Long lasting car! Great size.

2003 Toyota Highlander Base

This car has been in my family since we bought it in 2003. It was owned by my mom for the first few years. It was then passed down to my brother, and a few years later passed down to me. It is such a great car. We have around 160,000 miles on it right now and its 16 years old. It has been on many road trips. It currently takes trips to and from New Jersey to Vermont still every year to this day. There really isn't too much to complain about. We got the 4 wheel drive and 6 cylinder engine. We have, however, had to do some work on it more recently with it getting so old and taking 6 hour drives up to Vermont. We have had to change a few of the belts and the sensors that set of the check engine light. Specifically, when we turn on the heat or air conditioning, it will set off a loud screech. It will stop screeching when you turn them off, and if the car has been on for a few minutes before you turn it on, this doesn't happen! Also, this seems to be an easy and relatively inexpensive fix, but we've had to fix it twice. Very recently we had to replace the battery, and some other smaller things. Yet, we have never had to do any major work on it, and trust me my brother and I have banged it up a bit for sure. It' still drives on! Great car. It has been through a lot and is very long lasting. It is a perfect size for an active life and has racks on the roof for skis and kayaks and stuff like that. I would definitely recommend this car.

The best SUV I could ask for. Drives well in snow and ice conditions.

2003 Toyota Highlander Base

The driver side window automatic open option is a pain in the butt unless you want your window all the way up or all the way down with one push on the button. No in between stop function. It is a very comfortable car to take road trips in. Does well on gas mileage. So far has been very reliable except for the regular maintenance needing done when I bought it. Only has basic features on the stereo. All in all I am very satisfied with my SUV.

SUV are safe to drive. Can be driven for a long time and still look relevant.

2003 Toyota Highlander Base

Still comfortable and easy to. Drive. The windshield wipers and front bumper need to be changed but besides that, it still good to drive. I want to change for recent models, but the esthetic is not the same. More cup holders for the back seat could be great. Being short, I always feel unsafe driving too close to the wheel (airbags) I hope a system could be. Found for short people.

The size and shape of my car are sleek and spacious.

2003 Toyota Highlander Base

I bought my car used in 2011 and it's a 2003. When I bought the car it was still in perfect condition. I travel with my car from Northern California to Seattle and I have not had an issue. Blue as I call her is really good on gas mileage as well. She is spacious enough to hold 3 car seats as well as strollers and groceries. Super durable and reliable.

Low mileage 03 Highlander

2003 Toyota Highlander Base

Gas mileage is decent. Runs well. Very reliable. Never breaks down. Low mileage. Gas cap lock. Power doors locks and windows. Remote keyless entry. Back seat folds down. Vehicle has a clean title history. No accidents. Well taken care of. Driven rarely as I work from home and only need vehicle for shopping and visiting family.

Love my 2003 Toyota highlander.

2003 Toyota Highlander Base

I absolutely love my 2003 Toyota highlander! It is extremely reliable and drives great. This vehicle has tons of space for passengers and storage and the seats are very comfortable. The only thing I could possibly complain about is the turning radius. Love my car though and I believe it will take me places for years to come.

Constant Maintenance

2003 Toyota Highlander Base

Every 10k miles i have been dumping $1k into this rust bucket. All 02 sensors, water pump, center exhaust, brakes dragging and need cleaning every 7k, rear differential, and more. These are just some of the parts between 70-109 k miles. I have had 3 camrys as well. Japanese design cars are junk

The greatest all-round SUV ever!!

2003 Toyota Highlander Base

Never have problems with it.. has been the most durable, low maintenance vehicle ! With way over 200,000 miles, still going strong. It is comfortable on trips, with great visibility, and reasonable gas mileage. Love the cargo space it affords,, even more when back seats fold forward.

Two thousand three Toyota Highlander

2003 Toyota Highlander Base

Car runs good for the most part. Has a little trouble accelerating and shifting every one in a while. It's a nice and spacious car. Good condition and easy to take care of. Not many problems other than the ones I already listed. Very good on gas mileage and I like the look.

- Breanna J

It is an economical vehicle.

2003 Toyota Highlander Base

My vehicle problems have been mostly on battery issues. It is one of the top rated vehicles for rollover. It is very important to slow down around curves and decrease your speed on windy days. I have also had a/c periods where it just stops working, but hope to fix it soon

Good handling in snow . Low maintenance. Roomy interior.

2003 Toyota Highlander Base

It is very reliable. No major problems, just normal maintenance. Very comfortable easy to drive. I feel very safe in it. I am tall so need a roomy drivers side which this has. Nice cargo space easy access. Back seats fold down easily for move space. It is fun to drive.

Vehicle is very reliable and is very economical.

2003 Toyota Highlander Base

I love my highlander, it has been very reliable, never had any major problems. I maintained it very well and as a result the service is very good. Other vehicle, with later models have failed but my Toyota stands strong. I love it very much. I would buy another one.

The perfect 4 cylinder by Toyota

2003 Toyota Highlander Base

My car runs very well and has a very excellent motor in it the mileage is good and the parts are cheap. I love it being a 4 cylinder. The body is in perfect condition. The parts of motor is easy to get to and parts are always available.Parts cost is very affordable

Lots of room to haul things! I bought a pantry from Pier One.

2003 Toyota Highlander Base

Most reliable well built car I have ever owned. I have had no major issues. My only dislike is that it is a bit bigger than I would prefer but I will keep forever. My mechanic thinks this car will go for many hundreds of thousand miles. He suggested I keep

Leased 2003 Toyota Highlander review

2003 Toyota Highlander Base

gas economy could be better, the shift in gears could be stronger performance is a bit sluggish. Great storage and pull down second seats is very handy. I would have got the hybrid. Need more choices on interior options. Maybe more fold down configurations
