I would have to say that the performance of this 2007 Kia is of high quality.
I bought my 2007 Kia brand new off the dealers lot in 2007 with 13 miles on it. Here in may 2019, and 210,000 miles later my little Kia is still rolling around. Only thing I had to change was the water pump and that was 100,000 miles ago. I maintained its great gas mileage by doing regular maintenance on the engine as well as keeping the engine compartment oil and grease free. This is the greatest little car I have ever owned, and will keep it when I purchase my next new car.

It was great gas mileage.
Great on gas and holds Its value it has great space. It is bigger than it seems. And it is has a good sound system.
accountCircle Karl w
It is very fuel efficient.
I like everything about my Kia. It has been a good car sense I bought it in 2008. I have no complaints about it. I have had only minor problems. Nothing major.
accountCircle Vincent V
I've had it since I was 17 and only had to be 2000 into it in all 8 years. Gas is also amazing as well as ac.
It was my dad's. Though the parts are expensive, if properly maintained, not a problem.
accountCircle Debra F
Reliable and great family car.
Its small, quick & lots of fun to drive. Also, its getting old, lots of miles,& unfortunately, starting to show her age.
accountCircle Adriana W
They should know that it is fun and easy to drive.
I like that my car is very small and easy to drive. Although, now that it is older, it is starting to fall apart a little bit. Otherwise, no complaints.
accountCircle Nancy D
It's a Kia and never had any issues. Fill up gas tank and it last for 2 1/2 weeks.
It's a great car. It's small and reliable. Love it.
accountCircle Jess B
It can fit mostly anywhere. It lasts a long time, as long as you do normal maintenance
I like that it's my size. I can fit in many parking spaces. It lasts long.

Negative Owner Reviews

I am not a big of Kias in general.
Well, the car didn't run when we bout it for $500. We have put thousands of dollars into it. Since we got it running: we have to tighten the belts every 3 months, it has overheated twice, the ac has stopped more than once, the black around the windows has come off. Not happy at all.
accountCircle claudia h
You get what you pay for - it is cheap; plastic everything.
It is easy to park since it is very small, but it has no pick-up didn't come with side airbags like the sales sticker stated and the a/c and radio/cd player broke very early on
accountCircle nate F
Bare bones. It'll get you there but not in style. Good starter car for a kid.
It's reliable and easy to maintain. It has weird electrical problems with the AC in that it just shuts on/off randomly. Things like handles and seals are coming loose.

10 years owning a Kia rio.
This car is good for zipping around town. The ergonomics are not the best if you are on the tall side, but okay for local driving. The small engine means it is hard to gain speed and things like the ac really drain some of the cars power. All in all not a bad car for what you pay.
accountCircle Nicole m
It's cheap and it's a car that gets you to place a to b
I don't like how low to the ground it is and how it can't fit a lot of people. Not very safe for a kid
accountCircle Tracy N
It's wonderful on gas highlight and it gets me from point A to point B.
My car drives great. I take care of the maintenance. My ac sent out this past summer. I live in Texas and its hot but the car is not worth the money that it would take to fix ac. New compressor and dryer the repair shop wants $900 dollars and I don't have that.
accountCircle Kimberly A
My car is paid for. I own it. I have no car payment
I like that it gets me from a to b. I don't like the fact that it's only 4 cylinders. I don't like the color (black) I like the fact that it's paid for.
accountCircle Jeannette D
It is a cute car. I like that it is a hatchback.
We bought my car for $500. It didn't run. We have put over $2000 to make it run. It had $800 of tires on it. No power anything. The ac does not always work. The windshield is cracked. The black rubber around the windows is coming off. The belts squeal. The belts need tightened every 3 months.

Pros from Owners

likeFilled Canda B.

The only con has been that when it was new, the check engine light kept coming on and we had to take it to the dealership to fix it. Pros?...It was just the light itself that was faulty. It was fixed for free and we even got a free rental car while it was being repaired. Very reliable, nice looking car. I would buy another.

likeFilled Joshua B.

It has the power to get up and go when you need it to and it is a comfortable ride. It has decent gas mileage for an older vehicle. The stock sound system is not bad. My kids fit in the back seat comfortable. It has a good amount of cargo space and has been reliable.

likeFilled Heaven P.

The pros of this vehicle it is a hatchback I feel like that gives more for grocery shopping or just shopping in general. It is very compact but still has room. I love that interior was black and not leather, it makes it easier to remove stain from the seats.

likeFilled Bill K.

When I bought it for good mileage, 4 doors, air conditioning, CD player, and automatic power steering. The car is 4 cylinder engine. With an am/FM stereo radio. This car seats five people. Plus has four moveable headrests.

likeFilled Alaina C.

The Kia Rio I own is a very reliable vehicle. It has a hatchback which is very easy for storage purposes. The car also has pretty good gas mileage, and it does not take a lot of money to fill up the tank. The car is spacious.

likeFilled Barb B.

When I first purchased the vehicle I had 3 sensors go bad in 3 months. The warranty covered them but I was still without transportation to work for a number of days. Other than that it gets good gas mileage and has run good since.

likeFilled Abigail L.

It is small enough to fit into tight spaces and very maneuverable. It has good reaction time so that I can counter any traffic situations I am in. It also has a great turn radius, and I can easily make sharp corners and angle properly out of parking spaces and small areas. It is easy to drive, fun to drive, and great on gas mileage.

Cons from Owners

dislikeFilled Canda B.

Just that we had trouble with the check engine light... NOT the engine, just the light. Great car. Fantastic warranty and service. I really cannot think of any other cons. It is been a great car. The light coming on was startling.

dislikeFilled Joshua B.

When it does break down the repairs are expensive. I have had to teach myself how to do the repairs so I can afford to keep the car running. It will only be big enough for a little while longer as my kids are growing up and will not fit in the backseat much longer. It is good for 2 people but adults will not fit in the back comfortable.

dislikeFilled Heaven P.

I do not like the outside interior I would prefer a different color. I wish that the car was just a little bit lifted and that the car could hold more gas per mileage. I do not like how the ceiling of the vehicle is easy to accumulate stains.

dislikeFilled Bill K.

There locks for the doors manually key unlocked. The car is too small, has manual hand operated side mirrors. The hood is hard to open for service. There is very little floor space or room for the knees except for very short or small people under five foot tall.

dislikeFilled Alaina C.

The cons of my Kia Rio would be the stereo. I replaced the stereo because it was outdated and did not have an aux cord. Also, the roll up windows and the manual locks on the doors is difficult when you have more than one person in the car. It is small inconveniences.

dislikeFilled Barb B.

It is getting to be an older car now and so I worry about more things breaking down. I have recently lost the radio and the heater no longer works correctly. I also sometimes have issues with the steering column/ignition switch and starting the car. As long as I pull in straight before shutting the car off it seems to be ok.

dislikeFilled Abigail L.

There's not a lot of room, seating is limited. It does not have much power, and it is sometimes difficult to get moving. I can easily peel out instead of actually going anywhere when I have to step on the gas. It sometimes has a bit of a struggle getting up inclines and hills.

Is The 2007 Kia Rio A Good Car?

Yes it is, I am very happy and pleased with it is performance, comfortable ride, and gas mileage, nice body style, low maintenance.
ang b.
I would say it's probably both. It went through a stretch at about 50k miles where 3 sensors went out in a 4 month time period. It was expensive and since then I'm always worried it will happen again.... Read More

I paid 18,000 for it new and thought it was a very good deal for the price, actually worth more than I paid for it.
