Owner
So after waiting the 4+ months for it to be built and arrive, I was pretty happy with the truck until I took it on the first trip with about 1000 miles on it in Jan of 18 on a 7* windy snowy day and the def froze up and put me in limp mode about 120 miles from home and about 120 miles to the closest ram dealer, it went into limp mode about 5 miles short of that dealer and after an exhausting 6 hour delay there they replaced the def pump and fluid and I was back on my way- no other issues sans poor fuel mileage (sub 10mpg average on the 4500 mile trip), but not even 2 weeks after being back home, same issue- warning light of see dealer now limp mode in 150 miles and sure enough it had to go in and get yet another new pump as the def was once again frozen into a solid block of ice and apparently took out the pump, then not even a month later yet again for a 3rd time in less than 5700 miles of ownership. No thanks- emmissions bs has ruined the diesel engine. Since then I have had to remove the grid heater and clean it out twice and replace the infamous bolt that is prone to breaking and destroying the engine once and the mileage has always been low, like super bad for a diesel. Coming from a 7.3L diesel that was an almost identally equipped truck that did the same work and I routinely got over 20mpg and lifetime average on that was 18.6 including all towing miles vs this ram now at only 16k miles and at best I can squeeze out 17.5-18 mpg empty driving no more than the speed limit and towing it is still 10ish with a lifetime average currently of only 15. I wish I had bought a gasser!!! Sadly no gasser come with a manual transmission

Tows great and stops even better.
Drives well for a one ton pickup. The engine brake is handy for slowing heavy loads. Tow/haul mode in transmission greatly increases towing. Very little problems just a coolant sensor so far at 127000 miles. Upgraded to leather. Bluetooth works great.

Why ask for more when buying a ram 3500.
Problems would have to be the lack of amenities. Even though my truck is mostly fully loaded, there are so really neat aftermarket items that would be beneficial for where I live. I was not offered any of them when purchasing, so I would have to do a third party upgrade to get them. For example the third brake light backup camera for hooking up my fifth wheel. The second bad thing about the 3500 is the super stiff suspension. It definitely takes a toll on your back when empty. I would suggest air shock seats as an option. Other than that, it is a great truck. Gets decent mileage. It is comfortable to drive and has lots of features.

It's a great work truck! Tows great, lots of power, decent fuel mileage.
Love my Truck. Very nice truck, tows wonderfully, however the DEF system is a pain. I hate constantly having to put diesel exhaust fluid into it.

Pulls everything I need it to. Great traction in the winter.
Haven't had any problems with this truck. I have owned it since brand new and never once have I ever had to worry. I live in the north and the cummins starts right up even in the cold weather. I would consider buying another ram down the road and would recommend this truck to my friends and family.

It is extremely strong and sturdy. It handles very well and smooth.
I absolutely love the truck. It has never let me down. Has plenty of get up and go when needed and is well built.

Great and quite ride.
2017 Ram 3500 DRW,,, love my truck. Zero issues or problems in the three years of heavy use.

It is a complete powerhouse and will pull anything you put behind it.
Truck has amazing power and torque. Easy to work on. Six speed manual makes towing easy. Only complaint is all of the emissions garbage on the truck when it was first bought.

Ram 3500 is the way to go for hauling!
For a 1-ton diesel, I was really surprised at the fade mileage I am getting with this vehicle. I have not any major issues with this truck. I have owned several ram pickup trucks. But this one with cummins engine seems to be my favorite thus far. I would highly recommend this vehicle to anyone looking to buy a pickup. Not just for the towing power, which is great... But as well as ease of driving and comfort. The stiff suspension takes some getting used to, but still preferred on long hauls that I do with it.

Absolutely the best truck on the road.
My 2017 3500 dually is beautiful inside and out. The GPS screen is so large and easy to see. It seats 6. I am a full time RVer and have a daniff (half great Dane, half mastiff) and her and her kitty sister travel in the backseat of our extended cab truck, and they have plenty of room to move around and get comfortable. We have had zero performance problems. The only complaint I have is that all 4 of our wheel covers broke as soon as they were removed to change the tires. Poor design system.

Amazing dodge ram pickup truck.
This truck has been an awesome truck for me and my family it tows our families toy hauler anywhere we want with no problems and has never let us down or left us stranded. Dodge ram is definitely the way to go if you are in the market for a family truck.

Its ability to change front two wheel drive to four wheel drive.
When its really cold the back up camera doesn't work. Though it very reliably, drives smoothly, and also can take a hit like a champ.( I got rear ended by another truck not even totalled). The spare tire is hard if you're not a mechanic to undo from underneath the bed. I like how there are light in the bed and also compartments everywhere from the back to the front. I do suggested reading the manual to know where everything is through.

17 ram 3500 longhorn Laramie- the luxury truck that can haul effortlessly.
We love the extra design details in the longhorn Laramie like the etching in the leather seats, the saddlebags for storage behind the front seats, the ample leg room in the back mega crew cab, and all of the features included on the touchscreen radio/GPS/Bluetooth/Wi-Fi control panel. It rides very smooth and includes the holes pre-installed for a po box for a fifth-wheel in the bed of the truck. I especially love the heated and air cooled seats and my fiance' loves the auto windshield wipers and auto on/off high beam headlights.

Backup camera, big bumpers.
Like: it is able to pull my trailer without any problem. Dislike: I am not able to see over the top of the hood, to the front of the truck.

My ram power house, tough and defined.
I like the overall style and design of this ram truck. I have always been a big dodge fan and they continue to win me over with these products. The power generated by these power trains is one more thing that continues to amaze me, I can hook my 32 ft stock trailer to this thing, load it with 8 clydesdale work horses and it never fails to take us where we need to go.

2017 Dodge RAM 3500 diesel.
We've had our pick up about 3 months and so far we haven't had any problems with it. We looked and looked and this is the only one we could find within reasonable distance. The others we found were all 250-500 miles away from us. We have used our pickup for lots of different things already, we've used it to haul cattle, move machinery and we've also used as a car to drive our family around!

Able to rely on our truck when it comes to moving our toy hauler.
Gets stuck in gear (to prevent this 1st put in Neutral prior to Park; or avoid Park all together along with e-brake), squeaking brakes even after replacing them, Dodge, Ram, & Jeep Dealership consistently states they will not rotate wheels (a courtesy provided to other vehicles) because it is too much of a hassle, & at one point during our travels a random clicking noise around the tire area occurred which after researching this seems to be a common question from Ram 3500 truck owners.

It is towing capacity and ability to haul a wide range of trailers.
6. 7 liter turbo diesel in the Dodge makes for a powerful reliable truck and it is very comfy. Would recommend 10/10.

Dodge, a new kind of truck!
Dodge was notorious for their trucks having faulty transmissions upon crossing 100k mark for the past 20+ years. Dodge has really improved their efforts by offering the best towing capacity in its class, I have towed constantly for 3 years with little or no transmission work needed in that whole time.

Non-essential tools are faulty, overall nice vehicle.
Have had issues with electronics and measurement tools on the vehicle, like oil light being on or the brake lights being out when in reality they were still working. However, it is a very practical car (storage wise) and is an enjoyable ride. Mileage is not great but it could be worse.
accountCircle Tay E on July 28, 2020
The hauling is amazing and very comfy.
I love my truck. Gets me to and from places. Hauls very nicely across the country whether its a horse trailer, boat, or RV. We love this truck. Will always buy a ram.

My truck is my work partner.
I have never had any problems at all and the performance has always been great. The reliability and dependability are the biggest reason I love it but the design itself is a top factor as well. If I could change any one thing I guess I would shoot for better fuel mileage.

Junk upper ball joints and major tire wear a tire low milage
I have a 2017 ram 3500 dually diesel in service 1 year and 8 months now with 55,000 kms,you can read all the wonderful reviews when their trucks are near new, I loved this truck but it has a junk front end mainly ball joints gone at 25,000 and wearing outside of tires ,3 rd right front tire now at 55,000 and all stock and not gravel driven, I am not an unusual case I found out that they all have front end junk problems, tires and ball joints will be a constant problem and cost you thousands over the years , also warranty dosnt cover tire wear or alignment , at this rate I will be on my 5 th right front tire and 3 rd set of ball joints by 80,000 kms if Dodge dosnt fix the problem.......oh by the way my old 98 Cummins with nearly 200,000 kms still has original ball joints and tires last and wear evenly , and it starts in cold weather not plugged in and has been trouble free for 22 yrs running FANTASTIC

Great all around towing vehicle.
Good truck, plenty of power for pulling a 4 horse trailer, the dual wheels keeps the load stabilized, the tow/haul feature down gears the transmission to give it more power climbing mountains and slowing it down going down a mountain with a load, can connect my phone to its Bluetooth system, lots of room inside, backup camera and sensors, love it!

Dodge ram 3500 incredible towing.
Fantastic vehicle that I got to replace my older truck which was a f 250. This vehicle does not disappoint when it comes to towing capability, it's the best I have seen. I have yet to have any transmission issue, engine issues from heavy towing. Vehicle itself works extremely well and is sleek.

Our truck is tough! He can drive through any type of terrain and weather.
Love the amount of room in the back seat. Wish it had more vents in the back seat and a navigation system.

2017 RAM 3500 mega cab pickup.
The 6. 7 Cummins has satisfied all my travel and towing needs, it is fuel economy is acceptable and I have always appreciated the longevity of the Cummins engine. Interior comfort is second to none and due to the mega cab our family comfortable travels long distances in the back seat. I have yet to experience any real performance issues beside the tire pressure monitoring system seems to always have a sensor going bad.

That my truck will always get me from point a to point b no matter what.
Truck is very reliable and performs outstandingly. It has one of the best tow ratings and payload capacity in industry.
accountCircle Gary O on November 21, 2019
This truck is a workhorse. Over 5,000 payload and towing capacity of 30,000 pounds.
There isn't anything I dislike about my truck. I really like the 3500 dually with the 4.10 and Asia transmission. It's a workhorse and not too bad on the eyes either. Heated and cooled seats, heated steering wheel, automatic headlights and wipers. Love this truck
accountCircle Angela S on August 28, 2019
Great pulling truck but they do need to work ignition issues.
I have had some complications with this truck . And have had it worked in several times but it holds up to the workload that we require for our job. We are hard on trucks so it has to be able to pull, climb and haul and this is one if the few trucks that can handle our work load.

Low maintenance and not one warranty issue.
Love the ride. Pull our home and it is comfortable. Gas could be better. Color white is nice. Dually tires are with it.

Great power. Can tow pretty much everything! The interior has been upgraded from previous years for the good! It's very comfortable for all passengers!

Dodge RAM 3500 best you can buy!
Has all the bells and whistles--heated & cooling seats front and back and steering wheel. Diesel pulls 40 foot RV great. Sirius radio, surround sound, nice running boards. Easy driving with backup viewer and body sensors front and back. Jack Brake. All controls on back of steering wheel for easy access. Automatic wipers!
accountCircle Karl K on November 1, 2018
The seats recline in the back adding extra room in the cab for comfort.
Smooth ride, comfortable seating, great get up and go. Love the heated seats and steering wheel in the cold or when I am having issues with my back. The back up camera helps me see things in the back of the road while I am driving down the road.
