Alex Showalter

The 2019 Nissan Murano: Style and Satisfaction
I love our 2019 Nissan Murano SUV! I like its stylish look (many other cars have copied its sleek design) and I feel proud to drive it. I especially like the chrome side accents, the dark metallic wheels, and the LED lights on the front nose. The car is very up-to-date technologically. It includes sonar on all sides to aid in parking and backing up. And it also has a backup camera and lights to warn you when another car is beside you. The interior of the Murano is very elegant and comfortable. Black tucked leather seats and wood trim accent the cabin. Zero gravity seats ride like an easy chair and make any trip a treat. All in all I am very pleased with our Murano purchase! Actually, this is our second purchase of this model. We bought a similar 2015 SUV and we liked it so much that we updated to the 2019.

My best car I have ever owned yet!
I love my new murano, it's a comfortable ride, very roomy for groceries and traveling. Very sporty looking car, I have had many compliments. It's loaded with all the added safety features. Heated seats and heated steering wheel is nice, even the back seats are heated, as many of my friends and family have stated they haven't experienced heated rear seats!

My vehicle is basically a luxury large sized SUV.
I hadn't had a single problem with this vehicle nor have I ever with any Nissan I have ever owned. Nissan's are built top quality and they are also cheaper to fix. I would recommend Nissan to all of my family and friends. I have nothing bad to say about Nissan.

Love my Nissan murano sv!
I really enjoy my Nissan murano - I love how high up it sits, the technology package and touch screen. I love the size of it and the way it looks from the outside as well. It drives super smooth and is really fun to drive as well. I find that it looks very sleek and I also got leather seats put in it which makes it very nice.

It is a perfect mom car for the modern day mom.
It is perfect to drive in the snow! Plenty of space for my growing family and it is perfect for grocery shopping day. I have no issues either when going up canyons for our monthly nature walks. I knew this was the perfect car for me when we made our first family road trip, kids had space to rest comfortably during the wait and plenty of trunk room for all of our luggage and necessities.

Amazing on gas, extremely roomy and perfect for a sports mom!
It is great on gas and very roomy. My kids enjoy the space and all of their sports equipment fits just fine. It fits 5 comfortably with enough trunk space. I can go almost 2 weeks without refueling. It is amazing. I have not experienced any problems. The volume being on the steering wheel is perfect!

If you are looking for luxury look no further!
I have had my vehicle for over a year now. No complaints. No issues with anything. It is extremely reliable and the features are spectacular. I looked into BMW, Mercedes, Audi, Acura and Volvo and found that the Nissan murano had more features for the same price as an entry level on any of those other luxury cars. Well worth the money. Surprisingly it is not bad on gas as well for a crossover. All in all it is my favorite car that I have ever owned.

Hate this car!
We were told by the dealer it was the same car as the 2017, just two years newer. Well it is a completely dumbed down SUV. Biggest piv is it will not let me backup with a trailer on. It THINKS it is going to run into the trailer so it puts on the brakes. Manual and online (like this article) NO help.

Major issues before 1st service
Purchased in late 2019 new. When I took the car in for service they had to replace the entire front left damper assembly because the insulator was not installed. I work in vehicle testing and can tell you that will cause either body damage or damage the damper. They refused to tell me why they replaced it rather than just installing a $20 insulator. After leaving I kept hearing a sliding sound almost like a marble under the vehicle. Turns out the final drive was “bad”. I asked to see the part and they said it was already scrapped and sent away.End of the story, by my 1st service the vehicle needed major work on both the drivetrain and the suspension/chassis. And with only 60k mile warranty I do not have confidence in this vehicle. Do not let tech features and a moonroof drive your decision to buy an suv. I will be tradings this suv in for something my family can trust.

Great mileage and sleek design.
Nissan murano is an amazing car. It build is sleek and the 2019 black model looks very sharp and the mileage the car has is good. There are a few issues with the car such as the outdated console system not supporting Wi-Fi apple play. Even though it is a great car, for the cost it is a little too expensive.

What Do Critics Say About the Nissan Murano?

  • Consumer Reports says the 2019 Nissan Murano is very easy to live with since it has generous interior accommodations, with good owner satisfaction scores.
  • Edmunds rates the 2019 Murano at 4.3/5 enjoying the high-quality interior materials for the money, but doesn’t like the low towing capacity.
  • Kelley Blue Book users give the Murano a 4.6/5, praising the comfortable cabin for a midsize SUV, but owners don’t like the poor off-road performance.

What Common Problems Does the 2019 Nissan Murano Have?

Common problems reported on the 2019 Nissan Murano include a broken sunroof, a moldy smell from the A/C system, along with issues with the automatic braking system. Overall, these problems are similar to other SUVs on the market, leading to average repair costs as the Murano ages.

A broken sunroof is the most widespread complaint from 2019 Murano owners, showing up within the first 25,000 miles. There are some production runs of glass which are not as strong as others, leading to them being more susceptible to breaking. Stones hitting the glass at speed can cause it to shatter. Replacing the sunroof costs around $650.

A moldy smell coming from the A/C system has also been reported by some 2019 Murano owners at roughly 5,000 miles. A clogged drain line is the most common source of the problem. Clearing out the drain line and sanitizing it costs around $75, depending on local labor rates.

Issues with the automatic braking system show up on some 2019 Murano models at around 15,000 miles. Usually, the problem is caused by an issue with the front sensor, which controls the automatic braking system. Replacing the sensor costs around $750, although in some cases simply resetting the system fixes the issue and can be done for around $50.

There’s only one recall on the 2019 Murano, which is better than a lot of other SUVs from the same year. The recall covers the rearview camera images which may not display. Nissan will update the software on affected models for free.

How Long Will the 2019 Nissan Murano Last?

A well-maintained 2019 Murano can last around 200,000 miles, which is shorter than some competitors like the Toyota Highlander. Regular annual maintenance costs are similar to many other midsize SUVs, according to data provided by Repair Pal, at $477 per year.

As a used 2019 Murano reaches 100,000 miles, and depending on the vehicle history, owners should be prepared to replace the A/C drier assembly for $280, brake calipers costing $400, along with the intake manifold gasket which costs around $600.

The blue book fair purchase price ranges from $19,425 to $31,998, making it less than a Honda Pilot or Subaru Ascent. When new, the price range was $31,370 to $45,230. What Engines Come In the Nissan Murano?

The 3.5-liter V6 engine powers the 2019 Murano, producing a robust 260 horsepower and 240 lb.-ft of torque at up to 24 MPG. This engine is mated to a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). With this powertrain, the Murano can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in roughly 7.5 seconds, and it boasts a towing capacity of up to 1,500 pounds when properly equipped.

What Colors Does the Nissan Murano Come In?

How Comfortable Is the Nissan Murano?

The 2019 Nissan Murano is known for its comfort, standing out as one of its most appealing attributes within the midsize SUV segment. Inside, passengers are treated to a well-appointed cabin characterized by soft-touch materials, thoughtful design elements, and plush seating. The front seats, in particular, have drawn praise for their “Zero Gravity” design, which Nissan claims is inspired by space-age technology to provide optimal support and reduce fatigue on long drives. Ample legroom and headroom in both the front and rear seats guarantee that passengers of all sizes can ride in comfort.

Additionally, the Murano’s smooth ride quality further enhances the in-cabin experience. The suspension absorbs most road imperfections with ease, guaranteeing that jolts and bumps are kept to a minimum. Furthermore, noise insulation is effective, creating a serene environment that shields occupants from the hustle and bustle of the outside world. The 2019 Murano is a delightful sanctuary for both drivers and passengers, making it an ideal choice for those who prioritize comfort on the road.

How Much Storage Space Does the Nissan Murano Have?

The 2019 Nissan Murano offers ample storage space that caters to the needs of most midsize SUV shoppers. Its cargo capacity stands out, especially when considering both its standard and expanded spaces. Behind the rear seats, the Murano provides 32.1 cubic feet of room, which is more than enough to accommodate items such as a week’s worth of groceries, a couple of large suitcases, or a stroller.

For those times when more space is needed, folding down the rear seats expands the cargo area to an impressive 67.0 cubic feet. This expanded space can easily handle larger items like bicycles, a set of golf clubs, or a sizable haul from a furniture or home improvement store. Apart from the main cargo area, the Murano also boasts several small interior storage spaces. There are cup holders, door pockets, and a reasonably sized center console bin to store smaller items, guaranteeing that everything has its place and the cabin remains uncluttered.

What Are the Differences Between Years?

The third generation of the Nissan Murano came out for the 2015 model year.

2015: Fully redesigned for the third generation with new engines, technology features, and styling.

2016: USB port added as standard equipment on all models, Premium package has a stronger Bose stereo.

2017: Apple CarPlay added to the stereo system, driver drowsiness monitoring now standard on all models.

2018: Forward collision warning and automatic emergency braking are standard on all models.

2019: Updated front-end styling with new LED headlights, improved diamond-quilted leather added to the Platinum model.

2020: More standard safety technology offered on the SV and higher models.

2021: Standard Safety Shield 360 package on all models, new optional Special Edition package offered.

How Does the Nissan Murano Compare to the Competition?

The 2019 Nissan Murano is a nice midsize SUV, offering a nice mix of the latest technology and a practical interior built to fit a family, making it a good choice for shoppers.

The Nissan Rogue is a smaller SUV offered by Nissan, which is about $1,500 less. The Nissan Rogue has more responsive steering, while the Nissan Murano offers better passenger room. We recommend the Nissan Murano since the extra room is worth the increase in price, although both are very similar.

The Ford Edge is another midsize SUV which is around $2,000 cheaper. Performance is a bit better in the Ford Edge, while the Nissan Murano has a more comfortable interior. We recommend the Nissan Murano since there are fewer complaints from owners as they age.

Comfort and mpg and style
This is our second Murano. We had a 2012 and upped to a 2019. Make an annual trip to Fl from Illinois. Great mileage sometimes over 30mpg. And we run with the traffic. Inside is very nice, leather seats, heated F&R. Quiet ride. Have friends with Subarus and they ride like a truck compared tothe Murano. But they are considerably less cost. You get what you pay for. The only issue is the side traffic warning lights mounted in the corner door post. There needs to be better placement and or a signal that there is a car there. The light doesn't always catch my eye because it's in line with the frame of my sunglasses. The out side mirrors also do not have the concave mirror in the corner so you can see the side lane better. Overall I give it a 99.

Once I let my sets down to extend my trunk the metal bars now stick out and they shouldn't. The carpet is also coming up on the driver side. The trunk latch sometimes will not open. General review of what I like about it and the few issues I've had with it.
I like the fact that it has cruise control, the handling is nice, there was a problem with the windshield but I figured out that was from damages. The turning is smooth and the acceleration is also silky. The color is nice, the seats are comfortable and there are enough cup holders. I personally rather enjoy the heated seats as they are in both the front and the back for my passengers. It is rather large so it is rather tight fitting in my garage but that is more of a fault in garage size than the car. The white color of it is nice and the front headlights work efficiently. I usually let other household members use my car so this survey would be more suited to them but I do know that there is a problem that I got fixed that was the rear object signal went off at random point on the highway and wouldn't stop making weird noises. It is harder to park than other cars but that is literally just because of the size of it, because it's a hybrid between a minivan and SUV or whatever. There's a nice little cubby on the right of the driver's seat that you can put anything in, but I usually just use it to hold coins for gas station purchases when I don't have cash or for toll stations for crossing between state borders. The built in GPS system is also rather nice as I can just plug in 'go home' and let it do its thing and drive home.

Coming from the Nissan maxima the transition was easy. I love the roomy hatchback. The murano overall is a comfortable ride. There are no blind spots. The only thing that I think could be better is the rear motion camera, it is a little too sensitive. I really love the CarPlay my phones contacts and music are loaded just by plugging in, hands free texting and phones calls through siri are great too. Not the best on gas either. Overall I honestly love it.

Best vehicle and I will never own anything else.
This vehicle is comfortable, and good on gas. This is my third murano and they keep getting better. I would not drive anything else. Have no problems in the winter going through the snow. I have moved with it and taken on vacation and there was plenty of space for people and luggage.

My Nissan murano was my best purchase last summer!
It has great comfortable seating. The dashboard is very functional and classy. The ride is smooth. Great gas mileage. Air conditioning is adjustable for drivers and passengers. It has. Apple carplay. You have great vision from all aspects. Easy to see other drivers. The alert system for drivers nearby is the greatest feature. It alerts you when someone is on the right or left. It has a brake alert system that is amazing. The glove box is large. It has rear view camera!

2019 Nissan murano platinum.
I love my murano, however, it has had to be in the shop 3 times since purchasing it in November. The sunroof drain had an issue and it was flooding my passenger floorboard. Two visits to fix that. My front sensor continues to say it has an obstruction and will go off for no reason. They have replaced the sensor twice and still having the same issue. Very frustrating that they can't find/fix this issue. It seems to be a frequent problem with Nissan.

Latest technology and great interior on car.
We love our Nissan murano 2019. This is our second lease with Nissan and we are so happy. The car has the latest technology, family friendly and we feel like it is a reliable car. Nissan always has sales on the cars to get you the best deal. Thank you Nissan!

The engine size makes it easy to pass another car.
This is the second Nissan murano we've owned. We really enjoy driving the SUV. It is easy to drive and has a short learning curve. The window setup makes it easy to see to the sides and rear plus it has rear camera. I have owned several cars and this one is our favorite. And yes when it comes time to buy another car it will be the Nissan murano.

Classy great SUV! Highly recommend!
Love the looks and the smooth ride! Very roomy inside. Backup camera is very good and accurate. The larger screen is great. Back seats flip down very easily if you have bigger things to transport. Front and back air conditioning vents work great! All around I highly recommend!

Sporty on the outside comfy and quiet on the inside.
The Nissan murano has been a joy to drive. Quiet and comfortable on the inside, sleek and sporty outside. It is fuel efficient and has enough power to move through traffic when needed. Excellent for short commutes or long road trips it is comfortable in the city or in the mountains.

I love the color which is black. And interior is grey.
My vehicle is a lease that I have for two years now. I have not had any problems. I am very impressed with the condition the car is still in. I have never had any issues or complaints about the car. It is not the best on gas but that is because it is a six cylinder.

Nice technological upgrades.
It is nice but I liked the 2017 one better. The interior beige was ugly so I got the black and it gets very hot in the summer. The technology upgrades are nice - heated steering wheel, car play, an easier access button to open the trunk. There’s also a speed limit sensor to snapshot speed limit signs as you pass them and the dashboard displays the speed limit which is very helpful.

Dependable, roomy, long lasting Muranos.
We have owned the murano’s. They have all been extremely reliable. The first one we have was sold with 200,000 miles and still in great condition! We have never had an issues with any mechanical issues. I really like how roomy the inside of the vehicle is. I also love how big the back storage area is.

Nissan murano. Front screen.
I have no problems with the performance reliability and comfort with my car. The only feature that is not well working is the screen where it tells your speed. The compass feature does not work properly. The screen randomly beeps at me. The apple carplay works amazing. The front bumper sensor randomly beeps.

My vehicle is spacious and has a smooth ride.
I haven't had any issues with my vehicle. It has a smooth drive and it is fuel efficient. The vehicle is very spacious. I would recommended this vehicle to any interested in purchasing a new vehicle. The only downside is the windows are wide and large which can deter your ability to see other vehicles if you are trying to move to a different lane..

Extra legroom in the backseat!!
One of the best SUVs I have owned! This is my third Nissan and I am always impressed with the reliability, gas mileage and performance. Will not be my last! I absolutely love the design and cannot say enough for the extra room in the back seat. Great value and a great vehicle.

My Nissan murano was a great purchase!
I love my murano. I got a great deal on it! It is comfortable, reliable, has a great sporty look and gets great gas mileage. You can lay down the entire back seat and it gives you a lot of space if you need to haul something. It has a powerful v6 too!

My favorite car I've ever owned.
Honestly can't say enough good things about it. Id describe it as a luxury vehicle when you want the luxury without the heavy price tag. Tons power, super comfortable. Truly love it. My only little complaint is the interior has bunch of lines which makes cleaning it little more of a task but aside from that its perfect in my thoughts. Don't hesitate on a murano.

There are multiple cameras to help with safety.
The car drives well. No issues or concerns. The car is comfortable and has nice features. There is a sunroof and the blind spot monitors. Multiple cameras to help with safety. The cameras are useful. So far the car seems to be reliable. Overall, no issues or concerns with the car. I love it.
