Auxiliary function on radio.
The transmission is failing. My siblings love the DVD player. Bass is good on the radio. AUX function is super helpful.

Reliability and performance.
Very reliable, 100. 000+ miles and rides like brand new. Would buy another. 3rd Toyota I have owned, wouldn't buy anything else.

It is dependable and affordable. That is the most important thing.
I like the dependability for sure. We have over 130,000 miles and it's running strong. However the sliding doors are starting to not work so well

Long- lived and reliable!
We purchased our sienna expecting that a Toyota would be a long-lived, reliable vehicle. It has 100% met those expectations. After 9 years and nearly 120,000 miles, my sienna has a small oil leak into the oil pan, has had a recall regarding the shift lever (which Toyota fixed), and a failure. If the sliding door motors. All other work has been maintenance only. I personally think that is pretty good for a 10 year-old vehicle with over 130,000 total miles. It even still looks good!

Toyota Sienna is a great family car with plenty of room for kids and all your packages.
I love the way it drives, the roominess on the inside, the style/look on the outside, and the way I can fold down the back seats for more cargo space.

Great vehicle for families!
We have loved the features of our minivan. We have auto side doors and a back door. There is plenty of room for our family of 6 and it's a comfortable ride. We also have enjoyed the 6 CD radio and seat warmers. Our biggest problems have been with the battery. Even after we have changed the battery, there are still issues where the car dies and we have to recharge multiple times.

Toyota is a very reliable brand and their vehicles can easily last 100k+ miles.
Nearly 100k miles and no major issues. Plenty of room for a family of 4, and then some. Smooth, quiet drive.

It has had a lot of kinks and things to wrong. The power sliding doors will no longer open with the buttons and my kids can't pull them open. The DVD player quit working.
It is very common for the power sliding doors to quit working in this vehicle.

It is large enough to seat 7 people, has many features, can carry anything, like bikes, sliding rear doors are great, just don't like how much gas is takes

It's a good sturdy minivan. Better quality than an American made equivalent.
Overall, for a minivan it's fine. Toyotas tend to be stronger vehicles. Mine currently has exhaust problems and some of the connectors are brittle and cause The engine to run rough and the check engine light to come on quite a bit. Hands-down, my favorite feature is the stone go. I wish it was easier to take out the middle seats though.

Easy to use car that is good for beginners.
I like the interior size and that it is lasted for nine years. It has great gas mileage. I do not like that it needs brakes and tires every two years. I feel safe in the vehicle.

When you have 3 or more kids the space that a minivan provides is vital.
I love the extra room that having a minivan provides. The double sliding doors make getting the kids in and out a breeze. The front seats are heated and makes the winter mornings that much cozier.

Disappointed
I purchased new in 2009. Disappointed how many things gone wrong with this Toyota. I have 156k btw--I use to be mechanic so i know how things are suppose to work & when built well 1-Loud engine clattering noise when cold at startup, lat for bout 10 minutes. Never fully disappears----known issue (piston slap) 2-Sliding door issues-- auto feature not working correctly on passenger side, and top roller bearing very weak, completely broke on passenger side and problematic on driver side--known issues 3-Warped front rotors, I dont travel lots of hills or tow. Doesnt seem to be over heating issues from hanging calipers, Maybe Costco didnt torque lug nuts or star pattern when ive gotten tires replaced and rotated ? ......3rd set of rotors so far 4-Front tires wear out extremely fast, no alignment issues or damaged front end parts, properly inflated too. Ive tried different brands of tires, the most i can get is 30k out of the Michelin 80k mileage tires. Ive owned other front wheel drive and 4 wheel drive and nothing wears out so d**n fast like this van. 5-Out of the 4 CD capacity only 3 work. And only OK sound quality from stereo system 6-MAJOR issue- Engine Oil cooler line made out of rubber hose--develop leak at 90 degree bend area. Bad design and very very wrong choice of material to use...I was luck this didnt go out on the freeway because that would have been the end of my engine, instead it started shooting out engine oil in my driveway so luckily i caught right away. There is a Free replacement to fix at no charge. Toyota replaces the rubber hoses with metal flex lines

My 2009 Sienna is an 8 seater. I have only had to do regular maintenance on my vehicle. It is great as the back seats fold into the trunk that allows the van to be used as a small pickup. Love it.
Maintenance is due every 5,000 Miles, and it keeps out road noise.

General comment
I just found after10 years that the engine is built in aluminium, so always use synthetic oil for best result. I had problems with engine noise inclusive a couple of “mechanics” told me the only solution for the ugly engine noise will be replace the engine. Terrible recommendation, the las mechanic that help me “a good one” cleaned the oil screen and all fixed, no noises and told me about the synthetic oil. Both door actuators left and right stop working I need to replace it. Other than that, I have 250,000 miles. But not happy after many years. Since brand new the truck had a sludge oil and I spend $1000 +\- to fix it, was nightmare. Of course dealership never took responsibility or help me to fix it. Very bad vehicle brand. No more foreign cars. US brand GM or Ford, are superior quality brands.

Toyota Sienna is number 1!
I bought this vehicle brand new in June 2009, and I was so impressed with it! Loved the maximum room, storage in the back area, the way the seats folded down in the floor for extra space for hiking some items, vacation bags, groceries, etc. This is the first Toyota that I had ever purchased and I never regretted it at all. Mostly great, some minor none hindering issues
The gas cap causes a signal misfire. So we have a light on that doesn't mean what it says from time to time. The power sliding doors don't slide on their own anymore. I love this vehicle! It has so much room for running errands--especially for gardening supplies and home improvement projects. I also love the fact that I can pop up three extra seats and carry a car load of friends to a meeting or event. And there is a cup holder for everyone as well! In addition to the sup holders there is door storage, seat pockets and hooks for coats and purses. There is a seat warmer for both front seat which is great for winter driving--and the heater and air conditioning is adjustable for each passenger! The only problem with the sound system is that the very rear seat cannot control the volume in their section. I like the volume and station control on the steering wheel for safety. I just wish they had 'bumper' strips on the side of the vehicle to protect the doors from other cars--the ones on the sides are too high to do much good. If they added bumper strips to the sides this vehicle would be a 5!

Good car. My kids love the rearview mirror in the interior of the car.
Great car for family of 5. We removed the car seat in the middle row to make more floor space -- easier in and out, more storage on the floor. My complaint about the car when we first got it was that there was no good place to change a diaper! How could this be-- it is supposed to be geared to families. I would suggest in the back trunk area having a pull out 'table' to lay baby on. Because it didn't, we ended up taking the seat out so I could lay baby on the floor of that area (where the sliding door of the van is. ).

It has navigation. Automatic doors a plus! There is a lot of room in it!

Toyota sienna dependable quiet family vehicle.
Very reliable. Smooth ride. All I have done is routine maintenance and it is still running like new at 170 thousand miles. Good storage. Has plenty of room for my 4 children. 3 of them are teenagers six foot 2. Very quiet ride also. Nice gauges. Great on gas.

The features make the van!
It is a reliable van. The rear view camera is a very useful feature. The onboard DVD player is a godsend with kids. I brought it used (2015) and it didn't have any trouble until after 3 years with the suspension.

Review of the 2009 Toyota Sienna
Compared to other cars I've driven, the Toyota Sienna offers a more 'classic' feel, in that the driver has complete control. The audio system is above average, with pronounced bass, clean mids, and not-too-sharp highs. The comfort of the car is less than that of more recent vehicles, but does not depreciate the value. After getting T-boned earlier this year, I liked my Sienna so much that I went and bought the exact same make.

It's wonderful for families on the go! It allows plenty of room for cargo and passengers. It grows with your family.
I love how smooth the ride is and the automatic doors. The car cools quickly and provides great head space. I wish it had slightly better gas mileage.

The Toyota Sienna is a great family vehicle; able to carry an entire family plus strollers, equipment for sports, etc.
It fits our family well. We wish both sliding doors were automatic.

The most important thing about my car is it is for families.
I love that it has sliding doors. I like that it has a backup camera. I don't like that it looks like a minivan.
