Reliable, and just the right size.
Very reliable. Never had a problem with this car not starting. Also have never had a problem with it breaking down. Comfortable and compact, yet big enough to fit everything I need. If you maintain this car with regular oil changes and regular maintenance, it will serve you well for years. Also is good on gas, fill up about once a week (unless I drive further than usual).

Silver spur Toyota matrix
Toyota matrix is very reliable. Have went over 9000 miles with it while doing home health care with having the vehicle a matter of 8 months and have not had any problems with it this far. Gas mileage is very can I can put 20 dollars in a week and have a full tank. Very comfortable vehicle, trays on the backs of front seats to eat meals.

That it is great to drive around with and that it handles really well.
It is a nice looking car with comfortable seats. The handling is also really good. Only issue is the brakes are a bit iffy.

Very reliable and great gas mileage.
My vehicle is super reliable, hardly break down( actually never did since 2011), and always great gas mileage, I highly recommend this car. Only problem I had was they recall the air back defect, so I need to go to the dealer and fix the air back. Of course they fix it for free of charge. Too bad they do not make this model anymore.

Great mileage long lasting car.
I have been driving this car since 2011, I never had any problems, great gas mileage, cute style what I exactly love it. Only thing was they had recall on airbag, so I had to bring my car to the dealership and have it fix. Of course they didn't charge me anything.

The perfect size and can withstand the winter of the north.
My vehicle is small but it never feels like a small car. There is space in the interior that does not make me feel closed in. I love how the car maneuvers in the city and out on dirt roads. The seats are comfortable for long distance trips. I also love this car's ability to warm up in five min.

Reliable after ten years!
I love it! It is incredibly reliable and I get great gas mileage. It is a little slow to warm up, but that is not a huge issue. After nearly ten years of use, it runs perfectly, very smoothly. It does not have any fancy features - I’d love to have like, seat warmers - but honestly, for the fact that they do not make matrixes anymore, it is incredibly reliable, smooth driving, and shifts well.

It's like that energizer bunny - just keeps going and going.
This vehicle was purchased new - DID NOT LIKE THE DEALER - very little was spent on maintenance (other then routine) and it now has over 200,000 miles and is still going strong.

It's cheap to,maintain and is just basic transportation. Nothing fancy or extravagant
I like the size of it.i do not like the visibility.it can be difficult to see around the door posts on the drivers side. The rear visibility when backing up,is also, very bad. But it runs well and is very easy to drive.

Basic reliable transportation.
Very reliable engine which is typical for Toyota but trim and fit quality is poor. Three out of four wheel covers became disconnected and are gone forever. Needed to buy set of four aftermarket replacements. They lack the Toyota logo but are considerably cheaper than buying from Toyota dealer. All four plastic door handles have broken. This car is not garaged so exposure to sun has leached out the plasticizers making the handles brittle.

I would say the most interesting thing is that it has an outlet plug.
Airbag problems. It beeps when seatbelt is not on. It does get great mileage. It runs great and seat belts work it's a four door. We went camping and was able to fit the two of us our puppies were able to fit it has a awesome radio. The only bad thing is that can't charge phone when car is off.

Honda- Matrix 2011: This car will last and is beautiful outside and inside.
I like that it drives. It hasn't broken down and overall it's an amazing car with a sweet interior. The outside of the size of the car has been able to help me get my friends through long road trips without them feeling cramped in. They appreciate the car almost as much as I do. Overall the car is amazing and is the perfect size for a family of all sizes. It is reliable and will last for a long time.

The Toyota matrix is very reliable!
The Toyota matrix works very well for me. I bought an older model yet it still runs perfectly. I am pleased with my purchase of this car. So far I have not had any issues. Even though it is a small car, it does not feel like that on the inside. There is a lot of room and it is very comfortable.

Pros from Owners

likeFilled Frank W.

Reliable engine, 28 mpg, can fit four persons comfortably. Hatchback is easy to load and unload. Good grocery getter. Easy to park with good visibility without any camera assistance. Middle console has easy to access compartment for storage. Molded cup holders for front seat passengers.

Cons from Owners

dislikeFilled Frank W.

It should get better than twenty eight miles per gallon overall. Small four cylinder engine is lacking in power especially in passing situations, ie 50-700 miles per hour. Lost all four wheel covers which apparently is a common problem with matrix models as I have paid more attention to matrix models with missing wheel covers. Problem is due to poor design. I have also had all four plastic door handles crack and become inoperable. My car is not garaged but is parked outside in Florida sunshine. The ultraviolet rays have leached the plasticizers causing them to become brittle and crack. This is a simple and inexpensive fix. Toyota must simply improve the UV rating of the thermoplastic used in their door handles.
