Good gas mileage. Responsive handling. Adequate space without being a large vehicle. Good visibility with no real blind spots. Does well in snow and ice due to the front wheel drive and standard transmission.
Obviously the technology has changed since 2013. Not a good choice if you want a connected vehicle. But fun to drive and reliable mechanically. Mazda has been one of the best makes I have ever purchased for having a solidly built car with no rattles and squeaks from day 1.
The Mazda CX-5 is a safe roomy car that I like to drive. Another benefit is that it is also roomy and can hold quite a lot. It has held up well to use and not needed any major repairs to date. I only recently got new tires as they wear well on this car.
Not excess of leg room in the back seats. The model is a little lacking in horsepower but makes up for it with responsive handling. I do not like the steering wheel adjustment but that was also with another Mazda I owned previously.
Not up to take on technology. Not a good vehicle if you want the latest collision avoidance systems and lane changing warnings. Also not easy to reliably connect your smartphone to the built in audio system.
The Mazda CX-5 tends to be a little slow to accelerate. This can be troublesome as there are often times when you need to accelerate quickly and it can take a second or two to 'kick-in'. This is the only flaw or concern I have had with the vehicle.
The 2013 Mazda CX-5 has an average owner rating of 4.47 out of 5 which ranks it #5 of 24 other Compact SUVs.
