My vehicle is crisp white with cream interior.
I have had no issues since getting my Passat, aside from a recent recall, but that will be an easy fix. My car drives so smoothly and is great on gas.
accountCircle Kathleen V
I didn't go wrong when I purchased my pre-owned 2014 passat.
The only real problem I have had with my vehicle was that a bolt connecting the turbo loosened and I was losing oil. No sensors ever indicated that the oil was low, I found out because my engine did not sound as it usually does when accelerating. Otherwise, she performs amazingly and I am now wanting to start upgrades. The car rides so smooth and aside from the bolt issue, she is completely reliable. I cannot say enough good things about my Volkswagen!

Exterior color, interior color, sound system, sunroof,
Very comfortable, performs well, accessories are great. Love the sunroof and interior. Outside sleek looking. Great on gas. Sound system is top notch low maintenance. Takes diesel fuel. White exterior gives it a luxurious feel. Wood grain interior with beige leather seats heated for those cold winter nights. Seats have massage mechanisms in them for lower back issues.

Space/fuel economy/smooth ride
T2014 VW Passat TDI SE with sunroof is an excellent car. The largest interior sedan Ive seen. And a huge trunk. Legroom front and back is incredible. Where is the magic button for all that interior space? Fuel efficient 35 mpg to 50 mpg. Smooth riding car. Quick. The DSG is an awesome manual transmission. This car in one word is INCREDIBLE!

2014 tdi sel smooth ride and comfortable.
The only problem I have had with my car is the fender audio system you cannot upgrade your radio to an aftermarket if you want. The car drives and ride very smooth. The other think that I do not like is when the car is remote started and you go to unlock it the car turns off.
accountCircle Vicki S
Great car for a great price.
Excellent car. Comfortable for a tall girl. No issues with air conditioning or heat. Love the heated seats. Large roomy trunk area great for trips to the big box stores. Great cup storage on the doors and center console. The seats recline so you can take a nap.
accountCircle Mary G
It is a very safe car. It has a backup camera and all the airbags needed to stay safe.
I love my Volkswagen! It is truly an amazing car. Never has any problems, runs great, and all of my friends love it too!

My volkswagen passat: Overall, it is a fine car, nothing bad with it.
So I own a 2014 Volkswagen passat Wolfsburg and my car is usually fine but my air conditioning system does not always work. I could turn it on and wait while I drive somewhere but then it will not cool down. It takes a minute for it to cool down or sometimes it does not cool down at all.

Do not buy a VW diesel vehicle!
Diesel so that is a plus. Downside is in America they do not make the parts anymore since 2015. Vehicle has been in service more than being driven. Having a hard time getting parts to fix issues. I got sold a lemon and am working with VW to buy it back.

Reliability
Very disappointed, marred with mecanical and electrical issues all of the time. No sooner the car is serviced, there are lights blinking and malfunctions galore. Woul not recommend this car. I have a family to care for, this is not a reliable vehicle. Every time I get in this car I am stressed and concerned if I will get to where I need to be safely. It’s tiring (and not normal) having so many frequent visits to the VW dealership.

As long as you're under warranty, great car ... But -
Several friends said "don't buy it. Lease it. Because the repairs will be expensive." I should have listening. My 2014 until last month (August 2020) had no issues; only maintenance I performed was a new battery in June. Then ... Engine and EPC lights kept coming on. Engine misfires, poor throttle. Had new plugs and ignition coils installed ($500). One week later, same problem. Replaced NAPA parts with dealer/mfr parts. One week later - same problem. Now the engine coolant light is flashing. Leak somewhere getting the #1 ignition coil wet. Head gasket issues? I only have 58,000 miles on this car (mostly work from home) and my power train warranty expired November 2018; purchased the car new Oct. 2013. Really unhappy about this.

Chevrolet Cruze vs VW passat.
I don't really have any performance related issues. I just miss my Chevy Cruze that had a sunroof/moonroof, heated seats, back-up camera, and remote start. It was also in better shape with less miles and prettier colors. The passat does not have those features and it is black with grey interior, not dark green with tan interior.
accountCircle Carol S
Don't buy a diesel there are many problems with the ADBlue pump & heater. Also avoid keyless entry if possible. Ours had to be replaced after 4 years.
I like that is gets good gas mileage. I don't like the mechanic problems we are having with it.

Bad car. The Volkswagen has many problems among them an electrical short.
My husband bought this vehicle used. The dealership said they would repair the cruise control. When we bought it in for repair I was told there was a short in the electrical system and they refused to repair it. There has also Been 2 recalls in 1 year!
accountCircle Jason B
It is made by Germany and the handling is awesome.
It is expensive to maintain. Parts are hard to get for it. The electronics are expensive to fix. Tires are very pricey.

Volkswagen is a lot of work.
Overall it is a nice luxury car, but I have experienced many electrical and engine/transmission problems with this vehicle. The leather seats and rubber mats are a nice touch to making this car feel nicer than what it actually is. The sound quality of the stereo system is great and it is adaptable to Bluetooth audio. Heated seats are a bonus although I would suggest a heated steering wheel option.

I commute 80 miles per day and love the comfort and quiet of my passat.
No overtly major problems, regular maintenance has been affordable. Excellent gas mileage and comfort, huge trunk for storage. Recently broke 100,000 miles still running strong. Very reliable vehicle with parts mostly available at auto parts retail chains. Some mechanics may not be qualified to handle certain specifics of Volkswagen.

Wish the features were better.
I loved the car when I first got it. I just believe that VWs are behind on the intelligence in a car. Like no push to start, no automatic seats. A lot of American cars have that in a old as a 2013. The car stalls a lot. It had about 45000 miles on it. I am at 69k, and it seems to be declining.

Pros from Owners

likeFilled Chas G.

Good value, decent mileage, safe, nice finish. Drives smoothly, has good handling. Stereo quality is not bad, and Bluetooth works well. Overall it has not been disappointing, the backup camera is a nice feature as well. Not too expensive to insure.

likeFilled Knom A.

I love the Gas mileage, the comfortable seats, the smooth steering, the smooth driving and it is nice in long road trips so long as there are not a lot of stopping. I haven't had to do any work on the car yet so that's nice. It has low miles and is long lasting.

likeFilled Jovana J.

The pros of my vehicle is that the car drives smoothly. It is good on gas. Has a very nice look. Has enough room for 5 passengers. Has a sports feature. It is easy to control. The pedal is not too loose.

likeFilled Rebecca P.

Pros are it has a lot of space and runs smoothly. I like it can speed up and stop quickly very safe for my family and I. By far my favorite car I have ever had. A lot of trunk space for my double stroller.

likeFilled Jaunice S.

My vehicle is low maintenance and drives very smoothly. The wheel is not too sensitive and I really feel like I have great control of it. My Volkswagen is also very roomy. I can fit a convertible car seat, one booster, and my other son in the back.

Cons from Owners

dislikeFilled Chas G.

Electronics had some issues that needed to be fixed in order to restore functionality to the backup camera. Also needed some engine work to clean out buildup in the header assembly. Dealership cost to fix issues is expensive.

dislikeFilled Knom A.

I am not a fan of the manual transmission. I know that's how I bought it, but it kills the gas mileage when in the city or anywhere where you have to make frequent stops. It isn't very fast and it can be a little gutless when in 3rd gear going up hills.

dislikeFilled Jovana J.

My cons of my vehicle is that going to is limited in other colors unless you get a color change. Acceleration sometimes seems to be a little slow start (may just be my vehicle, not sure what the problem is).

dislikeFilled Rebecca P.

The drivers side door does not lock always but the other doors do. Parts to fix it are very expensive and oil changes are double compared to a common car. My windshield wipers went out 3 times and it was 500 to fix.

dislikeFilled Jaunice S.

I have owned several Volkswagen before and they all at some point had issues with the coolant leaking and a faulty air conditioning. My engine light turns on also from time to time and completely disappears.
