Solid Jeep = Fan For Lyfe
I have only had the Jeep for a few months. I bought it with 139k miles on the clock. Once I got it home, I changed the fluids, replaced the prop shocks under the hood and on the rear window. I also replaced the torn and faded spare tire cover. I had to replace the tires too as the old Toyo All-Terrains were too big and worn out. It got 11 mpg my first trip to the gas station before things were replaced. Now, nearly 3 months later, I am averaging nearly 17 mpg combined. The highest I've gotten is 22 mpg highway and I usually pull 15-16 mpg in town. Most of my driving is in town. The new tires have helped quiet the vehicle on the roads while also helping to smooth out the bumps. I replaced the Jeep stereo and speakers with a JVC head unit that has bluetooth and Alpine speakers. Now, I can stream Sirius, Spotify, iTunes, whatever thru the car stereo. My dog loves this Jeep as does my wife and I. It is cheap to fix, the transmission shifts smoothly, the engine has plenty of torque for city driving and holds hills pretty well here in Utah. Overall, this is a great Jeep. I highly recommend one.

I have had very good experiences and it has a lot of space.
As far as gas mileage, the miles per gallon is not great. And because of the number of miles, frequent repairs.

A great car for a couple of people.
This car works well for a small SUV. It has four wheel drive, heated seats, a sunroof, and leather seats. The back seat is small, so not good for a large family but works for a few people. The one feature I do not like is how the window buttons are in between the driver and passenger seats, versus being on the driver’s side.

The positive of owning a Jeep liberty.
Overall I like my Jeep liberty - its roomy with seating for five people and extra room with a good size open trunk space good for groceries or luggage and the back seats fold down making the space even bigger - my Jeep has fabric seats with pockets on the back of the front seats allowing for important papers or children's items - there are cup holders and extra compartments between the front seats along with a glove compartment - there are air bags for the driver and the passenger - there is a Bluetooth CD player with radio - my Jeep handles well in the ice and snow with 4 wheel drive -coverall I love my Jeep I just wish the payments weren't so expensive!

Jeep liberty, built like a tank.
Great vehicle for outdoor activities including kids and dogs. A few safety recalls but overall minimal service issues. This vehicle has been extremely reliable, even after sitting unused for 5 years. The negative aspect is very poor gas mileage, both city and highway.

It's lasted a long time. It runs great even as old as it is. As long as it gets me to where I'm going and home again, thats works for me.
I like that it gets me to where I'm going and back home. I'm sure we will be looking for something newer, however, other things in life take priority over that.

Sturdy and comfortable, some issues.
The handling is really truly amazing. Moves perfectly on the road, especially in the winter in an extremely hilly neighborhood. The four wheel drive is exceptional. There have been some issues as the vehicle is old. The back driver side window has fallen into the door several times and we've had to duct tape it up. The ac has failed multiple times. The heat has failed multiple times. Windshield has only been cracked once. The car sometimes makes weird sounds and the speakers don't work a lot. Used to have brake problems, but it was solved. Really comfortable and stable on the road. Children love it. Feels compact and sturdy.

Of all the vehicles I have owned this one is practically maintenance free.
Love my Jeep, it is reliable with more than 125, 000 miles and still going strong. My Jeep has been from new jersey to Florida to Texas. My mechanic can not believe my Jeep is in good shape. It passes inspection every time. The body and interior are still in good shape. Will be driving my Jeep for years to come.

Want a starter car to improve your driving?
It's a comfy ride, but doesn't have the best mileage. It's a cute beginner car and it helps you see the road. It can leak from the sunroof from time to time. If you want to start with a vehicle and move your way up to a truck, this is a good place to begin.

Liberty, a great little SUV.
Only under the hood problem I can think I had was the check engine light itself. Kept up with maintenance cannot think of any extra issues. Jeep people finally fixed the window issue so that is good now. Took some getting use to the seats as they seem short. Really love the hooks in the back, use them to keep groceries and other items in place. Has good pickup for mountain driving and passing. Would like the back seat to lay down flatter.

Bad braking system
I just bought this car used. It had been in three small minor accidents only hitting the front bumper left middle in right side. Airbags never went off. When I bought the car it had 111000 miles on it. I took it for a test drive and the car ran beautiful like a brand new car. After having the car not more than two days. I find out that in the rain if you slam on the brakes. You will slide most definitely. I did not know when I bought this car that it did not have ABS brakes. It is an option from the dealer. Also after a few days it now has a little small motor noise when you are idling every 10 seconds. Not the engine but some small little motor noise. Be careful when buying this car. If you're just going around town it's okay. If you're going long distance in the rain be very very careful not to slam on the brakes. Because you will slide. If somebody cuts in front of you you must pump the brakes very slowly. Other than that it is a very good looking car and it does Drive nice.

Jeep 2002 Liberty Sport 4x4
The Jeep Liberty is a hard working vehicle but with comfort of a SUV. It's economical enough to take grocery shopping and rough enough to go 4 wheeling. The thing I don't like about it is the window controls are in between the two front seats and the hood release is hard to find.

Bought my Jeep used in 2012 from a local dealer. It has 86, 000 miles on it. It is my daily driver and we also use it to tow our boat and hunt big game. It has never given me any problems. My husband has replaced a few small items that just wore out due to the age of the vehicle. They include: oil sending unit, cv joints, brake line, brakes and rotors. Absolutely love this SUV. Jeeps overall are well made and perform well.
The Jeep Liberty is a good starter car. It has a v6 engine so it can pick up speed pretty quickly however rides like a Jeep. Meaning that it is a bumpy ride. There are not too many issues however, the Liberty has started to have more and more issues as it reaches 17 years old.
accountCircle Hillary H on August 16, 2020
Car somewhat reliable at times.
The oil change light continually blinks on and off even if there is oil in the car. Water leaks into the passenger side every time it rains. Gas mileage appears to be low; there may be a leak in the gas line. The car is not easy to park in small spots. The a/c does not work, and the heat takes some time to come on.

We've used it since special ordering it and taking delivery of it new in Oct. Of 01. It's the limited with everything including the traction package. You can't appreciate these until you drive one. Very solid feeling, secure on and off the road and very zippy and nimble. It's so maneuverable it's not funny! It's been a good ride. The interior is like new. The leather held up great. We've had one window roller go out but it was under warranty. Love it.Won't part with it. Daimler Jeeps are the ones to own in my opinion. While we've loved our 02 if you look for a used one shoot for the 04-05 models. They are the best of the best and one of the best deals in quality built used cars sometimes with very low miles.

I definitely would recommend my Jeep to anyone considering buying of these
I love my Jeep, however, there are some things that you should know before purchasing one of these vehicles. First, the gas mileage is not very good. I need to fill my gas tank up at least once a week, even just driving to work and back. On the plus side it drives amazingly in the winter. With the 4wd capability I am able to get through the snow with absolutely no issues whatsoever! The vehicle is very reliable, I have never had any issues with it. Considering the age and mileage of this vehicle I was surprised to see how well It has performed over the past couple years of owning it. The vehicle is very compact as well and can maneuver very easily. It has a short turning radius which is perfect when turning around in tight areas as well. Overall I love this car and was perfect as my first car.

The front passenger and driver side window do not roll down and the a/c heat fan only goes from off or full on (1-4) heat and air works very well though, cold air and very good heat. It is awesome. The add-on things really are nicer, such as the full metal rack systems and spare tire/fuel holders. Adding LED light bars that are now available make it all that much better for off-roading.
I like that it is a 4x4, and can go where I need it too as well as good on the highway with a high up view. I dislike that it doesn't have enough cup holders. I dislike that it is not a manual. I dislike that it is not a diesel. I really hated that manual and diesel were not options. I would also like it if I could use the tailgate and other areas that are molded for additional storage of things such as fire extinguisher, first aid kit, road flares, snow chain stow-away, and other things. I would also like it if there were a better cabin filtration system, where I could use a K&N Filter. I also wish it were a bit more fuel efficient for a 4 cylinder; bonus for a turbo that is rock-solid for when I need it to be zippy.

2002 Jeep liberty sport- great road trip vehicle, has areas of concern.
Overall a good, reliable vehicle. Biggest complaints are the 3. 7 v-6 is horribly underpowered for the liberty, and the brakes are weak by modern vehicle standards. Another area of concern is the lack of stability and random loss of control while off-roading- the liberty is a goat that will go anywhere off-road, but you have to keep it under 10 miles per hour, over 10 miles per hour and the rear end will spin out 180 degrees and point you in another direction, this is the only 4x4 vehicle I have ever had with this stability problem, and nobody can seem to diagnose what causes it. The vehicle runs and drives flawlessly, all accessories work and is comfortable. Decent, but not exceptional gas mileage. Very comfortable road trip car.

Reliable hard working, and easy to maneuver in traffic
This is a great car for maneuverability, and ease of driving in traffic and all weather conditions, with slight exception of windy weather, the height and build of the jeep tends to feel the wind pushing it more especially on highways. The jeep is reliable and just be careful to never redline on the radiator or you will be fried.

The main concern I have with my Jeep Liberty is that it is a gas guzzler. I fill up my gas tank at least once a week and it costs me approximately $40 to fill up the tank. The performance of the vehicle is good in terms of the four wheel drive capabilities. The four wheel drive feature allows for safe and efficient travel during snow storms. The four wheel drive feature also factors into the reliability of the vehicle. The four wheel drive feature still works wells after 135,000 miles logged on the vehicle. The seating in the vehicle is also a good feature. The seats are not leather, but they are still comfortable. However, I could use a little more leg room in the driver's seat.

Absolutely love my Jeep liberty!
Very comfortable ride. Gas mileage not so good. Four wheel drive goes in and out easily without problems. Sunroof a plus. Back seats fold easily and cargo room has enough space for 2 large dogs when seats are folded down. Back windows are tinted but not front.

It's a good well constructed jeep, and last a long time
Well, i like that it sits my spie proper when i get in it. It's important for me to have my back comfy when driving, and for as old as max my jeep is he sure does give out some dang good cool air in the sumar, and is quite reliable in messy weather.

The engines tend to go bad at 93,000 miles, so check your fluids regularly.
My jeep has gotten me around reliably for many years now. It has had some maintenance issues here and there. But for the most part a solid car.

For a small vehicle it gets lousy gas mileage. I have had to replace the radiator several times and the regulators for the windows blew out a long time ago. It is not built for comfort and has not been very reliable.
It is cute but not reliable and Jeep doesn't take care of their customers.

The gas mileage is very bad in town.
I love driving my jeep and how high it sits. I wish it had better gas mileage.

It's a Jeep.........................................
Great car. Good on gas mileage. Room for groceries and dogs.

How well the car has lasted.
It runs really nicely, I wish the seats had held up better but it is a great car! In addition, the connection for the sunroof is not always there so it does not always work, and one of the windows rattles when rolling it up.

It drives good and is a good size.
The windows broke about 3 months after I took possession. But I like the way it drives and the size. If I had to buy again I would probably buy the same version.

It has given me good service no major problems.
I like that it has a sunroof. I am also happy that it is very reliable. However, it is terrible on gas mileage.

It runs unbelievably well for it's age. It's a 2002 and only has 106,00 miles on it.
It's the right size for my uses. It's red! It has 4 wheel drive. Dislike...not really good on gas mileage.

Have a lot of space even do it is very compact. Love the color is black.
Well my vehicle have the transmission damage but is very comfortable and easy to clean, easy to manage. Is a old car and it wasn't to expensive. The air conditioner levels don't work except level 4. Have a problem in one of the wheel I think is the break.

Jeep liberty is a good SUV. Handles well, decent on gas, and great, take off.
I would say my Jeep is fairly reliable since it has almost 189, 000 miles on it. I have had to replace the radiator on it and the compressor for the air conditioner went out 2 years ago and I haven't been able to replace it. But I have enjoyed owning it and taking long trips with it. I love it is get & go transmission and it handles well in the mountains.

My Jeep Liberty is very reliable in the winter.
It's very reliable, especially in the winter. I live in northern Ohio so it handles winter like a champ!! The only issues are that my rear windshield wiper doesn't work and it has terrible gas mileage.

It's a death trap but it gets me to work and home everyday.
It is reliable and looks good. But it is a gas hog. There are also a few issues with it that I do not like.
