It has four wheel drive which makes it very helpful in the winter. It has a large area in the back for groceries and other things. It has plenty of legroom. It is a very reliable vehicle, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for an SUV.
There is good vision from seat. There is a lot of room in the back. Car has inexpensive and low maintenance. The car gets good gas mileage. Very comfortable and plenty of room for adults in the back row of seats.
Automatic locks and windows. Seat 5. USB. Hatchback. Spacious. Speedy. Not enough leg room. Radio stops working for a few room. No speed on hills. Limited cup holders. Great mileage. Has been on multiple cross country trips.
Sporty/outdoorsy look, low maintenance, kid friendly, nice trunk space, decent gas mileage. I have driven the car for many years and it is still running well. Just enough space for kids and large items but not overly bulky.
The size and roominess for an SUV. There is more than enough room for 5 people to ride comfortably and still have plenty of room for any cargo we would need to travel with. I also find the seats comfortable and there is ample room in the front for the driver and passenger as well.
It has maintained well during years. It has a smooth driving on well paved vias which supports the durability of brakes. Also, it has not presented big motor issues according to this years, so that makes it a safe investment for a car.
All wheel drive, reliable, attractive. Great vehicle for snow, ice, fog and other bad weather. Good family vehicle that fits our car seat. Lots of storage/cargo space with back seats that fold down. Have not had to make any major repairs.
Unfortunately, it does not get very good gas mileage. If you are looking to save money on gas every month, a Kia Sportage is not the right choice for you. Everything else about the vehicle is pretty good though.
The car is twelve years old. There is some wear and tear like driver side visor keeps flipping down, the windshield wipers motors need to be replaced, the heater needs to be replaced, and the rear door and window hinges are not holding up.
The radio stops working sometimes, won't be turned down unless turn engine off. No speed on hills. Limited cup holders. And it drags or hesitates when defrost or air conditioner. Not enough room for backseat for 3 to be comfortable.
The sun visor has always had issues staying up, and I hear similar things from other Sportage owners. It also has a squeaky serpentine belt even after being replaced and it is especially noisy in the cold weather.
The gas mileage leaves a lot to be desired. I don't really have any other dislikes about it. The gas mileage is really my only issue with the vehicle. It was purchased used so there is not much that can be done to improve the gas mileage.
Well, only due to it is years, I must say that some accessories had been replaced, such as the sun protection lids. And also, the mechanism for the air conditioning adjustment levels has started to make a noisy sound when it is put on certain position. As for it is years, you can feel a bit of trembling when the page is not very steady.
None, I am very satisfied with my 2008 Kia Sportage and would purchase the same model again. The only part I have had to replace is the actuator which cost $240. It is a very popular vehicle so sometimes I go to the wrong one in parking lots!
The 2008 Kia Sportage has an average owner rating of 4.12 out of 5 which ranks it #13 of 23 other Compact SUVs.
