogs and pull a trailer. Great vehicle for an active outdoor lifestyle.

It is supposed to have heated seats.
Uncomfortable seats, does not start regularly, and the 4x4 works about 50% of the time. The heated seats do not work and the leather in the seats cracked quickly.

My Jeep Grand Cherokee is a comfortable and functional workhorse!
I like the space it has since I have one to three kids with me at basically any time. I wish there was more leg room, since newer cars are better configured so even a Chevy Cruze has a roomier backseat. I also like the gas meter that warns me when I'm low because I tend not to pay enough attention!

A/C system is Achilles' heel in 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Mostly a solid vehicle, but the air-conditioning system relies on a vacuum system and that has regularly failed because the baffle doors get stuck open'which means the A/C comes through the defrost vents. Then, a pump in the A/C system leaked, required a complete overhaul.

It is a family vehicle for sure.
I actually have no problems with the vehicle. It works awesome and has enough room for my family! I can fit a stroller in the back. There is enough room for one than one car seat! It works better than any car I have ever had! It does eat through gas but that is common in big vehicles.

It handles well in all weather and terrain. Don't have to worry about getting stuck.
Love my jeep. Handles well in all weather. Since I live in New England it helps to have a vehicle that handles all terrain.

That its 4 wheel drive and is great in all seasons of the year
I love my jeep. It's great in the winter and had plenty of room for storage and space for children who may or may not be in car seats

It's a cool color and has nice big tires and it is four wheel drive
My car runs great. It's good on gas. Its reliable its clean and it gets me to and from work. It good to go grocery shopping and it has a lot of room

Why I love my jeep. The features that make me happy.
It is an older car so it has a few problems but it has been a real workhorse for me. I love how easy it is to handle when driving and the dependability it has given me is wonderful. I like the looks of the design and I am proud to drive it. I bought it used but it drove like new when I got it and I am very comfortable in it even now that I've had it for so long. When I buy another vehicle it will be a jeep.

It is reliable and dependable. I've owned it for about 10 years and love it.
Best vehicle ever! It sits high enough off the ground without being hard to get in to. Drives well, attractive to look at. No complaints.

This vehicle is a great off-road car and good in the snow over all it is ok.
I had lot of heating and cooling problems with it when I first bought it, it tends to over heat and shake every once and awhile two of my electric windows do not work and both cost about 200 to get fixed and the air in the front doesn't blow as hard and I would like it to.

Jeep has outstanding four wheel drive.
The Jeep grand Cherokee is good for a winter vehicle with the 4x4 that works flawlessly and in the summer also works well as a beach Cruiser and just to go around with friends. It looks good and also very comfortable to drive the only improvement could be mileage I am getting 15 mpg which isn't too bad for a 4WD vehicle.

It is the best driving and riding suv I have ever drove
It's a great overall auto. It drives smooth and has been a great car for me.it has not had any problems other than normal wear and tear

High mileage engine replacement.
My Jeep has been my favorite vehicle to drive and plan to keep even when I buy a new vehicle! I did have to replace the engine at 175, 000 miles. However, had no issue since then (210, 000) and never felt as though it wasn’t reliable. Extremely comfortable to drive/ride but no more than 600ish miles at a time.

The dependable life cycle of the Jeep grand Cherokee.
Reliable, issues only due to age, love my car, handles snow - cuts right through the snow. Jeep is comfortable, I like that it is lower to the ground even though it handles the high snow of Minnesota. I also like that I see so many of the Jeep grand Cherokee cars on the road even though this model is over a decade old.
