Great car 2001 Subaru Forester
Had to replace the motor at 188,000 miles car is great with the new motor everything else seems to work as it should. Very reliable good heat and good air-conditioning The clock stopped working but was very easy to fix by taking it apart and soldering some connections

The rear storage area is super for security reasons.
Purchased vehicle used and with over 125, 000 miles. This car has treated me very good. I would be happy for another Subaru. During the last few month's the check engine light has been showing, but still running well. If I could afford it I would have my car detailed and drive it for another three years.

Very comfortable to sit in for long drives and the seat warmers are great. It sits just high enough that I do not have to stoop to get into the car.
I don't like the fact that it leaks oil and has a leak in the sun roof, other than those two issues I love it.

The Forester that doesn't quit, and is prettier on the inside:).
We bought this car used from a dealership so it was already a little beat up. I'd have to say that the worst things are mostly cosmetic, like two of the temperature/fan control knobs are broken so you have to switch between them to be able to change the amount of air that comes out. The air conditioner also pooped out, and I wonder if that is the case with just this car, or is a thing with Foresters. Otherwise the car runs pretty well for its age. A trooper.

Small in size but lots of space
It's small enough in size but has enough space to act like a SUV. Heated seats are plus.

This Reliable, Classic Car can give you the experience of your very own Subaru commercial
This is honestly my favorite car and I will love it until the day I die. Before I had this Subaru I didn't really believe all those commercials (you know the ones, where the Subaru stays with the family through years or decades of children growing up, etc). And I bought this car already used from a friend who'd had it since she was a baby (it was a family car until she got her driver's license, where her parents bought a new Subaru and left her the old one) and it's been a few years of road tripping (I regularly travel to Los Angeles and up and down the Pacific Coast highway) as well as regular everyday use in college and for work. It is such a reliable car even after almost two decades of use. I highly recommend this car. My only issue is that some of the tint on the back side windows is starting to peel.

If you want a car that lasts, get a Subaru Forester.
There are many things I like about my Subaru Forester. It has a lot of nice accessories, such as a well-built dog gate and an easy-to-use ski rack. It also handles well in snow. Plus, it is standing the test of time. It's over 15 years old and it still runs great! My only complaint is it will be expensive to replace, as they've gone up substantially in price.

It is well built and reliable.
I love my Subaru. I have had it a long time and it has given me very little trouble. It is a solidly built, reliable car. It has all wheel drive which makes me feel safer when road conditions are bad.

It is old but it is great in the snow with studded snow tires on.
It's old and rattles and is ugly and everyone else is driving something new but I should be thankful I at least have a car that I can fill with gas using my hard earned money because without my car I wouldn't be able to get to and from work. It's also good in the snow and welcome to Vermont where it is always snowing.

Good vehicle, though older and not fancy
Smooth ride and really cannot think of any problems. It's just older, so less fancy features. Also, plastic bumpers for some reason, which makes NO sense to me. For example, does not have a stereo that works or a good sound system. But I really like the visibility and the smoothness with which it runs. I plan to buy another used Subaru in the future.

Reliable car for a everyday driven car
I personally just want a faster car. It is a good car, but it's not my style and it was handed down to me. I will say it has been a reliable car, lot of people have told me how good Subaru is and I understand how. If you're able to keep up with the maintenance then you're going to be set for a long time. Now I have also heard that the hub bearings go out on these cars a lot and I have personally changed one of them and I think I have 2 more that need to be done.

2001 Subaru forester l has made me a loyal Subaru owner.
I love my Subaru forester all wheel drive and size, which help me get up uneven mountain roads and navigate roads in inclement weather. It is got a roof rack and hatch back design to hold lots of cargo. The gas mileage is decent, as well. However, at about 195, 000 miles and 17 years of age, despite good upkeep by one owner for most of its life, my car is starting to need lots of repairs. It is finally starting to become less than reliable.

Corners on a dirt road like nobody's business.
Reliable, economical, all wheel drive, easy to fix and find parts. Corners on a dirt road the best of any vehicle I have ever driven. Good all around car. Good cargo space and yes dog approved. Low ground clearance, not much power Not made in the use, small petals. Easy to high center.

A good vehicle will last a long time with servicing.
I like how it looks. It is tough and durable. Fuel use is decent for It's era. It has all of the amenities I wanted. The alarm system had to be taken out because it was too old and was no longer serviceable.

My Subaru is a good car for doing what I need to do.
I have a gold 2001 Subaru Forester. We bought it because my old car broke down. I like it because it fits my personality and it's a good car. I wish it was a bit bigger, as we have two toddlers in car seats. It also has cup holders in the weirdest spot-in front of the air vents.

2001 Subaru Forester: super reliable vehicle.
2001 Forester was top of line at time. It has been the most reliable car that I have owned. It does not have modern bells and whistles such as digital screen controls, lane departure, or GPS, so I am not anxious about these systems causing costly problems.
accountCircle Perry L on October 5, 2020
Good on gas it is. Small enough to park easy. Great sound system...
It is lasted forever with very little unexpected maintenance. The only dislike would be that the gas mileage could be a little bit better compared to other cars of the same year and style.

My Subie turned 16 this year and it still pleases me to drive daily!
It has excellent all wheel drive traction control, logical controls, is very easy to work on, parts are commonly found online inexpensively, or at an auto recycling yard. Still getting 23-23 mpg overall, very happy with turning radius and maneuverability.
accountCircle Lisa P on August 26, 2020
It is expensive to fix anything.
I like the functionality of it - handles well, good cargo space, feels like a safe car. It handles well in rain and snow, which is nice. But it is not comfortable - the seats are unbearable and it is kinda cramped for legroom. Also, it is just sort of blah to drive; not a fun, zippy car.
accountCircle Catherine M on July 12, 2020
I love the storage space and the big windows. I've even hailed goats in my car! I wish it got better gas mileage though.
It is a sturdy reliable rig! I only got stuck in the snow one time this last winter and I can haul almost anything in it!

Subaru makes a great 'work horse' of a car. They just keep going and going!
This is an older car, but it had low mileage when we purchased it. Personally, I think it's a little too 'tall.' I get blown around on windy days. But I really like the cup holders in the front--they fold away into the dash! (Why Subaru ever got rid of that feature, I don't know.) I like the gas mileage, the vents system works great, radio works great. The rubber sealing on the doors is starting to fall off, but, realistically, the vehicle is 18 years old. Rubber doesn't last forever. The engine is good; no troubles. I really can't complain. Anything that's 'wrong' is due to old age & easy to fix.

Subaru is an economic and a durable car.
Very small if you have kids, in general is a good car with a very good and durable engine. Have a big space if you like to travel, is very secure car. Is very economic and you can just fill the gas tank with $40 and this is very durable. Is a reliable brand of car.

Never doubt a Subaru - very good car!
I love it! Great on gas, safe, dependable, and has a sunroof. I fell in love with the older models - I feel like they have better durability, especially driving on the road. I only take this car back and forth to work only 5 days a week.

Subaru Forester rock solid vehicle
My Subaru Forester handles amazingly well, can take corners at a faster speed with ease. The motor feels strong and has some get up and go power. I have felt very safe and secure in my Forester since the day I got it. I haven't ever been broke down on side of the road in it yet.
accountCircle Mae Y on April 21, 2020
The fuel costs are amazing.
I love that it is a strong, safe feeling vehicle that can drive in almost all weather conditions. I do not like that there is a manufacturer issue with leaking head gaskets in older Subarus. I wish the gas mileage was better.
accountCircle Peter S on April 17, 2020
The "boxer" engine is both reliable and durable (ours has over 200K miles without major work on it). I do try to maintain it well with regular oil changes and good quality tires.
This is a reliable, reasonably comfortable, and reasonably economical to operate vehicle for both road travel and daily use. We recently drove it almost 2600 miles in ten days through "flyover" country. It drives very well in our mountainous state.

My true feelings of the 2001 forester.
This is a very reliable car. It has all the features one could ask for. Power mirrors heated seats, mirrors and you can get a block heater if needed. The driver feel is very nice. You will truly enjoy. Very low upkeep cost.. This model can have added rear seat DVD player.

She does not look like she is nearly 20 years old.
I love the heated seats and side mirrors. There are tons of storage bins in the car. I love that it is not as big as some of the SUV's out there. It is great on fuel mileage. It handles so well. Can fit anywhere a regular car can. I have a 5 speed manual that makes it so much more fun to drive with more control in poor weather conditions such as snow. I have never gotten stuck in snow. The automatic all wheel drive works so well you do not even realize it has saved you unless you are paying attention. The abs brakes have never let me down. It has only required routine maintenance with one exception which was a major problem. The oil light on the dashboard never came on indicating a problem with the oil at about 186,000 miles. The engine seized and I had it replaced with a new used engine. I now check my oil every 1000 miles. Usually she needs a quart of oil every 1000 miles. She still rides wonderfully. I only replaced the MacPherson struts once. I have done the clutch twice.

Lots of space, safety features, great for snow and weather conditions.
Durability and reliability is out the roof we had this car for so long and it never shut down, worse problem was a flat tire. Turning is a bit hard, breaks are slow. It's one of those cars that gets you to and from safety and security which is great because I just got my license and I be scared.

A Subaru Forester with very low milk age for its make, model, and year. This Subaru Forester is forest green on the exterior and tan cloth on the interior. The Subaru Forester is a perfect family car - it's spacious, secure, and reliable.
I love that our vehicle is sturdy. It has all-wheel drive which makes driving in inclement weather feel safer. With a child in the car, safety is our main priority. The only thing I don't like about our Subaru is that the cruise and engine lights are always flashing for no apparent reason. Also, the idle has to be reset every time the battery gets disconnected.

These cars tend to last a very long time, so they can be driven for a while.
There seems to always be a small oil seepage coming from an unknown location, but it never seems to hurt anything within the vehicle itself, so it should be okay as long as you keep an eye on it and make sure it does not get any worse.

Why you should get a Subaru.
Subaru is a great car brand due to it is all wheel drive and other safety features. It gets great gas mileage and runs in most terrains with easy handling. The forester is a wagon that has a lot of space for packing things you need. Older models do tend to break every once in a while, but is easy to fix.

Very Reliable, Goes Anywhere
This is a very reliable vehicle. I have had to have basic maintenance work done (replaced the belts) but overall it hasn't required anything out of the ordinary or had recurring problems. Like any high mileage Subaru, the body goes before the motor and I'm looking at rust issues (some on the body, but the main problem being the undercarriage... But Pennsylvania winters and salt on the roads are to blame). I absolutely love this car and often say that I feel like I'm driving a little tank.

My last car was older and started falling apart, so my Aunt gave me her old car. I like the size and interior, but since I'm tall, my legs are at an awkward angle when driving. Also, I'm spending about 50 dollars more a month on gas since it's a bigger car.

I have absolutely loved my Subaru Forester. It has been through 3 other reckless teenagers and is now owned only by me and my husband.
