The car has very good gas mileage.
I bought the car used and have not had any problems so far. I have had it for less than a year. The car gets good mileage. The car has a fairly smooth ride. The seats adjust to numerous positions which makes the ride very comfortable.

The body will wear out before the engine.
Love the way it rides. Super reliable. Do not like the headrests. They push your head forward. Wish the cup holders weren't where they are.

It has a diesel engine and it has 371000 miles on it.
I like the fuel mileage I get and it is fun to drive. I dislike that it is getting old.

My vehicle is reliable as ever.
The most problems that I have encountered with my vehicle is as it gets older there are more glitches with the sound system, or lock system. I do not regret buying this vehicle, it is reliable, comfortable. The gas mileage is also very good for someone who is budgeting.

The seats are heated which is nice
Leaks oil, transmission is smooth. I like the seats they recline all the way back. Very small though

How good it drives even when the pre owner didn't take care of it.
I had to get use to having a few different lug nut keys because I bought it used but plan on getting them all replaced with regular ones soon. Also my sunroof gets stuck sometimes and it takes a few mins to make it close but all in all I love the car.

Great German engineering at it's best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love everything about it. There isn't anything I dislike, hence the reason I have had it for 19 years. It is also somewhat difficult to find manual transmission cars anymore.

VW Jetta looks nice on the outside but cheap on the inside.
VW are cheap made interior that break. Repairs are expensive so I do repairs myself and very difficult to work on. The cars are very reliable as long as you maintain them. The aftermarket parts are hard to get unless you go through a dealership. If you buy a used Jetta learn how to work on them and prepare to spend time figuring out how to work on them.

Mileage for diesel is high
It gets great mileage but because it is a diesel it gets clogged and becomes sluggish. It is small and isn't awesome in the snow.

Nice vehicle for average money with multiple models
Diesel model is economic and easy to use. The breaks and failures in care are pricey

Easy maintenance vehicle
When a problem occurred, it was very easy to look up what was wrong, find the parts if needed, and fix the problem ourselves.

Good on gas and comfortable to ride in!
I have owned 3 Jetta's now. I haven't paid over $800 for any of them. They have been great vehicles to me. They are good on gas and ride nice. Depending on certain issues that need to be fixed is the only downfall for me because being a Volkswagen they can get a little pricey for parts and labor. Depending on your families size is how comfortable they are. 3 kids in the back gets a little snug! Great amount of trunk space and mine has the back seats that fold down. And the stereo system is very good even just stock radio.

VWs are a wonderful brand. I always feel comfortable in a Volkswagen. I have owned VWs for many years and will continue to drive them.
My daily driver is a 1998 VW Jetta GT. It's a 20 year old car so of course it isn't perfect. I have had at least 8 VWs over the years. They are very well built cars that seem to run forever.

Jetta: A frustrating and expensive purchase
There have been a lot of problems with the Jetta. Wiring, tire rims, windows and engine issues. In the past, diagnostic tests have been needed on the internal computer, and it's incredibly expensive to maintain. Synthetic oil is needed and the parts are often shipped in from Germany if a replacement part is needed.

It's great on gas and very smooth to drive
It's a good running car. I get wonderful gas mileage and I am so grateful to be able to get to work and back on one tank for a week. I have a lot of room for my kids so they don't have to be right on top of each other. It's a quiet and safe car. I am so grateful that I have a good running car
