Very reliable car. Safe. And pocket friendly on gas.
This is an older car with just shy of 200, 000 miles on it but has no problems whatsoever. Since buying it I just maintain the fluids and check any sounds that sounds off if they occur to prevent and future mechanical problems. This is a very reliable car that saves gas being a 4 cylinder. It's not your go fast and powerful muscle car but gets me from A to B. It has no ac till I put a new compressor but that's not a priority at this moment. My next maintenance will be a new tire and all new brakes. I got this car for a very good deal and will make a profit on future sale but for now it's my street licensed go kart.

Reliable Kia Rio hatchback.
I have not experienced many problems at all with this vehicle. It drives great, good on gas mileage, and I never worry that it's not reliable. It is very simply made. Power windows and locks, CD player, automatic transmission. Mine is the hatchback which I happen to love. Holds more in the back than it seems. The only thing I don't like about it is the belts are not self adjusting. So you end up having to take it to a mechanic unless you have someone to help you that knows what they're doing because it's a two person job. Other than that I have nothing bad to say about it.

Costly repairs after driving car frequently.
I love that it is small and easy to drive, but car does not seem to be made to drive frequently as I have had to put many repairs into this car in less than a year. Both cv axles, both front and rear brakes, rotors and drums, belts, valve cover, etc. Motor mounts ar wearing down as well.

This vehicle still has hand roll up windows and no cruise control
This vehicle is used to commute daily at 200 miles each day, it has been very reliable but the brakes have been changed 3 times due to noise. We have tried factory brakes and off brand brakes and still makes noise. Other than the brakes it has been a good vehicle for what it is used for

I think dependability and ready parts availability are cars best feature
It is dependable and gets good mileage. Not as comfortable as I might wish, but it is economy car

Love the height of the vehicle.
My Kia riot has been reliable. I use it for work and it's been great. But I do not like that everything is manual on it. I hate having to reach over to roll down my windows. It should have 6 gears instead of 5 at least it's my opinion.

I love the color it's a baby blue.
I enjoy my Kia Rio because the gas mileage is great. The Kia is very good at taking corners and parking in tight places, I know it's a dependable car when I take it on road trips. The fabric in the Kia is super soft as well. Only car that has never given me a buttache after a 5 hour drive. I believe that this car would be most fitting for a college student or someone who has to make a commute where ever that maybe.

High fuel consumption. Air conditioning issues.
My car is really good and works very well. I bought the car from a friend and she had driven it for up to 140,000 miles but the car still works perfectly. No issues asides fuel consumption and the ac which does not cool well. Other than that it is good and I basically just start the car and go every morning.

Kia riot 2006 issues that I came across.
The few problems I ran into owning a Kia riot 2006 is the locks and windows are manual so that can be hard when having others come into your car, if the steering wheel is not straight the key ignition does not turn, the fuse for my horn was hard to find in stores and had to end up buying it on online, and I seem to go through a lot of motor oil which could possibly be a leak.
accountCircle Melissa R on September 23, 2020
Dependable. Goes a long way on a tank if gas.
No issue a. Runs well. Just getting older and need to keep check on oil. Great mileage. Gas cost is low.
accountCircle Jake T on August 31, 2020
The gas mileage is amazing and doesn't cost very much to fill up at all.
It gets very good gas mileage, which is good because I save money on gas. It's broken down on me a lot though. Overall a good vehicle.

It gets great gas mileage!
I like that it is good on gas and that it is 5 spd. I don't like that it is getting older and the repairs are costing more.

A perfect fit of a Kia riot for a 24 year old.
Problem: my brakes makes a lot of noise. Performance: outstanding. Reliability: very much so. Comfort: good. Features: good as well.

If someone else is driving my car, the most important thing they should know is that the door handle on the driver side broke this month and I have not yet repaired it. They need to know this because they will have to roll down the window to open it. They should also know that the air conditioning works but sometimes when you turn it off it will turn back on. So you may have to return it to the off position a couple times for it to remain in the off position. It may be easier to just turn the AC temperature to neutral so that it is just not cooling the air that is blowing.
My major complaint about my vehicle would be the cost of repair when I do have to repair it. It also is at a point where it is starting to experience a lot of issues, which is frustrating because my boyfriend's toyota is 6 years older with the same mileage and doesn't exhibit the same level of degradation as my vehicle. What I do like about it is the gas mileage, it is a small vehicle and I do feel like I spend a lot less in gas than most people do which is great. I also kind of like that it's not an impressive looking car because I have never had an issue with my car being broken in to despite having lived in Hollywood for a long period of time. I have had several friends express that they have had issues with that in the area and I have accidentally left my car unlocked several times with no issues and I believe it is the result of it being a simple unimpressive/not attention drawing vehicle.

My dependable Kia rio. I own a 2006 4 door Kia rio.
I own a Kia Rio. I am very happy with my car. Its small on the outside, but very roomy and comfortable inside. It's very easy and fun to drive. It gets great gas mileage. I've driven my Rio around town and taken it on long trips with the whole family and had a very comfortable trip. I am very happy with my Rio and would buy another one most definitely.

Most important is the reliability.
2006 Kia rio, so far, it is been great, still gets about 30 mpg and the only bad is that the ignition coils started going out after the 10 year mark. The vehicle has been very reliable and has little over 210, 000 miles on it.
accountCircle Kaitlin T on March 6, 2020
That it has great mileage and doesn't take a lot of gas
It doesn't have a lot of give to it when you're trying to speed up. It's a little too small for my taste. But it does get great gas mileage. And it only takes about 20 bucks to fill out.
accountCircle Terry z on February 22, 2020
Very dependable and the gas mileage
Like the gas mileage. Uses many sets of tires.
accountCircle Paul C on January 14, 2020
It gets pretty decent gas mileage for a 2006 model car.
The Kia Rio has been a reliable car. I have had several of the ignition coils and belts break over the years, but usually just repair these myself at cheap costs.
accountCircle Pascal N on January 12, 2020
The car that will get you where you need to go!
The car is very reliable and has great gas mileage and drivability. The chairs are comfortable but get hot in the summer. The car has manual windows no electronic features. The car's battery last a good portion and the parts are easily accessible when repairs are needed.

Excellent starter vehicle
It has over all been an awesome first car. I have had limited issues with this car. I have had to replace the rotors twice due to uneven wear. It still gets excellent gas mileage despite being 13 years old now. I can rely on it to get me just about anywhere.
accountCircle Linda O on November 19, 2019
Great car with minor issues.
I like the fact that my car is small and that it meets my needs. But the issues I have is with engine problems. I love the fact that my Kia is great on miles. The trunk was had lots of room. The tropical red color was pretty color. I like the kid lock on the back door.

It is very reliable. I travel on my job and this car is very dependable with very little cost. I will buy another one.
I love the fact that it has 180,000 miles and has had one repair. I love the gas mileage. I love the fact that it has no power windows, doors, etc. I love the fact that it was very affordable and I have gotten my money's worth out of it.
accountCircle Cindy R on November 10, 2019
It is a reliable car that will last a long time if you treat it right.
I like that it was in my price range. It has a great gas mileage. I dislike that it doesn't have cruise control and automatic locks.

Slightly reliable Kia Rio
This car was really reliable when I first got it but as time went on, it started to get more and more problems. Despite this, I really do love it being that it's my first car but it's always one problem after another. I like the size and it's actually quite spacious despite its compact look on the outside.
accountCircle Jennifer M on October 4, 2019
I have not had a ton of maintenance in 6 years.
Very cramped backseat, really only suitable for children. The exterior is made of cheap plastic so be very careful to not smash your bumper on anything. The gas mileage could be much better for a small car. It is cramped even in the front seats, so this is not a suitable car for anyone over six feet tall.
accountCircle Maria B on September 6, 2019
Reliable and gets great gas mileage.
My Kia rio5 is reliable. It gets good gas mileage averaging between 25-32 miles per gallon. Only replaced the clutch one time and has close to 150 thousand mile.
accountCircle Sandra T on September 5, 2019
For a small car, it has a decent amount of legroom.
I'm a small woman and this car is the right size for me.

Five Year Kia Rio Experience
It's had multiple problems over the years and taken several hundred dollars in repairs. However, it is very easy to drive and the gas mileage is great. Both of the front doors have broken in the past month, though, which is very concerning. I have to keep my windows open to open the doors from the inside.
accountCircle Jim C on August 8, 2019
Very reliable for the price.
Low maintenance, good on gas. Good.. Acceleration for a 4 cylinder.. Has poor suspension rides stiff..
accountCircle Kai Smith W on August 4, 2019
It will need a lot of maintenance.
It is small on the outside but roomy on the inside. It has a lot of defaults. Parts are expensive to replace.

This car has really good gas mileage, great car to get you to and from.
My car has been very reliable. It's over 130,000 and hasn't had any major issues. It is however, very very basic. Has a CD player, but that's about it. Gets good gas mileage.

It is very economical and is great for a first car for a teenager.
The car gets great gas mileage. It has a lot of trunk space and holds 5 people comfortably. I do not like that the car is so close to the ground because it gets stuck in the snow or mud.
accountCircle Samantha P on February 14, 2019
I think others should know how reliable my car really is.
My Kia Rio I bought used in 2008. I have had minimal problems with it since then and the last time it was inspected the mechanic told me how great my little car is. Is been very reliable and great on gas.

There is no cruise control or abs brakes.
I do not like that this car does not have cruise control. I like having cruise control because I drive on the highway a lot. I also do not like that there is no spot for AUX to hook up my phone. I wish this car was a little bigger also. I like that the seats fold down though.

Black Kia riot 2006. Small car.
It is great, runs great. The only thing wrong is the air conditioner belt. It squeaks when o turn on the car. Overall this is a great car. As long as a cat is well maintained any car is good. My car runs well. It is reliable. The only issue I have with it now is that it is a very small car and I need something a little bigger for my kids to have more space.

The Kia Rio is one of the best made cars I've ever owned. Low on frills, high on reliability.
I love my car. Reliable, everything still works. Still, I'd love to have a newer vehicle so that I wouldn't worry about taking long trips, etc.

Mostly 'No Good' and One 'Pretty Good'
This make and model has no extras: no power windows, locks, seats. There is no insulation from exterior noise. I've had to replace all 4 lifters. Due to its size, it struggles in deep snow and can actually be blown sideways in strong wind situations. It DOES get a minimum of 28 miles to the gallon of gas.
accountCircle Maria C on December 17, 2018
My awesome zip around car.
The car is a 5 speed which I live because I have so much more control. It gets 23 mpg which saves me money at the pump. I like that it has 5 doors and is versatile in that I can lower the back seat backs and can load and carry long boards and poles. I plan to keep my vehicle for at least two more years.

Tired but still running but most of all paid for.
It is just getting old like me it is got about 160,000 miles on it just replace the brakes got new tires on it and the check engine light comes on due to o2 sensors all in all it is starting to nickel and dime me I wish I could afford to buy another one but my budget will not allow me.
