Great pick up from a standing start.
I have had absolutely no problems, it is very reliable. Comfort is not as good as some other cars that I have had, but it is fine. Pickup is outstanding from a standing stop. I have a five mile commute so the limit on energy capacity is not a problem. I had to upgrade the electrical system in my house in order to accommodate the charger.

Nissan LEAF isn't so bad.
The car is great just wished there was more range so the car wouldn't have to charge as often and there would be less stop. That is the only inconvenience. The car has Air conditioner, leather seats and navigation. The car is easy to navigate and does not appear to present any problems.

Electric cars are ready for the mainstream; there are not the sacrifices that others believe need to be made.
I love my Nissan Leaf! There are significant savings on fuel and most of the time, the vehicle has sufficient range to do anything that we desire. Eventually, I'd like a vehicle with longer range so that I can have nothing but an electric car as my only vehicle.

Awesome car that saves you money on gas.
The Nissan Leaf is a great car. It is small but very roomy inside. I love that I don't need to spend money on gas. I just plug it in when the battery is running low. It's a great car to drive around town in. The only drawback that I can think of is that it has a 100 mile limit before you have to recharge. This makes long trips inconvenient because you have to map out and plan on stopping at charging stations. However, the pros outweigh the cons.

Never pay for gas again and have plenty of room!
I love that the car is electric and can be charged at my home! We plug it up every single night, and by morning it is at 100%. We never pay for gas and we love that it is 4 doors. We have a young child. Getting him in and out of the car is a breeze.

Nissan leaf a gal’s dream vehicle.
I love my Nissan leaf! No need for oil changes or to buy gas. I simply plug it in at night and it is ready to go in the morning. The vehicle is quiet, comfortable and eco friendly. I only spend about $10 a month to charge it. I only wish that here in Florida that there were more charging stations.

It is easy to drive and park. Plenty of room for 4 people.
I really enjoy driving my leaf, especially driving past a gas station when the price is high. I have not noticed any increase in my electric bill which makes me happier. It is so quiet, you only hear road noises, no engine growl. I have not had any problems other than replacing the 12 volt battery.

Brake Failure with 12 volt battery failure
I loved my Leaf until recently. My 12 volt battery must have been in the process of failing, which resulted in my charging timer failing first, then I lost brakes when in reverse. The car does not have a warning system to warn of lost 12 volt charge, which apparently controls many functions. I no longer trust this car.

Electric car for running errands.
This vehicle is nice drives very smooth. It has a clean look on the inside and outside. This car when bought with the basic charge will take a long time to charge and for a fast charger you are looking at another $500-$1000 which is worth it because of how fast the miles go down. This car is not very spacious and is very much a car for errands in close proximity.

If you drive less than 50 miles per day, you can full charge overnight on a normal house circuit.
It is very reliable. One of the things I love the most is that there is almost zero maintenance. I've had it for 3 years. In that time I've replaced wiper blades and I am now due for a brake job.

Leaf is maintenance-free smooth ride.
Love having no maintenance and not buying gas. The only thing is sometimes I have to wait for the car to charge and various locations have different speeds and can cause some delays. If you plan a little in advance, most potential problems can be solved.

Great vehicle but less than appealing range.
The only negative with this vehicle is the range. When it was brand new it was capable of 84 miles. Now that it is 5 years old it is capable of around 78. Perfect for a get around the city car but not capable of any road trips. Hopefully with time there will be battery upgrade options but as of now there is no alternative.

Pros from Owners

likeFilled Sarah J.

It is electric so I do not have to buy gas. Also it is a very smooth ride. The camera shows behind you while you are in reverse and also it beeps to let the people around you know that you are backing up. The breaks are very good in this car.

Cons from Owners

dislikeFilled Sarah J.

Since it is electric and a smaller battery you cannot travel long distances. Charging stations are a lot harder to find than gas stations. If something malfunctions then it will cost a lot more to get fixed. Also the batteries for this car is a lot more expensive than a non electric vehicle.
