Reliable and roomy vehicle.
This vehicle is comfortable and has space for 7 people. The back row is a bit small for older kids and adults but perfect for younger children. It drives like a sports car and had been very reliable.

I love my Mazda for many reasons!
My Mazda cx-9 drives great and is very comfortable. It has a third row seat and holds my entire family comfortably. And still has room in the back for anything we need to haul. I love the way it looks and drives. We have not had any mechanical issues. It is the first time I have ever owned a Mazda and I love it.

It is a seven-seater without being bulky.
I love the fact that it seats 7 and is roomy. The seat warmers are great in the winter! The only thing I can think of that I dislike is the fact that the windows in the very back do not roll down or crack.

Perfect vehicle for the family.
The 2009 Mazda cx-9 is a perfect family vehicle. It comfortably seats 7 people and also has the option to lay the middle and 3rd row seats down for Optimal space when needed. The vehicle handles well and has decent gas mileage for a vehicle of its size. Comfort and features include a sunroof, heated seats, navigation, and separate rear heating and cooling. This Mazda is also equipped with high quality Bose speakers.

09 Mazda cx-9 touring review.
Brakes seem to go fast, although I do a lot of driving. Love the stability of the SUV, along with the pick up speed. Great car, would definitely recommend. Great on storage, comfort ability, and good on gas. Would like to see more metal instead of plastic.

You will not be disappointed!
This vehicle is built so well! I live in Texas and good air conditioner is a must have. The backseat ac helps keep my children cool all summer long! The spacious trunk when 3rd row is folded down really helps when I need to fit furniture or other large items. The car is a comfortable height from the ground which is a bonus when you have back pain! It is quite easy to get in and out of without crouching or stepping up! The car is 10 years old and has not required any major repairs. I have kept up with the suggested maintenance schedule, and it has sure paid off. It is the perfect size so that we can fit two families in when needed! Plenty of room for everyone.

Great car! Heated seats and four wheel drive
This car is amazing in harsh weather conditions. It has 4wd so on super snowy days, it can cruise right through. It has heated seats in the 2 front seats. The interior is dark leather seats so on sunny days, cool off the car for a minute or two before sitting down.

I like the color of my car and the size. What I don't like about my car is that it waste a lot of gas on the long distances.
The size of the car and the seat amount is good for bigger family.

Terrible SUV
Got the car because it rides awesome. The big tires do very well, handles like a sporty car. Third row would not be big enuf for a adult, does well with kids. I have owned it for 35k miles and it has been in the shop 3 times for MAJOR repairs. Oil was leaking out of the drivetrain ($900 repair). It had a new water pump when I bought it, that broke again. When the water pumps go, antifreeze gets into your engine with these (same with Ford Edge). Engine wise, this is basically a Ford Edge. I had to replace my ENTIRE ENGINE for a faulty water pump ($3k). These are known for transfer case failures, the case is close to the muffler, which heats it up. That was $2k. Both of these issues are so well known, there are class actions since there was never a recall. The airbags all got fixed from a recall (metal fragments in airbag). The GPS is terrible, I never use it. Randomly for no reason the automatic wiper sensor turns on. The best part I like about the car is that the stereo system is awesome. I would not recommend this car to anyone.

Pretty good SUV. It's been satisfactory for the past nine years.
It's an SUV with three rows. We can seat seven passengers. It has a sunroof. It's an automatic transmission. It's pretty comfortable for long drives, and it drives pretty well. The navigation/map system needs a lot of improvement -- the maps are awful (no detail).

I want to install Bluetooth
Gets me from point a to point b. Milae was around 80,00. Brake job was done, tune ups. That's just about done

It has a really low mileage on it. It was only used to go from shopping and work from a short distance.
My car was actually in really good shape I payed a flat rate for it from a very nice man. The interior was in great condition. Not many miles on it and was cheep. I have no complaints about the vehicle.

It's a heavy car & is sturdy on the road. With this in mind it makes you feel safer.
The car is sturdy & has been very reliable however it is too wide which I don't like. Would rather see it trimmer.

Things to like about a Mazda
Very reliable vehicle, great gas mileage. The third row comes in handy when traveling with the family. Taking care of your vehicle will give it great performance, it can get up and go when u need it too. Comfortable on trips as well. Keyless entry would just be a plus.

The great things about the cx-9.
Has big blind spots that I haven't had in other cars. Bluetooth stopped working. Other then that the car is awesome. We have taken it on 2 vacations and it still runs really great. The seats are heated and they adjust to however you want to sit. The backup camera is awesome.

It is roomy for a smaller SUV type vehicle yet the mechanicals of it are faulty.
I have had several issues with this vehicles such as door locks not operating, windows malfunctioning, an axle breaking off while driving as well as the heat shield coming off.

Pros from Owners

likeFilled Annie C.

It has held up well with maintenance. It is very spacious and has lovely interface and nice features. Great for traveling and everyday travelling. I enjoy the ability to either use the third row seating or fold it down for more cargo storage and the middle seats lay down as well which means I can move furniture.

likeFilled Greg H.

Bose stereo system, heated seats, blind spot monitoring, all wheel drive, sunroof, seven passenger, leather seats, cruise control, easy to change oil, cup holders, USB port, charging ports, held up well to the salt on the roads in the winter, handles well on icy, snowy roads.

Cons from Owners

dislikeFilled Annie C.

I have had to already update several parts including the radiator and alternator, also had to replace a steering arm, all rotors, brake components and tires. Has required a lot of upkeep despite having a near perfect interior and exterior.

dislikeFilled Greg H.

I have had issues with the key fob and the lock mechanism seems to have a short in it. The big tires are quite expensive and they seem to only last a few years. Cup holder size does not really allow for oversize cups / drinks. Some of the features are hard to figure out how to program.
