Do not let size fool you, she's small but mighty!
I think it is a very sound car, it runs beautifully and even after 8 years it is still a gem. It may be a compact, small car, but do not let the outside fool you! It is very big and roomy on the inside, with plenty of leg room for even the biggest of drivers.

Great car, very few issues.
Check engine light has been on ever since I got it in 2015, will cost at least $500 to fix. It gets great gas mileage. Great size and is surprisingly roomy on the inside very easy to get car seats in and out of the back. Gets up to speed very quick.

Beetle convertible. Super fun to drive. Easy to put the top down.
Really fun car to drive. Had not needed a lot of maintenance other than expected wear and tear. Reliable. Fun in the summer convertible. Good heated seats for winter. Had more space in it than you would think. Good sound system. Not bad on gas. Overall a really fun car to drive ??.

The Volkswagen Beetle is so adorable!
My Volkswagen Beetle is an extremely reliable car and gets me where it needs to go. The most important feature for a car to me is how it looks and the Volkswagen Beetle is as cute as they come.

Great VW bug purchased used no problems.
Reliable, always performed well. Very comfortable and good gas mileage. No major problems. Purchased used. Only problem is electric squeaky window.

Burnt orange Volkswagen bug.
The car drives very smoothly especially on a freeway. The car is small but has plenty of space inside the car as well as in the truck. It also had a camera to help you guide your car in reverse. It comes in a nice color. It's a foreign car so if you did need parts they’d be a bit expensive or hard to find but I haven't had any issues with my car.

2010 Volkswagen yellow beetle.
It is a small car but when you are inside it has a lot of room for two people. It is a sporty car so it is quick to pick up speed. Although I had to change the fuel filter and the o2 sensor, which the parts are very expensive. So that is a down fall about owning a Volkswagen make car.

Very safe in all kinds of weather including snow and ice.
I love my red beetle. It gets great gas mileage. She rides like a dream. Safe in all kinds of weather.

Never buy a beetle with children.
It is not for children. Too small. A lot of problems with the exhaust system the transmission the catalytic converter the max air flow sensor coil packs sparks plug headlights. I could go on for days. Once this car gets in bad shape, you might as well junk it. Cost less to buy a new car. Transmission has no dipstick so you have to refill it from the bottom.

It gets good gas mileage and great for commuting.
This car was great at first but eventually had many problems. Not good for long term. There is electrical problems and it seems to attract bad luck. There is a leak and they say it will cost 2000 dollars to repair. It is too expensive to work on. I cannot afford the repairs.

Good, efficient and cost-effective car.
It has a lot of get-up-and-go. But it is a very small car with limited space. Current problems are wipers which make things difficult during the rain. Overall a good car, but newer models are obviously going to be better in terms of performance. Would recommend to purchase if price is an object.

Not as small as you think!
This car has great space, good gas mileage, and good driving. For a small compact car you do not feel tight, or not have room for luggage, grocery or car seats.

A VW beetle is a great starter car.
The car is cute and is reliable, has never broken down on me but repairs are costly. I have frequent problems with the sunroof opening and oil. Leaks but it works for a beginner car for cheap, I got it used. I would recommend this car for any starter car, it is good on gas, not too expensive to register, and is not horrible on ice. Though it is really low to the ground and often gets stuck in snows.

Her name is Vanellope because her color is light tan (Vanilla) and that is combined with the name Penelope to make Vanellope!
I like that it is small and gets good gas mileage. I like the shape. I do not like the fact that the inside of the car starts falling apart after a few years.

It works, is reliable and rarely needs repairs.
It's a small vehicle that stands out in crowd. It's easy to recognize and has been around for years.

Love it as a single women!
It lasts a long time with low maintenance. I am just now at 175,000 miles having to really replace things. It is just too small for my now family. It is great on gas miles as well. It also has good pickup and quality made. Parts are expensive to replace but they last.

Pros from Owners

likeFilled Irene R.

I think it is cute and small. It is very expensive to fix when things break down. I wish it had a bigger trunk space. But I like it very much. I mostly like the way it looks. I think all cars are pretty much the same nowadays, so I went for the one I thought was the cutest.

likeFilled Mackenzie M.

It is not too big so it fits in cramped spaces. It does good on gas mileage. There in plenty of room in the front and the trunk is pretty decent sized for the cars overall size. Its is fun to drive and has a sports mode.

likeFilled Kayla M.

The pros are that it is highly efficient on gas and is good for work commutes. It is also able to fit into smaller places, which can help when it comes to parking. Also it is AMAZING in gas and only requires a $25 fill up.

likeFilled Maya M.

Size, fuel efficiency, aesthetic and appearance, radio, trunk capacity, wide windows and windshields, seat belts are good, heated seats for winter, glove compartment has large storage, lights are good, seats are comfortable.

likeFilled Regina W.

It is a small car, but perfect for the city where space is condensed and parking is easier for small cars. It can also fit up to 4 people comfortably. This car also looks very cute and makes me feel like I am driving a car from the past.

Cons from Owners

dislikeFilled Irene R.

Very small trunk space. It is not the best car to take to Costco. I'd like to have more space for things like my kids scooter. It is hard for older people to get in and out of. My mom or dad have to struggle to get in and out of the back seat. It is more expensive to repair than my other car.

dislikeFilled Mackenzie M.

The back seat is very small in this car. If someone sit in the back they will not a lot of extra room to move. Anyone who sits in the back will be very mushed and probably uncomfortable. There is not much space for storage.

dislikeFilled Kayla M.

The only con is that it is so low to the ground that potholes and speed bumps are a huge issue. Also the oil change can be pricey at times and when it comes to getting new tires, they have to be a specific brand.

dislikeFilled Maya M.

Black leather interior gets very hot and you stick to the seats in the summer, air conditioning is not very strong and does not circulate very well throughout the car, the back is quite cramped and wouldn't be comfortable for a long trip.

dislikeFilled Regina W.

The trunk slopes down, which makes it difficult to store things that are more boxy in the back. Storage capacity is the biggest con because it is such a small car. A lot of tetris is involved after each Costco trip. Sometimes, the steering wheel also gets stuck and it can be tricky to start the engine; you have to turn the key the right way.
