Mine is a limited edition, it's numbered. Has a limited edition color. Came from factory with ground effects, gauges are in the middle of the dash. The radio changes color.
Never have any problems, only need regular maintenance. Cheap on gas. Can park it almost anywhere. Easy to drive. Seat are comfortable for long trips. Able to put two car seats in the back.

Title: scion ax: a commuter car.
This car is a money saver. As a college student I do not have to worry too much about gas given how gas efficient this car is. The size is also great because it fits 5 people but is still small enough to park in many tight spots. A cons is that the trunk is extremely small, makes shopping challenging and I often have to use primarily my back seats. Given this car is a 2006 model, the electronic safety features are not there such as blind spot sensors, automatic braking, no backing camera, no lane departure correction, and no cruise control. It is a very comfortable car and great for using on smaller distances.

The one important thing is that is was made by a well known brand Toyota.
I bought it used after my other car was totaled in an accident. I like it because it has Toyota parts so it should have good performance. I really dislike that it vibrates when I am stopped at a red light. It makes me nervous; however, it drives well on the roadway.

2006 Scion Xa still going strong.
The 2006 Scion Xa is a five-door subcompact hatchback with a 1.5L 4 cyl engine. It came with the option of a 4 speed automatic or 5 speed manual transmission. Mine is automatic. It is very comfortable to get in and out of. It's not low to the ground like a sports car nor excessively tall like a SUV or truck. The interior is roomy for a smaller car. It has 5 cloth seats and carpeted floor mats matching the carpet color. The factory stereo, a Pioneer, is quite good. It has an auxiliary port to plug in mobile devices. The steering wheel adjusts up and down to two settings, allowing for a comfortable driving positioning. The front seats slide forwards and backwards with the control lever in the base of the seats to allow more or less leg room. There are manually adjustable headrests. The front seats can be reclined or leaned forward with a side control knob, which can be helpful if loading something long into the vehicle. The back seats can be completely folded flat to make a larger hauling area. There is no trunk, but the hatchback area with the back seats laid down flat provides an ample amount of room. The spare tire and equipment reside under the hatchback floor area. It has power windows, power side mirror adjustments, and a child proof lock that disables the ability to roll down the windows when on. I have had no major problems or repairs needed. In my experience this car will perform for many years as long as it's serviced regularly and has been very reliable. The 1.5L 4 cyl engine does make it difficult for the car to get up to speed as quickly as newer cars, or those with a larger engine. For a car of that year and style, it has a comfortable ride. No jarring sensations from going over bumps or shaking of the car as it accelerates. I have been driving it for years and hope to continue driving it for many more. It is a good quality vehicle that performs well.

Good gas mileage in an affordable car.
I like the small size and good gas mileage. The car has needed minimal repairs to keep it running smoothly which is great. I would prefer a car that doesn't have as much road noise and has more comfortable seats.

Tiny car that keeps going and going.
It has over 250, 000 miles. It is like a smart car with a trunk; not a lot of room. It is a silver hatchback. Because it is so small, it does not have a very good shock system so you feel every bump. There’s not much leg room, and if you put a car seat in the back you cannot push the front seat all the way back either.

My car is good on gas and help get me through the week. The insides are nice and comfortable. The current problem right now is that it needed a A/C compressor and some new tires. Overall, the car is very dependable and can me and my friends to where I needed to go.

Driving a 12 year old scion.
It is an older car and it has 124, 000 mile on it. I bought it used 9 months ago when my other car was totaled in an accident so I do not have a longstanding history with this car. So far the only things that are troublesome is that it idles strongly when I am stopped. Also, when it rains it feels like it will shut off when I first start the car until it gets warmed up.

Love my little scion xa. Hope it runs forever!
My scion has 261,000 miles, and has never been in the shop. I have it serviced regularly, and it gets fantastic gas mileage - 33-35 mpg. Have only changed brakes once, and have had a new water pump. On my third or fourth set of tires. I love my little scion. It has some scratches and dents, but has certainly serviced me well.
accountCircle Amy S on August 21, 2020
Small sturdy with great gas mileage.
It is a solid car with great handling. We've had minimal problems over the last 12 years. We've had the brakes replaced twice and we will need a new alternator. Replacement parts are very expensive, we've had our mirror knocked off twice and it is over 200 bucks for a new mirror. That price has not gone down or up during the time we've had the car. The car is really sturdy and has taken us through mud, up mountains and across the country. I love the aspect of a shade in the back that covers what I might be hauling. The car amazingly has never been broken into and I think part of it has to do with nothing being visible. The seats fold down and we can get just about anything from Ikea, we use a pellet stove and we've hauled plenty of pellet bags and feed bags for our animals.

I've owned this vehicle for 12 years. It only has about 62,000 miles on it. It's a great little car for my needs. Gets about 240-260 miles on a full tank of gas. Only maintenance has been regular oil changes, battery replacement(once), brake service(twice), tire replacement(twice), headlight bulb replacement(once), and miscellaneous service. Only issues I can come up with is not very insulated against noise when driving and driving in snowy conditions(it's a light car).

Fun ride and roomy enough for 4.
Good on gas, fast acceleration, great fun ride. A little rough ride. Design is easy on the eyes, and people seem to relate it to the old VW beetle bug. Dash is center placed which took some time to get used to, but I like it. Heated seats would have been a nice option to have available.

Performance has been great very few problems, the only notable one would be a squeaky timing belt and bad batteries. Been our daily driver for close to six years. Scion xA 2006 4-Door High Mileage
My Scion xA 2006 has been very reliable since I bought it!! I got a high mileage vehicle for a great price, but the high mileage hasn't seemed to impact its performance. I've only had to take it into the shop once for something minor. I think if you make sure to take care of this vehicle, it can last you a long time. The only downside is how small it is. If you prefer smaller vehicles it could be perfect for you, but keep in mind how much space you might need when thinking about making this purchase.

Fun car in small packaging!
This is one of the most fun cars I've ever driven. It is deceptively large inside, looking at it you wouldn't guess at how roomy the interior space is. The rear passenger seats can be folded down to expand the rear cargo space. With the seats all set up four adults can take reasonable trips comfortably, two can hop in and ride with no issues of space or comfort as well. The standard sound system offered is actually very good, plays well in the space offered by the vehicle. There are many available options for this model year and each one builds on the baseline offering very well. The vvti motor doesn't disappoint, great get up and go. I never feel like I'm going to get squished by freeway traffic while I'm merging onto it at any time. I would absolutely get another and encourage anybody considering one to get it!

Gas efficiency is a sole plus.
It is great on gas mileage and fairly reliable. Other than that, I hate it. It is small, uncomfortable and the power options have already gone out. It sits so low to the ground that any raised pavement has the potential to really mess your car up. You cannot go just anywhere in this car.

I used this vehicle for years for work. I did all of the maintenance repairs. It had over 100,000 miles on it when I stopped working 8 years ago. I still use it. Except for tires and a few small repairs, it's been great. When I bought it all of the extras were included, so it was cheaper than buying an American economy car. Love this little Rollerskate!!
I bought this car three years ago. It had 230,000 miles. It now has 270,000 miles. I knew the previous owner so I was confident it was reliable. I replaced the alternator two years ago for $260, then the brakes $27 (changed the pads myself) as well as routine oil changes. Nothing too surprising in an older car. This is a fun little car with lots of get up and go. It handles great in the snow and icy roads passing up tons of other stuck vehicles. I've done quite a few road trips with my daughter sleeping at rest stops along the way. I'm 5'4" and sleep pretty comfortably in the driver's seat. My daughter is 5'10". She sleeps comfortably in the passenger's seat with the only complaint being that she wishes the seat would recline completely flat. The back seats fold down creating tons of space for hauling stuff. I would buy this car again.

I LOVE my Scion!
I bought my Scion in 2014 with roughly 202,000 miles on it. At the time I had never seen one before. I was out looking for a cheap used car and came across this hatchback and I instantly thought, my god what an ugly vehicle, I have to have it! Flash forward five years later, and it now has 305,000 miles on it. In those five years I had to replace 2 coil packs, the battery, brake pads and an alternator. But it finally stopped running and I have No ideas what's wrong with it, no one does. But, I love my Scion SO much I'm getting ready to buy another one JUST like it. Scions get great gas mileage and you wouldn't believe it but, they're pretty fast too. They are way more spacious than one might think as well. I once fit a futon in it... And my son's full size bike fits in the back too. I also like the fact that it can fit into almost any parking spot. I can't tell you how many times I've been able to find parking because my car is small enough to fit in places that most other cars can't. I may just drive Scions for the rest of my life... That's how much I love them. My only real complaints are that they don't climb hills very good, and they do get blown around in high wind. Other than that, I just can't say enough nice things about them!
