2016 Jeep Renegade Review: Terrible Compact SUV Loaded With Costly Engine Problems

Alex Showalter
Oct 26, 2022

The 2016 Jeep Renegade only lasts around 150,000 miles with serious engine and transmission issues showing up. At $13,125 to $16,825, it’s cheap, but not worth the money when frequent repairs will cost you thousands of dollars.

likeFilled The Good
Interior materials are more luxurious than other compact SUVs, the Trailhawk model handles well off-road and the upgraded technology is better than the competition.
dislikeFilled The Bad
The transmission is very rough while shifting gears, visibility is limited due to the large pillars and the suspension is overly firm.

Is the 2016 Jeep Renegade a Good Used SUV?

  • Overall Rating 5/10 – 2016 is a bad year for the Jeep Renegade since there are still a lot of mechanical problems which are expensive to fix, giving it a low overall rating. Owner reviews complain about it being weak, the engine overheats, along with stereo problems.
  • Interior, Comfort & Cargo 8/10 – Interior materials are nice for an affordable small SUV, the front seats are comfortable, cargo space is also better than average.
  • Reliability 4/10 – There are a lot of engine and electrical problems on the 2016 Renegade. Buyers should avoid models from 20152018. Renegade models from 20192022 are much more reliable.
  • Performance 4/10 – Performance is worse than average from both of the available 4-cylinder engines.
  • Safety 7/10 – The 2016 Renegade gets an overall rating of 4 out of 5 stars in government crash tests. Optional safety features include a rearview camera, blind spot monitoring, lane keep assistance, as well as frontal collision warning with braking.
  • Gas Mileage 7/10 – Fuel economy is good at up to 27 MPG, giving 342 miles of range from the 12.7 gallon tank. Gas costs are $6 cheaper than average at $227 per month.
  • Value 6/10 – The 2016 Renegade is cheaper than other small SUVs, although the high repair costs make it a bad value as it ages.

It is a great car. Everyone should get this car.
I like the size and comfort. I wish you didn't have to manually pull the back gate hatch down. I wish there wish a button to push.

2016 jeep renegade Trailhawk.
Biggest issue with my jeep was an electrical systems fault that took a while to diagnose. Once fixed, I haven't had any other issues. The back up camera is great and I like the cold weather remote start that gets the heat going when the temperature is low.
accountCircle Katelyn B
I like that it is compact but also isn't too low to the ground. I I like the look of the car from the outside and all the features it has on the inside.
This car is good for driving in the winter and summer
accountCircle Cameron K
On the outside it is small but in the inside there is a lot of room.
I like my jeep because it is compact but it also has a lot of room to spread out that was important to me because I am 6 3. I have drove it for about 2 months now I have not had any. Problem with it I can fit three people in the back but most of the time there is only two back there I have drove it in winter but my grandma has one and she does and she says it is good in winter.
accountCircle Michelle J
I have over 100,00 miles on it.
I love the look of my jeep. It is great in the snow. There is also a lot of potential to customize it such as a lift, larger tires, roof rack lights etc.
accountCircle Lena C
An exciting, but comfortable ride, with everything you need to make a long ride.
Love the comfort and ease of driving, as well as its performance as far as mileage and functionality. It's a comfortable ride, has plenty of space for passengers and pets/storage. Features are easy to use but also have safety stops for use while driving.
accountCircle Kenzi T
There’s too much going on to list it all here!
So far no problems, automatic seats and windows, backup camera, touch screen monitor for radio, able to make calls while driving through the car. Able to listen to music from phone.

Rugged entertainment vehicle.
I have not had any major problems with this vehicle. It is solid. Great for off roading. Very comfortable ride with lots of features such as push button start, 4x4, touch screen radio with Sirius, touch screen navigation, hands free talking and much more.

More cons than pros. Ride is not smooth and have a had more issues than positive.
I do not enjoy the ride of the vehicle. Does not accelerate well. Had issues with the fuel tank. Radio has shut off completely while driving. Assuming it was computer issues. I do like the heated seats and backup camera and heated steering wheel and remote start.
accountCircle Krystal R
I like the heated steering wheel, heated seats, keyless entry, keyless start.
Well it has had a recall for a fan in the engine casing the car to overheat. Last year it was in the shop 6 times before they would figure out what was even wrong with it. When the check engine light is on you can use your 4x4 drive. I have no been impressed the 3 years I have had it.

Car is garbage and definitely a money pit.
The car has constant problems. The electric system crashes and throws all sorts of warnings and shuts everything down. The lights stopped working, four wheel drive. The car has even powered down while I was driving. This is the worst car I've ever owned.

Jeep renegades stink as a cool car.
Had a wrangler and downsized. Not fun car to drive at all. Nothing like a real jeep. Has had numerous things go wrong. Took 3 weeks to get cracked windshield replaced from a rock crack. Leather is coming away from both doors. Will not recommend to anyone.
accountCircle Sara T
When you step on the gas it feels like you slow down before accelerating. The center console/arm rest is awkward. Engine light is constantly coming on.
Hands down worst jeep I have ever owned. Spend the extra money and get the grand Cherokee or wrangler

Nightmare
Where can I start... This is my second Jeep, with my Cherokee I did not have an issue like for 10 years. Since 2016 I own a Renegade Latitude and it only had been problems. Air Conditioning System had to be changed, every month the gas emissions sensor lights up, the battery exploded (yeap acid all over- the explanation it got hot - hello we are in Fl and it was parked, really that is your explanation), the constant jerking and when you have the brakes it trembles, when driving there is a horrible sound as if one of the windows was down, and ultimately the hose for the wipers disconnects from the pump and it wont spray the front windshield.
accountCircle Laine F
Very eye appealing but not appealing to drive
I have had many transmission type problems and every time I take it into the dealership they tell me that nothing is wrong. When started it will rev the engine without touching the gas, when trying to accelerate it makes noise then goes almost nowhere, at times it will actually slow down for a minute.
accountCircle Nick B
Small jeep with not much room.
There is very little room in this car. If you have a family and kids you will have trouble fitting much. It drives fine but not great on gas. Fingers crossed but I have not had to do much upkeep with the car, but I have had about 4 different lights go out.

What Do Critics Say About the Jeep Renegade?

  • Consumer Reports says the Renegade lags behind a lot of other compact SUVs with very low owner satisfaction scores.
  • Edmunds rates the Renegade at 3.3/5, praising the responsive handling, although they don’t like the clunky transmission.
  • Kelley Blue Book users give the Renegade a 4/5 enjoying the passenger room for its size, but owners don’t like the weak engines.

What Common Problems Does the 2016 Jeep Renegade Have?

Common problems found on the 2016 Jeep Renegade include the engine failing to start, shifting hard between gears, as well as numerous check engine lights. Overall, these problems are more severe than in other compact SUVs, leading to higher repair costs as well.

Failing to start is a widespread complaint from owners in the first 15,000 miles. There are problems with the totally integrated power module (TIPM) which are common on many Jeep models. Replacing the TIPM fixes the issue, however, prices are high at around $1,200.

Shifting hard between gears is another serious problem which shows up in the first 50,000 miles. Some owners have reported updating the transmission software fixes the issue. Others have had to replace the transmission if there was internal damage. Replacing the entire transmission costs around $3,500.

Numerous check engine lights are also common on the 2016 Jeep Renegade. Some common reasons the light turns on include a worn-out fan assembly which costs $600, a damaged turbo which is around $2,200, as well as throttle body issues which are around $600 to replace.

There are 2 recalls on the 2016 Jeep Renegade, which is better than average. The most serious recall covers the rear control arm bracket weld, which can fail, increasing the risk of an accident. Jeep will replace the bracket on affected models for free. The other recall is for the trailer hitch assembly, which Jeep will secure with new fasteners.

How Long Will the 2016 Jeep Renegade Last?

A well-maintained 2016 Jeep Renegade should last around 150,000 miles, which is half as long as top-rated competitors like the Toyota RAV4. Regular annual maintenance costs are more expensive than average, according to data from Repair Pal, at $497 per year.

Since nearly all 2016 Jeep Renegade models for sale will have over 100,000 miles buyers should be prepared to replace the brake master cylinder for $575, timing belt tensioner costing $500, as well as the purge valve which costs $200.

accountCircle Athena T

The jeep renegade is very reliable. I have had no problems with mine. It stops on ice. The 4wd works great. Some reviews say the transitions are not the strongest in these SUVs but I have had no problems. Amazing and reliable SUV.

accountCircle D G

I believe it is very reliable. I have not once had an issue with it leaving me stranded somewhere or not running.

accountCircle Ashley W

I have had my jeep for almost 2 years and I haven't had any problems or mechanical issues at all the jeep has been very reliable.

accountCircle Robert P

Yes it is very much reliable, the one thing that can use the improvement regarding this car is the electronic system in the car.

accountCircle Eva D

Since I buy it I never have any problems I do take it for the regular service but so far nothing else.

accountCircle Dubravka T

Besides the automatic seat control buttons on the drivers side I have not had any problems. The car I find also skids easily on wet surfaces.

accountCircle Sheila R

None that I've noticed. I had an issue with the engines intake fan in 2018 but that was quickly resolved and I haven't had any trouble since.

accountCircle Camille C

I have not experienced any problems with the Jeep renegade. If has been a very reliable vehicle even after 3 years.

How Is the Technology?

Entertainment technology in the 2016 Jeep Renegade is basic on the entry-level model, while the upgraded models have an excellent touchscreen stereo system. Safety technology is better than average with an optional rearview camera, lane keep assistance, as well as forward collision warning with automatic braking.

Is the 2016 Jeep Renegade a Good Value?

No, the 2016 Jeep Renegade is not a good value since there are so many expensive problems. Blue book prices range from $13,125 to $16,825, making it cheaper than a Subaru Crosstrek or Honda CR-V. When new, the price range was $17,995 to $26,995. Depreciation is worse than average, losing 15% of its current value per year.

What Are the Differences Between Years?

The first generation of the Jeep Renegade was introduced in 2015, and is still being made as of 2022.

2015: All-new compact SUV introduced for the first generation.

2016: Optional 9-speaker Beats stereo system added.

2017: Xenon headlights added, keyless ignition available as well.

2018: Updated stereo system with Apple CarPlay added, standard rearview camera.

2019: Minor exterior styling changes, upgraded interior components as well.

2020: 1.3L engine is more powerful, remote smartphone app control added.

2021: Standard blind spot monitoring, Limited model comes with 4WD only.

How Does the Jeep Renegade Compare to the Competition?

The Jeep Renegade ranks as one of the worst compact SUVs of 2016 since there are a lot of expensive mechanical problems, making it one buyers should avoid.

The Subaru Outback is a competitor which costs around $3,500 more. Passenger room is better in the Subaru Outback, while the Jeep Renegade offers more efficient engine choices. We recommend the Subaru Outback since there are fewer serious problems mentioned by owners.

The Ford Escape is another compact SUV which is about $1,000 more. Where the Ford Edge stands out is with better standard features, while the Jeep Renegade handles better off-road. We recommend avoiding both models for 2016 since they each suffer from engine and transmission problems.

Do Owners Recommend the Jeep Renegade?

accountCircle Athena T

Yes, the best vehicle in my opinion. If I was given a chance to get any type of vehicle for free if I got rid of my renegade. I'd refuse. This is the car I am going to drive until it dies and then I am going to buy another one just like it.

accountCircle D G

Yes, it is a very good vehicle. It gets great gas mileage and runs extremely well. It drives smoothly and is roomy enough to travel with kids and pets.

accountCircle Ashley W

Yes, it is a great vehicle. I live on the beach but often go up to the mountains and this car is amazing. It fits everything I need from my food cooler to my tent to everything in between with enough room to still be comfortable. The gas mileage on this car is great also. Overall this car is very good.

accountCircle Robert P

accountCircle Eva D

Yes very good I really recommend it! Easy for a mother of 2, and extremely easy to control on rainy days or snowy days.

accountCircle Dubravka T

Always some new flaw
The style and comfort overall I like. That’s where the two stars come from. Everything performance wise is trash. The 2.4 Liter engine eats oil Doesn’t leak it, just consumes it.How bad is it? I carry a 5 quart jug with me and have to check it every two weeks especially in hot weather as it will be a half quart-quart low. There are no warnings for low oil until it so low your car shuts off. How’d I find out? After a new only change and only a month of driving, it shut off on me on a turn and then gave me a message. Check the dipstick and it barely made a mark on the dip stick. Searched for leaks and everything. Not a leak to be found. In a car wash, put the car in neutral and waited to reach the end of the track, go to put it in drive…it shut its self off. Check engine light comes on, it disables remote start and 4 wheel drive. Splashed in a puddle, the system tells me both my blinkers, brake lights and running lights are out (they weren’t). It is one of the slowest vehicles I have ever driven to get up and go. Make sure the gap is wide going into traffic because it’s gonna take some time to get up to speed. It constantly in city traffic is kicking on the fan to cool as it runs near 220-223. Now at 130,000 the power transfer unit is shot. Only$1850 for the part not including labor and additional expenses. By far it’s the worse vehicle I ever owned and I will not be purchasing a Jeep product anytime in the near future.

True driver’s car in renegade.
This is a true driver’s car, the front and driver’s seat is roomy and full equipped with a stereo, heated seats, dual a/c, heated glass and a sun and moon roof. The stereo is not great and I personally upgraded the speaker system. The trunk space is limited but the back seats fold down easily for extra space. The gas tank is very small at only 12 gallons and the gas mileage gets 20 in town and 24 on the highway.
accountCircle Liz M on June 24, 2021
Renegade is not my thing!
I love the gas mileage, I love how it handles in snow. I do not like how it drives and I do not like that there is not a lot of trunk space. I probably would not buy this vehicle again but it is affordable. But to me, it drives too much like a keep. I prefer a more traditional SUV.
accountCircle Rachel M on June 21, 2021
I love my jeep renegade!
This car is perfect for a young driver's first car, being that it is easy to handle and very spacious. It is perfect to fit a sports/gym bag in the back and is able to tote around three friends! I feel very safe in this vehicle. It has a spacious back seat and a large hatchback trunk.
accountCircle Gerald M on June 20, 2021
It is a descent vehicle, probably will buy a competitor next.
Overall, this vehicle is pretty good. The cons are slow throttle response from standing stop. Gas mileage is not as good as other vehicles in it is class. The armrest are not very comfortable, the trunk is ok, could be a little bigger. Seems to have an electrical short that keeps killing one bulb every other month with no real cause.
accountCircle Jess B on June 19, 2021
Electrical mess! Not worth it!
It always is in the shop for electrical issues! It spends more time in the shop then I do driving it! My jeep has all the safety features which is very helpful but sometimes I question if they are really worth it since something always is not working properly.

It is cute and sporty! It had.
Very comfortable. Never had any car problems! Very reliable. Not fantastic for long distance traveling in terms of gas, but perfect for small distance/ small town traveling. Great sound system and air conditioning system. Fits a good amount of people comfortably, but not for big families.

Great car: limited cargo space.
I love my car, however my biggest complaint is the lack of cargo space. I the future I will be buying a larger jeep. But my jeep is affordable, comfortable, and gets decent gas mileage for what I bought it at. I also live in an area that gets quite a bit of snow in the winter but I've never had a problem with its winter performance.

The amazing jeep renegade!
The only problems with my jeep renegade are lack of cup holders for the back seat and the roof panels do not pop out with ease. I love the 4c get up and go. The seats are comfortable and stain resistant. The jeep handles like a dream. It is a classic. It is four wheel drive and maintenance is easy. It is my favorite car I have ever owned.

Sporty jeep renegade with hidden removable sunroofs for open road feeling.
I absolutely love my jeep renegade and have not had any major issues or problems. I chose the navy blue color and think it looks amazing when the sun shines on it. I opted for the dual removable sunroofs and love them when I can have them out and enjoy the sun and breeze. I do not love them because they have leaked water once and rattle at times. The dealership was able to repair the water damage from the leaks and addresses the rattling concerns when they come up. I also love the radio and Bluetooth features. My only complaint about it would be that when it needs updates, it has to go into the dealership to get them. But overall I am very pleased.

Black jeep renegade of my dreams.
This is the best vehicle I have ever had. I didn't buy it brand new so it did not come with a spare tire or a doughnut. It has a double sunroof which comes completely off. Whoever had the vehicle before be lost the key to the sunroof so I will have to purchase another one in order to take the top off. This vehicle is the perfect size for my daughter and I.

I have never had an issue with my renegade. It has been very reliable, has good mileage and endurance. Size-wise it is a little small if you have a family but I never had an issue with that. It is best for a single person or a couple. Overall, I recommend as it has been a good car for me.

2016 jeep renegade features.
It is a comfortable little car. It has a great radio system that allows you to have satellite radio, local radio stations, Bluetooth connection, and audio connection. The driver seats move with automatic buttons. The mirrors also have automatic features. The one feature I really enjoy that I have not seen on other vehicles is that it has an automatic dimmer on the rear view mirror. When your lights come on, the feature on the rear view mirrors also come on. This allows you to drive at night without having to worry about lights behind you shining in your eyes. The second row of seating has three seats. A great feature the back row of seating also has is that the middle seat can be lowered down and has two cup holders. The second row of seating also can be completely lowered down to make the trunk area even larger. This is really handy when you have a car load full of stuff and need extra room or if you need to pick up something such as lumber. The trunk also has great space along with extra storage. In the trunk there is an area where the floor can be lifted up for extra storage for either a spare tire or whatever you feel you like putting in there. Overall this is a great vehicle with nice features.
accountCircle Yazmin O on April 4, 2021
Remote/push to start, beats speakers, and moon panels on the top of the vehicle.
I love the look sporty of the renegade, and it was my dream car but since I have had it I have had to get a new transmission and now I need new brakes. It is been 3 month since I got the car. My car prior to that was a Honda civic that I had for 8 months and didn't have one single issue. As for comfort it is a really comfortable car. Pretty spacious when it comes to space to sit but the trunk is in the smaller side so I wouldn't recommend for people who use their trunk a lot for a lot of stuff.

Jeep renegade Trailhawk is a fun and dependable vehicle.
Very comfortable seats. It is very reliable and dependable. Runs good. The seats fold down for extra traveling storage, however, I wish the back storage area had more room for groceries and things. If you are packing for vacation, you cannot really get very many passengers with all the luggage because you have to take up seating room in order to fold seats down. It would be nice if it had a built in GPS function. It is a good all terrain vehicle and does well in snow. Very good for a single woman because the panel lets you know when tires are low, etc.
accountCircle Bea K on March 30, 2021
Love the vehicle and so reliable.
So far the vehicle is working well especially when it is winter. I trust the vehicle to go through the snow. Gas mileage is ok. I need new tires. They last 50000 miles. I would buy it again because vehicle I enjoy driving. I would get another color I instead of red. So far it is very reliable.

This vehicle may be small but it has big vehicle ability.
This vehicle has all the features I was looking for in a vehicle. I wanted a small suv with 4x4 off road ability because the roads don't get fixed and I was tired of paying to fix damage from bad roads. I also wanted to be able to drive during snow covered roads and over frozen clumps left by road cleaning trucks. I also wanted good mileage with enough room for 4 to 5 people.

Small off road vehicle with 4 wheel drive.
There was a recall on the fan but they was fixed, gas tank is only 12 gallons, cargo space is limited. Smooth ride, hands free phone system. Great off road capabilities, has 4 wheel drive and lockers. Moisture sensing windshield wipers on the front and the back of the vehicle.

No mechanical issues in 5 years!
I absolutely love my jeep renegade. I get awesome gas mileage while still having four wheel drive. I have truly never had any mechanical issues with my jeep renegade and I have had it almost 5 years. My jeep includes the backup camera and xm radio. The only thing I wish was different was that there would be more space in the back seat. The front seat has incredible leg space but the back seat is very crammed.
accountCircle Dal O on March 21, 2021
It's not good on gas, for its size you would expect much higher mileage
I like the handling and I like the look but I hate the interior fabric and if it rains water will pour straight into the electrical workings of the door even hours after it has stopped raining when you open them.

Great vehicle for city living!
My jeep renegade is phenomenal. Upgraded from a sedan to this when I was expecting. It is just the right size for city living. Compact but roomy. Fits in small spots and my small garage. Safe during snowstorms and also for road trips to the beach. Because it is compact my friends who are very tall complain about leg room in the back seat. Otherwise perfect for small family!

I have had my jeep for about 4 years and it is been super reliable. My commute has always been long and I have always felt safe. Jeep renegade issues and problems.
The key has been a big issue. It gets stuck in the ignition and the key broke off the fob. We have also had many electrical issues. The daytime running light on the driver's side does not work anymore. Changing the bulb does not resolve the issue. And the vehicle runs badly with the ac on.

Bright yellow and 4 wheel drive smaller SUV.
It has heated seats and steering wheel. 4 wheel drive and touch screen radio. Although it does not seem to have much power, I believe it only comes as a 4 cylinder. You can change the type of 4 wheel drive from a knob on the inside dashboard. It does not include a spare tire, just a tire repair kit.

There are cute features on it, the rear lights are dual colored.
It was bought used with some slight damage. It has a sunroof, moonroof panel system that opens up the top of the car. Manual transmission and 4wd. There's a five inch navigation system on the dash with Bluetooth to attach to your phone. It is pretty new to me. I haven't had any issues with it. Why I purchased a jeep renegade.
What I love about the jeep is the fact it easy to switch from off road to on road with ease. Being on a small farm I use this jeep for our lite chores. Carrying hay animal feed etc. And we do not have paved roads up here. Also the 4 wheel drive in the snow has proved to be reliable this year. We received a lot of snow here in MN so it was the first true test for this jeep being able to drive on unplowed roads with 4 inches of snow. And passed with flying colors. For me I wanted vehicle that could performance between driving in the city and then the country. It has several high tech features such as Bluetooth, hands free calling, back up camera and several other features. But this not the main reason of us purchasing the jeep but nice touches. I would purchase this vehicle again without any questions.

What is there not to love about the jeep renegade, it is fun, it is adventurous.
I love this car it is perfectly sized and I am 5,6, black exterior and interior and a lot of small details around the car to discover. Great to travel with friends and maybe a glass of wine in the hatch.I've has so many great memories. I encourage anyone to buy this car it is been a blessing for me.

Jeep renegade is a great car.
This is a really great car! It is a very comfortable ride and performs well. The turbo gives it a little kick when you accelerate. I have owned for over four years and have had zero problems. There are also a lot of fun hidden items, or easter eggs, throughout the car. For example a little old school jeep renegade on the trim of the windshield.

It is a quality little jeep that is roomier than one would expect.
The seats are really comfortable on long trips with quality lumbar support. The variety of 4 wheel drive options is wonderful depending on what type of surface you are on. I do wish there was a little more storage space in the back as well as more small spaces within reach of the driver to put a phone, keys, and other small items.

Jeep renegade coming from a first time mom.
I got my jeep renegade when I was 7.5 months pregnant with my first child. I needed something reliable for the baby and I. My friend had 2 jeep renegades and told me it would be perfect for a first time mom. I got one. It is been amazing. My son is 6 months old and it fits all of our needs. I am able to haul him in his car seat and be able to see him from the rear view mirror. The trunk is big enough to hold his full size stroller. And when we go grocery shopping everything fits perfectly. The only thing is I would not recommend it for super tall people. It might seem a little cramped. I am only 5 foot 2 inches so I do not have any problems but I could see it being an issue for taller people.

It gets good gas mileage both highway and around town.
It's a reliable vehicle that gets me where I need to go. It gets good gas mileage. It has plenty of storage.

I love my Jeep and will always buy the brand..
I love my Jeep renegade. To date I have had no problems with the car. It is efficient and has not been in that shop at all. I have had to replace the tires once, which is not bad for WN if I bought the vehicle again I would purchase a model with not anmendities .

It is incredibly safe and reliable, made with Mopar parts.
I live in an area that gets a lot of snow in the winter, so I love that my vehicle has 4WD. The Bluetooth radio is also a major plus. My only complaints are that the interior lights are not very bright and there is not much room to place my things if I have a car full of people. Otherwise, I love this car.

2016 Jeep renegade trailhawk review.
I haven't really had many problems with my renegade. I had to have the thermostat replaced, but otherwise it has been a wonderful vehicle so far. I love the heated steering wheel and heated seats option, although I wish the back seats had heated options. I would highly recommend the renegade!!

Jeep Renegades get good gas mileage.
I really love my Jeep Renegade except for the fact that where I bought it you do not get a spare tire with the car. I had to buy a spare tire and rim and this seems wrong. Car gets good mileage and I have had no trouble with it.

I totally love the jeep renegade.
It is the best car. It drives well and can adjust to any type of weather. It is the most trustworthy vehicle I have driven. It is cost efficient with gas and everything, and it is a fast vehicle with many interesting features. I would definitely recommend it to a friend.

I have over 100,00 miles on it.
I love the look of my jeep. It is great in the snow. There is also a lot of potential to customize it such as a lift, larger tires, roof rack lights etc.

It has cute little hidden jeep logos all over it.
I love my 2016 jeep renegade. It is reliable. Given me no issues. It is comfortable. It is fairly spacious., considering. The Bluetooth is easy to connect. My only complaint is the 911 assist is where the light buttons should be. I have often mistakenly hit the 911 assist when trying to hit the light.

Squealing brakes eek— not living up to jeep brand.
1st experience with jeep and been pretty disappointed. Right out of the gate the brakes on this vehicle squeal... Been back to the dealer over and over only to be told “it’s just jeep brakes”... Also the gear shift is located literally next to your knee and yes it can be knocked by your knee into neutral while driving.

Small but mighty renegade.
I haven't had any major maintenance issues with the vehicle yet. It is very reliable and gets me where I need to go. I like the different four wheel drive options. It is smaller than other jeeps but fits my family (two dogs and a 6’4” boyfriend) comfortably.

This vehicle will not be the best for long commutes.
If you have neck, or shoulder pain, this vehicle is not easy to drive. It will clear up to 15 inches of water off-roading. It is decent on gas, however, does not accelerate at a speed that is ideal. This vehicle came with beats audio system, which is the best part about it.

Jeep renegade Trailhawk is a nice ride. It handles the road/trail very well.
The jeep has bucket seats which are really nice. The only problems that have been are the plastic on the inside is easily scratched and the Bluetooth will not read my messages and does not always connect to my phone. However the drive is great! Especially riding off road to the creek and cabin.

Gracious amount of space.
This car has been very reliable and still runs as if it's brand new. I purchased the jeep renegade in 2017 and it drives very smooth only problem is the wind noise. I enjoy the amount of space this vehicle has to offer. Only con is the fuel economy. Overall reliable.

It gets pretty good gas mileage and has plenty of power
It's a small SUV but it gets good gas mileage and has plenty of room. Comfortable for all passengers and driver. Good in all types of weather. Sleek design and look

Jeep renegade, 75th anniversary edition, Mojave.
I absolutely love this vehicle! It is very good in the winter, the remote start is a good feature during the winter - once the temperature outside is below 40 degrees f the heated seats and the steering wheel come on automatically. Different 4wd styles, help with different types of terrain. The speakers could be updated, but I do like them for the sound that is put out. Mine has the sky view roof, which are carbon fiber panels that can be removed from the roof. I have wanted a jeep for a very long time, I sold my older car, it was a dodge neon, to be able to buy a newer stroller when I was a young mom. I bought a jeep brand stroller, for the name. Years later, and with a more stable job, I was able to afford my very own, and I couldn’t be happier.
