Spacey car with rear view monitor.
Not to many problems that is why I love it so much. The most is a flat tire, if you keep up with the car it will treat you good. You can drive stick or automatic, remote control good radio. Video monitoring good for parking. A lot of trunk space back seat space.

It is the most reliable car I have ever owned and gets wonderful gas mileage.
It gets great gas mileage. It is comfortable for long trips. It has great trunk space.

It is small but it is a great car!
I have had this car for 5 years, I am there only owner. I drove this car across the country when I moved and have never had any major problems. Even just now it is finally needing new tires/breaks.

I love my Mazda 2! A good car.
Handles well. I like the personality. Reliable so far. I like the size. Has required little maintenance and I have been driving it for a while. Took it across the country and it performed great.

Great first car! It definitely has really good gas mileage.
This car is perfect if you have long drives for work. It is great on gas! It is the perfect combo of functional and sporty. One of my favorite things about it is the trunk. Just enough room to pack for a day trip! With the gas mileage it is perfect for a first car!

Inexpensive quality transport.
Basic transportation that looks great to me. Has enough zoom to get me around on errands. The purchase price was low enough that over the 10 years I plan to own this vehicle it will cost me less than $2000 per year including maintenance. Cheaper for me than a car sharing program and so convenient to have the keys at the ready whenever I need to go. Not a good choice if you have lots of highway driving since this vehicle does not have cruise control.

Mazda 2 is the best car out there.
I haven't had any problems with my car. My Mazda 2 is very comfortable and is always reliable to me. The performances of my Mazda 2 are great it feels like a sports car to me. It has everything that I need in a car and more. I love the way it drives.

Most comfortable seat ever...
If you are under 5'3", you will love this sporty little car. The seat height is just right and is super comfortable. This little car fits any size parking space, and the way it hugs the road it is a pleasure to drive. Only complaint is that the windows fog up in the interior a lot in winter.

Easy car to drive, not comfortable.
Performance wise, the Mazda 2 is a very good vehicle. Mine has been very reliable but with anything, the better you take care of it, the longer it lasts. The car being small with big windows made driving and parking much easier. The great thing about the back hatchback is, for me, loading totes for my job was easy with the back seats laying down with the back trunk opening wide. My main problem(is) this car has had for me is how small the space is. Very little room upfront and in back. No console or elbow rest. Very loud road noise when driving.

Small, simple, and cheap.
The best part is that everything about it is cheap. The price, the service, the parts. The worst part is that small things fall off here and there and the car is tiny itself. Only comfortable for 2 people. Also, because it's a 2013, the music technology is pretty obsolete. No Bluetooth. No fancy digital interface. Not many bells and whistles at all.

Mazda2 review of different details.
It is a very reliable car. The gas tank is to be expected for the size of the car, but it has fairly good gas mileage. The handling is pretty smooth, even at higher speeds on highways, and feels responsive when it needs to be. The car itself has proven to be very reliable and all of the parts have held up very well.

Silver, small, loud, not fuel efficient.
Bad on gas, loud engine, shakes on highway at speeds over 60. Too small so not enough leg room for passengers.
accountCircle Sara B
There is not much leg room for back row passengers.
The interior is very nice. There isn't much room in the cabin, but the hatchback has a good amount of storage. Definitely needed to be a bit bigger.

Mazda 2 is okay, not great. It gets me where I need to go.
I bought it used. The rear passenger side door does not open. The engine rumbles when I am idle but then I have only got one oil change in the past year so it is probably my fault. When I drop anything it always ends up in the most inconvenient place either behind me in the backseat or directly under my seat. It is just not a cool looking car. It is short and frumpy but it was all I could afford.

I like that the car is compact and is a four door vehicle.
I have a love hate relationship with my car. I love that it is smaller and that it can fit into almost any spot. I also like the interior. It looks pretty clean and uniform most of the time. I would say some of the things I don't like are that you can feel the mechanisms of the car. This was a review that I saw quite a lot before I bought the car but you can feel everything while you are driving. You can feel the bumps on the road. You can feel the breaking of the car. I guess this may be a personal thing but it can get very uncomfortable driving with these issues.

It is practical, reliable and low cost, but doesn't have a tremendous amount of power
I bought my car primarily because it was inexpensive, economical (good gas mileage) and a mazda, a brand i trust. I did not have high expectations of it being a high performance car. It has been very reliable so far. A very practical car, nothing exciting

My friends and myself enjoy riding in it no matter where we go!
Wonderful ride. Good gas mileage, it is very comfortable and easy to drive, it has 4 doors. Has a very roomy hatchback. I am a senior and have not taken a long trip. I bought it used almost 3 years ago. It is very comfortable for passengers. I enjoy driving it!

Good size for a short driver.
I love the size because it is easy to park and I can see easily over the back seat through the back window, even for someone of my height of 5'2'. The color is nice and vibrant. The car's dashboard has some issues but otherwise maintenance has been pretty easy and consistent.

Pros from Owners

likeFilled Kay L.

Good on gas but doesn't go fast. Its small but the trunk is a good size. It makes a high pitch noise if I hold the breaks down. It has a hard time going uphill sometimes and slips easy if the road is wet.

Cons from Owners

dislikeFilled Kay L.

It won't go up the hills easy. Makes a high pitch squealing noise if I hold the breaks down. Slides easy if the ground is wet and the wind blows it if its strong. It is kind of small in the inside and it needs tinted windows.

Is The 2013 Mazda Mazda2 A Good Car?

Basic transportation that has not given me any problems. The first vehicle I have ever purchased new that did not need to be returned for service to correct rattles, creaks, or squeaks.
Jim J.
It's okay. I really wish both doors had a keyhole so I don't have to walk all the way around to unlock the door.
marissa T.
Yes. It is very comfortable and amazing color. My Mazda vehicle offers quality seating and armrest for drinks. My daughters also love the car
Asa K.

How Reliable Is The 2013 Mazda Mazda2?

No issues and great gas mileage, close to 30 in city driving. Only routine maintenance thus far, tires, wiper blades, oil changes and new battery.
Jim J.
I haven't had any major problems yet but when I sit idle the car bounces and makes a rumbling noise. Also I keep getting flat tires and not sure why.
Honey L.
It is very convenient and reliable. A few times there were engine problems and the vehicle would not start

Is The 2013 Mazda Mazda2 A Good Value?

Only paid about $14,000 when new. Great deal since I can drive this 10 years which will only be $1,400 per year in vehicle acquisition cost. Of course maintenance and insurance is extra but have to... Read More

I got mine used for $9,000. It gets me where I need to go. I will know how good it really is when I get it checked out for the idle bouncing thing.
Nikki T.
3,000 when I first brought the vehicle it was a pretty good value. Less than what I expected from what it is worth now
