I learned something today after owning for 6 years
2013 Subaru Forester 2.5XT Touring
I have an XT Touring Forester and accidentally left the hatch back light on all night with original battery. The battery was completely dead in the morning. No big deal right? I have jumper cables and battery jumper kit under hatchback floor. Guess what? The hatch back won't open when the battery is dead. I had to empty everything through the back row. I now keep my jumper cables and battery jumper kit under the passenger seat.
I'm the original owner and love my XT Touring Forester. The gas mileage has gotten better as it breaks in topping out at 24-25 MPG highway. Seriously fast SUV and handles great in the snow. No problems at all. Original battery, tires and brakes at 60K. I use synthetic oil and replace as Subaru recommends.
Note: Tires have half tread; brake pads over 50%, battery still working. You simply can't beat a Subaru.
