The Volkswagen Golf is a great 4 door vehicle for those who are looking for performance and space.
Only issues I've had over 3.5 years of ownership were all covered by VW warranty! The Golf has pep but also enough storage space and room for friends!

Great on gas, has power, and good daily driver
This be golf had been great. It is reliable, dependable, and overall good investment. I would recommend this vehicle to anyone.

Loving my Volkswagen, loving my golf.
It has a tendency to offer an incredibly smooth ride. For the most part it offers right around 37 miles per gallon, when I keep it clean, of course, it is a very sleek and stylish ride. I have always been a huge fan of Volkswagen and most of their models. When the golf hit the north American market, I had to have it.

VW golf: perfect size, perfect speed.
I do not have any real issues with the car at all! Some of the interior of the center console is made from a cheap metal so it is chipping off and it cuts my hands as I reach into the compartment under the radio, but other than that 10/10! Awesome gas mileage, comfortable, and it call haul quite a bit when you lay the back seats down.

It gets great mileage. It has a lot of interior space and is a kick to drive.
VW Golf Sportwagen TDI The diesel version of the car gets me great mileage. It is very clean and fun to drive. This is the second TDI VW I have owned.

Great amount of power and luxury for a small car!
My car has 60,000 miles on it and runs just as good as the day I got it. I have a dog who constantly rides in the back and the leather seats have held up beautifully. I love the hatchback. I am able to fit more in this car than I was my small SUV. It is the smoothest ride.

Wouldn't recommend this car, too many problems.
Constantly in the shop fixing problems with this car. Bought it brand new and use it only to drive to and from work, roughly about 14 miles daily. Highly wouldn't recommend this car to anyone. This car should come with a longer extended warranty- especially because it wasn't cheap to purchase.

So many random issues for this car
I have had frequent sensor issues. Such as the sensor saying that my car has low air in the tires when they definitely don't, the BlueDef sensor coming on too soon or not at all, the seatbelt sensor coming on when my seatbelt is on and no one is in the passenger seat, and now for no reason it smells like blue def in the cabin of the vehicle. I don't trust this car and I feel that I am stuck with it. I asked VW to perhaps buy it back, but I don't have my hopes up. I just wish I had spent less money on this car since it has required so much attention between 20k and 35k miles.

Unexpected, random and confusing problems.
The electrical is weird and unpredictable. It does not have seat warmers. It always seems like there's something wrong. Random lights that say put vehicle in park- error will come on so then I panic but then they shut off. The windows roll all the way down when I do not want them to. If I turn the air or heat up the ac automatically comes on when I do not want it on. I'd rather push the button myself when I want the ac on.

It has a nice look and gas mileage
It's getting to be too small for my family size. I have had a trouble early on with transmission and tires.

Mpg for days on diesel;).
Great mileage, reliable, decent maintenance cost. Sadly I miss the heated seats, the sunroof, the backup camera from next level se model. Does not matter about emissions scandals when I get better than 50 mpg in summer without cost and uncertainties of a hybrid electric car.

Economical in every way!!
Really economical! Runs smooth, easy maintenance. This car has outdone many others and continues to save money from low cost tires to paint job that always looks shiny! No complaints at all! It is sporty looking and luxury looking at the same time!! Best car ever!!

The shifter for automatic transmission is really bad,
Ok overall. Had a few problems. Like It's size.

Little red Speedwagon is fun.
Nice car, great mpg, just a bit too small for larger people or groups. The manual transmission is forgiving and it is fun to drive, would recommend for a first car and a daily commute driver. The interior is simple and clean and the car handles well I have had no major mechanical issues of any kind.

Love my turbo diesel golf.
Slight water leak around the hatch and sunroof. Love the fuel mileage. Dealership covers everything under dieselgate as advertised. Fun vehicle to drive. Quiet comfortable and surprisingly roomy inside considering the size. Hope VW changes their mind and brings diesel cars back to the us.

Volkswagen 2015 golf: fun to drive despite strange transmission issues.
My golf has an apparent transmission issue that began at about 30,000 miles. It otherwise drives smoothly, gets great gas mileage, and is a joy to drive. The sunroof is a lot of fun to have, and the infotainment screen is also full of good information and easy to use.

Pros from Owners

likeFilled Gemma Y.

It has good quality interior, feels solid and safe and has good value. It is also a durable vehicle. It can fit a lot of stuff and is convenient for shopping bulky items or go on a road trip. Lastly, it does not lose too much value.

likeFilled James G.

The pros are it is very reliable. The fuel economy is very good too. It has a sporty ride and fun to drive. The car is user friendly and easy to reset things like the tire pressure without having to contact a mechanic to reset the light.

Cons from Owners

dislikeFilled Gemma Y.

You can hardly find service locations in the US, it is more expensive than in Germany, it is good enough for a couple but not good enough for a family of three or above. Lastly, you can actually find cheaper cars in the same size range.

dislikeFilled James G.

The biggest con is a faulty sunroof that was recalled. The car sits lower so you have to be careful pulling into parking spaces so you do not hit the concrete. Other than that I have not had any issues.

Is The 2015 Volkswagen Golf A Good Car?

This is a great vehicle for entry level golfs. Picked up a 5 speed model and instantly fell in love with how it drives. Most prefer the gti but this is a great cost effective alternative.

I bought my car CPO. Due to all the issues and the warranty not covering them, I'd say not a good value.
Tammy C.
I paid somewhere between 25,000 to 28,000. I paid cash for it and I cannot remember the exact amount. I think it was a very good value.
