The outside of the car is extremely unique. It stands out in a parking lot.
It's a good car, but it struggles a lot on the highway. Since I have had this car, it is had a lot of minor issues that my previous car did not. It struggled on the highway, often starting to shake by the time it hit 70 mph. The gas pedal is not very sensitive, making it difficult to even get up to speed. The lights are not that bright, and as someone with very bad eyesight, I need to have very bright headlights. The seats however are very comfortable and the steering wheel itself does not veer one way or the other. Overall, the car is not that great even though it is not that old of a car.
Great car would buy another one.
Has a lot of miles and have not had many problems except the normal wear and tear oil changes wipers battery had to replace the tie rod ends and breaks but like I said the normal stuff it has something like 222280 miles on it and still drives like a champ gets good gas mileage check engine light has been on for ever said its an o2 sensor but never took the time to replace been a great car and I am not looking forward to replacing it but know I will have to because its rusting due to salt from living in Michigan. Love my old bestie!
The stock stereo system is better than any other car I have seen.
The problems I have had with this vehicle is electrical, and battery issues. At one point my headlight, tail light, and dash all went out and my lights would flicker inside, cost me over 350. 00 to fix it. The car is amazing on gas mileage. The battery has stopped working a couple of times in the 2 years that I have had it. But I love the interior of the car and the stock stereo system. Its very fast and reliable and affordable. I would highly recommend this car for a daily commuter.
Not the most luxurious, but is a solid car and will get you from a to b.
There is a consistent problem with the battery and circuit connectivity. The light system can also drain the battery if not turned off when not in use. The steering and action is agile. The engine is smaller, so uphill of any kind are a struggle and water can drastically affect my ability to get the car moving, especially uphill. The seats are standard fare, the trunk spacious, and the radio system perfect for plugging in a phone, or playing CD's.
This Kia is very reliable, gas saver.
I really enjoy my Kia as it saves me on gas mileage in town as well as the freeway, it is reliable, affordable, comfortable, all wheel drive, parts are fairly easy to replace if need be, my car has lasted me a lifetime already with maintaining tune ups and regular maintenance this car is the best and will guarantee to get you to and from anywhere. Excellent affordable reliable car!! Highly recommended, great performance.
Bought used, runs as expected.
Purchased vehicle used in 2017. Has needed some expected, typical repairs- brake pads, 2 tires, battery. Also had electrical problem requiring professional diagnosis and replacement of wiring.
Generally runs well. Decent mileage (sorry, no exact figure, but fewer fill ups than its predecessors. Starts well in cold and acceptable handling in snow and ice when driven properly.
Comfortable for driver and passengers.
Regular oil and transmission checks will keep the car running at peak performance and gas usage with very little else to do.
I have been thoroughly pleased with My Kia Spectra sx. A few problems i have encountered over the past two years of ownership have been physical; steering wheel melting in high heats, paint chips and dents easily. As well as some equipment problems like the fan in the car cutting off for weeks at a time and restarting again later. Other than those things the engine is easy to maintain and rides very smoothly.
The best car I have ever owned!
My Kia spectra sx is the third vehicle I have personally owned and it is also my favorite. I drive it everyday. It is very reliable sedan and has not had any major problems. It has a manual gear shifter which makes driving interesting. It has radio, ac, heat, 5 seats, electric windows, and storage space in trunk. I plan to keep this car in my possession for the next couple of years.
It is a great commuter car with excellent gas mileage.
The car gets me an average of 30-35 mpg. It is compact, but the trunk space is still large enough to fit large suitcases and bulky items. The back seat folds down for even larger items. My only complaint is that the car runs loud and a little rough, but that's mostly because it has a smaller engine - I've had other small cars (Chevy Aveo, Hyundai Accent) that had similar 'issues'.
Good on gas needs exterior and interior work.
My vehicle is very used, had a lot of bad belts, filters, and other items that totaled over $670 of repairs and it still needs more that I can not afford right now, it is a good gas saver also small for tight spaces, bodywork is not so bad could use new tires, I can only get used ones right now, and I have also had to get another alternator after the other work.
A good car to begin with .
My car is semi reliable, it just takes a lot of work due to the year as any older model would. Besides the age causing some more problems than most vehicles. Comfort is very high, I enjoy the plush seats because they do not absorb heat as other styles would. Also the technology is very useful but it out of date because the new digital scene has entered.
2006 Kia Spectra opinion.
This vehicle has been very reliable over the last twelve years. It has decent performance but could be a little faster. The only real problem I have encountered is that I bent an intake valve and for whatever reason it is been overheating since I got it fixed and I do not know why. Other than that it has been very reliable and pretty comfortable.
A good compact car, which is good in convenience for most day to day things.
The problems of my car are reasonable because it is an older model. The performance is well compared to cars of the year. The comfort is very good due to the plush seats. Reliability is good besides the battery being old, the tires are unreliable, and the speedometer does not work. There are no special features due to the make year.
My spectra just 4 wheels to get from A to B.
I bought is from a friend with just 36000 miles 3 years ago. I have spent over $4, 000 in repairs for oil leaks in engine. The car hours of nut with air on it sounds like the e engine is working hard. Very few amenities which I will want in my next car like backing screen, Wi-Fi, built in navigation. I want a Kia Soul.
It is mine. I take pride in the ownership of my Kia.
I like the fact that it is a reliable and dependable car with good gas mileage. It has very little wrong with it and is easy maintenance, however I am suited to be in an SUV type vehicle if I personally had the option to afford what I wanted versus what is in my budget as a realistic buy for me and my family needs.
Good car overall with good gas mileage.
Very reliable, great gas mileage, not many problems, inexpensive, comfortable seats but the cabin is a little small. Can use for years, mileage does not stop car from running well. Good commuter car and quite a large trunk. Know it will last for years before thinking of getting a new one.
Old, but reliable mostly.
The oxygen sensor is out and no matter how many times I replace it, the engine light is still on. It is very loud and it shakes. On the other hand, it gets ok gas mileage, it has a lot of trunk space and is roomy. I have never had any major problems with it. It is lasted a long time.
The flaws of the beautiful car and comfortable car makes a great and useful.
My car is unreliable, the battery dies out, the speedometer goes out when driving, and the oxygen sensor is also unreliable. It is comfortable with plush seats and the color is white which does not attract much sun. Other than comfort the car is wonderful besides the small fixes.
I love my Kia because it is always dependable.
The most important feature is the reliability, not having to doubt it will give good service it handles well and has good response when accelerating. The Kia has given good mechanical service as well with the battery tires and engine parts the Kia rides smoothly on most roofs.
5/5 would recommend for families looking for an inexpensive car.
Good family car, easily fits a newborn car seat. Large trunk space. I commute to work so I need something that is good on gas. Great gas mileage on the highway and when I am driving around town. Would recommend to someone looking for a reliable vehicle without paying too much.
This is an all round a good car.
I really love my car. One of the problems that I have with it is that the gas cap is faulty, so the check engine light is always on. It also shows that there is a passenger when there is not, so the sensor is faulty as well. Other than that it has been a very reliable car.
Parts on it are constantly needing to be replaced, whether it is the struts, engine parts, I get one thing replaces and another thing goes.
The vehicle seems cheaply made, numerous problems occur with the overall function of the vehicle. I've already had to replace the engine, and I was between a rock and a hard place when I bought it used from the dealership. It's what they had that fit my needs at the time.
Kia spectra 2006 brief review.
The electronics go out after long usage and it is hard to find a garage that knows how to work on this model and make. Other than no a/c and the radio coming and going, the car has been more than reliable and gets me from a to b every single time. Very good starter car.
My car has too many issues.
While my car is paid off, it has quite a few problems. Some of the electrical components will just stop working, like the speedometer will stop in the middle of driving or the radio changes itself. Ac does not really work. I need a new/better car but cannot afford one.
This car has been passed down by my family members since it was bought new.
It is a little white Kia. The passenger air vent has stopped working on the right side and the mechanics couldn't fix it for some reason. It can handle some snow. The gas mileage is really good on long road trips but struggles to maintain speed going up steep inclines.
Good little gas saver with a surprisingly amount of room inside!
Seems to be a great little car. I bought it used. The front end has a bit of a shimmy to it, may be a motor mount. Generally a good little gas getter that is surprisingly roomy inside and easy to fit three children (including one bulky car seat) across the back.
2006 Kia spectra- solid little car.
It is a good car, easy to take care of. Drives well, feels good. Got it second hand and it operates as well as I could hope for. Only issue I have had is with an airbag sensor shorting out, since it'd be a big expensive pain to fix, and I am not about that life.
Over 110, 000 miles and still going.
I love my Kia, it has remained in good shape since I bought it, and the mileage has been terrific. For a smallish car it is comfortable and I am happy with it, so far. I would recommend a spectra to any of my friends who want to save on an economical car. .
Check engine light is on frequently
I have had very few problems with this car. The check engine light seems to come on about once a year. When I take it to mechanic, they say the cause that the computer shows is working correctly so they shut it off and we do it again next year.
My car has been very reliable. It gets me where I need to go traveling back and forth to work daily without any major issues.
My car has been very reliable. It is a good size for a sedan. Great amount of room in the trunk. Comfortable seats and easy to clean. Will be looking to upgrade to a crossover soon and will definitely be looking at another Kia.
Great for a starting family car.
The check engine pops up by itself and turns off by itself. It is a good size with a spacious trunk. It is great on gas and has a decent tank size. It is comfortable and I love that the seats are manual instead of electrical.
It is a good first family car.
It has been reliable so far. I do a lot of traveling for personal, and I commute for work. I get great gas mileage. The only thing is, my CD player is starting to die on me. Other than that it is a great car.
My Kia spectra drive very well in the snow. .
My car is 11 years old, and has been in my family passed down from members. The belts, o2 sensor, breaks, blower motor (for heat) hat to be re-done. I thing that is pretty good for the amount we drive it. .
It lasted a long time without needing any major repairs.
It's an old car but is still running, I bought it new. It feels safe. It is starting to need multiple repairs. Some odd reason you can't run the ac during the summer. I'm afraid it will stop running.
It is an expensive car to own because of repairs.
Its reliable, comfortable, good mileage and easy to drive. I have this car since 2006 and have no reason to trade it in. I would definitely recommend this car to anyone who is looking for a new car.
It may move a little slower at first but it is still a very reliable car after all of these years.
I love the horsepower on it. It doesn't feel like you are going fast at all. I also like the color which is silver. It is older now so maintenance is becoming more troublesome to deal with.
Easy, compact low rider - the Kia Spectra
My Kia Spectra is a good solid car. She is a bit of an older car, so there have been some issues with the engine and the stick shift. However, she does performs well driving in city.
For the price it has lasted me longer than any other car I've ever had.
I've had this car for 11 years and have not had any problems other than brakes & rotors needing replaced. I don't drive much though. It's been pretty good to me so I do love it.
Kia Spectra: A Great Family Car with comfort and reliability
My car is perfect for a family. Great gas mileage (approx 25 mpg City) and has been very reliable in getting us from point A to point B. Has had very little breakdowns.
If the a/c does not work you have to hit the blower under the dash.
I like that my car gets me from point A to point B and I like the size. I hate that I cannot get it to pass emissions and there's constantly something wrong with it.
It may not look nice and it may not have all the bells and whistles, but for a card that is over a decade old, it works great.
My vehicle can fit into any spot. My complaint has to do with the door, randomly it stopped opening. However, for the most part, my car does what it needs me to do.
The all wheel drive is nice.
I like my car's general style. It functions. It is a little buggy because it is a used vehicle. It also has no aux connection which is weird and annoying.
Kia, It one of the most reliable I've driven.
I have not had any problems with my Kia. It is very reliable and gets great gas mileage. It is not really that comfortable, but it has cruise control.
That it is safe and reliable unit.
Great gas mileage, decent clean engine. Do not like electric windows, door handles have broken to much plastic parts. Needs more bottom end power.
Do not use extra floor covers in the front.
it gives a nice comfortable ride. it delivers good gas mileage. it is rather roomy. it is a nice pleasing color, both interior and exterior.
Very compact and great gas mileage. Very fun to drive.
I like how small it is and how well it runs. I do not like that it is not as fuel efficient as I wish it was but other then that I love my car.
Reliability and comfort. Often mistakenly identified as BMW and Mercedes.
I like my vehicle because it is small enough for me it is a gas saver I can get in and out of traffic is small economic size I love my vehicle.
It gets good gas mileage in the city and on the interstate
It gets really good gas mileage. It's pretty roomy for what It's.other than changing the oil haven't had any problems.wish the radio was better.
As I said it is very reliable.
It is reliable and comfortable. I enjoy driving it and the gas mileage is ok. I like the hatch back it creates a lot of extra room in the car.
For the age of the car, it's endurance and low miles is pretty impeccable!
My vehicle is high quality, covering over 1000 miles - it's got a new exhaust. Working AC/ high performance in speed with reliable new tires.
It isn't the greatest in more tha3 to 4 inches of snow but that's because of low ground clearance.
For being so old the car runs well. I have had it 3 years and have only had yo change the tires. The heating and cooling systems work well.
Can last a long time if it is taken care of and fixed when needed it
Car has a high mileage, no tinted windows or updated radio station. Will need a lot of work but is still very reliable. Very good in gas.
Not a 4 x 4 but drives great on snow.
It is reliable, good on gas, has plenty of legroom. Easy to drive and park. 4 doors makes it easy for kids or grandkids to get in or out.
This car is very reliable and gets me where I need to be without any worries!
I really like the color, style, and reliability of the vehicle. For it's age, I don't like that water leaks inside the car when it rains.
It is economic, doesn't use up much gas.
It's a reliable vehicle. Most problems are electrical but it is comfortable, doesn't spend much gas and it is a good size, compact.

2006 Kia Spectra!!!!! Compact car great on Gas
Great on gas, small and easy to maneuver in right spaces but sits low to the ground. It is a 5 speed manual transmission great car
It saves a whole bunch of money on gas. Kia spectra can last for years.
I like my car because it is very reliable. I dislike that it is getting older. I like that these vehicles can last a long time.
Small but it is very functional
I like the style and the fact that my car is compact. I dislike the under the hood performance. Sometimes it has major issues.

Great value for the price.
It is reliable and does well for a 2wd in snow and it handles nicely. No complaints. It is a bit like a luxury vehicle.
The O2 sensor needs replaced alot.Mine has had to be replaced several times since buying the car
This car performs well and is low maintenance. The biggest problem is that the O2 sensor needs to b replace constantly

Overall it has been reliable basic transportation. Gas mileage is not bad but could be better.
It's a good car it is very dependable and easy to drive and handle
It's very dependable i just notice we have to tighten the transmission belt every 6 month
It's important to know that it has super low clearance. Any road obstacle can be dangerous.
