I love that it is small, I can move the car even with no power to the car at all.

When I got it, there was some issues and I couldn't find where it was coming from without the manual. For example finding the fuse boxes on the car was really hard and getting to the one inside the car is still hard. Placing them where everyone can get to it would make things easier. Also the manual wasn't easy to read as well. Maybe if the print was bigger it would be easier.

104,00 miles and still going strong

I have used my car for work, and leisure travel, and have always felt confident in its performance. I am the original owner and with routine maintenance my car has kept me on the road for the last 16 years. Besides regular wear and tear there have not been any major issues. It has had issues with the oxygen sensor in cold weather but that resolved with cleaning.

Love that it has a hatch back as well as material seats for the summer time.

Long lasting car for the past 15 years, have not had any major issues with it besides routine maintenance. Has almost 200,000 miles on it and still running strong. One issue I have found that there are small cracks on the plastic headlight encasing so it makes the light not shine through so bright which is something that needs to be replaced soon.

Safety Recalls (4)

Air Bags Jan 30, 2013
Report Receipt Date:
Jan 30, 2013
NHTSA Campaign:
13V029000
Summary:
Toyota is recalling certain model year 2003-2004 Corolla and Corolla Matrix vehicles and 2003-2004 Pontiac Vibe vehicles. The supplemental restraint system (SRS) circuits are susceptible to internal shorting. The electrical short may create an abnormal current flow and increased heat which can damage the circuits. This could result in an inadvertent deployment of the front airbags and/or seat belt pretensioners.
Consequence:
Inadvertent deployment of the airbags or the seat belt pretensioners may increase the risk of injury and the possibility of a vehicle crash.
Remedy:
Toyota will notify their owners, and General Motors will notify theirs. Dealers will install a supplemental harness containing an electrical filter between the airbag control module and its wire harness, free of charge. The recall began on March 13, 2013. For more information, Toyota owners may call 1-800-331-4331 and Pontiac owners may call 1-800-620-7668.
Air Bags Jun 11, 2014
Report Receipt Date:
Jun 11, 2014
NHTSA Campaign:
14V312000
Summary:
Toyota Motor Engineering and Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain model year 2002-2004 Toyota Sequoia and Lexus SC and 2003-2004 Toyota Corolla, Corolla Matrix, Tundra, and Pontiac Vibe vehicles to address a safety defect in the passenger side frontal air bag inflator which may produce excessive internal pressure causing the inflator to rupture upon deployment of the air bag. This recall addresses both the passenger side frontal air bags that were originally installed in the vehicles, as well as replacement air bags that may have been installed as replacement service parts. A replacement air bag may have been installed, as one example, if a vehicle had been in a crash necessitating the replacement of the passenger side frontal air bag.
Consequence:
In the event of a crash necessitating deployment of the front passenger's frontal air bag, the inflator could rupture with metal fragments striking and potentially seriously injuring the passenger seat occupant or other occupants.
Remedy:
Toyota will notify owners of affected Toyota and Lexus vehicles and General Motors will notify owners of affected Pontiac Vibe vehicles. Toyota, Lexus, and GM dealers will replace the passenger side air bag inflator, free of charge. The manufacturer has not yet provided a notification schedule. Owners may contact Toyota customer service at 1-800-331-4331. Pontiac Vibe owners may contact GM at 1-800-521-7300. IMPORTANT NOTE: This recall supersedes recall 13V-133 in which some vehicles were inspected and received a replacement inflator, while others were inspected but did not have their inflator replaced. All owners of vehicles that did not get an inflator replacement, or owners that do not know if they got an inflator replacement, should contact their Toyota or Lexus dealer.
Air Bags Jan 28, 2015
Report Receipt Date:
Jan 28, 2015
NHTSA Campaign:
15V043000
Summary:
Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain model year 2003-2004 Toyota Corolla vehicles manufactured December 28, 2001, to May 2, 2004, 2003-2004 Toyota Corolla Matrix vehicles manufactured January 6, 2002, to April 29, 2004, 2003-2004 Avalon vehicles manufactured June 5, 2002, to December 20, 2004, and 2003-2004 Pontiac Vibe vehicles manufactured January 18, 2002, to April 27, 2004. Due to electrical noise, a component in the air bag control module may fail, causing the front air bags, side air bags, and/or seatbelt pretensioners to deploy inadvertently while the vehicle is being operated.
Consequence:
Inadvertent deployment of the air bags or the seat belt pretensioners increases the risk of an injury or crash.
Remedy:
Toyota will notify their owners. Pontiac Vibe owners will be notified by GM. Dealers will replace the air bag control module, free of charge. These parts are not currently available, however, an interim repair is available, free of charge, that reduces the risk of an inadvertent deployment. This recall remedy was applied during earlier recall campaigns of these vehicles under safety recalls 13V-029 and 14V-147. All owners that have not had a recall repair performed under safety recalls 13V-029 or 14V-147 are strongly encouraged to have it performed and not wait for the final remedy to be deployed to the field. The replacement ECU parts needed for the final remedy are not expected to be available until the latter part of 2015. Owners will be mailed an interim notification in late March 2015 and will be mailed a follow up notification when new air bag control modules are available. Toyota owners may contact Toyota customer service at 1-800-331-4331. Pontiac owners may call 1-800-620-7...
