I love the Toyota sienna because the interior width seems to be larger than other minivans. I have not liked the recalls that have happened. I have found that it is better to pay higher costs and have the car maintained at Toyota. Otherwise, you risk getting non-Toyota parts that can cause problems with your car. I have the 8 passenger option and I love it for carpooling and field trips. The auto lift for the trunk would be worth the price. I would get this on my next minivan. I love that we have many cup holders-12 or 14 if you do not have the third seat placed in the 2nd row. I would definitely purchase another sienna and I would upgrade to the xle from the le.

I love my Toyota Sienna. The seating is perfect for my family of 5. Especially when we travel. The seating is perfect. We can remove one of the middle seats so my kids have space from each other. My Sienna is reliable. It runs beautifully. We were hit from behind last year and the Sienna did exactly what it was built to do. My kids and I were spared any major injury. We also love the storage. We have cup holders and compartments for everything. Lastly, I like to get where I am going quickly, my Sienna handles is fast and handles curves like nobody's business. It is a great minivan. I recommend it to anyone starting a family.

It's very spacious with lots of foot room and my kids don't feel squished in the back.

I love my minivan. It has all the space for my three kids plus room for their friends and their soccer gear. The only issue I have with the vehicle is that when I roll down the windows, sometimes the black lining comes down with the window, preventing me from being able to roll the window back up. I then have to put the lining back into the frame of the door while rolling up the window and hope that it doesn't break while the window is going up. I took it in to a Toyota dealership and they told me it was fixed but a couple months later later, it was still doing it.

Safety Recalls (11)

chevronDown icon
Power Train > Driveline > Driveshaft Jun 1, 2011
Report Receipt Date:
Jun 1, 2011
NHTSA Campaign:
11V306000
Summary:
TOYOTA IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2011 VENZA AND SIENNA PASSENGER CARS MANUFACTURED FROM MARCH 7, THROUGH MARCH 10, 2011. THERE IS A POSSIBILITY THAT THE FRONT, RIGHT, DRIVE SHAFT MAY BREAK DUE TO INSUFFICIENT HEAT TREATMENT.
Consequence:
SHOULD THE DRIVE SHAFT BREAK DURING VEHICLE OPERATION, THE VEHICLE WILL LOSE POWER WITHOUT PRIOR WARNING. LOSS OF MOTIVE POWER WITHOUT WARNING MAY INCREASE THE RISK OF A CRASH.
Remedy:
TOYOTA WILL NOTIFY OWNERS AND DEALERS WILL INSPECT THE DRIVE SHAFT, AND, IF THE DRIVE SHAFT IS IDENTIFIED AS ONE THAT MAY NOT HAVE BEEN CORRECTLY MANUFACTURED, IT WILL BE REPLACED WITH A NEW ONE AT NO CHARGE. THE SAFETY RECALL IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN MID-JUNE 2011. OWNERS MAY CONTACT TOYOTA AT 1-800-331-4331.

Exterior Lighting > Brake Lights > Switch Dec 13, 2010
Report Receipt Date:
Dec 13, 2010
NHTSA Campaign:
10V620000
Summary:
TOYOTA IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2011 SIENNA VEHICLES. THE BRAKE STOP LAMP SWITCH IS MOUNTED ON A SMALL BRACKET WELDED ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE SERVICE BRAKE PEDAL SUPPORT ASSEMBLY. DUE TO ITS PROXIMITY TO THE PARKING BRAKE PEDAL, IN LIMITED CIRCUMSTANCES THE STOP LAMP SWITCH BRACKET COULD BE DAMAGED BY THE OPERATORS FOOT DURING PARKING BRAKE APPLICATION.
Consequence:
THIS COULD RESULT IN BRAKE DRAG WITH ASSOCIATED BRAKE NOISE, VIBRATION, AND/OR ILLUMINATION OF THE BRAKE WARNING LIGHT. BRAKING EFFECTIVENESS COULD BE REDUCED INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.
Remedy:
DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE BRACKET ASSEMBLY FREE OF CHARGE. TOYOTA PLANS TO MAIL AN INTERIM OWNER NOTIFICATION IN THE MIDDLE OF JANUARY 2011, TO ADVISE OWNERS OF THE RECALL AND WHEN PARTS ARE AVAILABLE TO COMPLETE REPAIRS. OWNERS MAY CONTACT TOYOTA AT 1-800-331-4331.

Consequence:
If the carrier cable is corroded due to road salt, the spare tire may separate from the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy:
Toyota will send owners an interim notification to advise owners of the recall and dealers will remove the spare tire and relocate it to the luggage compartment, free of charge. Owners will be mailed a second letter when remedy parts are available and dealers will replace the spare tire carrier assembly with an improved one, free of charge. The manufacturer has not yet provided a notification schedule. Owners may contact Toyota customer service at 1-800-331-4331. NOTE: 2004-2010 Siennas subject to this recall were subject to recall campaign 10V-160 initiated in 2010. Those owners are advised that they must have their vehicles remedied again under this campaign and that having the earlier recall completed did not remedy their vehicles.
