We love our Toyota RAV4, great car for driving around town and running errands.
This car is very reliable, I drive my two toddlers around everywhere in it and have complete confidence in its safety or worry about it breaking down on me anywhere. The only issue is the drive is a bit shaky, maybe a transmission issue? The cost of repair parts for any Toyota is a bit pricey, but the quality is excellent so no worries about having to do more work on the same issue before the recommendations. The interior is roomy and comfortable; however the back seats seem to have less padding but for us that is no issue because the kids are in their car seats, which fit pretty well. They can go in rear facing without having to move the front seats up at all. It has great visibility of the road while driving with barely any blind spots. It has great convenience features for everyone with plenty of cup holders and storage areas. The USB plug is very slow to charge a phone though, so long road trips will most likely drain the phone battery if you are listening to music. Gas mileage is decent, around 26 mpg/32 highway. You do have to watch your speed though because just a little tap to accelerate and it really is responsive. The seats fold down completely which is nice considering the trunk space is an odd shape, so if you need to transport large items they will not usually fit in the trunk, you will be folding down the seats to get it to fit, and if you have young kids in car seats, that is a major hassle to have to be constantly removing their car seats. Overall this is an exceptional vehicle for driving around the area.
