The Toyota Prius offers great gas mileage!! I usually get 47 MPG in the city and 50 MPG on the highway.
I dislike the tiny storage pockets on the side doors. I also dislike the cheap plastic hub caps. I like the double glove compartments, the gas economy, the built-in GPS, the hatchback and rear fold-down seats. I would like Toyota to incorporate turn signals into the side mirrors.

Gas mileage is the best feature of my car with price of gas especially.
My car is very reliable, with constant maintenance I have never had any problems. I get excellent gas mileage average about 40 miles to the gallon. Plenty of space seats 5 adults comfortably and enough trunk space to move small furniture. The car handles well responding to acceleration and breaking with no issues.

Excellent gas mileage! Extremely reliable! Stylish!
My Toyota Prius is extremely reliable. It gets amazing gas mileage and has little is any road noise. I love it! My next vehicle will definitely be another Prius.

Great performance and mileage and fun to boot!
I have had no problems at all. It has great gas mileage, is a comfortable ride, and is fun. I love that I'm driving a car with low emissions too.
accountCircle Mike U
Gas mileage is fantastic.
The only equipment I have had to replace is the auxiliary battery, not the major car battery. So far no performance or reliability problems. Not much of a ride as far as comfort, but it starts every day and gets me to where I want to go, and it still gets 50 miles per gallon. I am sure it has saved me thousands of dollars in fuel costs.

My license plate is gs sipr.
Absolutely love this car. . . I can pass gas stations and drive. It is very nice looking and very roomy inside. My husband does not hit his head when he enters so I do not have to listen to him yelling. It gets 40 to 50 mph and the maintenance is basically an oil change once in awhile. It has really great leather seats which are heated for the winter. Very stable on the road. . Goes through snow with no problems and is great in the rain. I can park on the fuel efficient parking spots.

Prius: great on gas with little maintenance.
The Prius is great for mileage and actually provides good performance. It can pick up speed when needed. However, I wouldn't say it is one of the more comfortable rides. The features are pretty minimal but what you would expect from a car that it is not a luxury car.
accountCircle Jen G
Hybrid car that would be suitable for anyone who wants something fuel efficient.
It has great mileage per gallon, so it ends up saving me a lot of money throughout the year. It is pretty smooth to drive and is very quiet when it is in eco mode. The interior itself is simple and clean looking, and the seats are very comfortable. The look of the exterior is also simple and sleek looking.

Toyota Prius 4 door coupe.
My car has been very reliable. Haven't had any problems with it at all. It gets great gas mileage. It is not a vehicle for long trips though. It runs well on highway and can accelerate well and get up to highway speed very quickly. The fold down seats in the back make carrying purchases much easier than a trunk.

My clunky Prius that I love.
Always has problems, but is very comfortable otherwise. I really like it, but it seems as though I am constantly having problems with the bumpers. The car is very low and I am constantly driving in hills. The cover under the car kept falling off. The ac had issues but I have gotten used to it, so I don't mind so much.
accountCircle Shirley l
It's a good car to have in southern california, but the electric mode is really not a great contribution to the environment or provide any cost-savings
It's got great gas mileage and has a carpool sticker so that I can drive in the carpool lane even without another person. However, the electric charge only lasts 10 miles, which is NOTHING at all.
accountCircle Madison S
The car is okay, great gas mileage, quiet, and decent for a new driver.
Brakes tend to be touchy, fob battery dies quickly. Gas efficient is nice so that I do not have to spend a lot of money on gas. I do not like the basic stereo and a touch screen one would be nicer. I do not like how long the front and back are, makes it harder to park because you do not know how far away from a curb or car you are.

Go-cart with great gas mileage.
Our 2011 Prius has had very few needed repairs. We do take it for regular maintenance. Of course, the gas mileage...45-55 mpg is outstanding and helps to 'like' this vehicle in spite of some factors. When asked how I like the car I usually respond with the pluses, but also add that it is like riding in a go-cart. It is small, and close to the ground. It is also loud to ride in. When on the highway and trailer trucks pass, it is a little intimidating. I feel very close to the ground.

Prius: great little city commuting car.
The Toyota Prius is a good car for commuting, which is how I primarily use it. Its small size and great gas mileage make it a good match for driving and parking in the city. I've had the Prius for six years and have not had any major problems with it. Very reliable! Toyota is a reliable manufacturer, which is much appreciated. The Prius sits a bit low to the ground and the visibility out the rear window is obscured. For my mother (who is in her 60s), these features make the car a total dealbreaker. She will not drive it. One downside is how it handles in the snow. In general, I opt to take an alternative car to work on snowy days.

Long lasting car that saves money.
The Prius is a good driving car with excellent gas mileage which is great in so many ways. I cannot imagine spending around 80 dollars to fill a tank. I spend about 25 per week driving many miles. Toyota cars are great for lasting ten years and more. I might drive this until it breaks down.

Surprising engine failure
I had a Prius 2011 and I loved everything about it, especially the gas mileage. I had it for 8 years until January 2019 when the engine failed. I was hoping to have it longer than 8 years and I expected to replace the battery which is the main problem a Prius would have after a while according to the Toyota dealership staff. I see Prius cars on the road that are as old as mine was and some of them even older which gave me the idea that it would last longer than it did. Unfortunately the engine just died one day in January 2019 and to have the engine replaced was almost 8 thousand dollars which was more expensive than the car itself (around 4 thousand according to BlueBook). So, I decided to buy a RAV 4 2018 hybrid instead and not another Prius. I hope that this one lasts longer than the 8 years and the 140,000 miles of my old Prius.

My car is extremely reliable. I did have to replace the entire air conditioning system last year, though, at a considerable expense.

accountCircle James R

Yes, is reliable. Have not had a day where I didn't have it available for use so far. A few recalls, nothing major.

accountCircle Nicolette S

Yes, the electrical aspect of it has some issues and it has had recalls this past year. The emerging light stays on permanently.

accountCircle Renee C

Very reliable. I have only had to change the battery once after having it for 5 years. This is the only upkeep I have had aside regular oil changes.

accountCircle Desiree R

It is very reliable. Problems? Eh I would say no. I have had no problems with it so far, it is just a common everyday car.

accountCircle Alana T

It has no problems. This vehicle is reliable to the max. It has been on several cross country road trips with no issues.

Absolutely reliable. Great gas mileage, regular maintenance. We drive this vehicle everywhere and a couple times a month take it to visit our oldest daughter who lives a couple hours away in the boonies and we have no problems on regular roads and gravel roads.

How Does the 2011 Toyota Prius Compare to Other Cars?

Based on owner reviews the 2011 Prius ranks 1st out 13 hybrid and electric cars. A close competitor is the Honda Insight, which critics have described as unpolished. Both vehicles are hybrids, but Toyota has much more experience in building hybrid powertrains. The Prius is a much more refined vehicle, making it the better choice between the two cars.

Another competitor is the Chevrolet Volt, which is Chevy’s first attempt at a hybrid vehicle. The Prius beats it in nearly every way, it is more affordable, longer lasting, and better equipped. Chevy focuses heavily on their hybrid powertrain, and the rest of the car feels unfinished. The Prius is the better choice since Toyota has refined it over the years.

Hybrid. 50 miles per gallon.
I drive a Toyota Prius hybrid. I get great gas mileage of 50 miles per gallon driving city and highway. I have the 4 door hatchback which is large enough for a family of four. The car is pretty maintenance free. I need to change the oil every 10,000 miles which I am able to do myself.

Affordable replacement parts.
It would be nice to remove the beeping that happens when the car is set to the reverse position. Trustworthy car to have for work. I save money on gas, and therefore time spent at the pump. Lowakntenamce vehicle, replacement parts are more or less affordable.

The toyota prius is a great car for the money, considering that it gets 52 mpg.
My toyota prius has been a very dependable vehicle for the past ten years. In all of that time, along with general maintenance, we have only needed to replace one battery and a few tires. We have taken it across the country several times, and from florida to the marine provinces of canada. With no issues. These trips involved luggage and food for two adults, and a medium sized dog in a crate. We had room for it all! The drive is smooth and comfortable, and the red paint has held up well in the hot florida sun. We have no complaints.Toyota made a great car for us. At 52 miles per gallon (average), we have no complaints. And yes, we would definitely purchase a toyota prius again in the future!

Toyota Prius review, great car.
Very dependable car. The only issue I have ever had is that is left outside in the extreme cold for too long, it can occasionally take some time to start up. The car has plenty of trunk space and is much roomier inside than expected with ample leg room in both the front and back.

Great on gas, like I have said. Only downside is it is very low to the ground.
I love my vehicle. It is very good on gas and it does not cost much to fill it up, and when it is completely full you get about 500 miles for $20. It runs on electric and gas so you do not use gas as fast. It comes in a variety of colors but personally my favorite is the silver.

You got more than you thought.
Its great, only highly recommended add on would be an additional driver side mirror to help with lane changes. There is a blind side there. Otherwise 48+ mpg is hard to take. The hatchback design is nice, the fold down rear seats give you plenty of room when shopping. Plenty of room for passengers or baby seats. All in all a very pleasant surprise.

Toyota Prius, quick coverage.
A Prius is a great commuter car as it is very comfortable and easy to drive. The ride is very comfortable and steering is very light, possibly a bit too light for those not used to electric steering. There is more than enough power to pass people on the highway, while still maintaining a solid 40 mpg. My favorite part is how big the hatchback becomes when the rear seats are folded down. Can fit full size office chairs and even blow-up mattresses!

Thee car rides smoothly and quietly. I like that the engine turns off when stopped. It is so quiet and nice sitting at a light in silence. The car gets an average 50 mph and has the ability to go all electric. I wish it had a better range for electric but it turns hybrid if speed exceeds 25 mph.

I wish it had a bit more headroom since my family is tall with long torsos. I love the fuel efficiency and roomy trunk and how I use way less gas than other vehicles. I also like the GPS and Bluetooth connectivity and backup camera as well as the standard suite of safety features.

Enjoying the car as expected, reliable and safe.
I like the Prius mostly because of the gas mileage. Perfect for city life and travel too. It does not have a lot of power in acceleration if you want to stay in 'eco mode' which can be annoying sometimes, but also to be expected. It is very comfortable, and the heated seats are really nice to warm yourself up quickly. It feels safe to drive besides when it is extremely windy since the car is quite light. It is also very silent, almost surprisingly silent where bikes and pedestrians sometimes do not realize I am there so it is good to watch extra close for them. Also some blind spots I do not love in the front and back. For the back I use it to my advantage to block out headlights behind me at night so that is the only good thing about those.

I love my gas-saving Prius!
I love my Toyota Prius. So far I have had no major issues with it (bought new in 2011). The only minor issue was a secondary battery that went bad, which was covered under the warranty. The acceleration is a bit slower than most combustible engine vehicles. That, of course, is the trade-off for significant gas savings. While it can and does save gas on the expressway, it's the around town driving where you really save money. While not suited for off-roading, the Prius handles very well in inclement weather as the electric engine already calibrated power to the wheels in standard driving.

I purchased my Prius after reviewing vehicle safety data and finding that they are rated very high. This was important to me because I was a new mother and wanted to keep my baby safe. In addition to safety, I love the average mpgs I get! I average 45-50 miles per gallon and end up only having to fill up every 2-3 weeks! 2011 Prius: revolutionary hybrid.
Because the brakes charge the car the brakes need to be replaced more than your average car. In order to accelerate you have to really press down on the gas pedal to get it to go, more than other cars, this does not take very long to get used to and I have noticed in newer models it is not like this. The only thing that really irritates me is the beeping when you put it in reverse. While the car is small it is still a good size and can fit quite a lot. Good for a single person, would not recommend it for a family with kids and everything that comes with it there just wouldn't be enough room.

Favorite thing is the hatchback. I can fit a ton of stuff back there. I also love the gas mileage and the fact that it is small but fits 4 people well. The biggest complaint is the acceleration pedal. It's kind of at a weird angle so it can cause leg pain if driving long distances.

No major problems, original brakes with 105,000 miles. Only thing I dislike is that the front bumper is very low to the ground and it scrapes going into some driveways. This is my second Prius and I plan to get another in the coming year. Great gas mileage ever. About 38 miles to the gallon.

I have been very happy with the Prius. It is my second. The gas mileage is wonderful. Neither car has needed any repair other than maintenance. For a medium sized car it is very spacious. I do not think the seats are as comfortable as a mini van for a long drive in terms of softness and movement. The white opal paint is holding up well over time. I would be happy with another Prius for my next car.

The Toyota Prius is a great supper of gas and has great reliability!
The reliability of the Prius is awesome. I can honestly say I have not had any issues with the car. As long as you follow the recommended maintenance intervals and treat your car good, it will reward you in the long run. I plan to keep the car until I essentially get tired of it or give it to my son.

Spacious and fuel efficient!
We own two Prius, a Prius c and a regular Prius, and love them both. They are reliable and fuel efficient. My Prius is incredibly spacious and has all of the features I could want. It has ample trunk and back seat space and yet fits easily into right parking spaces. We have had no problems mechanically with either car.

It's a gas/electric hybrid. It's in great shape for a seven year old car
Great car. Love the gas mileage. Comfortable Reliable

My Prius.. When stopped in traffic or at stoplight the hybrid motor runs rather than using gas.
Very classy looking and comfortable inside. Leather seats and lots of room. Love that it's a hatchback. Gets great gas mileage and environmental friendly.
