A lovely and reliable car.
I have not had any problems with my car, only safety recalls. I find it to be a comfortable smooth ride. I like that the steering wheel has controls that operate the phone and radio. My only wish is that it would heat up faster on those cold mornings.

Love my Jeep - hemi need I say more!
I love my Jeep grand Cherokee. It is very comfortable, drives smooth and handles easily. It looks sporty, has a great sunroof which I absolutely love. Decent stereo system. The navigation and hands free uconnect are not the best. As an SUV goes, it is big enough but not too big, and of course it has a hemi - need I say more!

2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee juggernaut
The 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee is by far one of my favorite vehicles. The Jeep Grand Cherokee I own has the hemi 5.7 liter engine. The ride of this vehicle is beyond smooth. It feels as though one's bottom has graciously landed without fabric hindrance on the back of an American bald eagle! You can feel the plushness and power in your groin. At a moments notice you can release the holy grail of this vehicle for you and the people in your area. I love all of the entertainment features that you have available. Connectivity issues do not plague this vehicle as I've heard in other brands. Given the opportunity I would purchase another 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.7 liter hemi!

Love my Grand Cherokee Overland!
I love my Grand Cherokee! It is comfortable, reliable and stylish. I love that it's bigger than a crossover but not so big that I feel uncomfortable driving it. I've had it for 2.5 years now and have had no issues other than regular maintenance. I also love the leather seats, Bluetooth, and heated/cooling seats.

The jeep grand Cherokee has a decent size inside.
It is a mid size SUV with relatively a good amount of space in it. The only thing that I do not like is that it does not have a third row seat in it, which is ok seeing is I have three children it has a large amount of room in the back to carry strollers groceries and what not.

Satisfied with jeep grand Cherokee.
I have had this car for many years, and I am satisfied with its performance, reliability, comfort, and features. I have had problems with the rear door lock, which had to be replaced. I additionally had problems with the sunroof drain, which was draining into the rear seat belt pillar and causing a moldy smell.

My Jeep is an automatic-selection of 2/4 wheel drive, suitable for fairly rough mountain roads and trails. With comfort!
My Jeep Grand Cherokee is very reliable, reasonable gas mileage, and capable of performance and control on all types of roads, from pavement to gravel/mud, such as mining roads in the mountains!

Jeep grand Cherokee Laredo issues.
This vehicle has had some issues with starter and computer system. Front end has be easily worn out. Other than mechanical problems I haven’t had any other issues. But these are major problems I have had since I had the vehicle and it has been costly.

Why Jeeps are not for me!
The vehicle does not drive as good as I thought it would. Seems to be cheaply made for the money. I would not recommend this vehicle to anyone. I will never purchase another Jeep for my family or I. Drinks a lot of gas and noticed several computer issues. Not for me!

Jeep grand Cherokee problems.
Vehicle has too many problems. Every year I am sinking thousands of dollars into it. Torque converter, power steering rack, rear drive shaft, front drive shaft, numerous new tires, radio does not work, front seats are falling apart, and the list goes on.

I'm ready to trade it in, but I'm afraid i may owe too much on it.
Dislike mileage per gallon of gas. Like size and relative comfort. Dislike absence of back up camera. Dislike cost of dealership repairs.

Great car but has its issues
This car is very much known to have electric issues. The ABS light has been on since I bought it and nothing is wrong. My heated seat also didn't work for a while and I had to take it in a few times to get fixed. This car is also used. The air conditioning also went out on me recently and I have to refill it with Freon periodically

2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited trim with Silver exterior and black interior
The vehicle has electrical inconsistencies dealing with the locking system, Bluetooth, and the touch screen display controls. Can be frustrating as you never know if the features are going to work correctly. Sometimes when you press the lock button on the key fob the vehicle locks and the car beeps indicating the function is complete. Unfortunately it sometimes remains unlocked or only locks the front driver side and not all doors. The AUX function is a mess on our vehicle. Some days it won't allow you to switch devices or it takes a very long time. Bluetooth has a delayed reaction as when you answer a call it is still loudly informing you of the call while the call is connected. We have had few issues with reliability as we only had the vehicle for about two years. It is fairly comfortable but a tight fit for my grown family of five. The only issue I have with the exterior is the plastic elements that fade terribly really affecting the appearance of the vehicle.

Lasted many years, but not many miles.
I have had my vehicle for 9 years, and I purchased it new. I currently have only 131,000 miles and I am experiencing transmission issues that might not be feasible to repair. I have loved the vehicle up until this point, but am concerned about the level of long term quality.

Wouldn't buy another Jeep.
Heated seats do not stay on, the heat/ac makes noises and gets louder the higher the fan goes, lights constantly go out seats are not very comfortable, and sometimes vehicle will not start, and you cannot stop it from announcing who is calling even when you hit the button to answer it continues.

What Problems Does the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee Have?

More problems are reported with the 2011 Grand Cherokee than any other model year. A serious problem occurs when the Totally Integrated Power Module (TIPM) fails. If it fails, the SUV will not run, since it is the computer that controls everything from the engine to the door locks. The TIPM is expensive to replace, with most repairs costing over $1,000. Other problems include the engine stalling, and fuel pump relay failures.

There are six recalls affecting the Grand Cherokee, average for a vehicle this old, but all very serious since they can result in accidents or fires. Recalls include loss of power braking assistance, the fuel pump relay, and shorting lights.

accountCircle Amanda L

Overall is a very reliable car. Had to replace a couple of part on it like the radiator, but it could easily be one in 100 kind of odds for me to have this happen. Other than that it's a great car to be reliable.

The 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee’s two engine options–3.5L V6 and 5.7L V8–struggle with fuel pump failure. The 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee is quick for a midsize SUV, getting from 0 to 60 in 7.5 seconds. It also can tow up to 5,000 pounds, which is average for its class.

  • The base engine is a 3.6L V6 making 290 horsepower, a powerful standard engine for an SUV at this price point.

How Does the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee Compare to Other SUVs?

Based on owner reviews, the 2011 Grand Cherokee ranks 10th out of 23 midsize SUVs, putting it near the middle of the pack. One of its strongest competitors is the Toyota 4Runner. It has a significantly better reliability rating and fewer reported problems, but the Grand Cherokee still delivers better interior materials and technology. Both SUVs are built to handle rough off-road terrain well with their 4WD systems. The Toyota is a longer-lasting SUV with no major mechanical problems, making it a better choice.

Another competitor is the Mazda CX-9. A more reliable engine and standard three rows of seating make it a more compelling choice than the Jeep. Where the Mazda loses out is in styling and off-road capability since it is built for paved roads, and cannot handle trails like the Jeep. The longer-lasting powertrain helps Mazda win in this matchup.

Final Verdict: Is the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee a Good SUV?

Our assessment of the 2011 Grand Cherokee is it is not a good SUV to buy. Good qualities include an upscale interior, powerful engines, and advanced safety technology for its time. Where it loses out is with mechanical problems. Jeep improved the Grand Cherokee in later years, making those a better choice than the problem-ridden 2011 model.

Overall, my vehicle is very comfortable, luxurious, and reliable.
My vehicle performs very nicely. This is because it is four wheel drive and is very reliable in its performance. The interior is leather and extremely comfortable and spacious. Additionally, the lights work automatically, making the drivers job much simpler. Also, the touch screen on the dashboard allows for the driver to accomplish tasks without the difficulty of having to constantly rely on buttons.

I really love the different settings you have for mud, snow, rocky road ect.
I love the vehicle but when it has problems or needs to be fixed parts are hard to find and more expensive than the same part for other cars. Sometimes your spending 500+ more for the same part a ford would have. The car is a looker and is reliable and I love that about it too.

Best car I have ever owned.
I absolutely love my jeep. I had absolutely zero issues until I hit 100,000 miles. After that I have only had very small issues that have minimal cost to fix. The only issues I have had is a broken seal on the sunroof that was easily replaced. The other issue I have had was that my windshield sprayer on the passenger side stopped spraying but a quick $5 part fixed that issue. The car is very comfortable and has plenty of space. It is a perfect car to take on trips but it is also great for just going around town.

My 2011 jeep grand Cherokee is by far my favorite vehicle I have owned. Prior to the grand Cherokee I owned a 2017 jeep Cherokee Trailhawk. The grand Cherokee has more room and far more power. I am able to fit all 3 car seats in the back seat and still sit comfortably in the driver's seat.

Love jeeps, but expenses too high.
I like the details of basketball brown leather seats, touch screen navigation, heated and cooling seats, heated steering wheel, push button open of hatchback, heated back seat and adjustable back seat. However, the leather dash has warped in the sun and is very costly to replace or repair. I have had to replace the hydraulics and have the electrical system replaced which was also very costly. I have a check engine light that continues to come on randomly that when service is unable to pinpoint that actual problem. Overall I think it rides nicely, tho now shimmies at 80 mph since the hydraulics replaced. It is perfect size for hauling things, the seat maneuvers are easy to use. I have not had to use the 4 wheel drive options as for snow, mud, etc yet. I have a black vehicle which I like, I enjoy the large sunroof too. The stereo and hands free calling are great.

Jeep grand Cherokee: excellent blend of performance and fuel efficiency.
Mt jeep does not have all the features that I would want in a car, but that was what was affordable. Other than that, the vehicle is quite promising and reliable. It has a great balance of performance and fuel efficiency. The car is almost 10 years old and runs well.

Excellent car plagued with recalls.
There have been several recalls on the vehicle for potentially life threatening issues such and the brake lines freezing, the vanity mirror lighting on fire, and the total electrical system being recalled. Fortunately I only had a problem with the electrical control but it made my car impossible to start and it would stall out randomly. When my car is working well though I love it.

Transmission issues, tire pressure gauge comes on when no tires are low. It does not that well on gas mileage. Has plenty of room and rubber mats make it easy to clean. Flashlight in the trunk which can be helpful. Wiper blades need to be replaced often.

Heated steering wheel, squeaky brake rotor.
Absolutely love getting into my jeep everyday. With minimal maintenance it is an easy car to keep clean and even change your own oil. Heated steering wheel is a must if living in a cold area during the winter. Only problem I have encountered is a squeaky brake rotor that would only make a noise when traveling under 20 mph.

Lots of repairs made in years 7-9. Otherwise very comfortable luxury vehicle. I believe the mpg has significantly reduced. Only getting 16 mpg when I thought I should be getting 20. This might be due to the type of tires on the car. We'll see what happens when we get new tires with different tread.

The real deal about jeeps.
What I love about my jeep is the control. I live in Wisconsin and have now owned 3 jeeps. They handle the snow better than any vehicle I have ever been in. The new models have a sleek and sporty look. It is a very comfortable SUV as well. Issues I have experience with my jeep are 1) I have had heating and air conditioning issues, such as the fans being very noisy and needing to be replaced, 2) the sway bars coming loose and creating a clunky sound, and 3) a little bumpy in general as it is a more compact vehicle.

It's big without being too big like having problems getting into parking spaces
I Love my jeep grand Cherokee. It's very Comfortable and I always feel very safe while driving it. Also my jeep is very roomy and has lots of cargo space. I haven't had any additions problems to fix other than regular maintenance from normal everyday wear and tear.

2011 Jeep grand Cherokee.
Rides smoothly. Great sound system. Love the look and body style. The back up camera is the best. I love the sunroof. The seat heat and remote start is super nice. It is not very fast and does not get great gas mileage. Very comfortable and roomy. Has lots of room for storage.
