Lots of bells and whistles.
This truck has such comfortable seats, I love the hard drive and have about 450 songs downloaded to it. It is leather and loaded and I love it. I have nice wheels and large mud tires on it so it looks great. I have never had an issue with it. Only downside is the gas mileage with the large tires.

It outperforms any vehicle in its class. And it is one of the greatest looking vehicles in its class.
I like the body style of my vehicle. I like the power of the engine in my vehicle. And I like how my vehicle performs on the road. I don't like the fact that I seem to have to replace the exhaust manifold gaskets every 75000 miles.

Lots of power, tones of room and overall just a great truck.
My 2011 ram is a great truck. It has the 4.6l which is the small v8. Even though it is the smaller v8 it has lots of power. I use it everyday on my farm. I have never had anything really go wrong on it for the last 3 years I have own it. In the last 3 year live put 40,000 miles on it. And it still runs like new.

We love this truck, its strong and spacious.
We love this truck. Its spacious, and strong. We love to haul our quads in the back and we do a lot of traveling. Our kids are comfortable in the back with plenty of legroom. It gets good miles per gallon.

2011 ram 1500 crew cab, big horn.
It is a very smooth riding vehicle, especially for a truck. I have had zero problems with it other than a small air conditioning issue that was easily fixed. Gets 18 miles per gallon on the highway. The 5.7 engine has all the power that you'll need for a half ton truck. Interior lacks some things that you will find on other makers, but is very adequate. All around a very reliable truck.
accountCircle Brian V
Depends on what people are looking for. Only has the 3.7L V6 in it which is fine for loads in the bed or lighter trailers. Anyone towing more than that would need one of the V8s.
It's a 2010 technically, wasn't in the dropdown menu. No complaints, haven't had to do anything other than the normal maintenance considering it's at 125k miles.

It has saddle seat leather. It has built in toolboxes. It has a touch screen radio. It does not have a good transmission.

Problems that dodge will not own up to
1) has TIPM problems - expensive repair ($1,400), truck would not start (engine would not even turnover and I had just installed a new battery two days earlier thinking that was the problem) claimed the fuel pump quit - but checked out ok after they changed it out & they then installed a jumper wire) 2) windows go down on their own (they blame the FOB), 3) the AM/FM radio stops working. Go on line and check out all the TIPM COMPAINTSdodge will not own up to.

Nice truck but unreliable
Purchased this truck used with a 5.7 hemi and was initially very happy with it. Lots of room and lots of power. The truck had about 180k km and ran well. After a while I noticed a ticking noise as I drove down the street. Initially the dealership said it may be a broken exhaust manifold. I changed both and found not broken bolts. Finally I took it in to the dealer again and they said its a failed lifter. They said it's common with this type of km and tried to get me to trade it in for very little. I took it to another shop for a second opinion and they said the same thing and will cost several thousands (6 to 8) to repair with no guarantees. Research online showed this was a very common issue with hemis and the dealership is not supportive. I'm currently having the motor replaced with a used one in an attempt to salvage my wasted money on this truck. Not even 200k km and the motor is done. Very disappointing.

Took great care and still failed
Great truck at first .At 106,000 Miles I had exhaust manifold and ball joint issues .Had to replace upper and lower control arms on both sides and had my exhaust issues fixed .Then after a couple of hundred miles I got a bad noise in the motor on the left side. I had to replace the motor.I always kept up on all the maintenance.I thought the 5.7 Hemi was going to last a lot longer.

Front end issues be careful what you buy.
Front end has been terrible always replacing front end parts. Runs fine drives fine but maintenance costs are high, and I have been very easy on my truck. Not what you would expect out of a four wheel drive. Seems to be falling apart much fast then any of the gm vehicles I have ever owned.

Ram 1500 2011 Review Positives & Negatives
Still runs ok. Burns gas on an average. Power windows issue. Turn signal light replaced. Engine failure

What Problems Does the 2011 Ram 1500 Have?

The 2011 Ram 1500 is one of the worst years, with more problems than all of the newer models. The most commonly reported problems are with the totally integrated power module (TIPM). This system controls all of the electrical functions in the truck, and when it fails it has to be replaced. Owners also mention problems with the lifters and cams in the engines, requiring expensive repairs to get it working again. There are also problems with the fuel system in the truck where the pump will run with the vehicle off, increasing the risk of a fire.

There are 4 recalls affecting the 2011 Ram 1500 series, fewer than average for a truck its age. Recalls include the rear axle, transmission, and fuel tank strap brackets. The most serious is the fuel tank strap brackets failing since it can lead to the fuel tank falling out of the truck.

How Long Will the 2011 Ram 1500 Last?

With proper care, a 2011 Ram 1500 series should be able to last 250,000 miles, which is average for a full size truck. The TIPM and other mechanical problems can cost thousands of dollars to fix, and fail around 100,000 miles. Repair Pal estimates it will cost $750 per year to maintain a Ram 1500, more expensive than its competitors.

accountCircle William V

It is extremely reliable. Over 8 years I have only had to get minor work done that is to be expected throughout the wear and tear of the vehicle's life.

accountCircle Brooke B

It is reliable but does have some issues due to fuse box issues and computer board going out on me which made my truck stay in 4 gear and made it not start right away. But other than that it is a reliable truck. Gets me and my kids tk everywhere we need to be.

accountCircle Melissa H

No my Dodge Ram has no mechanical or electrical problems. There was only one recall on my vehicle and that was for a gas tank strap. No recalls for drive train items

The 2011 Ram 1500’s three engine options range from underpowered 3.7-liter V6 to capable 4.7 V8. The 2011 Ram 1500 series has a towing capacity of 10,450 pounds. This puts it in 2nd place among half ton trucks, just behind the class-leading Ford F-150.

  • The base engine is a 3.7L V6 with 215 horsepower and 235 lb.-ft. of torque.
  • In the middle of the lineup is a 4.7L V8 making 310 horsepower and 330 lb.-ft. of torque.
  • At the top of the range is the 5.7L Hemi V8 producing 390 horsepower and 407 lb.-ft. of torque.

What Colors Options are Available?

How Big is the Ram 1500?

There are three cabin choices available, including a 2-door regular cab, a 2.5-door crew cab, and a 4-door quad cab. Passenger space is good in the quad cab, but adults have a hard time fitting in the back seats of the crew cab. The RamBox storage system helps it stand apart from its competitors, with a lockable storage compartment built into the side of the bed. There are three bed sizes available as well, with 5 foot 7 inch, 6 foot 4 inch, and 8 foot lengths.

How Does the 2011 Ram 1500 Compare to Other Trucks?

Based on owner reviews, the 2011 Ram 1500 series ranks 8th out of 15 full size trucks. Leading the half ton lineup is the Toyota Tundra. It has much better reliability ratings and build quality compared to the Ram. Where the Ram wins out is with better technology, a more spacious interior, and a higher towing capacity. Between the two trucks, the Toyota is the better long-term choice, even if it’s not as capable at hauling.

Another competitor is the Ford F-150. It’s more reliable, and has fewer mechanical problems. Where the Ram excels here is with a better interior since the Ford feels very dated inside. Towing capacity is close between the two trucks, but the Ford can tow slightly more. Overall, the Ford is a better truck since it will be less of a headache to own.

Owning this 2011 Ram 1500 SLT 4X4 W/HEMI
I own a 2011 Ram 1500 SLT 4X4 W/ HEMI bought the truck w/29000 miles on it. The first problem was the back end would rock from side to side, so bad sometimes it would cause the traction control lightto come on. To make a long dragged out story about this truck shorter. These are things that happened or Ihad to replace or repair. Between the milage of 29000 and 165000 miles. Upper and lower traction bars, pinon nut replaced in rear end, both cams, lifters, right side head,(basically a top end overhaul), manifold bolts, ac compressor, condensor coil, fuel pump 2x, fuel pump relay on the broad, grounding straps, sensor connectors, both headlight assy. Vibration breaking the bolt tabs and the head light assy fall out. The only other thing I have with this truck is the cost of parts and cost of repair for this year model of Ram. Same part different year model parts are 1 1/2 to 2 x cheaper than for the2011.T.he one thing I can say about this truck is with everything that has gone wrong with it, it has never left my family stranded. Truth be known this truck hates me and would dump the seat out on the highway with me in it if it could. But it loves my wife and no matter the malfunction with this truck it has always got her home or to safety before it quits completely and that's why I keep it in the driveway. That and it's had to trailer both my f250's home.

I can tell you I have beat the living hell out of this truck I totaled it out twice that’s correct twice. I have 200000 miles on my truck 5.7 no tick. I did have the tipm replace definitely a poor design. Regular maintenance I did take care of everything it needed religiously. I also use it as a truck tow haul load ETC. It still has a great ride and looks great the interior is in great shape. I will buy another Ram with out thinking twice my son now also is a ram lover. Ram is the way to go for a real truck. Bottom line

Just rolled over 210,000 miles. Replaced water pump 2 times and got an online fix/kit for the TPM I fixed myself ~ $100. Have traveled many states and haul a bass boat a lot. Easy to work on and find parts if needed. This truck has done the job for me no greater or less that the other manufactures I've owned over my lifetime.

Reliable vehicle for work or fun.
The vehicle has been a reliable driving vehicle towing trailers and going back and forth to work. I have had to replace a bearing in the front differential and the transfer case leaks fluid a little, but that is expected with this age of vehicle. I would definitely buy a ram again.

Power and comfort, plenty of room.
Overall I love the truck, however it has issues with the interior lighting and has run through several cam position sensors. The ride is very comfortable and the truck has plenty of power with the hemi engine. I pull a camper and barely notice that it is back there.

Why I like my dodge ram 1500 4x4.
I really like my truck, it has a hemi engine for lots of power, 4x4 to go in mud or snow, and it is reliable transportation. It looks good and rides well. It is comfortable to drive and the gas mileage is ok. I get about 12 to 13 mph in the city and on the highway using cruise control I get about 17 to 18 mph.

It has a lot of power in the motor and is a lot of fun to drive.
It runs good my model has the 5.7 hemi in it and is super reliable the cab has a lot of room and is not cramped. And it can tow quite a bit for being a single cab. Over all I love this truck and will not sell it. I have taken it to Houston Texas and back a few times and it was a easy drive for it.

Review on the dodge ram 1500.
The ram 1500 is great for driving distances I found out. It is better on gas that way compared to running around town. The bed is kind of short which limits what I can put in it without leaning out. It is spacious inside front and back seat. We haven’t used the four wheel drive much but it works.

The ram 1500 is an amazing truck to drive.
This truck drives like a car!! Very comfortable ride, roomy inside. I bought this truck used 2 years ago and it has been very reliable so far. This truck has amazing power to 'punch it' when necessary. This truck handles very well in the Midwestern winters and starts immediately no matter the temperature.

Great truck. Love to drive it.
Performs great. No engine or transmission issues. No mechanical issues. Had to replace wiring harness but it was under warranty. Original tires lasted 40k miles. Black tape in between doors and windows started to come off. No other cosmetic issues. Driver's seat starting to wear out.

Great midsize pickup truck!
I love my ram 1500. The cab and engine are a little smaller than I'd like but I love the truck nonetheless. I plan on driving this truck until it dies as I no longer have a car payment on it and it is just now reaching 200,000 miles. It is very reliable and has yet to fail me after almost 10 years of owning it. I will most definitely buy another ram in the future once that time comes.

Ram 1500 slt 4x4 is really a very reliable truck! It is very solid and has the capacity to pull a 33 foot RV. The only issue I have had is the passenger rear tire rim develops rust... Just that side. Other than that I do believe that you would very happy with your purchase whether older or newer..

Problem after problem from electrical to leaks everywhere.
I love the design and looks of my truck. However there’s constant issues with the radiator. Heater never blows more than lukewarm. 4x4 constantly says service and will not go into 4 low but no one can find the problem. Seems to have a lot of electrical hiccups. When it rains, water pours out around the lights in the lead liner and out the trim around the door.

It is a dependable truck with many features. The only thing I wish was different was the fuel mileage. I average around 15 mpg which makes me have to buy gas often.

It is a pearl white Lone Star addition and has nice black interior.
Only problem now is the ac fan is going out but my husband is getting it fixed other than that it drives great and its spacious as well and I love the little details of the Lone Star edition. I drive it daily and never had any issues other than the ac going out on me.

Number One in dependability.
The truck is very dependable. We have a cap on the back to we can move a good amount of things for traveling and camping. Lately trouble getting out of park into drive. Hope It's just a sensor and not something major.

I would like to tell others that the Dodge Ram is a very reliable truck and would encourage others to look in purchasing one.
I like my Dodge Ram because it is very reliable and I get great gas mileage.

One detail I would like to highlight is the cargo space underneath the back seat.
The truck is very reliable, comfortable and has great performance in my daily use. I haul and load pallets of tile and sand. The truck never lets me down. The 4x4 feature comes in handy when driving in muddy areas to make my deliveries. All around great truck and will definitely buy another one.

100,000 k's babied from start. Got the ticking noise, and was told the same as all the other reports, exhaust manifold, lifter. Then bang one cylinder explodes???4.7 engine

It has a great ride, handles well and very comfortable.
My Dodge Ram 1500 is a truck that drives like a car. It has lots of room and comfortable for the driver and passenger. The truck does not get good gas mileage and the paint is not holding up well.

2011 ram 1500 146,000 miles runs like a dream.
No problems that I know of yet. I only got stuck in it. Pulls trailers good. Lots of power decent mpg but it is a good truck. If it was better on tires I'd love it but it goes through tires. The truck is rusting out pretty early in the years but not much yet.

Amazing truck wouldn't buy any other brand.
I have no issues at all drive it almost 120 miles daily and it is required minimal to no maintenance. It isn't the most fuel efficient truck but as far as power and towing it is amazing. It has hauled and towed anything I have thrown at it. This truck has done everything I have asked of it and has had plenty more to give. Love this truck and when it is tired and had no more left I will not hesitate to trade it in and get another one. I will never buy another truck except for a ram. It is my 7th now and I am a lifetime buyer.

Great power, need body improvements.
Great truck, typical rocker rust like most dodges. Good pull power. Wish it had electric seats. The six foot four inch bed is a great addition. I highly recommend the extra space. Changing strut tower bushings can be complicated when necessary as rams have a knack for rusting right with the bolt in the bushing and having to replace the bushing.

Overall beyond satisfied! Happy with my purchase.
Absolutely love my truck so much. The seating is so comfortable. Every feature is easy to use. The drive is very smooth and has a good horsepower. I am in love with the truck overall. Only complaint I have is that the seating in the back is small. But other than that I wouldn’t change anything and I think that this is the best purchase I have ever made.
