This is an amazing car! I love it despite a few shortcomings.

2018 Volkswagen Atlas 3.6L V6 SE

I absolutely love the Atlas. We needed a larger car because of our expanding family, searching for a 3rd row SUV or minivan. The Atlas stood out for us because of it's sleek yet rugged design, option for captain's seats, and ease of access to the 3rd row (especially with a car seat installed in the second row). There are so many features that I am constantly discovering them even 8 months into ownership. I often find myself saying 'This car is smarter than I am!'. One feature I especially find useful is the lane change assistance that alerts me if another vehicle is detected in the blind spot. I also really like the Car App function when I have my phone plugged in, making hands-free communication and navigation a breeze. Although I wouldn't trade my Atlas for any other SUV, there are a few things to consider before taking one home. When the 3rd row is in use it is difficult to fit everything I need in the back cargo space. I know I could get more space from a minivan or large SUV. Also, the second row Captain's chairs lack cup holders which is tough on my young children when they are trying to manage their drinks. Lastly, I don't like that the car shuts down it's air conditioning when left idle for too long. I didn't realize the air went off while my daughter was in the car resting while I stood outside the car. I live in Las Vegas so the inside of the car got way too hot in the early summer. Even standing within 20 feet, I was unaware that my child was overheating. It is supposed to recognize the extreme temperatures and keep the temperature controls on when idle, but this safety feature failed or the threshold needs to be adjusted. Now that I am aware of this it's not a problem but it could've been a more serious learning experience.

Worst mistake!

2018 Volkswagen Atlas

We've bought the VW Atlas R line ( top of the line) on November 2017 and we'll be trading it in this Summer. We are a big family and our kids play sports almost everday so having a big SUV is a must. We bought it based on the space which seats seven and it has a big trunk when you fold the last row. The outside look is great and the inside looks even better with the two tone leather seats! However it was in for rust repair twice within the first four weeks after purchase, the remote starter works if you are literally five feet away from the car ( as per the experts at VW Orangeville, that's a normal!) Every single light in the dashboard has been on several times, electrical issues, overall this is not a reliable SUV as we were expecting and for the price its definitely not worth a cent. Can't wait to get rid of it! We have had enough headaches with this SUV! Definitely the worst purchase we've ever made!

Atlas-great family car that is fun to drive.

2018 Volkswagen Atlas

I love my atlas!! I feel so safe driving it-it’s a very solid car. It is also very comfortable, seating up to 7 adults easily. It gets great gas mileage. It is fun to drive. It is higher up then a car but not super high. I love the touch screen and all the safety devices like lane assist. I love the look of the atlas. The colors are pretty however I would have loved a green. I also love the cruise control and how it will adjust the speed if the car in front of you is going slower. I would love the atlas even more if it had more cup holders. One thing I would change would be to bring the DVD player out of the glove box and put it behind the touch screen. There is no way to get to it if driving.
