You'll Like The 2011 Mazda Mazda6 If...

If you've been impressed by Mazda's previous lineup - including its volume leader, the Mazda3 - the Mazda6 is an excellent way for a growing family to move up. While not the sport-oriented platform enjoyed by its predecessor, the newest Mazda6 retains fun-to-drive elements, while offering far more interior volume for passengers and cargo. And with a base price of under $21,000, it's perfectly positioned for a consumer's cautious return to the market.

Mazda 6 is stylish and practical!

Very reliable and comfortable car to drive. Keeping up with routine maintenance there seems very little that needs to be done. The negative is that there is a hesitation on acceleration. With 58k miles is still very tight and quiet. Gas mileage is ok with 26 in the city and 33 on the highway. Plenty of room but not much interior storage. Overall it has been a great car.

Good performance, minimal mechanical, normal wear & tear. New technology, Bluetooth, satellite radio, gas mileage is good, runs on regular gas, paint holding up, air conditioning, climate control, aluminum alloy wheels,5 CD changer, power brakes, drivers seat, locks, mirrors, steering, windows, rear defogger, tilt wheel, overall good.

Sometimes the car alarm will randomly go off when the car is left locked for a long period of time. Additionally, there are sometimes minor problems with the car starting, but it is nothing huge and my local dealer has been very helpful. Other than that, there are no serious or minor problems involved with this car.

Air Bags Jun 29, 2017
Report Receipt Date:
Jun 29, 2017
NHTSA Campaign:
17V429000
Summary:
Mazda North America Operations (Mazda) is recalling certain 2009-2011 Mazda6, and 2007-2011 CX-7 and CX-9 vehicles. These vehicles are equipped with certain air bag inflators assembled as part of the passenger frontal air bag modules, and used as original equipment or replacement equipment. In the event of a crash necessitating deployment of the front air bags, these inflators may rupture due to propellant degradation occurring after long-term exposure to absolute humidity and temperature cycling.
Consequence:
An inflator rupture may result in metal fragments striking the vehicle occupants resulting in serious injury or death.
Remedy:
Mazda will notify owners, and dealers will replace the passenger frontal air bag inflator with an alternate inflator, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin July 24, 2017. Owners may contact Mazda customer service at 1-800-222-5500. Mazda's number for this recall is 1317F. Note: This recall supersedes recall 16V356 and all vehicles that were not remedied under that campaign are now covered by this one.

Recall Mar 11, 2014
Report Receipt Date:
Mar 11, 2014
NHTSA Campaign:
14V114000
Summary:
Mazda North America Operations (Mazda) is recalling certain model year 2010-2012 Mazda6 vehicles manufactured September 14, 2009, through May 2, 2011, and equipped with 2.5L engine. In the affected vehicles, spiders may weave a web in the evaporative canister vent hose, blocking it and causing the fuel tank to have an excessive amount of negative pressure.
Consequence:
Negative pressure could cause the fuel tank to crack resulting in a fuel leak, increasing the risk of a fire.
Remedy:
Mazda will notify owners, and dealers will reprogram the powertrain control module and inspect and clean the canister vent line. If a web was found in the line, the fuel tank and check valve on canister vent line will be replaced. These repairs will be done free of charge. The recall is expected to begin in April 2014. Owners may contact Mazda at 1-800-222-5500. Mazda's recall number associated with this campaign is 7214C.
