You'll Like The 2012 Lincoln MKX If...

For those looking for a midsize luxury SUV from a domestic automaker, the 2012 Lincoln MKX offers rounded, more traditional looks than the angular and aggressive Cadillac SRX, and the MKX's standard 305-horsepower V6 is still among the most powerful in this class.

Lincoln mkx review: comfort and luxury.

It is a great vehicle for comfort, safety and luxury. High up off the ground. Great sound system and excellent quality screen uses such as making phone calls, changing music, and finding directions. The car has a great interior with comfortable and luxurious seating including seat heaters in the front and back seats of the vehicle. The controls in the front are all easy to use and understand. Car comes with great trunk space, great for moving large objects, and it can tow a decent amount of weight, great for towing or camping. The visibility from the vehicle is amazing with large rear view mirrors and a system which lights up on the mirror for your blind spot to warn of vehicles close to you for when turning lanes. Overall there have been few problems with the vehicle. It also includes ambient lighting which has multiple colors and can be changed using the controls on the front screen panel.

It is very wide and I find it hard to park. The radio/GPS/ac controls are all on a touchpad system in the middle console. It requires taking your eyes off of the road to adjust anything. Also it fingerprints easily so when the sun is directly on it, you cannot see anything but the fingerprints. I do like the backup camera. It is very clear and a good size. Very comfortable ride and easy to drive except for the parking.

The Lincoln mkx is a great vehicle for me and my family. It has plenty of space for my family and has so many luxury features. I love the quality of the leather seats, the heated steering wheel, the heated and cooled seats, and the panorama roof. The all wheel drive keeps us moving safely even in winter snow.

Safety Recalls (1)

chevronDown icon
Power Train > Axle Assembly > Axle Shaft Jul 1, 2014
Report Receipt Date:
Jul 1, 2014
NHTSA Campaign:
14V393000
Summary:
Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain model year 2012-2014 Ford Edge and Lincoln MKX vehicles manufactured September 2, 2010, to November 30, 2013; 2013-2014 Ford Taurus and Lincoln MKS vehicles manufactured August 25, 2011, to November 30, 2013; and 2013-2014 Ford Flex and Lincoln MKT vehicles manufactured September 12, 2011, to November 30, 2013. In the affected vehicles, the halfshaft retention circlip may not have been properly installed, and as a result, the halfshaft may move outward and disengage from the linkshaft while driving and without prior warning.
Consequence:
If the halfshaft and linkshaft become disengaged while driving, power will no longer be transmitted to the wheels, increasing the risk of a vehicle crash. Additionally, if the parking brake is not applied before exiting the vehicle, the vehicle may roll away despite the transmission being placed in 'Park', increasing the risk of injury to exiting occupants and bystanders.
Remedy:
Ford will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the vehicles to make sure that the halfshaft is properly retained. If it is not, dealers will replace the linkshaft and also replace the halfshaft if it shows evidence of spline damage, free of charge. The recall began on August 4, 2014. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-800-392-3673. Ford's number for this recall is 14S10.
