Small, straightforward, and convenient.

2009 Nissan Versa

Features: nothing too fancy. It has a CD player and straightforward buttons on working the radio and temperature in the car. I personally appreciate the wide view from the back of the car when I am driving. For a small car, it feels safer and easier to scan the road with the larger windows. And it does not have tinted windows, which is a big plus for me! Comfort: it is a very comfortable car to drive. The interior is mostly a suede/cloth like seating. So, it is nice in that way, that it does not get too hot or cold with the weather. . Performance: it is not the fastest or quietest accelerator. It definitely requires a little more pedal pressure than some other cars I have driven, but not too bad. On the road, it can feel the bumps somewhat easily. It is a light weight car with smaller tires, so it is to be expected. Problems: the only problem I really have with this car is opening the trunk! There is no way to open the trunk without the car key button, which is such a hassle. . Reliability: overall, the car is great and has not given me any unusual car problems. So, far it has just needed the routine oil change, tire change, and brake pad replacement. I haven't experienced any complicated, or expensive fixes so far, and I am so grateful for that!

A few annoying issues, but pretty dependable.

2009 Nissan Versa

The car runs pretty well, though there have been problems with the brakes wearing quickly and unevenly. Also had to have the catalytic converter replaced. Mechanics, dealers included, do not seem to be able to diagnose the problem. Had a sensor replaced, which helped not at all with the symptoms (sudden and unpredictable loss of power) but, upon smelling sulfur on starting, my brother and I diagnosed it as the converter and it has given me no more problems in that area. Gas mileage is wildly variable ( and it is a 6 speed manual) for no reason I can find. But it starts and runs pretty well now, handles well and is pretty dependable.

Reliable car, aside from electrical issues.

2009 Nissan Versa 1.6 Base

This is a fairly spacious and comfortable car. It has not had any major issues in the 7 years that I have owned it. Although it is reliable to get around, it has had some electrical issues. The trunk and back right door no longer unlock electrically. The trunk cannot open with a key or latch, so this is especially inconvenient. I have had a family member and friend who both had a similar electrical issue. Other than that, I have enjoyed this car. It gets good gas mileage for its size, particularly on the freeway. It does not have all the fancy bells and whistles, but it gets the job done and has been a good car.
