Amazing highlander from Toyota.

This highlander hybrid was purchased recently and was 10 years old when purchased. The 2008 model was my top choice because it was the last year this car was actually made in japan. The motor, style, and interior leather seats are of very high quality. Even down to the stitching on the seats, this model is luxurious. The one downside is that I worry that the hybrid battery will not last long. It can be very expensive to replace. My mechanic told me the average life span is 10 years. Well we're at 10 years. So far it is been great. No problems. Toyota mechanics say they rarely see these hybrids coming in for service. At 10 years old, I do not think I am getting the gas mileage that you'd get from a newer model. I do mostly city driving and can go, at max, about 230 miles on a tank. We've only taken one highway trip so far and I got about 300 miles on a tank. Other than those things, I love this vehicle. The 3rd row seat is small but nice to have in a pinch. I do not personally need it that much. Lots of trunk space. Good looking vehicle. Runs smooth and quiet.

Great family car but trendy enough you still look cool driving it.

I absolutely love my highlander. It has a very smooth ride. Spacious interior with an additional folding 3rd row in the back. All leather seats with heat in front and passenger side. The lift gate has an easy push button or key fob button to open or close. Also has sunroof/moonroof. Plenty of cup holders for every seat including additional cup holder sections in every door. Individual temperature controls. Sliding lighted vanity mirrors in sun visors. V8 engine loss of power. Great family car but has a sharp sporty look. I get a lot of compliments on it. Most people can't believe it's a 2008 model. The only problem I have had with it is the drain tubes to the sunroof became clogged once and when it rained it drained into my floor board. Luckily my husband is a mechanic and knew what the problem was it was an easy fix. Other than that it has been the most reliable vehicle I've owned its 11 years old and drives as well as the day I got it. No major issues. Just regular maintenance.

Toyota really does equal reliability.

I love my car. I have never had any problems except the standard problems. But after 10 years it is complete expected. It is great and smooth to drive and so comfortable. I constantly get compliments on how comfortable and roomy it is inside. You can fit up to 7 people but the back row is a little cramped, so it has to be smaller people. And the only problem with that is that you lose the trunk space. Which is the best! I have fit so many things back there that I am usually the first person anyone calls when they need to move something. My car is also great for road trips, which I have taken many of. There is nothing I do not like about this car. And being a Toyota makes it even more reliable to me. The mileage is also great for a bigger car. You need this car if you enjoy comfort, style, and space.

The most important thing about the Toyota highlander is the 3rd row seating.

I recently took my Toyota highlander for across country drive. There is so much room with the three row seating in the Toyota, that the 12 hour drive was not uncomfortable at all. The Toyota was able to keep up with the other cars on the highway with a speed of 75 to 80 mph. There was no shake in the front end or in the steering wheel. I have had this car for 3 months now and I have taken it on 2 long trips. The first one was 500 miles long and the 2nd one was 800 miles long. The Toyota was extremely reliable for both of those trips. I did not have any problems at all. The only issue I have with my highlander at the moment is there is a leak in the roof rake that is leaking behind the front seats. I will be happy when that is fixed.

My Highlander is 11 years old, but people still think it's new.

I own a Toyota Highlander Limited 2008. The only problem we tend to have with it is the a/c. It has a leak. We need to get it fixed, but for now we are charging it. Performance is top-notch. Easy to park. It has a nice growl when revving the engine. My highlander has never left me stranded. It has never needed extensive repairs beyond basic maintenance. The highlander is super comfortable. Has leather seats with adjustable back support. We have driven 13-14 hours and have only had normal stiffness. The highlander features a full rear view camera, DVD player and GPS updated by CD.

Toyota highlander highlights.

I haven't had any problems with this vehicle. We get regular maintenance done. It performs well. I love that it has 4 wheel drive in the winter. It handles well in the snow but I have the option to use the 4wd if the roads are particularly bad. No problems with reliability, just make sure you set the interior lights correctly so the battery does not die. Only issue with comfort is the seats. They are a bad fit for my lower back, hips and tailbone because they have a slight bucket shape and put my knees above my hips when sitting.

- Kathy P

Great reliable vehicle. Runs wonderfully and is very spacious.

We have been really pleased with our Toyota highlander. We really like how comfortable it is. We have always been able to rely upon out car and have not had to do much maintenance on it besides the regular check up needed. I have enjoyed how much space that I have. Because of the space, it is a great smaller family vehicle. The year of my highlander is a 2008, so we have had some problems with the brakes and rusting issues, but other than those minor problems, we have really liked our experience with our car.

- Allison C

overall great quality vehicle

The transmission had to be replaced at 100,000 miles. Other than that, it has been a reliable vehicle. My wife does not like the passenger seat. She says it is uncomfortable. The moon roof not working properly about 5 years ago. Overall, I believe Toyota makes a high standard vehicle. We own another Toyota (2008 Prius) which has also been very reliable. No problems with that vehicle either. Have never had the brakes replaced and have over 150000 miles.

Highlander limited is a solid car, adaptable and fun to drive anywhere!

The Toyota highlander is extremely versatile and that it allows me to transport passengers and cargo easily. This s uv is a pleasure and fun to drive safe and reliable. Some of my favorite features about this s over the heated seats the backup camera and the suspension. The only thing that I would change would be the size of the tires which are extremely expensive to replace. That is not enough however for me to give this SUV a solid 10!

- Lee A

Toyota Highlander 2008, one of the best vehicles over ever owned.

Very reliable, has had minimal problems, in the time we have had it we've had to replace the battery, and besides regular maintenance of oil changes and tire rotation it has been a great car. It is very comfortable, we've taken it on several long distance road trips and found it to be enjoyable and a smooth ride. Our kids fit easily into the back row, this includes two car seats. The trunk is very spacious. One of my favorite features!

- Rach C

2008 Toyota highlander still going strong.

My Toyota highlander has been very reliable. No mechanical issues. Regular maintenance of breaks etc. I regularly change the oil. I have cloth seats and they are very comfortable and have held up well (2008 model). The only issue I had early on was difficulty finding tires to fit the rims and they were expensive. Now I am able to find tires more easily and more reasonably priced. The turning radius is not great on this older model.

Pre Owned Toyota highlander.

Originally, the highlander I drive was my mother's car. However, it is a great family car and great it you have an active lifestyle because of the room the back offers. My family has been using this car for family trips since we bought it, preowned I might add. It always fits our luggage and safely gets us where we need to go. However, as a full time student working few hours, gas does get pricey with the current gas prices.

- Mikayla R

That it is your typical Toyota vehicle: dependable, comfortable, perfect.

Great reliability, performance, decent gas mileage, comfortable! I have always loved Toyota trucks, but this is my first SUV! Plenty of cargo space, leg room, etc. Just a great choice for us!! As far as dislikes, i can honestly say, i have none. I have no complaints and i would recommend this exact vehicle to anyone looking for a dependable, sturdy, roomy SUV sedan that is safe, and comfortable for the whole family.

- Ana P

Toyota highlanders are great!

I truly love my highlander. It drives like a car but has the room of a mini van with the third row. The only negative is when the third row is up there is very little storage room behind the seats. Other than that it is a great vehicle. Easy to get in and out of, plenty of room for a family of 5. Acceleration is great, handles well in rain and snow, and gas mileage is. Pretty good for a v6 SUV.

- Casey M

Toyota makes a quality vehicle. They are built to last.

This was the perfect vehicle for my family. It is able to accommodate my family and have room for luggage or additional family or friends. The one thing that I do not like it some item in the interior are made of cheap plastic, like the arm rests. It was not long after we purchased it that they broke internally. The outside is fine, but when you feel it you can tell it is broke.

- Brian F

The 2008 Toyota highlander is a safe and spacious car perfect for families.

The Toyota highlander is a very safe and fuel efficient car. It is perfect for families and very spacious. The brake are very reliable and it is it's a long lasting car if kept up with maintenance. However the 2008 model does not have Bluetooth but it does have an aux cord. The first middle section of seats has adjustable middle seat which can be switched from cup holder to a seat.

- Andy M

I love my limited edition highlander!

I love my Toyota highlander. I haven't had any major issues since I bought it in 2008. I keep up with the regular scheduled maintenance and she's treated me very well. My favorite things about the SUV are the sunroof, the roomy interior, and the get-up-and-go it has. It has a lot of power when I need to merge onto the highway so I feel very safe driving in daily traffic like I do.

- Lisa G

You get dependability with a Toyota. It breaks down less and gets decent gas mileage.

I like the dependability of my Toyota; it is not my first Toyota. It runs well and only needs regular maintenance. What I don't like about it: When I purchased this vehicle used, I was told that it has 4 wheel drive, which it doesn't. The front wheel drive is terrible; skids often. The CD player skips cds, so I can't use it. And one of the charging ports doesn't work well.

- Meghan A

I love the color of my blue Highlander.

I like my Toyota. I do not care for the push button start feature but it has been a reliable and dependable car for me. It has over 100, 00 miles on it and it still going strong. It is comfortable. We often use the third row seating but when we are not using it we have it folded down as there is not a lot of storage space in the back when using the third row seating.

- Rebecca W

The handling is wonderful. It has over 100,000 miles yet still runs great.

I like the fact that the third row can go up or down. I like that it has 7 seats. I like that it sits higher than a car.. However, I dislike that the middle seat in the 2nd row is so narrow. I also dislike that the 3rd row either goes all up or all down, I cannot put just 1 seat up. I also do not like that there is very little storage when the 3rd row seat it up..

- Lori W

Are highlanders really that great?

The paint is coming off in many parts of the vehicle due to soon damage and the interior has thorns like in the seats and in the floor. Some parts from the exterior are coming apart. I have been the only owner and have taken care of it but the quality of the inside material is not great, it is very delicate. I have it detailed from the inside at least once a year.

- Daisy H

Absolutely Love the Highlander

This is my 3rd highlander. It's a great size, comfortable and reliable. Gas mileage is not too bad for a larger vehicle. It has a lot of nice features like heated front seats, audio on the steering wheel and multi zone heat/AC. The wheels look great as they are 19' but they are pricey to replace, especially that with the AWD you have to replace all 4 at once.

- Dawn A

Great size for transporting things. I have moved in the car and taken big loads places. It is really nice.

I like a lot about it, it is a good size and I like that I can transport a lot. I also feel safe in it because it is bigger and I like that I feel like I could drive on most roads. I don't like that my doors close on me without me closing them, if that makes sense. I do wish the gas mileage was better but overall like the car. Would probably buy it again

- Becca S

Good vehicle for smaller families.

The 2008 Toyota Highlander is a reliable vehicle with standard gas mileage for a small SUV. We enjoy the options to fold down the third row seats and remove the second row middle seat. However, it is very compact and is difficult to fit a large family in this vehicle and still have any room to load anything in the back without folding down the third row.

- Nicole G

Details about my highlander that my family and I love!

It is a White highlander and it has 3rd row and has wonderful room for the size of my family. I have love it and the ride feels smooth when you drive. Oil changed regularly and any maintenance is taken care of straight away. There was an alternator issue but it was replaced and it took care of it. My kids love it also because there is a DVD player in it.

- Stacy W

Space, storage, comfortable.

My car comfortably fits my family of 5. When I had 3 kids all under 2, I needed space and flexibility. Now that my kids are older, we have the option to spread them out among 3 rows, or keep them together in 2 rows, providing plenty of storage for sports, camping, or even carpooling their friends. My car has been running well for 150,000 miles!

- Melissa E

This SUV is great to drive in the City, as well as for Road trips.

Living in Colorado an All-wheel drive vehicle/ -SUV is a must. The Toyota Highlander is big enough for family travel, but small enough to fit in regular parking spot. I love to see well ahead of me when driving. My SUV has third row seating and I can fit 7 people in my car. Or I can put the seats down to extend my trunk to load bigger items.

- Ulrike D

Dependable, reliable and an overall safe and fun car to own!

This Toyota highlander SUV is extremely dependable, reliable, easy to handle and performs very well in all types of weather conditions. My wife and I feel very safe with this particular vehicle with our two very young children. The gas mileage is reasonable. Great folding seats fits even more passengers in the far back of the SUV also.

- Michael J

The Toyota highlander hybrid.

The car is beautiful! Roomy, very reliable, good gas mileage for an SUV, and very comfortable! Only downfall would be the hybrid battery. It is quite expensive to fix. This is my first and last hybrid. I have had some issues with the battery, including a $2500 breakdown. . But my next vehicle will be a newer (non hybrid) highlander!

- Sarah B

Roomy, comfortable and great to drive.

Great to drive. Handles really well in snow and mountain driving. But not good for 4wd because it has a low clearance. It is very roomy with lot of storage space. Also has a third row of seats, so it can safely and comfortably seat 8 people. Gas mileage is not bad, especially considering it is one of the heaviest SUVs out there.

- Jessica B

Spacious SUV with a sporty look.

This vehicle has been a game changer. The backup camera allows us to check if there are any children behind us before leaving a parking lot, and the amount of space gives us ample room to lug all of our camping gear for weekend trips. We wish the SUV got more miles to the gallon, but the bells and whistles make up for it:).

- Jess S

Best and worst of Toyota highlander.

It is very comfortable, which is why I bought it as I was doing long trips for business at the time. I am not in love with it overall, it feels very standard in aesthetics. It has 3 rows of seats which I thought I would really use, but haven't, but the 3rd row folds down and allows for lots of cargo room, good for my dogs.

- Marissa F

It has enormous space to pack luggage in the trunk.

Brakes are a little hard. Overall the car has good mileage and is efficient. It also is very easy to clean interior because it has leather seating. The steering wheel is easy to maneuver. It also has a GPS navigation system that tells you nearby food and gas when you are on the road. The seats are easy to put forward.

- Yasmin N

The highlander 2008 pros and cons

The Toyota Highlander only problems I had with my car was that it was a gas drinker you had to put more than $10 in the tank just for it to move I would hate it if I was stuck on the side of the road because it won't move unless it's double that gas. Other than that it's a great car to have seats are very comfortable

- Destiny B

Very reliable long lasting family car.

Really good and reliable vehicle. Been over 1 years and still no problem with machine. Only thing is I wish the hybrid battery would charge more, it only holds a little bit I can only drive less than 5 minutes with the battery. The performance is good still, nice features inside and outside, backup camera is a plus.

- Karin O

Great vehicle for urban or rural driving conditions.

Performs well under all conditions, very comfortable for a short person and helps me to see down the road further than a sedan. I have had very few service problems. I would consider purchasing another Highlander in the future. You can easily and comfortably carry 4 adult passengers and luggage for a 4 day trip.

- Karen S

It is full of technology, wishing other Toyotas offered as much as the Highlander.

I am a loyal Toyota fan so it's no surprise that I would own a Highlander. I love the gas milage and the third row the best. Not as pleased with the newer models, but will most likely purchase another Toyota, possible a four runner, but disappointed that the hatch doesn't have a button to open it.

- lisa w

Very dependable and roomy

I bought it used in 2016 and it's been awesome! I needed a car that held more people so all my grandkids would fit. I only buy Toyota! I had a Toyota Matrix that held 5 bit with me and my husband and 4 grandkids I needed more room. I haven't had any mechanical issues other than normal wear and tear.

- Sheila R

Great for hauling around a family, and provides flexibility with the third row that folds down.

It has 146,000 miles on it and it's still going strong. I bought it because I knew it would be reliable. I'm also comfortable in it and enjoy driving it. It has an third row that can be folded down. When it's in use, it pretty much eliminates the trunk of the vehicle, which is a bit of a bummer.

- Sheryl H

Great, dependable vehicle

Extremely reliable. Only had one problem with it in 11 years. The air conditioning went out, but living in a hot climate, that's understandable. I intend to purchase another vehicle of the same make. Toyota traditionally makes dependable cars with great resale value, and my vehicle has proven that.

- Logan S

My ten dogs and I love it!

I love my highlander! It has been reliable, comfortable, and meets my needs well! It is had a few recalls and Toyota has fixed all for free. It was a mild inconvenience to take to shop but considering the issues my friends have had with their vehicles I feel very blessed! Will always but Toyota!

- Ann A

Great car, minor improvements.

Had issues with the tires, rear view mirror fell off, very comfortable on long rides, spacious second seat, third row seats cramped, large trunk space, have not had any real engine problems, paint does peel easy when rocks hit the front, some louder noises within car while driving, smooth ride.

- Kelsey O

Easy to maneuver and great for outdoors.

I love how spacious and dependable my car is. The seats can be converted in various ways. The backup cam is useful and accurate. The moment an item was recalled on my car I had a refund following a little bit of paperwork. I take my car into the mountains and it is dependable in the snow!

- Carolyn A

It is a stow and go. It rides nice. I like all the room in it.

I like the power of this vehicle when driving up to the mountains. I also like that this vehicle has been very reliable and gets better gas mileage due to the hybrid battery. I do not like that the life of the hybrid battery will eventually give out and the replacement cost is expensive.

- Dolia S

Toyotas for the whole family.

Toyota highlander is extremely reliable and sturdy long-term. My 2008 has 210, 000 and still runs with minimal problems ever. Toyota as a company does an amazing job with quality and dependability, I will definitely buy another Toyota in the future. In my family of 5 we all own Toyotas.

- Abigail W

Great running car Smooth driving Not to big but super spacious

The body is made cheap so anything ruins it. It's a good running car. I've only put a max of 500 into it. Also I love cloth seats. You can get anything cleaned off of them literally. Except the carpet everything gets smashed into my floor. That's the hardest place to clean stuff off of.

- Rachael G

It is reliable and trustworthy and fun to drive.

I love my Toyota highlander and don't want to get rid of it. I will drive it until it completely dies on me. The only issue I have had with it is that the battery drains fairly quickly (one year) so I have had it replaced a few times. I have heard this is a problem with all highlanders.

- Elizabeth J

Love our Toyota highlander.

We have only had this car a few months but I absolutely love it so far. We bought it with quite a few miles but have no fear it will last for us. It is the perfect size and is a very comfortable ride. We have owned a Toyota before and it was very reliable, would definitely buy another.

- Riley O

Great car for the family! Just awesome!

I love my Toyota highlander! Knock on wood, I have never had any service problems with the car. I get oil changes every 5 thousand miles and have never had any major issues. Replaced brakes, tires and an oxygen sensor over the past 10 years. I hope this car runs for another 10 years!!

- Jamie B

It is a very reliable, sturdy car.

My paint is starting to peel, in the past 3 years I have had to replace a water pump and evaporator both of which cost me 1200-1700 to repair at the dealership. I would say it is holding up pretty well, just your normal wear and tear problems. Dependable car, just expensive to repair.

- Katie B

Versatile and Reliable Vehicle

HAs been a reliable vehicle for many years, has not had any major problems, great though the winter, in the snow. I would recommend to a friend looking to buy a new car. Fits equipment on the top and inside, perfect for commuting or mild off roading to go into the outdoors.

- Olivia B

Great car for a reasonable price that is dependable.

It is comfortable driving and has plenty of room to carry 7 or 5 with luggage. I've had it for over 150k miles and have kept up with maintenance. I would definitely buy a newer version when the time is right. Keep up with maintenance and the Highlander should last a long time.

- Chris R

Definitely worth the money

Very reliable vehicle. Regular maintenance is all it needs. Would highly recommend to any buyers looking for a reliable vehicle that will last quite some time. The car definitely could use an option for a smoother suspension. I would recommend that the vehicle outside of that.

- Corbin R

Safe highlander, there can only be one!

It is has plenary of room for me and my family. It has decent gas mileage, good pick up, and drives at a comfortable speed for my needs. It has plenty of room to transport what I need and above all has a high safety rating which is great when I am transport daughter around.

- Brandon L

Great vehicle. Lasts forever.

Just keep up with maintenance. My vehicle has almost 250,000 miles. It still runs wonderfully. But I wish I'd have followed the maintenance program from the book. I'm just now starting to replace all original hose gadgets etc from the engine. Toyota is a reliable vehicle

- Carolina T

To sum it all up, the car is just old.

Expensive on gas, the car doesn't run smoothly, the volume knob inside the car is broken, doesn't offer Bluetooth, fan belt makes a squeaking noise as well as the brakes. Uncomfortable to drive because you can feel everything, back right window won't go down or up.

- Zara F

Extremely safe, comfortable and easy to drive, gets great gas mileage.

I love the way it looks. The steering is exceptional and it handles so nice. The interior is spacious and so comfortable. The audio is wonderful and I love to drive it. It gets great gas mileage and is dependable and safe! Airbags everywhere. Love my Highlander!

- Branda M

Go high places with the Highlander

Excellent vehicle. Reliable, smooth ride, drives like a dream. Great for trips & shopping, cozy, roomy. Great for long car rides. Great family vehicle, kids love it, holds a lot of packages in hatchback. Can put backseat down. Love it. Highly recommend it

- Bonnie S

Perfect vehicle to travel long distances.

This vehicle is amazing I love it, it is super comfortable, especially if you love to drive long distances. I drove this car to travel from Florida to Canada and back from Canada to Florida and also is good saver in gas. I really recommend this car to others.

- Nubia M

Sporty safe lots of room.

Love it big roomy comfortable. Blue wide family. Safe travels and have a great day. Family and friends are coming to see. Features of the vehicle is still available. Rated for best results of your life. Sporty and fun to be around and get back with the kids

- Monica D

Loaded Highlander. Seats 7. Getting in the rear seat is best for children vs. adults. Fantastic stereo system, GPS is reliable and easy to handle while being comfortable to all passengers.

Experienced oil cooler pipe problem ($800 repair), Front Window regulators replaced - problems going up and down, drivers seat leather torn at seam. Presently has almost 170K. Overall has been a reliable vehicle. Just wish the leather was better quality.

- Debra M

It is a Toyota and should last a long time.

It is a very smooth ride. It gets good gas mileage. It is also a good fit coming down from a suburban, but still having that SUV feel. I have found no problems with this type of automobile. I love the keyless start button and the sizable space in the back.

- Gina S

The space and colors given make it stand out amongst my friends.

I really enjoy the room that I am given as a driver and my family is very fond of the space as well. I love the small pieces of wood that help the car feel more comfortable. I have not had a breakdown ever in the car and am grateful for its durability.

- Michael S

Most reliable and dependable car I have had.

I love my vehicle. It has been highly reliable. Never any significant mechanical issues. It has a leather interior which has been great for my messy kids. It is a smooth ride and not a gas hog. I would stick with this brand and style for years to come.

- Ashton C

Reliable, comfortable, nice to drive with decent gas mileage

Super reliable car since it's a Toyota. We use third row seating which is great for an SUV (vs minivan), unfortunately there isn't much trunk space at all when the seat's up. Decent gas mileage, no bells or whistles, but nice display and console.

- Christine J

2008 limited Toyota Highlander. A great vehicle for a growing family that stands up to the test of time.

I own a 2008 limited Toyota Highlander. It has been a wonderful vehicle for me and my family. I currently have 80,000 miles on it and only have ever had one issue with it when I had to replace the water pump. Would highly recommend this vehicle.

- Trey A

It's a hybrid SUV, so it's more fuel efficient than most SUVs, but it also has a 6-cylinder engine, so it's peppy!

I love the size, the features, and the performance. It is a hybrid vehicle, so I thought I'd get better gas mileage than I do (somewhat disappointed). It has really large blind spots, which I don't like, it's difficult to see pedestrians!

- Shannon H

It is a good looking, black, limited edition Highland with running boards and chrome details

I really enjoy my Highlander Hybrid! It is comfortable, fits my family members, and gets decent highway mileage. Downside is I spend a lot of time sitting in traffic, where my particular vehicle does not do so well with gas mileage.

- Samantha S

Safe, reliable, and affordable.

Excellent car, great visibility, good gas mileage. Have only had to do routine maintenance, replace brakes, tires, and original battery in 5 years I have owned it. I have never broken down on the side of the road.

- L S

One of the great things about this car is the DVD player for the back row. It provide excellent entertainment for kids!

It is a great car for many reasons. First of all it is great on gas AND it is a hybrid, so it also helps the environment. It is also 10 years old and works great. Finally, it is stylish and has a sleek design.

- Richard B

Comfortable, roomy and third row seating that folds down.

I really like my Toyota highlander. The only thing I really do not like about it is the push button start. Other than that, it is comfortable an just the right size for my family. It does well in the weather.

- Rebecca W

It is safe, reliable, and family friendly. Also trendy.

I love that it can fit my 3 carseats in the middle and still have seating in the back. It is roomy for 6 passengers. I have had issues with tires staying pumped. However, that could be from the tire place.

- Sarah J

Toyota vehicles last a long time.

I like my vehicle because it is a decent size SUV. It has lasted 10 years and it's going strong. The engine has not given me any troubles and I only do a regular oil change without any other service.

- Bob V

This SUV has heated seats, plenty of storage, and loads of room, including a third row seat.

It's a limited edition, so that is a plus. I love the heated seats, although I wish the heat went all over and not just the bottom. I love the Toyota brand, so there's not much to complain about.

- Nikki S

It's my favorite car that i have ever owned (and there have been a few).

I love my car. It is comfortable, reliable, safe and, as it is a hybrid, gets decent gas mileage. I only wish it had cloth seats instead of leather. Otherwise, I wouldn't change anything.

- Lori D

It has required very little maintenance to date other than regular oil changes.

My Toyota highlander sport has been reliable, comfortable and an easy vehicle to maintain. My hope is to purchase another however the cost is a bit prohibitive given my current budget.

- Michelle D

Great midsize SUV for a family.

I love the pop up 3rd row seating. I also appreciate that it gets decent gas mileage, and handles okay in the snow. It wasn't as good in snow drifts as i'd hoped but better than a car!

- Erika D

It's reliable. There are very few problems/incidents that require service other than routine maintenance.

I love my vehicle overall. I've had very few problems and it is holding up well for it's age. When I buy another vehicle it will most likely be a newer model of what I already have.

- Annie M

It is a very strong and reliable car.

It has a really strong engine, is very dependable and was a good car to learn to drive in. It also always fits everything we need and the second row made it very good for carpooling.

- Claire T

Our car makes me feel more safe and secure during the winter months.

I especially like that it has all wheel drive because we have quite a bit of snow and ice each year, so it makes me feel safer. I do, however, wish that it got better mileage.

- Susan G

Very reliable, does not break down

I like the fact that it is pretty gas efficient. It has space for seven passengers, something that is important to me. I wish it had more cargo space when all seats are in use

- Maria F

Runs like new even at 163,000 miles. As long as I change the oil when I am supposed to, and do the required regular maintenance of tires, belts, I have had no issues.

I love my Toyota. It is very dependable, rides great, and has lots of room. If I get another vehicle, it will be a Toyota Highlander. The service dept I use is phenomenal.

- Cheri P

It has been relatively problem free.

Dependable, comfortable, high enough to get through minor flood waters with all of my pets, but still easy to enter. The only thing I do not like is that it is getting older.

- Diane B

High safety standards. Reliable. good on gas for the most part. comfortable and lots of legroom

my highlander has been the best vehicle ever. It is reliable, safe, and was a great deal! I just put over 100,000 miles on it and it is still running strong like day one.

- rebecca l

This vehicle has been incredible. We have put 100,000 miles on it in the last 9 years and have had almost no problems with it. The only problem we have encountered was due to a recall. Once that was resolved, it was clear sailing.

Incredible car that has held its value. It has been through several moves across multiple states. It has great trunk space and great room for the kids. It's a fantastic car

- Diana H

It is a sturdy car which can be used for road trips.

It is pretty sturdy and lasts for a long time. However, it has low mpg and is not very environmentally friendly. It is pretty affordable and good to drive for road trips.

- janet M

the car drives very smoothly and has very little blind spots

Love the smoothness of the ride. Love that the back hatch opens. The third row doesn't have a lot of space and when the third row is up there is about no space for storage.

- Kara K

Toyotas are very reliable.

Like-Toyota! Fits all of us. Nice cargo and amenities. Also hybrid so better gas considering it is an 8 passenger 4 wheel drive SUV. Only dislike is back up camera sucks.

- Kimberly K

- Andrea J

Love Toyota, especially Highlander

it makes me feel very safe, is reliable and very comfortable. The gas mileage is not terrific. I have not had any problems with it, even though it is 10 years old.

- Karen P

you can get to the third row without climbing over the middle row!! this is unusual. There is an 'aisle" like in a minivan

I picked out a used highlander specifically when shopping for our used car a few years ago. I love the third row, all wheel drive, and middle row pilot seats

- Jenna T

Reliability and resale value. As long as you keep up schedule maintenance it will last 300000 miles

I love this car I perform regular Scheduled maintenance and it runs great. I had my last one for 240000 miles. I only got this one for a few years upgrade

- Carl S

How safe it is and great to ride in as well as drive.

I feel safe in my SUV.. I hate putting gas in it! Even though it's a gas hog, I love it. The inside is leather, and it is great for my grandkids.

- Judy T

Although it is described as 4WD by Toyota, it has no off-road capability. It's really more accurately described as All Wheel Drive (AWD)

I like the ride comfort, performance, ergonomics and amenities. I wish the gas mileage was better and the 3rd row seating was more comfortable.

- William m

Cams had to be replaced way too soon. Very disappointed that had to put so much money in it so soon.

I like the vehicle but have had to replace the cams in the motor. 1st one was right after warranty expired, 2nd one was less than a year later.

- Stephanie h

Hybrid battery has a shelf life.

I like the gas efficiency, size, outdoor abilities, comfort, ease of driving. I do not like that if a hybrid battery dies the car is worthless.

- Olivia T

It does have an alarm and a track on it so you can locate it if it goes missing.

Love the comfort, 3rd row seating option, and heated seats. I wish the rear video screen was larger and that it had better gas mileage.

It has a third row seat and can switch out the middle row for bench seats or console.

I like the roominess and that it is larger than other cars. It has a great engine and runs smoothly. I like the body style and color.

- Bonnie b

I love the cubby holes that the highlander provides.

It really needs a third row seat. More seat adjustments and maybe more lower back support in the front seats (blow up lower portion).

- Pamela C

I have had this car for ten years and plan to keep it another ten as she is the most reliable car I have ever owned.

Comfortable bucket seats in front and back, roomy, plenty of cargo space, handles beautifully in snow, easy to get in and out of.

My SUV is the perfect size. It's a hybrid, so is good for the environment and offers good mileage. It rides like a dream.

The side mirrors are large and can interfere with seeing other cars when turning, especially the one on the drivers side

- Lisa S

My engine just hit 180,000 miles and it's still running perfectly.

I love the gas mileage, how many seats it has and the ease to drive it. . Complaints are how the back seat folds down.

Best car I've ever owned. No issues at all. Reliable, dependable, fun to drive, good design, would buy again

- Jere A

We bought our Highlander mostly for the third row capacity. Having the third row option has been amazing to either transport more people than I usually have or for laying down and having extra cargo area. The legroom for both the front and back seats is great, especially with a six foot tall teenager in the back. The 4 wheel drive has been amazing when we've gone on vacation. It makes getting up and down mountain roads much easier. It has required minimal service and has great gas mileage considering it's a 2008 SUV.

The third row seat is amazing and this car has great space without being overpoweringly huge on the outside.

- Jessica D

This car is very reliable. It's needed work twice in ten years and both were reasonable. The car also has 170,000 miles and drives like it's brand new.

I love the spaciousness of the inside. It is perfect for a family of 4. The trunk pace is huge but doesn't make the truck seem too big. the captain chairs are amazing when having two boys who can't stand to touch each other in the back seat.

Size of an SUV but drives more like a car which is helpful for someone transitioning into a suv.
