It consistently performs and is a reliable, durable ride.
No complaints. I like that my car is durable and reliable. It is high enough off the ground for my comfort level, and not too high

Family-style car, but with a modern look
I feel very safe driving it, especially in winter because of the four-wheel drive. I also love the fact that it has a camera to aid me in backing up. It also is fairly good on gas.
accountCircle Tiffany L
Hybrid, gas efficient car.
I haven't had a problem with my car in the last 2 years. It is a very reliable car. Roomy inside for 4 adults, 5 may be a little small for the row in the back. Wish my seats fold down flat, they stick up a little bit which makes it harder to transport items.
accountCircle Kay A
It gets great gas mileage and is smaller like a go cart.
It has very comfortable seats.. It has good gas mileage.. It has a lot of safety features.. You sit higher than a car.
accountCircle Gigi K
It is reliable and performs as I expect it to daily.
It is comfortable. I like the color and features. The ride is as expected.
accountCircle Cassy S
It is a hybrid and only cost a fraction more than the regular model.
I love the comfort of the car and the way it drives. The gas mileage is terrific, considering the high prices. I enjoy satellite radio, which I get to listen to in this car.

Love the sleek look and design.
Good in the snow. Great gas mileage. Love the sleek look and interior. Only issue is not having automatic lights.
accountCircle Caitlin K
Little blue reliable machine.
The automatic tailgate closer sometimes hangs up. Like, it senses something blocking it but there's nothing there. But other than that it is very reliable. The turn radius is fantastic and the backup camera is a lifesaver. I also love the amount of space I get in the back.

It has many safety features and looks classy, great for hauling when you have a home.
Would not accept my 5 rating. I love my RAV4. It drives nicely and I feel very safe. No complaints

Issues left and right.
No I would not recommend this vehicle. I bought this vehicle used with 30,895 miles and on 9/23/19. I’ve had nearly fatal issues with the front struts and had to change them twice and I’m up to 76,800 miles. Rear struts had to be changed regardless of being changed before sold to me, brakes were a nightmare, I changed the brake pads and rotors in the front 3 times, rear ones twice, changed the brake fluid, front brake hoses, front calipers and the brakes still have issues to this day. Transmission fluid flush was extremely expensive to do at Toyota but I care about my vehicle, this vehicle is costly to maintain, I keep hearing grinding noises from my front driver side wheel, muffler has been rattling since I bought the vehicle, A/C only works good if my passenger vents are closed, while A/C is working I hear a belt noise while accelerating after being stopped, heat makes my muffler rattle, low coolant issues constantly. This vehicle has been maintained like crazy. $7,000 of repairs and that has only made a dent in what needs to be done. My car died at a stop light and turned on a month ago. The check engine light came on, Toyota said their computer came back with no issues and that I was lying. Toyota has extremely expensive vehicles and extremely shady employees. If you live in Iowa, steer clear of Toyota of Des Moines. My Rav4 has been a nightmare and keeps having more and more issues. Will be trading this piece of c**p in for a 2020 CR-V. The 16 Rav has been nothing but horrible. I only loved it when I first bought it. The features are so outdated, the interior looks extremely cheap, the paint sucks, the tailgate gets stuck all the time, headlights keep going out and this vehicle also has mechanical issues. The seats are very uncomfortable and kill my back as a 6 foot tall person. This car has had suspension issues, the ball joints in the front have gone bad and the driver side control arm is bad. I am a safe driver and don’t go over potholes. Steering problems keep occuring and I hear bubbling chirping noises from my steering wheel while this car is still fairly new mileage wise. This car is garbage, Warranty is garbage, Toyota of Des Moines is garbage. Please save yourself the headache and do loads of research before purchasing a vehicle.

Avoid Unless You Can Use a Snorkle!
Problematic water leaks into interior. Car with 33k miles has mold under carpet. Standing water, soaked pads. 4 years old. Supposedly clogged sunroof drain. If the drain clogs so much, why have they never fixed the design??
accountCircle Amanda M
The vehicle over all I do not recommend.
I bought my car used with a lot of brake issues even though the brakes were new. The pick up speed is really slow so going from park to fast in an intersection is hard and risky. The emergency brake does not work like it should, when I use the brake my car still rolls back.

No more toyotas
I bought my 2016 rav 4 about 3 years ago new. Probably my son toys have better paint than this car.any thing that pass over is a dent. There is a noise at the driver seat.toyotas are no trusted any more.

Paint quality is terrible. Just opening the door scratches behind the handle if your fingernail barely touches it.
Awful paint quality. Easily dented. Nice interior. I like the dash & ac is always amazing.
accountCircle Della F
Buy something else. It is not comfortable.
It is not comfortable on a long trip. It is extremely noisy. As in road noise. If I had to do it all again, I would not purchase this vehicle.
accountCircle Lindsay D
Shoddy craftsmanship but ok car
It is a decent mid-sized car. However, it is cheaply manufactured. The weatherstripping is wearing out. The trim on the door has broken off.

accountCircle Jackie B

Absolutely reliable. It is a car you can always depend on. I have always felt safe and never as if something would go wrong while driving. So far no problems.

No issues with mine so far. Did have some flat tires but that is not Toyotas fault. Other than that it is great.

accountCircle Elaine H

The Toyota rav4 it is very reliable to me and beside things are getting older, the engine runs great. My car never had any major problems.

accountCircle Bill G

It has a little rattle that I can not locate and the battery went dead overnight when it got cold once.

accountCircle Sue M

I have only had problems with the audio not being very high quality-terrible radio reception. Routine tire and brake maintenance has helped it be a painless car to drive.

accountCircle Terri I

Yes, it is totally reliable. We keep up with the recommendations on maintenance. I'm sure it will drive for years to come. There is an electrical issue every now and then with the radio.

Yes, it's reliable and is low-maintenance. It's only been a few years, so I haven't experienced any problems so far.

Great family road trip car.
This car has tons of room to haul big items or even just many items from shopping trips. The back seat has room for both our car seats and plenty of room for their legs to not be squished. The middle has a pull down where drinks and whatnot can be placed. The doors have additional spots for that. All the buttons are easy to reach and understand. The front seats are very comfy and offer plenty of legroom, adjustable for any height.
accountCircle Rita J on June 24, 2021
Rav4 seats are highly adjustable to satisfy every body shape and size.
My 2016 rav4 is very reliable. We've had it for four years and only needed regular maintenance. No issues with anything working properly. I recommend the car for a good sized small cross over and expect to keep this car for several more years. I am able to adjust the seat to be comfortable for me - and when my husband drives the car, he, too, can adjust it for his comfort. I like the fact that I can adjust the radio, make a phone call right from the steering wheel.

Toyota rav4 is a super versatile vehicle.
I love having an SUV, as the visibility from the driver’s seat is great. The audio settings are also nice and offer seamless music control while driving. The back up camera has also been extremely helpful. However, I wish this model of car offered an option for leather upholstery instead of cloth.

Excellent comfort and safety features for an affordable 2016 SUV.
During the last year I have owned my Toyota rav4, I have been very happy with the performance of the vehicle and the excellent gas mileage of this SUV! I especially like the side mirror blind spot monitors and automatic brake safety features. Both features keep me feeling safe on the road and confident in inclement driving conditions!

Rav4 is the best car ever. I will never purchase another type of car.
No problems at all!! I love this car! Super reliable! It is a very nice car to drive and has a lot of amazing features such as Bluetooth which I love because no one does radio anymore! The radio is also a touchscreen which is great! It has a super big trunk and lots of space.

A car you can trust, reliability is a given.
I bought my car in dark gray and the color is just as beautiful as when I bought it. I have had no issues with this car whatsoever and it is obviously made for functionality and efficiency. The seats are super comfortable and it includes all the features I need and want. I know this car will last me a long time with no problems as long as I take care of it.

Spacious, reliable and a no brained!
The rav4 is both comfortable and reliable. So far I have had no problems or performance issues. The vehicle has great gas mileage, plenty of space and great upgrades for the price. I am convinced that you cannot go wrong with a Toyota, the rav4 ends up being the perfect small SUV and the all wheel drive is fantastic for in climate weather.

The car is very comfortable to seat with a great design sense. The size is just appropriate. The 2021 Toyota rav4's refined interior, remarkable fuel economy, and well-balanced performance help it place near the top of our compact SUV ranking. Overall the car is recommended to all.

A very spacious and comfortable car.
It is easy to drive, has comfortable seats and plenty of room. I love driving friends places since I can seat up to 5 people. There is plenty of space in the trunk, and the back seats can be put down. Which helps in packing for a trip or moving. The only thing I do not like about this car is that on sharp turns on the freeway it feels like it could flip over. There is even a warning about it on my sunshield.
accountCircle Dominique H on June 7, 2021
Truthful review about rav4.
The only problem is that my brakes squeal even after getting them serviced. Other than that, I love my rav 4 and always encourage others to get one. It is easy to connect my phone via Bluetooth and listen to music and disconnect other people who use my Bluetooth. The built in GPS is outdated and hard to use, but it is easy with phone apps because of the Bluetooth. Sometimes the Bluetooth gets wonky. Not sure why.

About my 2016 toyota rav4.
Haven't had hardly any issues with my rav4. Wish I had seat warmers and a heated steering wheel. I love the backup camera. Has a good amount of storage area. Enjoy using the sunroof from time to time. It does not have lane assist which is not really a big deal to me.
accountCircle Terry A on June 2, 2021
A nice looking car that is served me well and plan to keep a while longer.
Purchased my car new, I have kept recommended maintenance up and have had no problems other than needing a new tire. Plenty of interior space. The le has all the necessities I wanted back in 2016 except the drivers seat does not have the ability to adjust taller, only forward. The car is very reliable and was rated the top safe car in 2016 which is why I chose the car. I do find it some difficult to see the curb when making a right turn.

The perfect car on the market! Made to last forever!
This vehicle is fantastic! During a blizzard I drove right through 8 inches of snow without slipping once. No repairs to this vehicle yet but it is only 4 years old. It is my second rav4. I had the last one for 20 years and never had a repair done. I changed the oil every 3,000 or 4,000 miles and replaced the brake pads once. I love a reliable car!
accountCircle Kelsey K on May 28, 2021
My car has the space of a good size SUV without making the car feel big.
Vehicle rides very smooth and efficient gas mileage. I have had my vehicle almost four years and have luckily not had any major issues. The change in the body style from previous years made the interior seem larger or more space for comfort. I really love using the backup camera when I am in a busy environment.
accountCircle Kevin H on May 26, 2021
Great car for everyday needs and wants.
Great gas mileage and enough room for our family. We just recently had to get new tires at about 70,000 miles, but they were inexpensive. More than likely would upgrade to the higher version for some of the extras included. Toyota is an awesome car manufacturer and we couldn't be happier.

Likes and dislikes of the rav4.
I love the heated seats. I dislike when the check light comes on for just a tiny bit of tire pressure is low. Makes me worry too much. It heats up pretty fast for heat in the winter. It cools off pretty quickly for summer. I wish it had heat and a/c in the back for passengers, that's a biggie.

Second best vehicle I have owned.
Very reliable vehicle. Great gas mileage. Seats could be a little more comfortable. I love the backup camera! I have not had any issues with this vehicle and have had it for 4 going on 5 years. The back seats recline which I like so you are not having to sit straight up.

It is a blue crossover which is great for a first car or for whenever.
My Toyota rav4 is a very reliable car. It has the best gas mileage so it is very affordable. Very uncommon that something is wrong with it and if there is, it is normally a really easy fix. Nothing that a quick trip to the shop cannot fix. I have taken it on very many road trips and I can say, I wouldn't choose a different vehicle.

My Toyota rav4, 2016 is the best car I have driven. I feel incredibly safe in all types of weather, the 4 wheel drive helps with the safety. It is a smooth ride and even smoother turns. Space galore with a recall on paint.
I have had trouble with the paint chipping on my back bumper and my driver door lock messed up. It will not lock when I use the keys to lock all the doors, so I have to manually do that each time I get out. I also have to put my key in the door to unlock it before I get in as well. I love the space I have and I love the touch screen radio. I also love how much room I have in the very back for groceries, and if I want to let the back seats down I can put something big back there if I need to. I feel like my car is a great fit for me.

Toyota is already making headway in 2019 with the 2019 Toyota Avalon the 2019 Toyota corolla, and the 2019 Toyota rav4. The 2019 Toyota Avalon is a reimagining of Toyota's flagship Avalon. It has a 3.5-liter v6 engine sedan and has an automatic eight-speed transmission. A hybrid version also exists with a 2.5-liter, 4-cylinder engine that has a pair of electric motors and a CVT transmission. The 2019 Toyota corolla, on the other hand, is a front wheel drive vehicle that comes in 4-door hatchback and sedan styles. It has CVT and 6-speed manual transmissions, two 1.8 liter 4-cylinder engine options, and a final 2-liter 4-cylinder engine variant.

Rav4 le. Google performance overall but needs greater attention to comfort.
Cabin noise level is a bit loud. Also, I find blind spot mirror distracting rather than helpful. It is reasonably comfortable and reliable. Rear door is a little heavy when manual- opening. Seat adjustment is hard to access and difficult even for average size hands.

Hybrid version of a compact sport-utility with towing package.
Comfortable, has sunroof, GPS, radio, a hybrid, has a lot of safety items. The one I like is the quick brake warning. You can change all the sensitivities' levels to more or less. Also like the fact you turn them all off. For instance, when towing a trailer, and when backing up, you don't have the alarms going off. People are surprised to see a hybrid version of a compact sport-utility. And it is very quiet when you start it. People ask me all the time, is it running? The only negative thing, is I wish it had a right turn video camera so I wouldn't drive over curbs.

I like the car but because of how the hood goes over the wheels it is very hard to tell where the width ends and it makes it hard for me to judge how close I am to the cars next to me. I never end up in a parking space in the right place. I always have to pull back out and reposition the car.

The gas mileage is fantastic
The best thing about my RAV4 is that it gets 28 mpg. I enjoy the seats, as there is enough room for me to drive comfortably.

Great and dependable family vehicle.
I really love this car, it performs really well and is a smooth and comfortable ride. The touch screen interface is really nice. The only thing that bothers me about the car is when I am running low on gas it does not ding to alert me, a little light comes on that is easily ignored.

Love my purple rav4!! The best ever!
So far, so good! Just passed by 50,000 miles, no repairs (knock on wood) with regular maintenance and care. Somewhat average gas Mileage of 26-28 mpg. Rides smoothly, great for highway or in-town drivers. Also can be found for a reasonable price and in many different colors.

It is an extremely comfortable ride.
Very comfortable, very nice sporty SUV. I have heated seats, sunroof, auto lift gate. The only thing I do not like about it is that you cannot open the back window if you need to transport something long.

My family loves our rav 4 when it is not summer.
I enjoy my rav4 it is reliable and comfortable. Since owning my vehicle I have not experienced any maintenance issues. I live in Arizona and one issue we have as a family is there are no air vents in the back seat. Since temperature can be as hot as 120 in the car it takes a long time to cool in the summer. I enjoy my Bluetooth and touch screen radio.

Rav4 hybrid review. Hybrids are not the same as gas.
You notice the switch between electric to gas. So if you are sensitive, this might impact your decision to purchase. In the winter when the heat is on, I hear a popping noise. I brought it back to the dealership and they said nothing is wrong and they cannot hear it. Maybe I just have bad luck.
