Alex Showalter
Oct 22, 2022

The 2015 Toyota Sienna lasts over 300,000 miles with only minor brake rotor and cruise control issues. At $16,850 to $22,625, it’s more expensive than some other minivans, but worth it for the most reliable choice on the market.

Interior materials are extremely nice, the V6 engine offers excellent power and there’s advanced safety technology available.
dislikeFilled The Bad
The second row seats have to be removed to use the full cargo space, there’s some engine noise and fuel economy is lower than average.

Never thought I would love a minivan but it has been my favorite car to date!
This car is perfect for a growing family. It is easy to get in and out of with the automatIc doors. It has plenty of room which makes it easy to access along with put groceries and other items into with ease. It is a comfortable drive and does well in the snowy mountains where we live with it is AWD. It has been a lifesaver on road trips as everyone in the family has plenty of room to stretch out and plenty of room for luggage when the back seat Down. I feel like the fuel economy is good for its size with us getting 23 mpg in the winter and 26 mpg in the summer.

I feel safe with my children in this van. Tons of space for family and travel.
This was not my first choice in car but as new parents of twins we needed to be practical. This was the best decision we made 2nd to having kids. I just love this van! Plenty of room for 8 people we have used it for family vacations, could not be happier. I did feel original tires did not hold up well for a brand new van and already had side door recalls.

It is so safe but also absolutely the coolest vehicle for a mom!
I like features, safety, style. The doors open with a button which is so great for kids! Dislike - nothing - I adore it.

You can never go wrong with sienna.
It is actually my parent's van. It is quite comfortable, and it has a lot of space. It is great for road trips, and it has a long lifespan. We got our van used after our old one died. You cannot go wrong with a Toyota sienna. It is our favorite car model.

Great, dependable vehicle.
Overall we have had no problems with the vehicle. We have had it for a couple years now and everything is working great. We use the power doors a lot and it is nice to open the side doors with the remote. Has good power and all wheel drive that helps when we travel north during the winter.

I like the amount of space it provides for passengers and stuff that we have to carry. We are a family of four, so having enough space it great. The car drives very smooth as well.
Safety is rated high for this vehicle. I feel very safe driving my kids in this vehicle.

Good value, good ride and plenty of comfort
I love my Toyota sienna . I have never had any problems with this van. It has a very smooth and comfortable ride. I needed a van to take my grandchildren to and from school and also one good for travel. My Sienna is very roomy and has always been very dependable. I have always had Chevys, car, van and also a truck. Never did I think I would ever be this satisfied with anything other than a chevy. But I am so pleased with my Toyota.

Not a fun vehicle to drive.
I don't enjoy driving it. It's a base model and has no fun to it. I like the fact that it's a Toyota, but that's it. Its big and bulky and drives like a bus. It has no spunk in the engine and the features are ok. My kids don't enjoy it. It's all around not a fun vehicle to drive.

Disappointing interior quality.
Several things have broke on the interior of my Toyota sienna. The button panel on the left of the driver seat, the storage compartments on either side of the third row, and the handles that fold down the third row. As far as mechanical goes I have never had an issue.

I have a Toyota sienna that fits 8 people. It has a big trunk space.
This car is very spacious; however, it is not very good looking. It runs very well and very smoothly. It has very comfortable leather seats. Both of the front seats have a heated seat feature that is very nice in the winter. It is a very nice car to drive, and it rarely has any issues with it. However, we do have a problem with leaking inside the car.

It has been dependable. Terrible gas mileage.
Minivans hold a lot of people, which we occasionally need. I am more accustomed to driving a smaller car and prefer to do so.

It has a lot of legroom. Our 6'1" teenager has no complaints!
I like all of the room this minivan has. It has a cabin filter that has to be replaced often and that is kind of a pain! The automatic doors have to be manually closed if the vehicle is not clean.

What Do Critics Say About the Toyota Sienna?

  • Consumer Reports says the Sienna is a very comfortable minivan with a smooth suspension as well as high owner satisfaction scores.
  • Edmunds rates the Sienna at 4/5, praising the high quality interior, however, they don’t like how hard it is to remove the second row of seats.
  • Kelley Blue Book users rate the Sienna 4.4/5, enjoying the excellent all-wheel-drive system, but owners don’t like the high purchase price.

What Common Problems Does the 2015 Toyota Sienna Have?

Common problems found on the 2015 Toyota Sienna include the brake pedal pulsing, cruise control lights flashing, along with excessive noise from the windows. Overall, these problems are minor compared to other minivans from 2015, with lower than average repair costs as well.

The brake pedal pulsing is a complaint from some Sienna owners at around 25,000 miles. Usually when the pedal is pulsing there’s a warped rotor which causes the calipers to slip on and off. Replacing the rotors fixes the problem, costing around $600, depending on local labor rates.

Cruise control lights flashing on the dash have been reported by some owners in the first 20,000 miles. The flashing lights are a sign of a problem with the cruise control circuit wiring. There’s a technical service bulletin which covers the repair as long as the van is still under warranty.

Excessive wind noise is another issue mentioned by some owners at around 50,000 miles. Worn-out seals on the windows lead to more noise in the cabin, and have to be replaced. Changing out the seals costs around $150 per window.

There are 6 recalls on the Sienna, which is similar to other minivans from 2015. The most serious recall is for the sliding door, which may open while driving. Toyota will replace the wiring harness on affected models to fix the sliding door motors. Other recalls cover trim panel clips and air bags, which are not a big concern once they’ve been fixed.

How Long Will the 2015 Toyota Sienna Last?

A well-maintained 2015 Toyota Sienna can last over 300,000 miles, which is around 50,000 miles longer than the highly-rated Honda Odyssey. Regular annual maintenance costs are similar to other minivans according to data provided by Repair Pal, at $534 per year.

Since nearly all 2015 Sienna models will have over 100,000 miles, buyers should be prepared to replace the voltage regulator for $375, emergency brake cable costing $300, and the liftgate motor, which costs around $500.

Entertainment technology is very good with a standard 6.1-inch touch screen stereo as well as Bluetooth connectivity. Safety technology is excellent with a standard rearview camera. Optional upgrades include blind spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, as well as a forward collision warning system.

What Are the Differences Between Years?

The third generation of the Toyota Sienna was introduced in 2011 and replaced by the fourth generation in 2021.

2013: 4-cylinder engine discontinued.

2014: Tow prep package is standard across the board.

2015: Minor exterior changes, better suspension, and nicer interior materials.

2016: Siri Eyes Free added for iPhone users.

2017: Upgraded V6 engine and new 8-speed transmission added.

2018: Toyota Safety Sense standard on all models, additional rear USB ports.

2019: Amazon Alexa and Apple CarPlay are standard across the lineup.

How Does the Toyota Sienna Compare to the Competition?

The Toyota Sienna is the best minivan available from 2015 since it has outstanding reliability as well as upgraded interior materials to help it compete with more luxurious choices.

The Honda Odyssey is another minivan available which costs around $1,800 less. Steering is more responsive in the Honda Odyssey, while the Toyota Sienna has a nicer interior for the money. We recommend the Toyota Sienna since it will last longer, although both are excellent minivans worth trying out.

The Dodge Grand Caravan is a competitor which costs around $4,000 less. While the seats in the Dodge Grand Caravan are a bit softer, the Toyota Sienna is more reliable. We recommend the Toyota Sienna since there are fewer mechanical problems reported, and they last much longer.

Spacious and safe family van.
What I love about this vehicle is the space. The trunk is deep and huge. There is plenty of space for my big family. The ride is smooth. The van has power windows and passenger doors. The van has a rear camera which is very useful for safety. I wish it had a front camera as well.

Great passenger and cargo space in a smooth ride.
My Toyota sienna offers a comfortable ride with lots of storage capacity for passengers and cargo. It has a smooth ride and has good safety features, like blind spot monitor, back-up camera with cross traffic alert and side airbags. It can seat up to eight passengers.

Best minivan. Can fit china cabinet, queen bed, 2 end tables, 70' TV & 6 l.Boxes.
Very comfortable, decent gas mileage, most trunk space than other competitors. Only issue I have is this is front wheel drive and the rear is out of alignment. The only thing that they were able to do is put a spacer which keeps getting knocked out of alignment.

I enjoy driving my car. It has heated front seats that come into play in the winter time. The sliding rear doors are great as well. They are power doors, so I can open/close them using the push button in the center console where the garage door buttons are. The mirrors fold in for tight spaces as well.

Sienna is great for families, but not the easiest to handle.
The sienna is very comfortable for our family of five. The teens love being able to space out. The disadvantage is the sheer bulk you carry with you wherever you go. It has great pick-up and is a safe choice but I it is not the coolest vehicle around. We have been starting to look at SUV crossovers as those seem to still have more space and general family sáchela features with a little more manageable bulk.

Featuring the Toyota sienna.
I have a sienna that is built like a tank. It is different from other vans because it has an amazing turn radius. Having owned other vans this is a great feature. I have not had any engine problems with it and therefore it is extremely reliable. My vehicle is not 4wd but can be purchased with 4wd.

The panels under seats have secret compartment.
Too much work to Bluetooth you have to be parked and not driving to add a new device. There is not a easy way to access it. Great space under seats and around. Except back seats the degree is at an uncomfortable angle unless you are a child. I love that the seats can flip and you can have so much space.

We have a family of 6 and absolutely love our sienna! I love the stow last row! I also love the optional 8th seat! We have never complained about storage space because there is plenty! The automatic sliding doors are super helpful! The only ISOs we've had with our van is the sensor on one of the doors being overly sensitive and not working properly.

I love my vehicle since it is very user friendly
Toyota Sienna is very light to drive and is very spacious good as family car. The length is just enough and does not take too much of the space. I like the fact that the parts of the car is easy to find because here in the US it is very important to have a car as a mode of transportation. I find the car very durable. The problem is the older the car the air condition also deteriorates but nevertheless I still find it very useful. The same goes with the heater. What I noticed it takes longer to heat up during winter season.

Caveats regarding 2012 Toyota sienna.
My 2015 Toyota sienna was the best option available at the time, and a replacement for a 2012 sienna that was totalled by an inattentive freeway driver who rammed my family while doing over the speed limit while I was stopped on an off ramp. I thought enough of the vehicle to buy the same model as a replacement. However, as years passed, maintenance became a big problem. I recently spent over $2500 to repair/replace things I thought should have lasted longer. Maybe I am from an outdated generation that expects things to last. The features on the car were a great combination at the time; I can carry eight people as well as cargo. However, the gas mileage is atrocious, and I am now spending more on gas during some weeks than I am on food for the family. I would still consider a sienna as a replacement, but I would be wary of maintenance and gas costs. Ipsos, stop forbidding use of a right click! Some of us use that to correct typos, and forcing us to retype is irritating.

2015 Toyota sienna is a great value for the features.
The 2015 Toyota sienna has been an extremely reliable vehicle. I previously owned a 2003 Toyota sienna and the tires frequently would have uneven wear. The 2015 model has not had that issue. The middle row seats are easily removed from the car when I need to haul things using the sienna. The driver seat is very comfortable and the steering wheel has all the controls I need to easily navigate the stereo. I do like the in-dash computer display, however I do wish it gave little more detail information. For example it can indicate when a tire has low pressure, but it does not indicate which tire and I cannot see the current pressure in all tires.

It has leather seats and a moonroof for nice quiet trips. It also has a power trunk that is only a press of the button away. Overall it is an awesome vehicle to drive and I love it.

2015 used Toyota sienna review.
I bought my van used. Overall it is in great condition. One of the automated doors malfunction but I was able to get it fixed under warranty. There’s some scratches on vehicle but not bad. I love how both doors is automatic and the space is awesome. It also has rear view camera and touch screen radio which is huge upgrade to my old van. Another issue would be the headlights. Not sure why one headlight is able to have led but the other cannot. I think it is a wiring issue.

It is a mini van. All of the doors are automatic with the exception of the driver and passenger doors.
Very reliable, it doesn't get the best gas mileage, but we can seat up to 8 people and we are all sitting in comfort.

It is great for carting kids back and forth to school and activities.
I love the sliding doors and all the space. I wish there was more room in the very back. I would live to have leather seats.

Sleek look and reliable, lots of room for passengers, or for moving big items.
It is very roomy, it was not too hard to change the tire, there have been no mechanical problems, it looks nice and is easy to clean, I like the option of being able to put the 7th seat in

My Toyota sienna was a great choice.
My vehicle runs great. It is large so it is comfortable for my family plus friend if need be. It is reliable. I have not had many problems. My main problems are electrical. The automatic door is not always working. And the radio display does not work.

Great vehicle that handles and drives well.
I absolutely love my Toyota sienna minivan. It drives and handles well, and there is tons of storage space. It is great for hauling around my two kids and our dog. We have the XLE package. It has the built in DVD player, which is great for the kids when we are on the road for a few hours.

The great van can and will.
The car is very reliable and pretty good on gas despite its size. The oil runs well and we haven't had any problems in the year we've had it. The only small issue has been with the tire pressure gauge. We had to take it back to the tire store a few times to get it fixed and redone.
