The reliability ratings are class-leading for a midsize car, ownership costs are very affordable, and there’s enough room to fit adults in the back seats.
dislikeFilled The Bad
Even with improvements, there’s still more cheap plastic trim used throughout the cabin than competitors, the driving experience is very boring, and the infotainment system is difficult to use.

2013 Toyota Camry: Quick Overview

  • New features for the 2013 model year include a standard touchscreen infotainment system, and improvements to interior materials.
  • Reliability ratings are great, according to J.D. Power, with fewer complaints than the 2012 model.
  • Two engines are available, including an efficient four-cylinder and a V6 with good power for the class.
  • Fuel efficiency is average and ties for 5th place out of 14 midsize cars with a combined rating of up to 28 miles per gallon.
  • Safety ratings are excellent, getting a perfect five-star rating in government crash tests, and earning the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s Top Safety Pick award.
  • The 2013 Toyota Camry ranks 3rd out of 14 midsize cars, based on owner reviews. A combination of long-lasting powertrain choices and plenty of passenger room make the Camry win against most competitors.

Camry the newest sporty sedan, that is also very affordable.
I love the ease of getting in and out of the car, also the comfort of the vehicle when taking long distance trips is great. I have never experienced any problems with my car, it has been very reliable. The features and color of my car are very eye appealing to me.

You can track the trip you take and see it on the touch screen radio.
Oil filter needed to be changed. Crack in the window. Under pending came off. Has a touch screen radio. Tracks mpg. Bluetooth feature. Big truck. Extra tire in the trunk. The car itself runs smoothly, has good brakes. The seats in the car are stained but the are comfortable and adjust to the height of the driver. It is spacious inside the car.

Toyota remains one of the most dependable cars on the road.
I absolutely love this car. It has ample room for my long legs and while the doors are study, they do not charge back on you when you are exiting the car. It is holds one of the best blue book value and if I need another vehicle, it will be another Camry.

Safest car I have ever owned.
I absolutely adore my Toyota Camry. This car has saved my life on several occasions. It is built to last and endure, and consistently performs better than any other make of car I have ever owned. It is also extremely comfortable with power seats, and I wouldn't want to own any other car.

My ride since 2014, perfect till this day.
My car is very spacious, reliable, since I bought my car have not had any major problems other than replacing tires. Gas mileage is very good, can fill up with $30. Driven my car across the us. From California to South Carolina and many other places up to this day. Seats are very comfortable. I do have children so my seat which are grey have not been kept very clean.

Toyota Camry - not as reliable as I thought it would be.
I have had more problems with this car than any other. I thought Toyota's were supposed to be very reliable, but mine has been everything except that. I have had countless issues with it including shock problems, headlight problems, and more. I have probably spent over $5,000 in auto repairs in the last 2 years on this car.

My review on Toyota Camry 2013.
Honestly when I first bought my car I loved it. Ita still reliable but I have feel that I have outgrown it. The transmission went out on me within the first few months of buying it so that really made me dislike the car. I have a 2013 Toyota Camry. It definitely is a reliable car it is good on gas and will run good for a long time.

I like the color of it as well as the speed
It isn't as comfortable as people claim it to be, it drives efficiently but you can also feel every bump and obstacle in the path. The gas isn't as expensive however not worthy with the brand of car. The aux and Bluetooth are one the few accommodations that I really do admire about the car

Pretty good car to drive but not made for far trips.
Pretty reliable. No problems so far. Decently comfortable, a little noisy. It has a good radio reception. Pretty good touch screen monitor. It is pretty pleasant to drive but very light weight, you can feel it when a big car/truck pass close to you, the car moves.

What Problems Does the 2013 Toyota Camry Have?

The 2013 Toyota Camry has fewer problems than other midsize cars on the market, and is a great choice for shoppers looking for a reliable sedan. There are also a lower number of owner complaints compared to the newer 2014 model. The 2013 Camry problems and recalls encompass random airbag deployment, stuttering transmission, and faulty wipers.

Air conditioning problems, including a moldy smell from the system, are the most common issues. A clogged AC drain causes the odor in very humid climates, and has been addressed in a recall.

Accidental acceleration is another problem owners mention, but is rare. There are software updates available which solve the problem, usually since there is an ECU issue.

Excessive brake noise is also mentioned by owners. There are solutions to the problem including lubricating the brake components, or replacing pads and rotors. Replacing pads and rotors costs about $400 depending on local labor rates.

There are two recalls, which is better than other cars from 2013. The recalls include a wiper switch failure, and a clogged A/C drain which can cause a short circuit. Addressing both are important since they prevent damage to the car’s electrical systems.

What are the Prices, Models & Specs?

The 2013 Toyota Camry is more expensive than most other midsize cars, with a price range of $11,711 to $18,426, depending on the model and mileage. When new, the price range was $22,235 to $30,465. Depreciation is better than average, only dropping 35% in value over the first five years.

  • L is the entry-level model with 16-inch steel wheels, cloth seating, power mirrors and windows, cruise control, and a 6.1-inch infotainment system with Bluetooth, USB, AUX, HD radio, satellite radio, and six speakers.

  • SE is next in the lineup and has 17-inch alloy wheels, sport seats, improved fabric, fog lights, leather steering wheel, and black exterior trim accents.
  • XLE is the flagship model with a softer suspension, leather seating, dual-zone climate control, eight-way power driver’s seat, navigation, and EnTune app connectivity.

How Long Will the 2013 Toyota Camry Last?

A properly maintained 2013 Toyota Camry will last about 300,000 miles, which is longer than most other midsize cars. Regular annual maintenance costs are also more affordable than the competition. Repair Pal estimates them to be $388 per year.

accountCircle Justin D

It is reliable, only if you follow the recommended maintenance schedule provided from the manufacturer. I have only had one breakdown and that was a result of two flat tires. The car is over 110k miles and is still working great.

accountCircle Dana P

Very reliable, and I haven't had any issues with mine at all, I know they are known for timing belt replacements but that is common.

How Does the 2013 Toyota Camry Compare to Other Cars?

Ranking 3rd out of 14 midsize cars, based on owner reviews, the 2013 Toyota Camry is near the top of the class.

In first place is the Honda Accord, which is in the same price range. Reliability ratings and performance are very similar between the two cars. The Accord has better standard technology, and more responsive steering. Where the Camry wins out is with better passenger room, and a smoother suspension. Both are fantastic choices and the decision comes down to personal preference.

Another close competitor is the more affordable Mazda6. Long-term reliability and interior technology are both better in the Camry. The Mazda is much more engaging to drive, and has a bit more room in the cabin. Overall, the Camry is a better choice, but both are good cars and worth buying for shoppers looking for a midsize sedan.

The best part of my Camry is how well it runs after 7 years of heavy use.
My Camry is the epitome of reliability and sturdiness. I usually judge a car by how durable the frame feels as well as how it grips the road. I wish my Camry picked up faster, despite it being an sport edition it is acceleration is not great and makes me a little nervous on the highway sometimes. It is phenomenal on gas mileage however.

Toyota’s are great vehicles.
I love my car. It is reliable and it is great on gas which is nice because as a college student I am broke. But it is a smooth ride and very easy to navigate. I think it has a lot to do with the fact that it is a Toyota and they’re usually pretty reliable cars.

Beautiful silver Toyota Camry a great amount of cup holders and storage space!
Love everything about it with it had review camera but didn't come with that. Color is great and has held up wonderfully over time. Fits all necessary items and used it to take stuff to college. Love the leg room for the backseat feels nice and roomy. One thing I would say is it is hard to see behind me while driving on the highway. Had to roll my window down one time to be able to tell if there were oncoming traffic.

If you are thinking about getting a Camry, do it!
This is my second Camry. These cars are super reliable and efficient. I think I am going to even upgrade to a newer Camry soon. The maintenance costs are low and I rarely have experienced problems with my car. My car has been through it. All kinds of weather, accidents, wear and tear from excessive snow. It is still running great at over 150k miles (knock on wood). I'd recommend a Camry to anyone.

2013 Toyota Camry se: 5 out of 5 stars.
The 2013 Toyota Camry se is safe, reliable, and fun to drive. I know that I can depend on it to get me safely where I am going. Mechanically, at 101,000 miles, this car is sound, despite my current mileage being about 75 miles per day five days per week. It has never needed any repairs outside of its warranty and regular maintenance. It is very easy to maintain.

Small and simple. Light and durable. Slight issue with the brakes and wheels at times. The car drives pretty standard, no red flags as far as mpg goes. Do not expect to get too much wear and tear out of it though. It does feel a little more like a toy car then a hellcat if you catch my drift. Moral of the story: convenience over quality.

The vehicle is spacious and affordable!
I think it is comfortable, I want a new car though. It is very cheap with gas which is great and is definitely a perk. Although it is a four door car, I feel relatively safe. I cannot tell when I have to have more pressure in my tires, which is not my favorite. I do like the amount of space in the Camry. I have been inside a corolla and it is not nearly as spacious. Between the space and cheap Mileage I definitely would recommend this car!

The radio has it to where you can connect Bluetooth and be hands free.
The Toyota Camry is great on gas, it does not run through gas as fast as other cars. That is very helpful when trying to save money for other things you need like groceries. The only thing that can be bad is there’s no air conditioning vents in the back seat, only have air vents in the front. If the air is on for awhile though the air does circulate well to the back.

The most spacious sedan I have ever owned.
I love the Toyota Camry! It is the most spacious sedan I have ever owned and I have yet to have any car troubles, breakdowns, etc. I have owned this car for 2 years. I bought it at 80,000 miles and it now has over 120,000 miles on it. Every person I have ever talked to that has owned a Toyota says that I should expect it to still be running after 300,000 miles. It is comfortable on long car rides and handles very smoothly. The only problem I have ever had with this car is that I sometimes have trouble with connecting my phone to the radio via Bluetooth as it will sound crackly from time to time but I do not believe this to be something that is characteristic to this make and model. It is also very efficient gas-wise, especially for a full-time college student working part-time. I would highly recommend this car to people and expect to buy the same car (newer year) in the future!

I have experienced no problems with my Camry. This is my 3rd Toyota, and they have all been great. I love how smooth it feels when I am driving. The gas mileage is my most favorite feature, other than the safety aspects. It is the roomiest car I have ever owned, and the quality of the interiors are far beyond that of other newer cars that I have looked into. I love how big my navigation screen is, again I haven't seen any other car of it is type with a screen as big as my current. I like how fast the heat and air work, and the quality of my factory stereo system. The wheels are beautiful in my opinion, and are not cheap looking like some cars I have checked out. I feel I have gotten the most bang for my buck with my Camry!

Can develop issues overtime that are not great but a great overall, reliable car.
The Camry is a great compact car for a small family or anyone really. It is basic, nothing lacking or horrible but also nothing incredible and undeniable. My only issue has been the breaks and the transmission. After 5 or 6 years or so it does not feel as smooth as it used to and the breaks are not as smooth. Then, the transmission started getting spotty at the beginning of this year, so after like a 6-7 year lifespan. And lastly, some minor annoyances rather than dire issues are the volume control, everytime I go to lower the volume it gets louder before it gets quieter and the windows are weird sometimes. But overall you cannot go wrong with this car if you are in need of a reliable, nothing special type car.

Love for Toyota, great dependability, smooth rides.
My car is great on gas, I love how smooth it drives! It has such a sleek look for a good price. I got mine certified used and it still felt brand new. I love Toyota and how they help if anything goes wrong. All my oil changes are done for a great price there.

The Toyota Camry is a perennial contender for the best-selling passenger car in America, and often the winner of the title. Nevertheless, we don't think it's the go-to choice for a family sedan shopper. Why? Because, despite its reputation for reliability and practicality, the Camry just doesn't stand out in any area, from comfort to performance, technology to style. That's not the say the Camry isn't perfectly acceptable in most regards, and even quite good in others--just that it's not better than some of the competition in most respects.Â

Good sound quality. Easy phone features. Very durable.
There has not been any problems with my car since the date of purchase. It is very reliable and has gone through rigorous trips. The comfort of the car is around a 7 out of 10. The features are a bit outdated for its year, it could be better, but it still does the job. I would like it more if the GPS was updated. The sound quality of the car is quite nice, especially the bass. It has Bluetooth connection which is wonderful since I connect my phone all the time. It also allows you to accept and decline calls without having to use your phone and can talk through the car.
