The cx-5 is a great vehicle. It is roomy, I am a big guy and I have more than enough space in the driver seat. For a four cylinder it has good pickup. Does okay on gas mileage. Is extremely dependable. I have had no major issues with it just routine maintenance. Mazda could use a better entertainment center setup but it has what I need.

Perfect family sized car with plenty of space.
I wanted a crossover SUV. Something that would give me height and enough space. It is just that! I love the comfort and easy drive of this car. It has enough space for both car seats. The back storage is enough for our stroller and my car organizer making loading up groceries a breeze. I also love the amount of cup holders and side door storage this car has. It is our go to vehicle for long city trips and road trips.

Great gas mileage, interior and other things could be better.
The gas mileage is incredible and is worth the tradeoff on other features. The drive is relatively smooth and the car handles and hugs the road very well. The vehicle has a lot of potential but I imagine extra additions would bring the price point up. The dash is cheaply made and not treating it with armor all or some sort of protection regularly will result in cracking. Particularly in the deep south or anywhere there are extreme weather changes. There are some sensor issues with the keyless remote and locking of the car. Keep remote batteries on hand as the remotes tend to use up the battery life every 4-5 months. It is a nice little car for the price point however the book value tends to drop relatively quickly.

Fantastic vehicle! Would definitely buy another one!
My car had been reliable, it is comfortable and drives great in the snow. I use it as a commuter car and it has almost 200,000 miles on it. We have changed belts on it twice but have not had any other issues. It is the best all wheel drive vehicle and I absolutely love it for bad weather conditions.

I love that the back seats can be folded with handles in the trunk, each back seat has a handle which is awesome. I love the safety features and the gas mileage. 2013 was the first year they made the cx 5 and I wish it was google play compatible but I am still happy.

Mazda cx-5 highlighted basics.
As of right now my Mazda has no know problems. This SUV has a backup camera and is also 4x4. Averages around 23 miles per gallon. The color of my SUV is a metallic blue. Tan interior and cloth seats. Would definitely recommend to someone who is looking for a good family SUV.

This car has been my go to car for the past couple of years. It has amazing miles per gallon and gets me from point a to point b just fine. It has not given me any problems since I got the car and is still running just fine. If you are looking to purchase an older car, this is the way car to look for.

Very reliable SUV from Mazda.
Very reliable vehicle. Easy to drive. Great suspension. Gas consumption is high though. Expensive to maintain because of the poor engine design under the hood. Had no problem ever on the road. Great driver visibility. Lots of air bags, including sideways. Good quality Audio system.

Mazda cx-5 is perfect for any lifestyle.
My car does extremely well in the snow and winter conditions. It is comfortable for long trips and the seat warmers are a necessity in winter months. Only issue is the locking mechanism is broken so I cannot open the tailgate door but not a necessity for me. Overall 10/10.

Great outdoor vehicle with occasional audio issues.
This car is perfect for my needs: driving to outdoor activities, running errands, and the occasional road trip. Skis and one bike fits well in the back with the seat down. Overall performance is great. The only recurring problem I have is sometimes when my phone is connected to the car's Bluetooth, I have trouble turning off the car.

Dependable 2013 Mazda cx-5.
Our cx-5 is seven years old now, with about 65,000 miles. It still looks great, runs well, and has never had to have any major repairs done. We've had few issues with anything (cosmetic) interior or exterior. We're very happy with it and will keep it as long as possible!

This car comes with many features that aid in your driving experience.
My favorite feature about this car is it is backup camera. It is lines help with parallel parking as well as seeing if you've pulled far enough into a space. The electronic controls to adjust the driver's seat are also very handy. The car comes with Bluetooth that is easy to connect to and you can have up to 8 devices registered to it. There is also a touch screen control for the radio, phone, etc. Which is super cool and handy. It can comfortably fit 3 people in the back seat. The trunk has plenty of space for storage. Not everything can fit in the car, but with the back seat down there’s quite a bit that would be able to fit. The bass on the radio is insane if you turn it all the way up. The side mirrors are easily adjustable. There is a blind spot detector that comes in handy when you are on highways and if you try to merge with someone in your blind spot it’ll beep right away. The car feels safe and rides smooth.

Best car I have ever driven.
I've been very happy driving this car. I bought this model used and it had very little issues. I've had it for around 3 years now and there has been no major issues and I have around 100,000 miles on the car. It drives smoothly and the brakes work perfect. I never have to worry about acceleration in time or braking too late.

My Mazda is perfect for me!
My Mazda cx-5 is perfect for a single woman with 2 dogs. I drive a lot and within the first year, I put over 80, 000 miles on it and I have had no problems with this car. It has plenty of room for my dogs to ride with me on long car rides. I love it a lot.

It's very easy to drive and even long trips I don't feel tired after 4 or 5 hours on the road. It almost drives itself with the great cruise control it has.
First of all I made a mistake it's a 2015 not a 2013. I like the way it handles on the road making it easy to drive. It has a lot of power and kicks in really quick if you need to speed up. Even though I have the back up camera and the light in the side mirrors to tell me if there is a car I can't see much because of the way the car is built. I learned to always look both ways before passing and that's what the California rule book says too but in the Mazda you just can't see if a car is close by. The other problem is trying to learn how to use the radio with a cell phone. The manuel is huge and it's complicated for people like myself haven;t fully learned how to use a cell phone!

It is cheaply made, its small and not very comfortable, it has navigation however, the navigation does not work. Some good things about it is that it has good speakers and they're really loud. As well as, having a spacious trunk which is really helpful for large carry ons.

Great car for anyone, family or single person.
I love the fact I can get out of it without hurting my needs. It gives us no trouble EVER. Maintain regularly and clean up with a wash and minimal care. Pleased with the car in a whole. It has had one recall and they did only what was needed and no other repairs needed. Our salesperson loves our little car and makes sure it works well. I would recommend this car at every angle. Fun to drive--the ultimate road trip vehicles!
I have not had a single issue with my Mazda and am incredibly impressed with the fuel economy for this car. In addition, it was affordable and the Touring package had everything I wanted. The only thing I have had to change is adding winter tires. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with not only the reliability but the stylish appearance and the features with a comfortable ride.

Have loved this car for 8 years.
My car is over 8 years old now and I have had no major issues with it. I of course in this time have had to replace brake pads and the battery. I love the size of it, not too big and not too small. My car before this was an Pontiac crossover and it was always giving me issues, to the point where I never knew if it was even going to start. My cx 5 on the other hand is so reliable. I would absolutely get another one for my next car.

Great, reliable, sturdy car!
I love everything about my Mazda cx-5. The performance is great and I never have any big issues besides what is normal maintenance. The AWD is a great feature, it gets me through the rough Cleveland snow without a problem. The comfort of inside it is good, I never have a problem being comfortable even on long road trips.

We absolutely love our Mazda cx-5, it is great for our family. The ride is smooth and comfortable. Plenty of cargo room in the back. The backseat has plenty of legroom. The only things I would change, would be larger cup holders in the front and to add air vents to the back.

I have really enjoyed my car over the years. It rides smooth, had a great Bose sound system, navigation, heated seats and all the trimmings. Very low maintenance and no major repairs which is great! It is great on gas mileage too. Over all I cannot say anything bad about this car. One of my best ones so far.

My vehicle has been amazing. It is super reliable and had no major issues over the past 6 years that I have owned it. I simply add gas and get to where I need to be. It has been our family's saving grace. The gas mileage is great and has required almost zero major repairs besides changing tires and oil. I know this car will last me for the next few years without any major issues.

It is peppy and very responsive with good turning radius - better feel for the road than the Honda CR-V. Blind spot monitoring is great. Grand touring trim has good technology options. The leather seats started wearing out after 5 years. After 3-4 years, the speakers sound like they are torn.

It is comfortable to drive & is a good looking vehicle. Gas mileage is good but it doesn't seat 5 comfortably.
I do like the car and may buy it again. The rear camera was replaced in the first year but it was under warranty. The steering wheel is small and the lever to open the gas tank needed to be replaced for $200. I never had that happen in a car before. But it is 6 yrs old now & the gas mileage is good & it is fun to drive.

Fun and sporty for a growing family.
Performance is wonderful! Only thing I don't like is that there is a lag in acceleration when making turns from a stop. Trying to pull out on a major highway from a stop sign is sometimes nerve racking. Very comfortable and spacious back seat for children and grown adults.

You will love to drive the Mazda CX-5 and be impressed with the whole package
The only things I have been unhappy with about this vehicle are a malfunctioning tire pressure sensor, the way cargo slides around in the rear cargo area and the limited capacity of internal storage on the factory navigation system. Otherwise I love the car and it is fuel efficient, quality made and fun to drive. I love the style of it and the interior is very pleasing.

Being able to lay back seats down for more moving space.
The vehicle has been an upgrade for me and drives really nicely. I appreciate all the added room I have for my pets and things that I carry around. The best feature, in my opinion, is the heated individual seats. The car has not very many miles on it but it has not given me any issues yet. I do make sure the oil is changed regularly and the car is properly driveable at all times.

It is extremely comfortable and reliable. My car gets amazing gas and does really well. I love that there is a sunroof and Bluetooth as well. The ac blows good and keeps me cool in the summer heat and the hot air keeps me warm in the cold Utah winters. It does great in the snow! Trashy Transmission
I would have recommended this vehicle in a heartbeat until today. I just got off the phone with Mazda Canada. I had my vehicle at the dealership on Friday questioning a recent discovery of a whining sound and I was told I need a new transmission. The vehicle has been on the road for 7.5 years and has 92,200 km on it. I specifically asked Mazda Canada about known issues with the transmission and I was told they could not confirm it and there was a matter of confidentiality. They did confirm that my issue sounded like a bearing problem within my transmission and there was a service bulletin about my issue and a Mazda service tech at my dealership would have been guided to advise me based on the bulletin, i.e. Replace the transmission. I have never ever had to replace a transmission in a vehicle and I have never ever faced such a repair bill, $6,400 +tax I am disappointed with Mazda beyond words. This is the first and last time I will own a Mazda product.

It's extremely comfortable and reliable. Features are easy to adjust and come in handy, for example there's an alert that plays when there's a car behind you in the lane you're about to switch into, which helps a lot. The AC and heat system is fast, and the mileage is great.

Honest review of the 2013 Mazda cx-5.
My car runs very good. It is a good first car to have! My car is very good on gas and my car is good on gas. The color of my car is red and it is a nice sleek design. The only problem is that my car's brakes wore down after a couple of years of owning and I had to replace all of them. Overall it is just normal wear and tear and I would recommend buying it. Nice leather seats, great stereo system.

Gas mileage on this car is almost unbeatable.
Performance wise it is a great car. Acceleration needs improvement, but everything else is top notch. Seating is comfortable, there is a lot of room leg and space. It has a great sound system and the gas mileage on this car is superb making this vehicle perfect for long distance driving.

Vehicle is just over 100,000 miles in 2020. Vehicle has had no major issues at this point. Very little upkeep. Only regular maintenance I.E. Oil changes, tires and brakes. Comfortable ride. Little to no blind spots. Large back capacity. Two factory recalls for minor issues. One complaint- little leg room for adults sitting in back seat.

The Mazda cx-5 is a reliable car but not too many perks or luxuries. I have owned the car for four years and never had any mechanical issues with it. Some of the interior coverings or panels have come loose though and if you want a car with a lot of pick-up, this probably is not a great choice.

Blue cx-5 touring with navigation and auto start (both added after purchase).
I took a chance in buying the first year of the cx-5 but I've had zero issues. The backup camera died in the first year but it was replaced easily and never gave me trouble again. Other than brakes and tires like normal replacement wear and that's all the maintenance I had to do.

It has great gas mileage but slow pick up. My Mazda CX-5 has great storage space and excellent features. I do not care for the fact that it does not have any type of racks on the top.

My Mazda is a wonderful car that is trustworthy and efficient.
It has great gas mileage and is easy to drive. I feel very comfortable and safe when I drive and I have never had any issues on the roads with my car. The car not only looks good and drives good but you will never have any problems. I would highly recommend a Mazda. It will be worth the price.

2013 Mazda CX-5 Touring gray
The 2013 model year CX-5 is a bit underpowered in my opinion. Whenever I need to accelerate quickly it takes a couple seconds for it to speed up. I really like the design of the car, although it's starting to show it's age compared to the newer models. It has plenty of interior space and usually enough cargo space. Overall it's a good car and I plan to stick with Mazda moving forward.

Reliable and good gas mileage with minimum problems.
It is very reliable, but currently have an issue with the radio shut off on the transmission selector, sometimes radio will not shut off and have to put in park and drive numerous times to get it to shut off. It gets very good gas mileage, but the accelerations is little slow on the highways.

Very reliable. Good on gas mileage. Sleek. Dependable. Easy to handle in bad weather. Safe. Roomy. Family vehicle. Features are wonderful. Love the sunroof and sound system. Easy to hook up mobile device. Hands free calling. I wish there was handsfree texting and heated seats.

It handles very well and is extremely reliable.
I love this car. It is very comfortable and cozy, it handles the road very well and is super easy to drive. I love the manual shifting option it gives on some models as it allows me to not use my brakes as often and handle the road a bit better when I am going around a lot of turns. The car has plenty of space. One thing I would change about the car is the power, I am not completely used to the four cylinder and could use a little more power at times.

This is a perfect first car, and very comfortable.
I have had this car for a while now and it is great. There is lots of space which is nice to fit all my friends, and it is very comfortable. I have been on very long trips and this vehicle has not failed me. It was my first car and I am very happy with it.

Great handling and fun to drive.
No problems. Fun and easy to drive. Great handling. Avg 31.7 mpg. Comfortable car, bigger inside than it would seem. Bluetooth and hands free features have worked without flaws. Acceleration is average from a dead start but no problems while at speed accelerating for merging at highway speeds.

2013 Mazda cx-5 touring has a 4 star safety rating.
I love the Mazda cx-5 touring! I enjoy road trips and this vehicle has a very quiet engine and is extremely comfortable to ride in. It is spacious and has great highway gas mileage. The bucket seats plus lumbar support makes driving long distances a breeze. But be careful because it is really easy to zoom!

Overall a great and reliable vehicle.
In general I really like the vehicle. It has had no major mechanical problems and I find it reliable. It gets fairly good gas mileage. It also has a decent amount of cargo space, especially with the seats down. I wish it was more up to date technology wise, though. Even for the year of the car, it is lacking what I would consider basic functions, such as Bluetooth and a backup camera.

Great.. Unless you have a tire pressure light on.
The annoying part is when you have low tire pressure. The light does not go off by itself when you fix the issue. You then must be parked, have your e-brake engaged while the car is not completely on. I really do not like all the extra steps. Other than that I love how it is a SUV but it feels like a car.

A few thoughts on 2013 Mazda cx-5.
Love the car. Wish it came with darker seats. Still looks new if I wash it. Very reliable. Gets an average of 28 mpg city/highway combined. Has more than adequate power for me, although I have heard some have complained about the horsepower. It wouldn't tow anything larger than a small u-haul.

Functionality of the Mazda cx-5.
The only problems I have been having is that the brakes squeak sometimes but that is only because they've been used for so long and need to be cleaned. The car handles very well and I can always trust it to see my blind spots when changing lanes. The keyless ignition is very convenient as well along with the auto-lock. I love the adjustability for the seating because of the different options like raising the seat up or down, moving the back of the seat forwards or back, moving the entire seat forward or back and lastly adjusting the lumbar support, all with the click of a button!

Mazda cx-5: great for individuals and families.
We love our Mazda cx-5! We haven't had any issues in the two years we've had it and it handles amazing in all kinds of weather (including snow). It is the perfect size for our family of 3. There's enough room (including the back) to not feel cramped, but still be able to move a decent amount of stuff. The center console has a lot of space and a USB charger built in (as well as an AUX port) which is wonderful, the hands-free Bluetooth capability is an added bonus. It has been great as a vehicle for me as an individual and our small family. The only drawback for us is the hill control feature is kind of annoying sometimes in our area, but the pros completely outweigh that con. It is perfect size, great features, incredibly reliable. . . We cannot say enough good things about our cx-5!

Safe sporty sleek style with good mpg.
Very comfortable it is good in the snow has good get up and go. It is zeal red and has good room in the rear for groceries and such. Has good traction handles well around curves. Has rear camera that is very helpful in backing up and parking. Can seat five comfortably. Has rear and side airbags power windows and locks.

I have had no major repairs on the car. It as ran great.
I am very unhappy about the way the paint on my car has not held up at all. For the first 5 years twice a year I ha the auto butler done on it. I also kept it waxed, but the clear coat is gone on just about the whole car. It is not the beautiful dark gray with the metallic gold flakes anymore it looks terrible. So until that happened I loved it.

When the seats lay down the storage room seems endless.
Being a bit of an older vehicle I am really surprised at how not old it feels. I spent some time driving a fully upgraded 2018 Mazda cx-5 and when I returned to this one it didn't seem like a drastic downgrade. The seats are kind of bucket like making it really comfortable. When the back seats seats are laid down there is tons of room. I have moved plenty of things many times in this car with no issue. I do not have any complaints. It is reliable. It gets decent gas mileage. It handles okay in the snow even with mine being FWD.
