We have been through a lot together. This car has never let me down.
It is one of the last of the Type IV Jettas and the last made in Wolfsburg. In 2005 the Jetta reached to top of its game and I wish I could keep it forever. They do not make them like this anymore. Does that make sense?
accountCircle Sarah H
That a Jetta lasts a really long time and that it drives really well
I love Volkswagen and a Jetta is roomy without being to big. It also drives really well. The downside is that 2005 Jetta like mine had some sort of engine belt problem and it was very expensive to fix.
accountCircle Justice G
One important thing you should know about my car is it is durable and can get from point a to point b.
I love my car I rarely have problems but my main complaint is that the interior smells like crayons especially when it gets hot outside.

For Chan bring lights color changing
Its best and had totally chromosome faeries. Features are amazing. I wouldn't trade my jetted for the world!why must thus be in the oversized heat for groceries can always fit in drive there it is great for hot summer driving as well. Someone in winter it doesn't handle the best but overall I live it
accountCircle Nikki C
Jetta is very reliable, it has over 100,000 miles and still running very strong
My car has all the bells and whistles, electric everything, heated leather seats, speed sensor wipers, XM radio. I really don't have any complaints.
accountCircle Robert R
The best detail is the sunroof feature. Ideal for the island.
It has a leather khaki interior and the best system to play music. I love the gas usage its very low and efficient. Its second hand but its very good no issues so far. Had it for two years now. Its seats are comfortable and have heating access for wintery mornings.

I would love everyone to know that the most important thing about my car is That it is a diesel and Diesel engine last long. I, also, save most of the gas because even I have to drive often I only get gas about 1 or twice a month
I like my vehicle because it's a compact vehicle not too big and not too small and most of all it gives me a great mpg no matter where I drive
accountCircle Kevin Z
Jetta: reliable and efficient.
My Jetta has given everything I have ever asked from it. My model is diesel and manual transmission, so it is fuel efficiency is really good and it is engine is quite powerful. The interior of the car is very comfortable and slightly spacious considering the size of the car. I have had a couple spark plug problems and coolant leaks, but besides those issues nothing major.

Negative Owner Reviews

It constantly bangs while in traffic or when I stop and go. I do like that on good days it rides nice has heated seats and a sunroof good on gas
It runs great on gas and it starts pretty quick and the ac kicks in pretty quick
accountCircle Valerie R
It falls apart from the inside out.
I dislike that my vehicle is very compact and the interior and exterior are cheap. Everything breaks constantly and is falling apart such as the glove box handle, the air conditioner blinds, the material on the roof of the car is falling off and on the insides of the doors.
accountCircle Darian S
Beige car with a sunroof, ran well aside from transmission issues, has an automatic transmission
The transmission has started to falter so it is not safe to drive for extended periods of time but before that issue it was a good car.
accountCircle Kelly M
It is expensive to fix.. But handles nice to drive. Comfortable seats.
Transmission problems. Electrical problems.. Lights and sunroof not working at times. Ran a test on it and Cadillac converter is bad. Costs a lot to fix it. Have to take to dealership.. Battery has failed once. Very expensive car to have. Need to look at different car to purchase.
accountCircle Cedes M
Nice car for beginning drivers, definitely gets the job done.
The electrical in my car tends to malfunction. Random warning lights turn on when there is actually nothing wrong. But I was aware that Jetta had bad electrical before I bought it. The trunk also broke on it is own, I have to hold the trunk open when using it. Also, my driver side window stopped rolling down and up without me doing anything. Sometimes the other windows will roll down on their own which is always odd. I do think the car drives smooth, which is always nice. The gas usage is also good, I am not sure how many miles per gallon it gets but it seems to be good. There is seat warmers which, not going to lie, I love. You can adjust both sides of the ac without affecting the other side which is very nice. While the trunk door is broken and will not hold itself, the trunk is very roomy and has a lot of space for storage. The back seat is a little crowded but I do not usually haul a bunch of people around so that is fine. I do not like the passenger seat adjuster because my guests are usually confused by it and it took me months to figure it out.
accountCircle Janet B
It has a nice luxurious feel to it but that feeling comes with a price.
I like the car itself but whenever things go wrong with it it's very expensive to fix. When I bought it, it was only worth about five grand, but I ended up paying a little over nine grand for it.

Takes Diesel But Still Good
I really like this vehicle. It is fuel efficient but it does take diesel so the cost to fill up is more than I'm accustomed to for a small car. I acquired it used so it does have some pre existing issues, but it is still a great car for small trips.
accountCircle Monica H
This vehicle has punch! It is not one of those cars that lull when you have to go!
The problems so far is it is quite noisy when I drive it. Mind you, it is a 2005. I am pretty sure there is wear and tear and was much more quiet in its newer years. The drive is not as smooth as I would like but then again it is up in years. The driver's seat could be more comfortable. The features are pretty basic as well. I am sure they are well advanced in the newer models. It is extremely reliable. I have not had many issues at all. Just of course the regular maintenance that goes for any vehicle. Oil change, tire checks, and so forth. The comfort and I mentioned is ok, the arm rest is to far back which gives you a hard time when you want to rest your arms while driving. The headrest is small and not curved much for head support. The car is pretty basic compared to recent standards.

Volkswagen is an amazing company and I truly feel safe about my vehicle. It can get through anything. I will definitely be buying another volkswagen in the future!
I love everything about my vehicle. It is a TDI so I get wonderful mpg and it is a solid vehicle with almost 300,000miles on it. I am having issues with the Turbocharger but it is understandable with as many miles as it has on it. A truly solid car!

That it's a really smooth drive. And is great on gas mileage.
I love the way the Jetta drives it's so smooth. I love the heated seats, the leather seats, that it's a four door, and so much more. Honestly I can't think of anything I dislike about it.

Pros from Owners

likeFilled Mathew D.

It is Reliable, and good on gas. It is Comfortable, and spacious. Handles good, and still sporty. Good for commuting, automatic but still allows for Manual shifting. Safe, and economic. Leather seats, fairly good factory sound system.

likeFilled Alex S.

I absolutely love that it is a turbo diesel. It gets great mileage. It has a great sound system. I think it drives great even with a lot of miles on it and I think it could get up to 300,000 miles on it easily.

likeFilled Dominique W.

It's a small vehicle but still has a lot of room if you wanted to go on a weekend getaway. Perfect for someone who feels more comfortable in a small car, a college student, a new driver. It's really good on the highway.

likeFilled Anna H.

This car has sports drive, you can switch from automatic to manual gear shift. It also has German engineering, which is awesome. It has a nice sleek look to it and great running engine. Most parts for it can be found fairly cheap.

likeFilled Christina A.

Some good qualities about the VW Jetta is the design of the car it is current and up to date. They are long lasting cars. The gas mileage on the cervix awesome. You don't constantly have to fill up the gas tank.

Cons from Owners

dislikeFilled Mathew D.

Not the best in snow. Repairing yourself is extremely complicated compared to other cars. Recommend going to the dealer for repairs. The seats could be more Comfortable, and the windshield is very narrow, so seeing the traffic lights when at intersection is difficult at times.

dislikeFilled Alex S.

I think that the interior is a little small. There's no auxiliary input to the sound system. All of the fluids that are up to specifications for the car are very expensive and difficult to find in stores.

dislikeFilled Dominique W.

The gas mileage is not that great around the city. I would find myself filling up every 5 days. Also, the computer in it caused the car to die on the road frequently causing me to have to get my car towed.

dislikeFilled Anna H.

It requires a good amount of upkeep to keep it running well. A lot of the parts come at a pretty hefty price because it is German made. Other than that there are no other cons to the Volkswagen Jetta.

dislikeFilled Christina A.

The one con that always gets me is when having to change the tires. The tires come with special locks in them. Which is good so no one can steal your tires but bad if you misplaced the tool needed to change the tire.
